In his now famous "Evil Empire" speech, my father discusses his view of the Soviet Union, defends America's Judeo-Christian traditions and expresses his belief that these traditions were at the heart of the fight between the United States and the Soviet Union.
The Berlin Wall came tumbling down and the Soviet Union dissolved many years ago, but America is still at war with tyrannies and totalitarian nations and movements around the world. It is just as relevant today as when my father first delivered it.
My father delivered the "Evil Empire" speech to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida on March 8, 1983.
