Fox News seems to enjoy being on the White House's enemies list. The last president to keep a press enemies list was Richard Nixon.
Singling out a so called enemy or source usually works out well for the “enemy” and not for the White House.
A festering enmity between the Obama administration and the cable network boiled over Sunday when The New York Times quoted White House communications director Anita Dunn as saying of Fox: “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent.”
Fox Senior Vice President for News Michael Clemente fired back at what he called the White House’s “attack mentality.”
“Perhaps the energy would be better spent on the critical issues we are worried about,” Clemente said in a statement the network issued.
If Fox’s ratings are any clue, the administration’s attacks seem to be having the opposite of their desired effects. As of last week, the network has averaged 1.2 million viewers throughout the year, up from around 1 million viewers a year ago. This surpasses the network’s previous viewership record of 1.1 million viewers, which was set in 2003, the year the war began in Iraq.
In June, President Obama attacked Fox without mentioning it by name, saying it was devoted entirely to attacking his administration and that its coverage of his actions were all negative.
“Every time they [attack], our ratings go up,” Bill Shine, Fox’s senior vice president for programming, told the Times.
A Fox executive who declined to be identified said the attacks could solidify the network’s base. He quoted Fox Chairman Roger Ailes as having said: “Don’t pick a fight with those who like to fight.”
Paul Rittenberg, the network’s top ad executive, said, “People who watch Fox News believe it is the home team,” but Democrats don’t see it that way because of its critical coverage of the president and his political agenda.
Dunn’s comments followed press reports that Ailes had met with top Obama adviser David Axelrod for coffee in New York in what Politico called “a Fox summit.”
The White House communications director also took aim at controversial comments various Fox hosts have made against the administration.
These have included comments by immensely popular host Glenn Beck, whose 5 p.m. show has become a “cultural phenomenon,” with 3 million viewers, according to Shine.
Beck was credited with forcing the resignation of former green jobs czar Van Jones, whom he described as a “communist-anarchist radical.”
Weeks earlier, Beck came under attack from the Color of Change, a group Jones helped found, after he called the president “racist” during a Fox and Friends segment, which prompted several advertisers to pull their spots from his program.
Rittenberg, however, says the boycott has had no impact on Fox’s revenue because the advertising has been shifted to other parts of the day.
The administration also bristles about certain hosts' advocacy of the Tea Party movement.
Fox recently bolstered its Fox Business unit by hiring libertarian journalist John Stossel away from ABC, and it reportedly is trying to woo administration critic Lou Dobbs away from CNN. Dobbs met with Ailes last month over dinner, the Times reported.
“As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that is the way legitimate news agencies behave,” Dunn said.
Last month, the president appeared on all of the major networks’ Sunday talk shows except for Fox News Sunday, which the White House called an “ideological outlet.” This prompted Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace to call the administration “the biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with in my 30 years in Washington.” Similar statements have been made by media from both parties.
Dunn dismissed Wallace’s comments as juvenile and said the administration would talk with Fox but said the White House would not "legitimize them as a news organization.”
The network defends its presentation of the news as objective during its news hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., including the anchor Sheppard Smith's evening newscasts. Dunn even acknowledged that Fox reporter Major Garrett, its chief White House correspondent, is fair.
Fox must be doing something right. The New York Times has assigned a full-time reporter to just watch Fox for stories, because they have been the lead on many stories that the NY Times and other news outlets, including Charlie Gibson, missed completely... Van Jones.
Fox news is now the most popular news outlet on both cable and so called mainstream media. They now have more viewers at 3a.m. than CNN has at prime time. In an independent poll of all the major outlets Fox also showed that their viewership is the most balanced of all the networks and cable channel, including conservatives, independents and yes… even liberals who voted for Obama, say that they got the best range of information from Fox, whose motto for their news programs is ‘fair and balanced’.

No surprise. Obama is arrogantly proceeding to bring into the Whitehouse a team of people with radical, extreme leftist view points that cover the spectrum of anti-free speech, anti-free markets, anti-American and similar Marxist, Communist and socialist ideology that are in alignment with his own oft repeated leftist radical views. Just add this in with his belief in the blistering anti-American, racists hate speech of his church's pastor of over 20 years, his close association with criminal radical leftist groups like ACORN and the SEIU (run Google and YouTube searches on both of these organizations using their names and the words "fraud" and “Corruption”), his close association with domestic terrorist Marxist Bill Ayers, his practically being forced to wear an American flag on his lapel during the campaign, his refusing to show respect to this country by not placing his right hand over his heart during the singing of the National Anthem during the campaign, his recent orders to the Department of Defense not to allow for the first time in its 42-year history a military flyover in honor of veterans during the annual event in Idaho that celebrates the military and includes young people swearing the oath of allegiance to protect the country as part of their induction into the armed services, etc., etc., and it is becoming increasingly obvious that those of us who voted for him thinking that the version of "transformation and change to America" of which he spoke during the campaign was akin to that of JFK era of our youth are now awakening to the harsh reality that what he really meant was transforming this great country into a new socialist-fascist hybrid state with all power centered in the Whitehouse.
As evidence, consider just these few recent events:
Obama is busy is implementing his promised "fundamental transformation and change in America" (his words) by:
1. Engaging as one of his advisors Van Jones, a self-proclaimed Marxist, anti-free market, co-founder of several leftist radical extremist groups, and who has a criminal record, to advise him on domestic policy issues, or
2. Allowing the FCC to create a new "Cultural Diversity Officer" position and fill that post with ant-free speech radical activist Mark Lloyd, a self-proclaimed Marxist who is on record stating his admiration for Venezuela’s dictator Chavez for taking control of media outlets so that only the government's view points get aired publically and not any dissenting opinions, and who is proposing to have implemented a policy of shutting down dissenting radio talk shows (conservative and Christian today, but who knows what in he future once the precedent has been set) by requiring them to pay a broadcast license fee equal to their operating costs, effective making them unprofitable to stay in business, and who was co-founder of the leftist radical group “The Color of Change” that instigated the advertiser boycott of Glenn Beck’s TV show in the effort to silence him.
3. Favoring the recent introduction in Congress of legislation that grants Obama exclusive control over when and how to deny internet access to any personal or corporate computer system, and includes a requirement for the periodic reporting to him of the network IDs of all private and business computer networks, their users and purpose of use, or
4. Taking away from the non-partisan Census Bureau the conduct of the census, which is now controlled by the Whitehouse and carried out by members of the radical, leftist, criminal group ACORN (Google the words "ACORN fraud corruption") - a group that Obama use to serve as their National Training Coordinator, or
5. Taking away from the CIA the responsibility to interrogate terrorists suspects, freeing currently detained terrorists and prosecuting the CIA people who use to do the interrogation to protect America from terrorists (and it seems to be working well since 911), or
6. Calling for the creation of "...a civilian army, just as well trained, just as well funded and just as powerful as the military..." (his own words) that will answer to the Whitehouse and be comprised, according to Rahm "the Chicago Shark" Emanuel, of everyone between the ages of 18 to 25 who will be required to take "social justice training" (read: "socialist justice indoctrination/brain washing”). (I bet their uniforms are either ACORN-orange or SEIU-blue instead of brown like the "civilian army that a certain European dictator created some 70 years ago that Obama is using as a template for his youth stormtroopers.)

'Science Czar' John P. Holdren's disturbing beliefs about America, capitalism and humanity
John P. Holdren has been named President Barack Obama's 'Science Czar."
Holdren's official titles are: Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Assistant to the President for Science and Technology; and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
The longtime Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Holdren is no stranger to controversy.
Holdren's radicalism dates back to the late 1960s. In 1969 Holdren wrote that it was imperative “to convince society and its leaders that there is no alternative but the cessation of our irresponsible, all-demanding, and all-consuming population growth.”
That same year, he and (the now largely discredited) professor of population studies Paul Ehrlichjointly predicted: “If … population control measures are not initiated immediately and effectively, all the technology man can bring to bear will not fend off the misery to come.” In 1971 Holdren and Ehrlichwarned that “some form of ecocatastrophe, if not thermonuclear war, seems almost certain to overtake us before the end of the century.”
Viewing capitalism as an economic system that is inherently harmful to the natural environment, Holdren and Ehrlich in 1973 called for “a massive campaign … to de-develop the United States” and other Western nations in order to conserve energy and facilitate growth in underdeveloped countries.
“De-development,” they said, “means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.” “By de-development,” they elaborated, “we mean lower per-capita energy consumption, fewer gadgets, and the abolition of planned obsolescence.” "
In a new report “inspired by this article in FrontPage,” undercover videoblogger “Zombietime” (known for his “candid camera”-style exposes of leftist activists and protesters) got hold of a copy of Holdren & Ehrlich’s 1977 book, entitled Ecoscience, and verified the quotations and page citations provided in the FrontPage Magazine article, by scanning and posting them on the Internet.
Among other things, Holdren and Ehrlich wrote in Ecosystems:
Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.
It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.
Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.
After weeks of asking the White House to answer questions on the radical background and beliefs of Obama's Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, they STILL have not responded. Probably with good reason because the guy is a radical Marxist and has latched on to the Green jobs movement in order to achieve 'social justice.' Take a look at this video from waaaaaay back in 2009 where he says:

I want to take another look with some new audio now that I swear to you I cannot believe that there is no one in this country that is willing to take on this audio, that is willing to ask the tough questions. All he wants to do is create green jobs, right? That's like saying Sonia Sotomayor just wants to make the best decision based on the law. Then what's all this social justice thing? It has nothing to do with the laws. It has nothing to do with the Constitution. It's about social justice. Could the same thing be said about the green jobs? Because that's all he wants to do, remember, just create new green jobs. "Well, I hate to intrude with the facts here." But let's listen to Van Jones' own words. Granted, we do have to go way, way, way back. I mean, I don't even know how old Barack Obama was when this event happened. It was clear way back, time machine before April. Yes, yes. We have to go all the way back into the past to March, to the Power Shift '09 conference. Just before Van Jones was appointed as our president's special advisor, someone that would advise the president of the United States on how to create green jobs, just before that appointment he said this:
VAN JONES: This movement is deeper than a solar panel. Deeper than a solar panel. Don't stop there. Don't stop there. No, we're going to change the whole system. We're going to change the whole thing. We're not going to put a new battery in a broken system. We want a new system. We want a new system.
GLENN: We want a new system. We want a new system. A new system of what? He says he's talking about more than just solar panels. What are you talking about, wind energy? New system of what? Well, let's listen to the entire context of this statement. He is saying that this cannot be only about new forms of energy. Listen carefully, America.

VAN JONES: All we do is take out the dirty power system, the dirty power generation in a system and just replace it with some clean stuff, put a solar panel on top of this system. This is all you'll have. GLENN: When will America wake up? The left has started a revolution. No different than Hugo Chavez. When Hugo Chavez was elected, he was elected by Democratic process. But he did not tell the people when he was running that he was a communist. Can we stop claiming that this man, Van Jones, is an average everyday capitalist America, an American? Is that I mean, did that sound like you, Iowa? Did that sound like you, Nebraska? Did it sound like you, Texas? Did it sound like you, Florida, Georgia, Maryland? Did it sound like you, New Hampshire? It sure sounds like Berkeley, California, San Francisco, California, and now Washington, D.C. We must start having the necessary critical discussion of, do we want communists, radicals, revolutionaries in the United States government as special advisors to the president of the United States? Do we even want communists to have lunch with our president? I wasn't comfortable with Putin having lunch with Barack Obama. We had to do that. Barack Obama did not campaign openly on changing the whole system, or did he? Five days before the election this now tells us much.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.
GLENN: Are we changing the whole system? Very few Americans paid attention then. Are you paying attention now?
You know, I don't want to believe these things about our president. I didn't want to believe the things that I believed about George W. Bush, that he was in bed with gigantic global corporations, that he was harming our security by keeping our border on the south open for some God only knows reason. I didn't want to believe those things. I certainly didn't want to say those things. Those things hurt me financially. Those things hurt me to say. It hurt me in business; it hurts me as an American. Now I'm saying very similar things except the stakes have been raised. If our founding principles are somehow or another no longer relevant, if the system in which this country was founded is somehow unjust or unworkable now and communism, Marxism, socialism is the right and relevant path, then that is the discussion in a republic we have. But to subversively bring in a new system through the back door in the middle of the night and build it piece by piece by overwhelming the system, that is not acceptable. But this goes farther than whether Van Jones is a capitalist or a communist. Listen to what Van Jones said at this same conference.

GLENN: Is this Marxism? Is this socialism? Is this racism? Is this freedom of speech? Is this mainstream? What is this, America? History, our children, our grandchildren will demand an answer! No answer is not good enough! You will have to answer. If we lose man's freedom, you will have to answer at the foot of God. You will at least have to answer at the feet of your grandchildren. No answer, putting your head in the sand is no longer good enough. You must pay attention and you must demand an answer! That didn't sound familiar to you, those two things didn't sound alike to you? Let's try it again. Here's more from Van Jones. Again, to be fair, this is from the ancient history catalog from this past March.

GLENN: Where do you even begin on that? The wrong agricultural system. Now, this is from an interview he did as the head of the Ella Baker Center. VAN JONES: The white polluters and the white environmentals are essentially steering poison into the people of colored communities.
GLENN: Have you heard this any has the president ever been around anyone who has ever said anything like that before Van Jones?
REVEREND WRIGHT: The government lied about the Tuskegee experiment. They purposely infected African American men with syphilis.
GLENN: The president of the United States has tried to pass himself off as a guy who just sat in Jeremiah Wright's Black Liberation Theology church for 20 years. A friend. He's like an old uncle. He didn't even notice. He baptized Barack Obama's children. He baptized Barack Obama, but he never heard these things before. And even if he did hear them, he didn't really even notice. Okay, so that's the explanation for the crazy uncle. What is the explanation this time? What is the excuse this time for appointing the same type of radical, saying almost damn exact same words as Jeremiah Wright to an influential position in our government? Is it that you didn't vet these people?
Because gee, that sounds like a problem, that our president of the United States didn't vet him enough to know. Is it that the FBI didn't do its job? I mean, we found all of this stuff. Sure, I only have a staff of seven producing books, TV, radio shows, I only have a staff of seven. And all of a sudden we can come up with these things. Gee, you'd think the FBI or the president of the United States would surely be able to find these things.
When I asked the White House to answer, did you know of his radical past, the White House issued a statement. Their response was the green jobs special advisor is very narrowly focused on creating green jobs. As if that was an answer to the question of why this guy is in our government, anywhere near our president. It's not an answer. It's not an answer. And this one's not your crazy uncle. And this one's not way, way, way, way back in the past.
When let me rephrase this. How. How, America. I ask this sincerely. Show me where I have it wrong. I want to be wrong, but I can't find any other way to explain this. The president is wearing a mask. He has surrounded himself with radicals and revolutionaries. He has surrounded himself his whole life with radicals and revolutionaries. How? How? Please, help me. Read it another way. Show me the error of my ways. If you can't do that, show me how I can get this word out to more people. How do we wake people up? How do we wake Democrats up? Democrats, is that who you are? Are you this person? Do you believe those things? If you do, we're in much bigger trouble than I thought. I don't believe that's who the American people are. There are Democrats that I vehemently disagree with. I don't believe they think those things. He's not the only guy in this administration that feels this way! Look, I know this is the hard truth. I don't want to believe them, either. But these statements from Van Jones are from this last spring. I have more that I'm not prepared to release yet because it paints even a bigger, more terrifying picture, and I'm not going to release them until I can fill in all of the dots on this picture. But why am I the only one bringing you this? Why will no one bring this information? The answers that I can come up with, either they are afraid and I understand that or because they think it just doesn't matter. Am I the only American, just you and me? Is it just us? Are we the only one left that think that this might be important, the guy who is creating the green jobs is doing it to repay for smallpox blankets? Let me just leave you one more time with the words of the special advisor to the president of the United States.
