T'S A WONDERFUL LIFE
Can You Really Still Believe That None of These People Would Have Done a Better Job???
TheBlaze/AP – (The Associated Press was the first to report this news): Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is leaving his 7 p.m. ET timeslot to take on a larger role heading up the network’s new breaking news division.
Starting this fall, the new division, with Smith as the main anchor and managing editor, will have the capability to break into any Fox News programming anytime throughout the day, a network statement said.
“Shep is a premier journalist and one of the finest newsmen of the modern era. He will exemplify the ethos that Fox News is when and where the news is, as it happens, no longer bound by a traditional evening format conceived in the 1960s,” Fox News chairman Roger Ailes said in the statement.
A new studio, known as the “Fox News Deck,” will incorporate “real-time news feeds, digital media newsgathering and social media utilizing advanced, state-of-the-art technology.”
“Learning and reporting the news has been my passion for 25 years. I’m thrilled that Roger is trusting and empowering my team and me to bring the news to our viewers as it happens throughout the day and night. Roger’s forward-looking approach to anchoring and reporting will continue to solidify FNC’s position as the number one cable news network in the country,” Smith said.
Smith will remain in the 3 p.m. ET hour under the renamed and revamped “Shepard Smith Reporting”.
It’s the first announced primetime programming shuffle since the network said in July that daytime anchor Megyn Kelly would be moving to evenings. Kelly has been rumored to be taking Sean Hannity’s 9 p.m. slot.
There was no announcement about who would replace Smith in his 7 p.m. timeslot, or about the rest of the Fox News primetime lineup, but if you do the math, it appears that there is a good chance that Sean Hannity will drop into Shep’s old 7p.m. spot, right before O’Reilly and The Factor?!?
This change is just one more in what appears to be a Fox Cable News re-vamp thus far including Shep Smith, Megyn Kelly, Sean Hannity, Gretchen Carlson and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. There have already been quite a few changes over the past few months in the line-up of Fox News contributors, including the addition of Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and the re-signing of Former Alaska Governor and GOP Vice Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin.
Fox News has some major shake ups going down. In two weeks, Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be joining the cast of Fox and Friends and Gretchen Carlson will be moving to afternoons. Also, Megyn Kelly is prepping for her new primetime show. She will be replacing longtime anchor Sean Hannity, who has remained quiet on the matter in recent weeks.
No one is perhaps more shocked about the Fox News lineup changes than Sean Hannity. After signing a long-term contract with the conservative news network, it was revealed that he will be losing his primetime gig.
Fox has not yet revealed their plans for the seasoned anchor, saying only that Sean Hannity has not been fired. Fox didn’t comment further on the situation… so speculation has been running wild.
This is the second time Hannity has received some bad news in the past few months. The first instance came when the radio network that carries his afternoon talk show announced that it would likely not renew the contracts of both Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.
Don’t worry, Hannity fans. Another major radio network has already hinted that they would distribute his afternoon programs.
Things seem to be going much better for Megyn Kelly. Kelly, who just gave birth to her third child, will be getting a new primetime show.
Kelly will man the 9:00 p.m. time slot as soon as she returns from maternity leave. She technically has until November before she has to return to work, but many analysts believe that she will return much sooner.
The only start date that has been announced is that of Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She will start her career with the conservative news network on September 16. Presumably, Carlson will begin her new show on the same day or close to it.
Yesterday Glenn Beck and his audience began a new chapter. His life at Fox and on mainstream TV ended as he exited the stage of his Fox News set for the last time with one last “From New York, Goodnight, America”.
The final broadcast of “The Glenn Beck Show” was a little bit of everything: a look back, a glimpse into the future and a frank assessment of the reasons behind Beck’s Fox News Channel departure.
Beck, who ad-libbed much of his last hour as an FNC host, spoke candidly about the decision to launch a web-based TV channel, saying he hoped he had earned viewers’ trust on “The Glenn Beck Show.” “Anyone watching this show knows that I have bent this format so far out of its structure, out of its parameters,” Beck said. “This is a news channel. I do commentary.”
“This show has become a movement,” he said. “It’s not a TV show. And that’s why it doesn’t belong on television. It belongs in your homes, it belongs in your neighborhoods.” Read full story at the Blaze

It seems that documentary movies regarding the fiscal and financial crisis are on demand nowadays. One of the newest of these kinds of documentaries is the movie Generation Zero.
Generation Zero-The Truth About the Financial Meltdown is a documentary produced by David N. Bossie and directed by Steve K. Bannon that examines the causes of the economic collapse of September 18, 2008. The film surmises that the Greatest Generation, in their effort to shelter their children from the horrors of The Great Depression and World War II overly nurtured them, causing an outlook of selfishness.
Generation Zero novie documentary alleges that the financial crisis of 2008 happened as a result of this selfishness coming from the generation that would become the hippies of the 1960s who would eventually come to power and promote their outlook upon the financial markets by taking reckless risks because they believed there could be no downside to their decisions. The documentary interviews many influential voices in fiscal conservative circles such as Lou Dobbs, Newt Gingrich and Tobin Smith. The film made its debut at the Tea Party Convention and was shown shortly after at the 2010 CPAC event.
What are the critics say about this Generation Zero movie who have already watch this documentary? According to them, Generation Zero film is very stylistic. When discussing the Wall Street investment Bankers you see Great White sharks devouring huge chunks of meat. The symbolism is fitting. They think that every American who is concerned about the direction of US should see this documentary film. The ending to this movie has not been written.
There’s a feeling of doomresonates throughout the film. Whether America can rise up and take this country back from the ruling elite is unanswered.
Fox Business Channel will air a 10 minute segment tonight at 7:00 pm aboutGENERATION ZERO. Steve Bannon plans on a general release to movie theaters in mid-March. A tie in to the National Tea Party on April 15 would be a perfect way to have asmany people as possible see this important film.

FORMER ALASKA GOV. SARAH PALIN JOINS FOX NEWS AS A CONTRIBUTOR
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has signed a multi-year deal with FOX News to serve as a contributor across all FOX News platforms, announced Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming.
In making the announcement, Shine said, "Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup." As a contributor, Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOXNews.com, and FOX News-produced special event political programming for FOX Broadcasting.
In addition, she will host periodic episodes of FNC's "Real American Stories," a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010.
Palin added, "I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at FOX News. It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."
Governor Palin is the author of the current number one New York Times bestseller, Going Rogue: An American Life. Her book tour to over 30 cities attracted thousands of people and extensive media coverage.
Palin was the first woman to serve as Governor of Alaska. She was sworn in as the 11th governor of the state in 2006 and worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development. In August 2008, then Republican Presidential Nominee Senator John McCain selected Governor Palin to run as his Vice Presidential candidate. Prior to holding the office of Governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla, and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator.

Why Does the WH Continue to Attack Fox News??? Because Fox is #1 in the ratings; Fox is the only real new outlet left and because the White House is afraid of Fox News’s ability to get the truth about Obamaland out!!! Nobody attacks or even bothers with entities that are ineffective!!
Senior Obama administration officials took to the airwaves Sunday to accuse Fox News of pushing a particular point of view, one week after the administration fired its initial salvo to try to isolate the news network by accusing it of being a GOP mouthpiece.
"A lot of their news programming, it's really not news. It's pushing a point of view," senior adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week."
"The way we -- the president looks at it and we look at it, is, it is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective," White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel added on CNN's "State of the Union."
The open assault on Fox News began last weekend when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn accused the network of being a "wing of the Republican Party." (Full Story)
White House advisers pledged on Sunday to book administration officials on Fox News despite claims by the president's inner circle that the cable network is a GOP mouthpiece whose programming "is geared toward making money."
Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News operates "almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party." On Sunday, Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said, "It is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective."
Fox News commentators Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity have been strong Obama critics, and Bill O'Reilly has taken tough looks at the administration. Obama avoided "Fox News Sunday" when he visited five Sunday morning news shows last month, and a recent White House blog post accused Beck of lying. Beck has called Obama a racist (Full Story)
The White House is like a small child yelling at their parents or teacher: "You are not real and you are not the boss of me..." When in reality the parent or teacher is very real and in charge... and everyone knows it, including the child! Fox's ratings are at the top of the charts... their actual news shows and their info or opinion shows. So the majority of the people who watch the news know that they are a real news outlet and that even their opinion shows are right on... so they are in charge of the news game. Axelrod, Rahm, Anita whatever her name is and Obama just look childish. There is a rumbling within this Country that has been stirred and all these games and lies and childishness just empowers all these groups more and more every day!
Fox has a full newsroom and the best research group in the biz. As the NY Times has admitted themselves, they have assigned one reporter just to watch Fox so they don't keep missing things. And Charlie Gibson admitted that they completely missed the Van Jones story and that it was a big Ooops!
And by the fact that the Obama WH spends so much time talking about, watching and worrying about Fox shows you that Fox is right on and that the WH is afraid of them! One of them either Axelrod or Rahm actually admitted that Fox was on their enemies list. Hello?? Their enemies list? We are back to that again? Enemies Lists, Right Wing-Extremest Lists, Don’t Agree With Me Lists??? Did Janet Napolitano tell us that was all a big misunderstanding??
Wow… Went back to some old articles and links… about enemies lists, extremists lists and Janet Napolitano to include in this piece… They have all been washed off the Internet by the White House. Creepy?!? You bet!!! Ominous?!? You bet!!
And no one that is inconsequential is on anyone's enemies list!! We all know that.
I read this great peace about the Age of Aquarius and Hippies (We babyboomers) is over. And as much as I hate to admit it, we (as a group) have not been good stewards or our era. It went on to say that conservatives were standing up in Hollywood and the focus on liberty was taking hold. Let us just hope it happens quickly enough!! Ask Marion~
I love it. The WH petulant complaint surprises even the liberals who fully understand that Fox is the only outlet that actually still has a news program that is what journalism should be. Anyone that thinks Sheppard Smith is slanting anything against Obama, better think again. His face turns green when he has to report anything not beneficial to Obama's agenda, but he does it. He's as far left in his personal beliefs as some of the Obama cheerleaders on NBC, SEE BS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, but at least he's still a journalist instead of a propaganda hack regurgitating the WH talking points of the day.
There are times when O'Reilly goes into contortions in order to give Obama undeserved benefits of a doubt. Greta is another leftie, but also a pro. She says things like they are and no spin. I think the simple reason for Fox's ratings annihilating all the other news outlets is that people recognize they are getting a lot closer to the truth there than at the Obama cheerleading networks, which put Obama in the WH and now having invested in his success so heavily, they find themselves obliged to do whatever they can to protect that investment. Wherefrom stems the behavior of the mainstream media as nothing more than the propaganda organ of the white house.
The moron they have at the WH for a communications director, a big fan of chairman Mao, I understand, has caused a lot of new people to tune in to fox to see what's wrong with the programming. I'll bet the Fox marketing department watching the Nielsen climb can hear the cash register ringing all day. The phrase, "you can't fix dumb", comes to mind with regard to this WH staffer. …Shurzet/AARP Blog

President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference. "Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn. Read more...
(1) Anita Dunn-ce, is a far left Liberal Socialist Marxist, pro Mao Tse Tung, Joseph Stalin, and pro Islamic Muslim, advocate.
The far left Liberal Nationalist Socialist Marxists is the Nazi State of America, trying to take over control over everything in America, private and public, controlling the media, especially Fox News because Fox actually criticizes and exposes Obama and the far left Liberal Nationalist Socialist Marxist hidden agendas... But as the far left playbook calls for, to accuse the right of what the left is actually doing, and then their other favorite play in the far left book, to accuse the right of racism... 2 of the far left favorite ways in their playbook, to discredit the right with personal attacks and false accusations... Gee, what else is new....
But they aren't fooling the American public...
They, Obama and the democratic party is the party of hate and evil, and will do and say anything, from verbal attacks to physical beatings, to intimidate and threaten the American people. We're not buying it and they will all be thrown out of office in the next elections in 2010 and in 2012.!!!!!

Fox News seems to enjoy being on the White House's enemies list. The last president to keep a press enemies list was Richard Nixon.
Singling out a so called enemy or source usually works out well for the “enemy” and not for the White House.
A festering enmity between the Obama administration and the cable network boiled over Sunday when The New York Times quoted White House communications director Anita Dunn as saying of Fox: “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent.”
Fox Senior Vice President for News Michael Clemente fired back at what he called the White House’s “attack mentality.”
“Perhaps the energy would be better spent on the critical issues we are worried about,” Clemente said in a statement the network issued.
If Fox’s ratings are any clue, the administration’s attacks seem to be having the opposite of their desired effects. As of last week, the network has averaged 1.2 million viewers throughout the year, up from around 1 million viewers a year ago. This surpasses the network’s previous viewership record of 1.1 million viewers, which was set in 2003, the year the war began in Iraq.
In June, President Obama attacked Fox without mentioning it by name, saying it was devoted entirely to attacking his administration and that its coverage of his actions were all negative.
“Every time they [attack], our ratings go up,” Bill Shine, Fox’s senior vice president for programming, told the Times.
A Fox executive who declined to be identified said the attacks could solidify the network’s base. He quoted Fox Chairman Roger Ailes as having said: “Don’t pick a fight with those who like to fight.”
Paul Rittenberg, the network’s top ad executive, said, “People who watch Fox News believe it is the home team,” but Democrats don’t see it that way because of its critical coverage of the president and his political agenda.
Dunn’s comments followed press reports that Ailes had met with top Obama adviser David Axelrod for coffee in New York in what Politico called “a Fox summit.”
The White House communications director also took aim at controversial comments various Fox hosts have made against the administration.
These have included comments by immensely popular host Glenn Beck, whose 5 p.m. show has become a “cultural phenomenon,” with 3 million viewers, according to Shine.
Beck was credited with forcing the resignation of former green jobs czar Van Jones, whom he described as a “communist-anarchist radical.”
Weeks earlier, Beck came under attack from the Color of Change, a group Jones helped found, after he called the president “racist” during a Fox and Friends segment, which prompted several advertisers to pull their spots from his program.
Rittenberg, however, says the boycott has had no impact on Fox’s revenue because the advertising has been shifted to other parts of the day.
The administration also bristles about certain hosts' advocacy of the Tea Party movement.
Fox recently bolstered its Fox Business unit by hiring libertarian journalist John Stossel away from ABC, and it reportedly is trying to woo administration critic Lou Dobbs away from CNN. Dobbs met with Ailes last month over dinner, the Times reported.
“As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that is the way legitimate news agencies behave,” Dunn said.
Last month, the president appeared on all of the major networks’ Sunday talk shows except for Fox News Sunday, which the White House called an “ideological outlet.” This prompted Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace to call the administration “the biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with in my 30 years in Washington.” Similar statements have been made by media from both parties.
Dunn dismissed Wallace’s comments as juvenile and said the administration would talk with Fox but said the White House would not "legitimize them as a news organization.”
The network defends its presentation of the news as objective during its news hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., including the anchor Sheppard Smith's evening newscasts. Dunn even acknowledged that Fox reporter Major Garrett, its chief White House correspondent, is fair.
Fox must be doing something right. The New York Times has assigned a full-time reporter to just watch Fox for stories, because they have been the lead on many stories that the NY Times and other news outlets, including Charlie Gibson, missed completely... Van Jones.
Fox news is now the most popular news outlet on both cable and so called mainstream media. They now have more viewers at 3a.m. than CNN has at prime time. In an independent poll of all the major outlets Fox also showed that their viewership is the most balanced of all the networks and cable channel, including conservatives, independents and yes… even liberals who voted for Obama, say that they got the best range of information from Fox, whose motto for their news programs is ‘fair and balanced’.
Americans are getting it!! Conservative Media of all types soar. The White House response… silence them!
Media Ignoring Conservatives' Return to Dominance of Political Book Market
Conservatives are resuming their historically dominant position atop the New York Times and Amazon.com bestsellers lists after a short hiatus that coincided, not coincidentally, with George W. Bush's tenure in the White House.
While the mainstream media raved about a new era of leftist intellectual supremacy during the liberal ascendance on the bestsellers lists, the return of conservative books to the tops of those lists seems to be going unnoticed.
Amazon, which, unlike the New York Times, ranks books according
to the number of actual copies sold, shows Glenn Beck's Common Sense rounding out the top, with Michelle Malkin's Culture of Corruption coming in a close second. Ron Paul's End the Fed comes in at number seven, Mark Levin's Liberty and Tyranny is at number nine, and at number 22 is Dick Morris and Eileen Mcgann's Catastrophe, which carries the blunt sub-heading, "How Obama, Congress, and the special interests are transforming... a slump into a crash, freedom into socialism, and a disaster into a catastrophe... and how to fight back."
Primetime Cable Rankings Aug 09: Fox #3, CNN #22, MSNBC #25
By Kevin Allocca on Sep 01, 2009 07:02 PM
In August, Fox News was again in the top three for primetime in all of cable, which is seven of eight months this year. FNC was also in the top five in total day.
FNC had the top 11 programs in cable news for Total Viewers in August and 9 of the top 10 in the A25-54 demo ("The O'Reilly Factor," "Hannity," and "Glenn Beck" leading the way in both, respectively). MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" came in #12 in Total Viewers (#9 in demo) and "Rachel Maddow" came in #16 (#11 demo). CNN's "Larry King Live" ranked #13 in Total Viewers and #13 in the demo. Fox News' strong showing in the demo helped make August their best month in primetime demo for 2009.

President Obama said Monday that light bulbs will have to meet tougher efficiency standards in order to slash energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr. Obama's announcement came three days after the House of Representatives passed a sweeping climate bill that is the centerpiece of the president's plan to curb carbon dioxide emissions, reform the nation's energy markets and tackle global warming.
Backers say the bill that passed the House of Representatives late last week is designed to move the nation toward a clean energy economy, but its fate in the Senate is uncertain. Administration officials have been anxious to maintain the momentum on the issue as lawmakers return to their districts for a weeklong Fourth of July recess.
"I know light bulbs may not seem sexy," Mr. Obama said, "but this simple action holds enormous promise because 7 percent of all the energy consumed in America is used to light our homes and our businesses."
Mr. Obama told reporters that the tougher standards for fluorescent and incandescent light bulbs will help consumers save $4 billion a year on energy bills between 2012 and 2042. The standards will also conserve enough electricity to power every home in America for 10 months, reduce carbon emissions equal to the amount produced by 166 million cars each year and eliminate the need for as many as 14 coal-fired power plants, he added.
Republicans accused Mr. Obama of focusing on small measures while ignoring more market-friendly alternatives.
"Everyone wants more efficiency, but the president is simply dropping the ball when it comes to the big picture on energy," said Michael Steel, a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio.
Mr. Steel said House Republicans have a offered a comprehensive "all of the above" plan for a cleaner, healthier environment, lower costs and less dependence on foreign oil.
Standing beside Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Mr. Obama said the White House will lead the way by identifying and replacing wasteful light bulbs.
A 2007 energy bill passed by Congress allowed the Energy Department to issue energy conservation standards for home appliances, as well as fluorescent and incandescent lamps. Mr. Obama asked Mr. Chu in February to speed up the rule-making process and the light bulb standards announced Monday which go into effect in 2012 are a key part of the larger effort.
Mr. Obama said that commercial and residential buildings must also be made more efficient because they consume 40 percent of the nation's energy and cause 40 percent of its carbon emissions.
The president said implementing more-efficient heating and cooling systems, windows, smart sensors and controls will make buildings 80 percent more efficient. Adding solar panels on roofs and geothermal energy from underground could lead to "net zero" buildings that consume virtually no energy or create as much energy as they use.
"Now, progress like this might seem farfetched. But the fact is we are not lacking for ideas and innovation; all we lack are the smart policies and the political will to help us put our ingenuity to work," he said.
To expedite the development, deployment and use of this energy-efficient technology, Mr. Obama released $346 million in funding from the economic stimulus bill he passed in February.
"The nation that leads the world in creating a new clean energy economy will be the nation that leads the 21st century global economy. That's our choice," he said.

Obama Flipflopping on Campaign Tax Promise... To Pay For Climate Bill and Nationalized Healthcare Bill. Stop the insanity... Wake-up Ameica, Stand-up America and Make Obama Keep His Promises!!!!
Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen got to “make out” with British billionaire and Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson on the curvy couch on the After the Show Show (ASS) yesterday.* F&F co-anchor Steve Doocy gleefully stoked the fires. (For viewers who did not see it yesterday, F&F was more than happy to offer another prurient peep today.)*
ASS was quite a bit more risque than usual yesterday. Throughout the segment, bawdy humor abounded. Steve joked that the Virgin Airlines PJ changing area was the Mile High Club room. Branson immediately jested, “Exactly. And now with our space progam coming up, it will be the 180 Mile High Club. As to the origin of the airline’s name, Branson repeated Steve’s alleged conjecture that it was so dubbed because it would not go all the way. (He explained that actually it was because he started business because he was only fifteen when he started in business.)
However, ASS got steamier when the topic turned to Branson’s Virgin glamor girl publicity shoots. Noting that five years ago Branson had picked up Pamela Anderson but yesterday he hoisted Kate Moss, Steve teased, “You just can’t bench press what you used to be able to? Are you looking for smaller girls?” In response, chuckling, Branson rushed toward Gretchen, saying, “Well, let’s see. What do we got here?” Gretchen screamed, “Oh, no! Oh, no! No!” As Sir Branson tried to lift F&F’s damsel in distress, one understood why she resisted so and had color coordinated beforehand.
After Branson relented amidst howls of laughter, he embraced Gretchen tightly as she exclaimed, “Oh, my god! I haven’t been swept off my feet in a while, Buddy! Alright? Flattered and flustered, she animatedly added, “Hello! Oh my goodness! Could we make sure we get a still photo of that? If I could make that like into an 11×14 in my office.” When Steve remarked, “That’s your screen saver,” Gretchen heartily concurred, “Definitely!”
As the segment concluded, still holding Gretchen, Bronson joked, “Could we turn the light out, please.?” As the F&F floor crew complied and added mood music to boot, Branson playfully acted as if he were friskily frolicking with her as she saucily screamed. As the lights came back on, Branson kissed her hand and said, “It’s been a pleasure.” Gretchen responded, “No kidding! Could you stop back in tomorrow?”
Probably not. But, Branson certainly gave Gretchen a Virgin flight of fancy.
When is Barack Obama going to learn that presidents shouldn't play press critic? It didn't work for Richard Nixon. It didn't work for Bill Clinton or George W. Bush. It didn't help John McCain win the White House, and it won't help Obama, who vented his frustration with Fox News during an interview on CNBC yesterday.
"I've got one television station that is entirely devoted to attacking my administration," Obama told John Harwood, who had asked him how he felt about coverage of his administration. "That's a pretty big megaphone. You'd be hard-pressed if you watched the entire day to find a positive story about me on that front."
Fox News (which Obama pettishly declined to name) is indeed a big megaphone -- big and getting bigger. And that's no accident. As I've written before, Fox is big because it speaks to an audience that doesn't feel its concerns represented elsewhere on TV (and, yes, because Roger Ailes is a pro at producing slick, loud, button-pressing programming in general). For Obama to turn his back on that audience because he doesn't feel like he gets a fair shake from Fox would be a mistake. He all but acknowledged that himself during the campaign, when he finally granted an interview to Bill O'Reilly after being hounded for months.
That's not to say Obama has no grounds for complaint. Anyone who watches Fox for a few minutes can tell that its default attitude towards him is skepticism. And that perception of Fox is backed up by research. The Center for Media and Public Affairs, which analyzed evening newscasts earlier this year, determined that Fox was alone in offering more negative than positive comments on Obama. The Project for Excellence in Journalism found much the same when it looked at coverage of Obama's first 100 days in office.
But just because you're right doesn't mean you're well-advised to go around saying so. Obama, who lectured Ailes in person at a secret meeting last summer, may think he can browbeat Fox into being nicer to him. He can't. Fox made its bones on the notion that it, alone among TV networks, is not part of the Liberal Media Conspiracy. For Obama to single out Fox for censure only confirms that impression. Not to mention that Obama's complaining about Fox's darts while gratefully basking in MSNBC's equal-but-opposite tilt sounds suspiciously like whining. (David Zurawik called Obama's diss of Fox News "a childish, silly bit of gamemanship by a president.")
Above all, it's futile. For whatever reason, Fox's ratings have climbed in recent months as the network's stridency towards him has escalated. As long as that trend keeps up, no amount of finger-wagging from the Oval Office is going to make a difference.
Wow... CNBC has always been in the bag for OBAMA and now ABC and OBAMA Has the Nerve to take A Swipe at Fox...virtually the only fair and balanced coverage on the tube!?!

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE Tue Jun 16 2009 08:45:10 ET
On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!
Highlights on the agenda:
ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.
The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.
The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.
Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:
Dear Mr. Westin:
As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.
Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.
In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.
Respectfully, Ken McKay Republican National Committee Chief of Staff

ABCNEWS Senior Vice President Kerry Smith on Tuesday responded to the RNC complaint, saying it contained 'false premises':
"ABCNEWS prides itself on covering all sides of important issues and asking direct questions of all newsmakers -- of all political persuasions -- even when others have taken a more partisan approach and even in the face of criticism from extremes on both ends of the political spectrum. ABCNEWS is looking for the most thoughtful and diverse voices on this issue.
"ABCNEWS alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president. Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience."

Then they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat.
Then they came for the trade unionists, I did not protest; I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics, I did not protest; I was a Protestant.
Then they came for the Jews, I did not speak out; I was not a Jew.
When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.
