Obama and his rich pals think you are just another useful idiot like the Occupy (OWS) crowd.

While Obama seeks to enact the “Buffett Rule” to place a higher tax burden on families/small businesses who make $250K per year or more, his Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is suing Warren Buffett.

Obama’s pal just doesn’t want to pay his taxes… but he has no problem stumping for Obama and calling for a higher tax burden on families and small businesses.

“Get this: Uncle Sam is suing Warren Buffett's company over taxes. Yes, taxes. The US government, in a little-followed case in Ohio, filed a lawsuit this month against a unit of Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, seeking $366 million in taxes and penalties. The Berkshire division at the centre of the suit is NetJets, the private-aircraft company that caters to the nation's wealthiest - the people Buffett says should pay more in taxes.

It is an odd twist that a company controlled by Buffett - perhaps the most outspoken businessman in the country in support of raising taxes on the 'mega-rich' - is now in a dispute with the government over his company's paying too little in taxes.”

But it gets better… Buffett’s NetJets has now filed a lawsuit against the IRS.

“Now, NetJets and its sister division, which have filed their own suit against the IRS, say they "are stuck with a $642 million-plus bill for past taxes the IRS never indicated they were required to collect".

Obama’s rich friends do not want to pay their taxes, but they want to instill envy in the hearts of the uneducated and sing their “tax the rich” song.

Obama’s pal and Jobs Adviser, Jeffrey Immelt, has benefited since Obama took office through the same tax loopholes that Obama criticizes on the campaign trail. General Electric paid no Taxes in 2009, General Electric Paid No Federal Taxes in 2010.

“…GE's success at avoiding taxes is nothing short of extraordinary. The company, led by Immelt, earned $14.2 billion in profits in 2010, but it paid not a penny in taxes because the bulk of those profits, some $9 billion, were offshore. In fact, GE got a $3.2 billion tax benefit.”

Before blindly jumping on the “Tax the Rich” bandwagon, people should ask two simple questions:

1. If Obama makes people pay even more in taxes, will I get some of that money? (Answer = No).
2. Why are Obama’s millionaire and billionaire friends unwilling to pay more in taxes themselves?

Obama's Second-Term Taxes

If Obama is reelected, the tax increase he and a Democratic Congress would impose on middle- and upper-middle-income Americans would be disastrous. It's easy to lose sight of his tax plans because he has hidden them in a variety of nooks and crannies, including the Simpson-Bowles Commission Report, the Pelosi budget of 2009 and the various tax proposals advanced by his party. But, should he win, they will all come out of hiding, and together, they will be the principal legislative thrust of his efforts in 2013.

For a couple making $250,000, these tax hikes would add another $3,000 to $4,000 a month in taxes (depending on whether they were self-employed).

For a couple making $150,000, they would add another $1,200 to $1,400 per month.
Let's all realize that Obama let a massive deficit accumulate precisely because he realized that doing so gave him the leverage he would need to raise taxes and increase, permanently, the size of government in America. Reagan let the deficit pile up so liberals couldn't spend more money. Obama did so in order to make conservatives vote for higher taxes.

How will he tax us? Let us count the ways:

• Most basic, of course, will be an increase in tax rates. Those paying 33 percent will now pay 36 percent. People paying 35 percent will now pay 40 percent. Most people accept and expect that Obama will raise these brackets if he is reelected. But they don't realize what else he will do.

• As he advocated in the 2008 campaign, he will eliminate the ceiling on wages that must be taxed for Social Security. Currently, wages are taxed at 6.2 percent (now, temporarily, at 4.2 percent) up to a ceiling about $100,000 per year in income. The ceiling rises with the cost of living. But Obama will eliminate the ceiling and subject all wages to FICA taxation. (In his campaign, he spoke of a "carve-out" for those making between $100,000 and $200,000, where income would be exempt from FICA, but don't count on it.) For those who are employed, the increase in FICA taxes will mean an effective increase in their tax bracket of 6.2 percentage points. For the self-employed, it will mean a whopping 12.4 percentage point increase, bringing their effective tax rate, if they are in the top bracket, over 52 percent. Obama has refrained from addressing Social Security's financial problems and will do so until after the election. But his solution will be higher taxes, not curtailed benefits.

• All deductions for mortgage interest, charitable giving and state and local tax payments would likely end for those making more than $250,000.

• Even for those making less than $250,000, the Bowles-Simpson recommendations call for replacing the current tax deduction for mortgage interest, charitable giving and state and local taxes with a tax credit. Usually 8 percent is mentioned as the tax credit level.

† Living In These Mad, Mad, Madoff Times: Birth rates in 48 states and the District of Columbia fell sharply during the recession, according to a report by the Pew Research Center. The New York Times reports:

According to preliminary data from 2010, the rates dropped to 64.7 births per thousand women ages 15 to 44, from 69.6 births per thousand women in 2007, the year the recession began. …

The link between financial distress and lower rates of childbirth surfaced clearly in the regional data. North Dakota, with one of the lowest unemployment rates in 2008, about 3 percent, was one of two states to show a slight increase in its birth rate from 2008 to 2009. The other was Maine.

In all other states, birth rates declined, said Gretchen Livingston, the lead author of the report. Arizona had the deepest decline in its birth rate, down by 7.2 percent.

“What people seem to be doing is not so much deciding not to have children, but postponing until things start to recover,” she said.

What isn’t dropping is birth rates of illegals and illegals coming into America to give birth plus the birth rates of Muslims in the U.S.

While the citizens of Western civilizations have been preoccupied with their own selfish interests, those of the Islamic world have been busy populating a world their children and grandchildren will control. In America, Canada, and Europe, the citizens have been limiting the number of children in their families. † Obama Creating Green Jobs That Americans Won’t Do: Believe it or not, Solyndra is small peanuts – at least compared to SunPower, another failed taxpayer-funded “green energy” company that was touted by Interior Secretary Kenneth L. Salazar in October 2010 (“The path to a clean energy economy starts here, in places like SunPower’s research and development facility.”). In a well-researched article, Human Events describes how the “failing California solar company, buffeted by short sellers and shareholder lawsuits” was able to snag a $1.2 billion federal loan guarantee “for a photovoltaic electricity ranch project – three weeks after it announced it was building new manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico, to build the panels for the project.” When all is said and done, there will be just 15 permanent jobs for U.S. workers – at a cost to taxpayers of $80 million each – which is “a little high, even for the current Obama administration,” Human Events notes.

If there is a bright side to this mess, it’s that Solyndra’s meltdown may have pulled the plug on $6.5 billion in government loan guarantees that had been granted "conditional" approval but “suddenly disappeared from [the Department of Energy’s] roster.” The Wall Street Journal reports an interesting twist to the $1.9 billion in taxpayer largess slated to be awarded to CA solar-panel farm First Solar:

In August the company posted a 62% drop in second-quarter income, and its stock, which traded at $170 in February, is now $57 a share.

Energy did move ahead with two separate conditional loan guarantees for First Solar, though at reduced amounts – $646 million (rather than $680 million) for a solar farm in Lancaster, California, and $1.5 billion (rather than $1.8 billion) for a farm in Riverside County. The approvals came as First Solar announced it had sold the Lancaster farm to utility giant Exelon and the second to General Electric and NextEra Energy Resources. So taxpayers are now underwriting solar subsidies not for start-ups but for the biggest of big business.

As it happens, GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt is a close personal friend of President Barack Hussein Obama’s and is also chairman of the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Clearly, the aim is to ensure that investors in green energy companies that tank will recover their capital, not creating “green jobs of the future.”

A new report by the Labor Department's Office of Inspector General found that a $500 million stimulus grant to a program that trained 53,000 workers for “green jobs” graduated 1,033 who remained employed for at least six months – but that many of these positions already existed and had been “relabeled” as green jobs. “Bus drivers, Environmental Protection Agency regulators, university professors teaching ecology, and even the Washington lobbyists who secure energy loan guarantees count as green employees for the purposes of government counting,” The Wall Street Journal reports.

So the “green economy” is not only a scam, it’s also a sham.

The United States has been wary to intervene in matters affecting Christians in the Middle East for fear of validating terrorist narratives that the West is engaged in a new crusade against Islam. The result of this passive policy has been to allow Islamic extremists increasingly to dominate the debate, often with tragic consequences.

On Sunday in Egypt, a clash between Coptic Christians and the military left at least 25 dead. Copts are the largest religious minority in Egypt, representing about 10 percent of the population. Attacks on the Copts have increased since former President Hosni Mubarak's ouster. That the military was involved in this incident was a signal that matters are taking a turn for the worse. The White House issued a lukewarm condemnation noting that President Obama is "deeply concerned about the violence in Egypt" and that "as the Egyptian people shape their future, the United States continues to believe that the rights of minorities – including Copts – must be respected." In other words, the U.S. government will do nothing about the massacre of Christians.

† Restorative Capital Punishment: A New Haven Superior Court jury convicted Joshua Komisarjevsky of all 17 charges against him, including capital felony killing, kidnapping and sexual assault (related article, sixth item on the page), The Associated Press reports:

Komisarjevsky's co-defendant, Steven Hayes, was sentenced to death last year after he was convicted of raping and strangling Jennifer Hawke-Petit and killing her daughters, 11-year-old Michaela and 17-year-old Hayley, who died of smoke inhalation.

The only survivor of the attack, Dr. William Petit, bit his lip and closed his eyes as the verdict was read.

"I thought from the beginning that he was a lying sociopathic personality and probably at this moment he doesn't think he is guilty of anything," he told reporters outside the courthouse.

The penalty phase, during which the jury will decide whether Komisarjevsky, 31, should be executed or sentenced to life in prison, is scheduled for October 24^th.

† A To Z Approach On Illegal Immigration In AZ: The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta further whittled down the provisions of AL’s new anti-illegal immigration law that the state could enforce while it considers the Justice Department's request to strike it down altogether (related article, eighth item on the page), FOX News reports:

Alabama cannot prosecute illegal immigrants for not carrying registration documents with them at all times or require schools to check the immigration status of all students.

But the court said Alabama, among other things, can require police officers to verify the immigration status of anyone they lawfully stop if they suspect they are in the country illegally. Illegal immigrants will also be prohibited from obtaining a license to drive, get a vehicle or open a business.

The Justice Department opposes Alabama's law, claiming it invites discrimination against foreign-born citizens and legal immigrants and is at odds with federal policy. But state officials say the law is necessary to protect the jobs of legal residents.

A final decision on the law won't be made for months to allow time for more arguments.

Another provision of the law that can still be enforced prohibits state and local government agencies from entering into contracts with illegals.

Is Jay Leno saying goodbye to 10 p.m.?

It looks like Jay Leno's 10 p.m. show might soon be moving.

TMZ is reporting, from unnamed sources, that Leno will go on hiatus Feb 1, and that after the Olympics, the late-night funnyman will take back his 11:30 p.m. PM time slot. What that means to Conan O'Brien, no one knows.

This follows a Daily Beast report today that said NBC was "pedaling away" from its decision to run Leno every night at 10, to which NBC issued the following statement:

"Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay's show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance." (This is code for we were stupid, as many viewers told us. Leno should always have stayed as host of the Tonight Show and forcing him out was shamelss... and Conan is the wrong guy for that time slot! Oh and we are not only corrupt... we are stupid!)

Daily Beast's Kim Masters says NBC appears to be planning a change just days before it announces new mid-season programming Sunday at a gathering of television critics in Pasadena.

Anyone could have told NBC (subsidiary GE… a back-pocket Obama Company) that Jay should have been allowed to stay in his light night spot for as long as he was willing… that was obvious to just about everyone, logical and good business. Conan is a late late night kinda guy!

And mind you… these (NBC/GE) are the same people who keep trying to sell us on Global Warming (in TV ads and a variety of other owned media) as most of America (and even Copenhagen) have been freezing since early Fall and who stand to make a fortune on stealing your private info for the government from electronically centralizing your medical records into a huge database for Big Brother… already provided for, not in the Healthcare Bill, but snuck into the stimulus or was it the TARP bill?

Makes you feel safe and secure doesn’t it?? Your info in the hands of people who can’t figure out that the number one rated late night talk show host who is on your network is worth keeping there… controlling your personal data for a government who can’t put a guy’s name on the ‘no fly list’ after his own father alerted the CIA several times… using your info to tax you to transform America into something most Americans don’t want and even fear…??

Obama helps strengthen General Electric-Putin ties

Reuters reports an interesting nugget in the wake of President Barack Obama's decision to grant Vladimir Putin his wish and kill the Eastern European missile shield:

Shortly after the pullback on the shield programme was announced, Russia's government said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would meet several U.S. executives on Friday from firms including General Electric, Morgan Stanley as well as TPG, one of the world's largest private equity firms. GE also owns NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and is in line for the contract to manage all heath records if ObamaCare (any of the present bills being considered) passes, giving the government total access to your health information and history as well as your bank account. They also are inline to receive huge Cap and Trade Contracts if that bill passes. The GE Combine will make Enron look like kindergartners play!

General Electric may be the company with the closest ties to the Obama administration (if not, GE is second only to Goldman Sachs), and here we see the company benefiting from an abrupt foreign policy change made by President Obama. But GE isn't the only company benefiting. Reuters paints the broader picture:

"U.S. companies have arguably lost out to some European companies in joint ventures, and better diplomacy will likely improve the chances for investors in the strategic sectors of the Russian economy," said Carlo Gallo, senior Russia analyst at London-based consultancy Control Risks.

GE CEO Jeff Immelt sits on Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board, and GE owns MSNBC, the network famously friendly to Obama.

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.

Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:

Dear Mr. Westin:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

An Environmentalist's Thesaurus

'Global warming' is so passé.  This would be hysterical… if it wasn’t so scary and devious!

Some experts think the environmentalist movement has an image problem. According to them, greens are losing the battle against primeval despoilers of Nature's awesome bounty because they continue to use antiquated, in-your-face terms like "global warming," "cap and trade," and yes even "the environment." So says a new report by ecoAmerica, a cutting-edge, Washington-based nonprofit that specializes in environmental marketing and messaging, as reported in the New York Times (henceforth known as the Green Lady).

According to ecoAmerica, which has conducted rigorous, focus-group research in this area, environmentalists are taking it on the chin because politically charged terms like "global warming" conjure up images of hirsute, confrontational '60s types. "When you say 'global warming,'" Robert M. Perkowitz, ecoAmerica's president and founder, told the Times, "a certain group of Americans think that's a code word for progressive liberals, gay marriage and other such issues."  How about… the fact that it is just a wrong assumption?

Sadly, Mr. Perkowitz never explained how this "certain group" manages to draw a connection between global warming and gay marriage. And it must be said, I'd love to see his raw data on the subject.

In any event, to right the listing ship of sustainable biodiversity, ecoAmerica recommends that environmentalists mothball the textured scientific lingo and get right down to the nitty-gritty. That means ditching excessively technical terms like "carbon dioxide" and substituting catchy phrases like "moving away from the dirty fuels of the past."

EcoAmerica also recommends jettisoning the cumbersome term "the environment" and replacing it with the infinitely more felicitous "the air we breathe, the water our children drink." The organization probably got paid tons of money for this high-level research, so its advice should not go unheeded…?

Clearly, ecoAmerica is on to something with this bold initiative. But perhaps the subtle neologisms it's proposed don't go far enough. No one pays any attention to bloodless expressions like "depletion of the ozone layer" anymore. Moreover, "depletion" is a stupid word, since what it's supposed to decry is "catastrophic destruction" of the ozone layer, not its mere shrinkage.

What is needed here is more graphic language that the man on the street can understand. Thus, instead of saying something like "If mankind continues to deplete the ozone layer, we will cause irreparable damage to the environment," activists should say: "If we keep using the dirty fuels of the past to mess up that awesome thing in the sky that prevents our butts from like totally frying at the beach, then we might as well just spew filth into the air we breathe and the water our children drink and all curl up and die right now. Am I right, or what?"

Anyone can see how more colorful, less partisan, less politically rancorous language would enable environmentalists to seize the higher ground. Now it no longer sounds like some prissy elitist's butt that's going to fry. It could be somebody in a trailer park. Maybe even Dick Cheney.

There are many other environmentalist catchphrases that could use fine-tuning. "No carbon footprint" is a term so trendy, so precious, that it cannot help but reinforce the image of environmentalists as condescending do-gooders. Surely something less deviously euphemistic would work better.

Instead of hanging a sign in the window reading, "As of midnight Tuesday, this dining establishment will no longer leave a carbon footprint," restaurant owners could hang a placard reading: "Starting Tuesday, we will no longer allow disgusting fumes to belch all over the food your kids are eating and stinking up the air you breathe. We already warned the cook."

Similarly, instead of talking about "the melting of the polar ice cap," a phrase too apocalyptically antediluvian to scare anyone anymore, environmentalists should start referring to "dead polar bears in your driveway." "Degradation of habitat" could be replaced by a more evocative phrase like "torching Bambi's crib."

The one term environmentalists should probably deep-six, though, is "biological diversity." The ding-dongs who confuse "global warming" with gay marriage might think that biological diversity refers to features of the environment that only ethnic minorities care about. At this rate, we'll never get the planet back in working order.

As funny as this is… the process of rebranding the Green Movement by “the powers that be” and the companies like G.E. that will benefit from Cap-and-Trade and new Green Energy Project contracts” has begun…

The bottom-line here is that Global Warming is a farce.  The Earth has actually been (overall) cooling the past 10-years, but no matter how many scientists present their studies to Congress and the White House and no matter how much the American Public is against the new “Green” program because it will cost the American taypayer more money… a lot more money as well as 'lose jobs' not increase them at a time that America just can’t afford it... the powers that be trudge on!  Cap-and-Trade is a huge tax.  And 'two' jobs are actually lost in the United States for every 'one' Green job created.  As for Al Gore, is he evil?  No… just being used and a bit clueless!!  After all, he wants to be remembered for something and thinks he invented the Internet… and that should say it all.

Should we all care about the environment… absolutely!  Are there many issues that we should all get behind… stopping deforestation, cleaner disposal and recycling of our waste, loss of plant and animal species at an unimaginable rate, cleaner water, cleaner air… and the list goes on?  Should we encourage the world to stop procreating irresponsibly?… absolutely!  And should the world slowly and responsibly shift toward cleaner and renewable energy sources, with a little help from the government?... absolutely!  We should have started doing all this 40-years-ago when the flower children and hippies were protesting about it!  Just like we should have planned ahead and stopped borrowing from social security and Medicare and planned for the Baby-Boomer Retirement at least 20-year-ago.  I have books in my bookcase from 20 and even 40 years ago predicting and discussing all the above.  But if you are buying into the present Green movement (rebranding of Global Warming) and Cap-and-Trade… you are being had!

Before it is too late… educate yourself, and that does not mean watch the daily regular media news, especially NBC, whose parent company is General Electric (GE) and is in the bag for the Obama White House and that has and stands to make billions.  They already have received $139 Billion from the FDIC in bailout money.  HMMM… are they a bank?

"Factor" producer (and GE shareholder) Jesse Watters attended the annual GE shareholder meeting on April 21 in Orlando, Florida. During the Q&A period, Watters asked Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt about the recent ugly comments by Janeane Garofalo on MSNBC. Here is how Immelt - and the room full of stockholders - responded to the confrontation.

GE is the parent company of MSNBC and NBC News.  NBC is the most left leaning Obama pro network on the air that portrays itself as just "reporting the news".  They helped elect Obama and report pro Obama, pro Democratic Liberal Congress pro the Green movement to benefit themselves.  GE, a failing company, is hoping for rewards from the White House to promote Green Energy and help keep GE afloat; bailout money for Wind Turbine Energy.
