Crime Inc.

Thursday, April 29, 2010- By Glenn Beck

Beck:  The US Government has become Crime, Inc.

FNC

On Monday, we gave you a story and explained that you can't have financial regulation done by the crooks and thieves we currently have in Washington, D.C. The best way I can explain it is with George Clooney.

Do you remember the movie "Oceans 11"? They go in and rob the casino and Andy Garcia's character calls the police. But he wasn't really calling the police. When the cops arrived, it was George Clooney's team of crooks dressed up as cops. They rigged the phone lines and the real cops had no clue. Garcia actually called the robbers to come and help stop the crime they were committing.

So we're Andy Garcia on the day of the robbery: We call the police and these are the robbers.

This is what's happening; the only difference is there are trillions dollars at stake.

It's been 17 months since the financial scandal that resulted in entire life-savings being wiped out. No one's been arrested. And now Goldman Sachs is being painted as the bad guy. There are plenty of bad guys to go around. This question led us to show you what has turned out to be a wormhole of bad guys: the Chicago Climate Exchange.

Here's a quick review of what we've covered so far, to get you up to speed:

Cap-and-trade — what is it? It's the trading of puffs of air. Company A pollutes more than Company B. Company A must pay a fine, which is transferred to Company B, who earns a credit. The companies continue to pollute the exact same way, it just costs Company A more and Company B gets rewarded.

If I am going to build this into an industry, I need a to-do list:

First we have to put together a carbon exchange:

While Obama was on the Joyce Foundation board, the group steered $1.1 million in grants instrumental in developing and launching the privately owned Chicago Climate Exchange.

Now we need investors:

Al Gore's company — Generation Investment Management — is the fifth largest shareholder in the Chicago Climate Exchange. Gore's company has several former Goldman employees on the roster.

Then Goldman Sachs steps to the plate and buys 10 percent of the combined company.

Next we need the technology:

Fannie Mae, under the leadership of the Franklin Raines, purchases patent on system to trade residential carbon credits that was described as "how carbon and other pollutants yet to be determined" would be "combined into a single emissions pool" and traded — just as Fannie's toxic portfolio of subprime mortgages were. It appears Raines wasn't content with destroying only the housing market.

So you have the same crooked people who have contributed to the financial meltdown — Goldman, Fannie, socialists and out and out crooks — actually trying to "fix" the economy and the environment and, oh boy, believe me the fix is in.

Now we need the law:

Well, the law is cap-and-trade. Remember when cap-and-trade was supposed to happen right after health care? Well, immigration has Congress' attention now, so let's skip ahead to:

The cover:

Al Gore has been pushing cap-and-trade for quite some time. Obama has been pushing it as well. Many on the progressive left want it. Why? If it's about the environment, cap-and-trade is a proven failure. It's been tried it in Europe: failure. Now, a voluntary system — the Chicago Climate Exchange — is tanking. Why? Because you can't get people to voluntarily buy air, when there's plenty of air to go around. It's scam. It's like being at the beach and selling people a bucket of saltwater. I'm three steps away from the ocean — it's free.

The entire green movement can't stand on its own two feet and the only time anything green ever gets money is when it comes from government. Even some of the top scientists who believe in global warming say this won't do anything to stop companies from polluting. They'll just be paying a little more for it and companies like Enron were scheming to make money off of it — they even lobbied for cap-and-trade.

Some of the eco groups don't even do what they promise. The Vatican found this out when they became "carbon neutral," but not one tree was planted in Hungary's so-called "Vatican forest" for offsets. Who scams the pope? You want to know about warming? I got "eternal warming" for you.

So the question is: Why is it still being pushed? The redistribution of wealth and to enrich the corrupt.

We did a little digging and followed the money and the answers tell a familiar story. And before we get going on this, I just want to warn you: If there's one thing I'm learning about progressives, they really like creating groups. They've got tons of them and it seems they just pass the money from one to the next. It's almost like money laundering. It's why health care can pass: You don't know what the hell anyone is talking about and everyone always sounds so happy. Words and names of groups mean nothing. Unfortunately for them, people's faces still matter. We know them by reputation.

ILLUSTRATION BY JOE CIARDIELLO FOR TIME

Who'd have thought a history buff with a quirky sense of humor and a chalkboard could make for such riveting television? Glenn's like the high school government teacher so many wish they'd had, charting and connecting ideas with chalk-dusted fingers — kicking it old school — instead of becoming just another talking-heads show host. Self-taught, he's become America's professor of common sense, sharing earnestly sought knowledge with an audience hungry for truth. Glenn, 46, tackles topics other news shows would regard as arcane. Consider his desire to teach Americans about the history of the progressive movement: he's doing to progressive what Ronald Reagan did to liberal — explaining that it's a damaged brand.
His love of the Founding Fathers inspires others to learn and respect our nation's history. Best of all, Glenn delights in driving the self-proclaimed powers-that-be crazy. (The whole country awaits the red phone ringing!) Even his critics (whom he annihilates in ratings) have to admire his amazing ability to galvanize everyday Americans to better themselves and peacefully engage their government. Though he sometimes dismisses himself as an aw-shucks guy or just a "rodeo clown," he's really an inspiring patriot who was once at the bottom but now makes a much needed difference from the very, very top.

THE GREATEST SCANDAL IN MODERN HISTORY - Treason in Process

THE GREATEST SCANDAL IN MODERN HISTORY - Treason in Process

Updated, 4/28/2010 - Initial post, 4/27, 2:00pm CT
Both of these videos are from Monday evening, April 26th. The Financial Times article is from this Sunday. They are elements of the most extensive scandal perhaps, since original sin.
While the Beck video is even much more significant than this, the point is that Barack Obama nixed real reform in the Obamafinance bill. The transparency would have gotten in the way of the astounding plan of which he is a focal point. This entire interview is important, but be sure to listen, after the two minute mark, as Greta Van Susteren interviews Senator Jim DeMint.

Video:  DeMint on Financial Regulation Debate

Next, put that together with this story, out of Financial Times. This is where Barack Obama and his network are driving us. It is global corporatism, i.e., Marxofascism:

U.S. Prepares to Push for Global Capital Rules
Financial Times ^ | Sunday April 25, 2010 | Tom Braithwaite
The US is preparing to pivot from domestic regulatory reform to a push for a tough new international capital regime after the weekend’s G20 and International Monetary Fund meetings glossed over differences between leading economies.

Tim Geithner, US Treasury secretary, met Mario Draghi, chairman of the Financial Stability Board, on Sunday to discuss the contours of a system that would decide the safety and profitability of banks for decades to come and could eclipse the arguments over bank taxes and regulation.

One participant at a US Federal Reserve meeting this month to discuss the new regime said “full and frank” did not do justice to the furious response from some industry delegates.

continued at Financial Times

Next, we have Glenn Beck spelling out more of the story that Lord Christopher Monckton began to tell us, in October, 2009 and that Jesse Ventura related in one of his Conspiracy Theory programs. It has also been discussed by Brannon Howse and yes, by some of those "odd" conspiracy theory sites on the Internet (where there are human beings, conspiracy like fecal matter, happens).

Once again, of course, Barack Obama is front and center, along with the Chicago Climate Exchange, the Joyce Foundation, George Soros, Maurice Strong, Edmund de Rothschild, the Federal Reserve, Goldman Sachs, George W. Bush's Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, even Fannie Mae, and many others. It entails global Marxofascism / global kleptocracy, with Americans being the chief victims, while a few overlords rule at, and their financiers skim off, the top. If any "mainstream" reporters cared to cover this thoroughly (and could) they could be much bigger characters in U.S. and world history than Woodward and Bernstein. And as for Americans willingly instigating this, it is treason.

Here is a great part of their entire, one-world plan. Element by element, this beast is designed to virtually enslave, yes, the entire world. That includes the "nation" of America. That includes you.

H.R. 2499 - THEY ARE VOTING TODAY

(Information supplied to me via email by Eagle Forum on 4/28/2010)

This bill appears to be a rather vague - and we have learned that is exactly the intent of MOST legislation - especially legislation from this administration! Glenn Beck's show tonight reveals how this is actually going to sew another star on our flag.

Remember, concentrate on these targets and ask to speak with the Chief of Staff listed.

The way this bill is explained -

Supporters of HR 2499 state that this is simply a non-binding, self-determination process for the people of Puerto Rico. There’s nothing further from the truth.

The fact is that this is a Statehood Trap for both the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. House of Representatives.

The process is rigged to force voters to select one of the two least popular options. And then force Congress to admit Puerto Rico as a State under public pressure and charges of bigotry.

The rabidly pro-statehood New Progressive Party, known by its Spanish acronym “PNP,” controls both the governor’s office and the legislature in the self-governing U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Frustrated to the point of apoplexy that Puerto Ricans have rejected statehood and voted to remain a U.S. Commonwealth in all three elections in which they have voted on the issue, PNP leaders have decided to exert their one-party control of Puerto Rico’s government to implement their own version of the “nuclear option.”

This time however, the PNP is leaving nothing to chance. To avoid the possibility that Puerto Ricans might choose to remain a commonwealth again, in Hugo Chavez fashion they simply removed that option from the ballot.

In recent referendum on the status of the island, none of the three options have received a majority of the vote. Commonwealth always wins with a plurality of the vote. Statehood supporters believe that by having a first round vote focusing on Commonwealth Yes or No, the combination of statehood and independence supporters will guarantee that Commonwealth is eliminated as an option. After that vote, statehood is guaranteed to receive an overwhelming majority of voters who fear the economic and social consequences of independence.

The problem for the U.S. Congress is that under the vague language of HR 2499 statehood supporters will achieve a majority vote for statehood in a “congressionally sanctioned referendum”.

What happens next is spelled out in the 2008 Statehood Party Platform and in the local legislation (HR 2497) drafted to authorize the local referendum.

Eight months after statehood wins a majority vote, there would be another election to choose U.S. Senators and six or seven U.S. Representatives. “…after the term of 8 months has elapsed, the People shall be convened so that they may elect the Congressmen and Senators who shall become members of the United States Congress.” (Based on the current leadership - PNP - do you think that these representatives are going to be conservatives or progressives?)

The 2008 PNP platform says that Puerto Rico will follow the same strategy Tennessee used to gain admission to the Union in 1796. That is to dispatch its newly elected congressmen to Washington to demand their seats in Congress.

But the Puerto Ricans will have one weapon the Tennesseans didn’t.  As PNP leader and former Governor Carlos Romero Barceló, told local newspapers, “They [congressional leaders] will have to support [statehood] in order to avoid being accused of bigotry against Hispanics.  What happened to our post-racial society??

Obama Calls In Riot Police on Peaceful Tea Party… Mostly Moms and Grannies – Precursor of Things to Come~~

Video: Obama Calls In Riot Police on Peaceful Tea Party

Team Obama Calls Out Swat Team on Tea Party Patriots!

by Jim HoftBig Government

The SWAT Team was called in today at the Quincy Tea Party Rally. Obama was speaking at the convention center this afternoon.
Unreal.

They didn’t want any violence from these threatening protesters.

In Full Riot Gear!!

They were singing “God Bless America” …A sure sign of violence.

They were worried about violence.

Local Quincy Tea Party Leader Steve McQueen was directing protesters when the SWAT team was called in.

Please Read – Special Army Unit Ready to be Deployed on American Soil Just Before Nov. Elections

Think about it… Obama sends riot police out to peaceful tea party, refuses to send troops to secure the border or to help in Arizona and instead has professional protestors bussed in through SEIU and other organizations to agitate and riot against new Arizona law that mirrors the Federal law that he won’t enforce.

The Black Robe Regiment – What Was (Is) It?

If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discernment, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in Christianity, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.  ~ Rev. Charles Finney

Why does it seem that Americans are the only people on earth who are blind to the truth and ignorant of their history? Wherever you look, we can see the vision of freedom that once deluged our shores being swept away. We have to wonder how much longer our American Republic can survive.

Our government has become a great candy machine spewing out an endless stream of treats to lucky people, and we have to pay the bill for it! I’m talking about trillions of our hard-earned wages every single year, and the government’s appetite just keeps growing and growing, getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

What we need in this nation of ours is a political revolution, just like the one we had in 1776. Above all, I believe we need pastors and other Christian leaders who are willing to stand up to our current batch of spoiled secular bureaucrats, pastors who read and understand such great patriots as Noah Webster, who in his History of the United States wrote:

Almost all the civil liberty now enjoyed in the world owes its origin to the principles of the Christian religion…. The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His apostles, which enjoins humility, piety, and benevolence; which acknowledges in every person a brother or sister and a citizen with equal rights. This is genuine Christianity, and to this we owe our free constitution of government.

We need pastors who reject the lie that our national ideals stem from the influence of the French Enlightenment rather than from the Bible and Christianity, pastors who, with John Wingate Thornton, understand that “To the Pulpit, the Puritan Pulpit, we owe the moral force which won our independence.” We need pastors who realize that our independence today stems from one thing and one thing only: from the biblical concept that all men are created in the image of God, and because of this all men are entitled to equal treatment and unalienable rights.

In short, we need pastors who are willing to join today’s “Black Regiment.” The Black Regiment was a group of clergy who were fierce opponents of British tyranny and a driving force in the decision of the colonies to seek independence.Photograph of the statueKing George had provoked many of these men to leave England by demanding that they submit to licensing by the crown. He called them the Black Regiment because of the black robes they wore when preaching.

These men of God staunchly opposed the divine right of kings. Their cry was, “Restore the crown rights of King Jesus!” Many of them wrote impassioned pleas for freedom, and some even joined the Continental Army. When George Washington asked Lutheran pastor John Muhlenberg to raise a regiment of volunteers, Muhlenberg gladly agreed. Before marching off to join Washington’s army, he delivered a powerful sermon from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 that concluded with these words:

The Bible tells us there is a time for all things and there is a time to preach and a time to pray but the time for me to preach has passed away, and there is a time to fight, and that time has come now. Now is the time to fight! Call for recruits! Sound the drums!

Then Muhlenberg took off his clerical robe to reveal the uniform of a Virginia Colonel. Grabbing his musket from behind the pulpit, he donned his Colonel’s hat and marched off to war.

Pastor friend, will you join this patriotic host? Are you willing to say, “I will fight for the truth. I will be beholden to no one (whether a Democrat, Republican, or Other) except Jesus. I will stand up to the despots who are seeking to enslave us all by sending our children to their deaths as they build their New World Order and as they tax us into poverty. I will seek to bind our politicians with the chains of the Constitution. And I will do this for the glory of God and the advancement of Christian liberty.” Yes, the dues are high (radical obedience), but your treasure in heaven will more than amply repay.

May God give you the courage to join today!

If you know a pastor… please share this post/email  with them.

New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico

''This article is about the political party in Puerto Rico. For other political parties with similar names, see Progressive Party.
PNP.logo.gif
PNP logo with motto ("Statehood, Security, Progress")

The New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (Spanish: Partido Nuevo Progresista de Puerto Rico,PNP) is a political partythat campaigns for Puerto Rican statehood. It currently controls the Puerto Rican House of Representatives and Senate, while the governor of Puerto Rico,Anà bal Acevedo Vilá, is the leader of the opposition Popular Democratic Party of Puerto Rico.

Those who follow the PNP ideology are called penepés or estadistas ("statehooders"). Individuals from the PNP may have alliances with either the national Republican Party or the Democratic Party, unlike the Popular Democratic Party, which has strong identification with the Democratic Party. In its beginning, the majority of the PNP leaders were also members of the Republican Party, yet the last two elected PNP governors, Carlos Romero-Barceló, and Dr. Pedro Rosselló, are registered Democrats.

History

Foundation

The party traces its beginnings to a 1967 reunion in a sports complex in Carolina. On January 5, 1968, the party was certified as an official political group by the State Elections Commission of Puerto Rico. The party had roots in a prior pro-statehood party led by Miguel Angel Garcia Mendez. Part of the impetus congealed after the unsuccessful campaign in the Puerto Rico status referendum of 1967. Party founder and former Statehood Republican Party standard-bearer Luis A. Ferre defined the New Progressive Party that would not be aligned to any of the two national parties, and a party that opposed thecaudillista traditions of a Popular Democratic Party that shunned primaries and chose its candidates following the dictates and whims of party leader Luis Munoz Marin.
1960S
Under Luis A. Ferré, the PNP came to power in November 1968 by defeating Luis Negron Lopez, the chosen candidate of the PPD. Smaller vote totals were obtained by the Partido del Sol led by Roberto Sanchez Vilella and the candidate from thePIP. The governing party was saddled by the break-away candidacy of then-governor Vilella, who had feuded with the PPD leader, Luis Muñoz Marà n.
1970S
Four years later, in 1972, Ferré lost to the reunified PPD's candidate Rafael Hernández Colón, but in 1976, under the leadership ofCarlos Romero Barcelo, the PNP returned to power. Romero Barcelo would face Hernandez Colon two times for the seat of Puerto Rican governor.
1980S
Romero Barcelo won in 1980 by a narrow 3,000 vote margin. A prominent event during his term was a controversy wherein two young hoodlums, who had gone to Cerro Maravilla, the communications center for the island, to blow it up, were shot dead (also see:Alejandro González Malave). At first, it was reported that they had been shot because they resisted arrest, but then it became clear that they had been shot while under police custody. The opposition PPD, in control of the legislature, orchestrated televised hearings in which they attempted to pin the while fiasco on Gov. Romero-Barcelo. Further scandals erupted when it became possible that an undercover police agent that was with the two men had actually engineered the whole episode. Romero Barcelo, was implicated in the affair by his political opposition and a biased press. This, combined with the fact that the then-mayor of San Juan, Hernán Padilla, left the party to form his own party, Partido Renovación Puertorriqueña (or PRP), allowed Hernández Colón to obtain re-election in1984. In 1988, the PNP candidate,Baltazar Corrada del Rà o, the former resident commissioner, ran for governor but he lost to Hernández Colón.
1990S
The PNP came back to power in 1992, when Pedro Rosselló, a pediatrician, became the party's leader and defeated Luis Muñoz Marà n's daughter Victoria Melo Muñoz to become governor.

During this period, the government officialized the english language as Puerto Rico's official language, simutaneously with Spanish.

During Pedro Rossello's term a great deal of public works were including the "Tren Urbano" (Subway), the "Super Tubo" (Super tube), the Health Reform, the "Coliseo Puerto Rico" (Puerto Rico Coluseum)
As of his first term Rossello was lauded for his public works which allowed the party to win again in 1996.
During the 1993-1997 term, various cabinet members, among them the Health Secretary Enrique Vasquez Quintana, denounced members of the government of corrupcion, Rossello ignored and fired him, among any other that denounced corruption in the government, and gave a vote of confidence to all the members that were accused of corruption. The corruption issues bared little effect on the PNP's image and the party was able to win in 1996 by the largest margin in the party's history, 51% of the votes casted.

This victory was short live and the PNPs image suffered severly with countless corruption cases.
It started with the PNP former mayor of Toa Alta, Angel Buzo, was charged and found guilty of corruption.
This was followed with indictments of several directives of the "Instituto de Sida" (Aids Institute) with "money laundering" charges. This resulted in the closing of the Instituto de Sida.

The PNP's image was further damaged with the selling of the the Puertorican Telephone Company, that cause mass discomfort to the public employees, among many other people.

A great moral loss was suffered when in 1998, statehood, 46%, lost to "None of the Above", 50.03% in a plebisite. This made clear that those that voted for the PNP, although a pro-statehood party, do not necessarily believe in Statehood for Puerto Rico.

The PNPs was even further damages as new corruption carges were placed on Senator Freddy Valentin among other high ranking PNP politicians and state officials.
More the PNPs image suffered harshly throughout the 2000 election.
2000S
Rosselló stepped down as governor after eight years in power in 2000. His period as governor was marked by the Vieques protestsand major economic growth. In 2000, Carlos I. Pesquera ran for governor. His main PPD opponent, Sila Marà a Calderón, and him were tightly matched on pre-election polling. Pesquera, however, was hampered with the already enormous list corrupcion in Rossello cabinet. Pesquera was the Transportation Secretary under Rossello and that gave the image that corruption would continue if he were to be elected governor.

In the process, more corruption charges came out in months before the 2000 election were serveral CRIM (the governmental agency in charge of handling municipal property taxes)officials were accused of corruption. In addition to that outgoing governor Rossello fired the then Family Secretary, Angie Valera, because of announcing publicly that there were irregularities in the agency.

The PNP lost the 2000 election, losing the Governor's seat, the Resident Commissioner, and legislature. This was the first election since its creation, that the PNP suffered a vote reduction. Leo Diaz assumed the PNPs Presidency, but it was short-lived as Pesquera returned to occupy the position.

Turmoil consumed the PNP during the first two years of the 2001-2005 term. The Secretary of Education, under Rossello's Administration, Victor Fajardo, was charged by federal agencies of apropiating millions of federal funds directed to the Education Department. The former House Speaker, Edison Misla Aldarondo was also charge with corruption, was forced to resign and indicted
The PNP became ver radicalized during these years and stage a riot in the Woman's Proctor's Office for not putting an American Flag in the building. Pesquera, now House Speaker Jose Aponte...among others were accused and later acquitted of riot charges.

IN 2003, Rosselló returned to the island, allegedly due to the many calls and visits he received from prominent citizens and politicians. Also, the island was under the throes of Calderón's disastrous government. Rosselló subsequently defeated Pesquera in the PNP primary for the gubernatorial nomination. The fall campaign was lively and controversial. Rosselló's prior administration was repeatedly painted as corrupt, while his opponent (upon Rosselló's return, Calderónb announced she would not seek another term)Anibal Acevedo Vila (PPD) was initially lackluster. In his performance in televised debates, Anibal's campaign gained momentum, aided in part by the favorable press he received from the Ferré controlled media. In pre-election polls, Rosselló led by double digits, but ultimately Rosselló lost by some 3,000 votes (12,000 votes went as write-in for Carlos Pesquera). Dr. Rosselló challenged the electoral results after it became clear that about 6,000 votes, with multiple markings, had been counted for his opponent. After a lengthy court battle decided by the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (located in Boston, MA), and headed by a former Ferré lawyer, Acevedo Vila was certified as governor.

With this decision it was thus established officially, though it was always a practice, that Puerto Ricans can endorse a political party so it can maintain its franchise, though it can vote for candidates that belong to other parties or are independent.

As 2005 began, the party faithful clamored for Senate President Kenneth McClintock to step down to transfer the position to Rosselló. To the surprise of party faithful, McClintock refused to leave the post and formed, with 4 other PNP senators, an alliance with Acevedo-Vila and the PPD senators in order to keep Dr. Rosselló from becoming Senate president. McClintock was aided in this endeavor by his "compadre" and childhood friend, Luis Fortuño, who was elected Resident Commissioner. This led to the expulsion of McClintock as well as two of his senators, from the PNP. The PNP has been racked with internal fight after internal fight. These internal battles have not worked their way out as of July 2006, thus creating a never before seen landscape in island politics.

Party logo

The party is strongly associated with the color blue in Puerto Rico because of its logo. Since the logo features a palm tree, many Puerto Ricans call the PNP "La Palma", pretty much as the Republican Party of the United States is called the "Grand Ole Party", or "GOP".

Curiously enough, the use of a palm tree as a party symbol by the PNP was suggested, indirectly, by the opposition. In the original1967 status plebiscite, then Puerto Rico governor Roberto Sanchez Vilella asked one of his then staff members, future governor Rafael Hernandez Colon to come up with three ideas for art clips, as to identify each of the three status options in the ballot and assist illiterate voters who might not be able to read it. In his book "Vientos de Cambio", Hernandez Colón recalls that he conceived the three symbols while at the backyard of his father-in-law's house in Ponce, Puerto Rico. One of the symbols (the one which eventually represented the statehood option in the ballot) was a "palma real" (Roystonea regia), a species of palm tree that is autochthonous to the Caribbean. The group "Estadistas Unidos", the statehood supporters who broke rank with Garcà a Méndez to participate at the plebiscite, adopted the palm tree as a potential party symbol when they incorporated the NPP. Due to electoral law restrictions, however, they were forbidden to use a "palma real" as a logo because of its previous use in an election; therefore, a coconut (Cocos nucifera) palm tree was used instead. The use of the coconut palm tree as a symbol by the NPP persists to this day.

The logo's original version consisted of a light blue palm tree, partially encircled by words in a semi-circle (the exact color hue for the logo being that of the United Nations flag, as a personal request from the party founder, Luis A. Ferré. The original logo had the party's name surrounding it; eventually the words "estadidad, seguridad, progreso" ("statehood, security, progress" in English) substituted the party name. The logo later enclosed the palm tree in a blue oval and reversed its colors. The tonality of blue used in the newer logo was eventually changed to a deep navy blue, as to liken it to that of the canton of the United States' flag.

Call, Write, Email, and Fax Congress NOR and demand they vote no on HR-2499: The Puerto Rico Democracy Act – This act to be voted on tomorrow – Thursday 4.28.10 is nothing but a Progressive Power Grab to keep the Dems and Progressive Movement in Power for the next 100 years.  After that, there will be nothing left of the United States as we know it!!!

Beck: Power, Control and How Dems Covet Puerto Rico as the 51st State

Urgent: Democrats rushing through Puerto Rico power grab

Quietly sailing through the House this week is yet another piece of partisan stealth legislation aimed at manufacturing more Democrat power at the expense of the American people, the economy and the country.

This time, it's the Puerto Rico Democracy Act (H.R. 2499). It would force Puerto Rico to vote on U.S. statehood and is designed to stack the deck in favor of statehood, going even as far as to require the territory to vote every eight years until statehood is accepted.

Not only is Puerto Rico already a fully-functioning democracy, but it has also repeatedly rejected attempts to turn it into a U.S. state, for decades.

But still, desperate to create new Democrat voters and elected officials, the left is now aggressively setting the stage for the creation of a 51st state.

Due to its dense population of poverty-stricken minorities, Puerto Rico can be counted on to vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and all their handouts, and their representation will also consequently outnumber that of 25 other existing U.S. states.

Meanwhile, with Puerto Ricans having an average income of less than half that of our poorest state, they will instantly become eligible for dozens of our welfare programs. Truckloads of taxpayer dollars will also have to be perpetually dumped into the territory, by federal law, to bring it up to American infrastructure and environmental standards.

This will also force the U.S. to become a bi-lingual country overnight, which will produce a whole new set of problems.

URGENT: NO on HR2499: Puerto Rico Democracy Act of 2009

I hope you can help me.  I just sent this email to the staffers of the conservative Repulican Senators who are misguidedly co-sponsoring HR 2499. We need them to VOTE NO on this bill.

You can help by doing these 4 simple things:

1) clicking "forward",

2) read/edit this message to your liking and type your name at the end of it,

3) cut and paste the staffer's email addresses (directly below) onto the "To:" line,

4) delete what I've written here, delete the staffer's email addresses below, and Send.

These Senators need to hear from hundreds of people, so I hope you will help.  Also please pass this email onto anyone you think will help too.

Thanks!

Good Evening:

Can you explain why your boss is co-sponsoring H.R. 2499?

Perhaps your boss isn't aware of the ramifications of this bill; please inform your boss of the following immediately:

  • Puerto Rico is already a democracy.  Despite the bill's deceptive title, Puerto Rico already has an elected government and exists as a self-governed commonwealth of the U.S.
  • Statehood would give Puerto Rico more congressional representation than 25 of our 50 states!  It would inevitably give Democrats two additional U.S. Senators and 6 to 8 additional Members of the House.
  • The U.S. would transform, overnight, into a bilingual nation.  At least half of Puerto Ricans do not speak English, the language of our U.S. Constitution and founding documents.  The Washington Times article, "Puerto Rican statehood," analyzes all the implications of adding a foreign language-speaking state to the Union.
  • It would bring immediate demands for massive federal spending.  The average income of Puerto Ricans is less than half that of our poorest state, and infrastructure and the environment are far below American standards.  Puerto Rico has a population with a median national income of $17,741, nearly a third below that for the U.S.

H.R. 2499 is stealth legislation designed to lead to the admission of Puerto Rico as the 51st state, costing MONEY WE DO NOT HAVE and, therefore, placing undue financial hardship on American citizens.  The U.S. Congress should not be forcing Puerto Ricans to vote on statehood, especially since the Puerto Rican people have rejected statehood three times since 1991!

Any Member of Congress who describes him/herself as a limited government, fiscal conservative should be casting a NO vote for H.R. 2499, as Puerto Rican statehood would cause an immediate increase in federal expenditures, particularly for taxpayer-funded welfare state services.

Do not override the wishes of Americans and Puerto Ricans who want to maintain the current commonwealth status of Puerto Rico by forcing a vote on rigged referenda!

I fully expect your boss to remove his/her name as a Co-Sponsor of this bill, and to VOTE NO on H.R. 2499!

Respectfully,

Your History Is Being Rewritten

Oh, the hate is flowing in America today —especially in Arizona.

It's like the river of slime from "Ghostbusters II," oozing underneath the surface, infecting everything. Here's how Rep. Jared Polis described the mood in Arizona: "It is absolutely reminiscent of second class status of Jews in Germany prior to World War II when they had to have their papers with them at all times and were subject to routine inspections at the suspicion of being Jewish... I fear that Arizona is headed for a police state."

Arizona is really putting the AZ in Nazi, aren't they?

I hate to rain on the hate parade here, but can we please slow down for just a minute and, I don't know, think?

You are comparing the systematic, cold-blooded, extermination of millions of Jews to America making sure people are here legally. The parallels are... nonexistent. It's like deja vu. I can envision some sort of equivalent to the Holocaust museums already in the works to document the horrors of Arizona's immigration law. I'm sure Abe Foxman at the Anti-Defamation League is working on a press release right now, to make sure that he commends Jared Polis for pointing out how much illegal immigration is like the extermination of 6 million Jews.

If only the media would read their own stories; here's one from the Associated Press: The law "makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally."

Got it? A crime. To be here illegally. Maybe that's how O.J. got off, because California hadn't made illegal murder illegal yet.

This is a news story how exactly?

Oh, but the story continues, adding that police could "question people about their immigration status... if they suspect someone is in the country illegally."

That sentence may as well have been the sound of goosesteps — same exact thing. Or, just to play devil's advocate here, at some point along your free ride (courtesy of American taxpayers), if you arouse suspicion, you may be asked for your Green Card.

We are the only country that devalues our citizenship. You want to talk about race riots and illegal immigration? In France they rioted over legalimmigration.

Oh, those crazy people on the right! Oh wait, it's the left. Yet, here's how the networks have reported it:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Riot police were called in to try and control demonstrators protesting outside the capital. Most were peaceful. A handful threw bottles at police and were arrested.

KATIE COURIC: Anger in Arizona against a new law allowing police to make you prove you're in the country legally.

UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTER: They're just focusing on us because we're brown.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Oh, the poor, unfortunate undocumented worker! Where is our compassion? Why don't we just let them stay?

Got it? The people breaking the law are the victims, according to the networks. Now, let's look at how the same networks have covered another big rally: the Tea Parties. Look harmless, right? And they aren't breaking any laws that we know of. How are they portrayed?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIPS)

CRAIG VAROGA, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: Their extremism, they're, you know, I mean, either looking the other way or encouraging harassment and violence is actually not only coarsening American life, it's putting people in danger.

REP. ALAN GRAYSON, D-FLA.: There have been all sorts of efforts to incite violence by the right-wing. And that's the way the right-wing operates.

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE NANCY PELOSI, D-CALIF.: I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric is — was very frightening and it gave — it created a climate in which we, violence took place.

(END VIDEO CLIPS)

The script doesn't seem to match the video.

But neither does this: Do you remember all the violence at the WTO in 1999? Smoke bombs. Riot police. Here's how Bill Clinton responded: "I don't think anybody in America should take what a few violent people did as in anyway representative of the community or of the people who are here in peaceful protest."

Wow, I'd sure like him to give that same break to the Tea Parties.

Something else also popped up at the Arizona rallies: A swastika made out of refried beans. That's outrageous (and probably tasty); I'm sure — in fact, I'm 100 percent certain — that Nancy Pelosi is outraged at this because remember, this is how she feels about swastikas being used:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PELOSI: I think they are Astroturf. You be the judge. They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Well said, Nancy. Well said. When she finally comes out shaking and crying about the kind of rhetoric she's hearing at the illegal immigration rallies, we'll be the first to bring that to you. Sure it'll be along any minute now.

Then you have Obama's Chicago buddy Bill Ayers, founder of the domestic terrorist group the Weather Underground, parading around TV explaining to sympathetic "journalists" that his group wasn't a terrorist organization. Now he's claiming this:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL AYERS: We were never a terrorist organization. And that is because we never threatened to kill people, we never killed people.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Bill, just because you were a crappy terrorist group, doesn't mean you weren't a terrorist group. It was by the grace of God that you didn't kill anyone at the Pentagon and Capitol buildings. And what about the members of his group who robbed an armored truck in 1981 and murdered two police officers and a security guard? I'm not an expert, but that sounds like "killing someone."

But now, Ayers is a respected intellectual. How are this man and his group not reviled? History is being rewritten before your very eyes. And how is that possible? When Time magazine did their 2009 year in pictures, they had pictures of koala bears and dust — but no Tea Parties.

They are doing their best to erase history. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Write a journal. Get a video recorder. Have a diary. Because you sure don't want to be depending on the media for any of this stuff.

When your great grandchildren look back on 2009, they'll know how tender Barack and Michelle's first dance was, but they'll have no idea there even was a Tea Party. And we'll know all about this illegal immigration rally against the hateful racists.

Look, this new Arizona law was not made so cops could start sweeping the city like the Gestapo — papers please! It's not designed so cops can pull you over because you "look illegal."

Some are saying this law is unconstitutional because it's the federal government's responsibility to deal with foreign nations and thus illegals. That's for the court to decide.

But that doesn't answer exactly what it is the protesters are upset about here. The good congressman Jared Polis is afraid of a "police state." Well, we have lawmaker asking for the National Guard to be the police for Chicago, Illinois — a literal army to defend the citizens. Yet no one says a word.

If they wanted a police state, believe me, they could get it. But they don't. Yet, somehow, we are supposed to believe this law will cause cops to start banging down doors? You know what stops a police state? The smallest government possible. That's what the Tea Parties are about: the smallest possible government. Progressive governments create the apparatus, just in case there's an emergency you'd hate to waste.

The news doesn't reflect common sense or what is actually going on.

Obama himself just passed a health care bill that forced people to buy health care and he pushed for harsh punishments for those who refused. So, in other words, the federal government will ask for verification of your health insurance, but the same government can't ask for your legal information?

Am I in "Alice in Wonderland"?

Watchdogs, no one in media will rescue you. You have to be our eyes and ears.

I want you to go to this website: defendeducation.org and want you to click on the affiliated organizations. These are socialist, communist, Marxist organizations and I guarantee that some of these same folks are organizing protests in Arizona. If you are in a union and your union is organizing to split us apart, please e-mail becktips@foxnews.com.

We aren't the "papers please!" people. We are also not the country that allows anyone to come in and break the law and take jobs at slave wages and live off the backs of taxpayers and get free health care in emergency rooms and then send the kids to school and even demand classes in Spanish.

Who are we? We're the country that sits at the table and tries to work things out. But when our very existence is at stake, what other choices are there? Give me the other option. Ignore it? Hope it goes away? Make everyone a citizen?

I remember the first time I went to an AA meeting in New Haven, Connecticut. It can be a dicey city — I mean, Yale? Yeah, it's dicey. So, I'm downtown and this meeting has some rough-looking people: tattoos, no teeth, hard-core drug users. I was thinking to myself, "I don't belong here. This isn't who I am." But I stayed. I eventually realized that yes, the toothless, tattooed drunk was exactly who I allowed myself to become because I didn't put the bottle down after the first drink. Did I fall as far as them? By the grace of God, no. It all depends on when you stop. The longer we let things go, the harder it is to get back to who you were.

I'm not asking to do anything against the Constitution. I'm not saying stop people randomly and say, "Hey, you look illegal!" I mean, what does it look like to be illegal? But if you are stopped for another reason? Expect to show your license and Green Card. If I'm stopped that's the first thing they say to me. But the federal government is bleeding our states dry because they are failing to do their duty. They are forcing states to fend for themselves and commit financial suicide. They can't afford this!

Forget about financial suicide — what about safety? The drug dealers are getting more brazen. Prominent rancher Robert Krentz was on his 35,000 acre ranch when he encountered an illegal alien. He was shot dead.

Do you know where the kidnap capital of America is? Phoenix, Arizona. Do you know what the No. 2 kidnap capital of the world is? Phoenix, Arizona. I wonder if that's on the travel brochure? They'll tell you it's just the illegals being kidnapped. Are we supposed to care less?

There are reportedly 460,000 illegal aliens living in Arizona. Again, we're not the "show me your papers" country. But we are a nation of laws. We used to be known around the globe as a nation of equal justice, not social justice. That's why people flee their crap-hole countries on rafts in shark-infested waters to get here.

If immigrants wanted a government that only applied laws to special interests, the connected or the corrupt, they'd stay away. But they're coming here because we have a rule of law.

Enforce the law equally.

Not only do we hurt the rest of the country by allowing this epidemic to continue, we hurt immigrants even more. They are slaves living in the shadows here. We must stop it. Before we turn ourselves into exactly the kind of country they fled in the first place.

Also… get involved to work to get out the vote, at the polls and to oversee the counting of the votes… For it is not those that vote, but rather those that count the vote that determine the outcome of the election.

We have been lucky in the United States that we have been able to depend, in most cases, that our votes have been accurately counted and reported.  Sadly, we find ourselves in a climate today that this may no longer be the case… unless we and those that believe in truth and freedom are involved at every level of the process.

'Glenn Beck': Arizona Immigration Debate Pits Equal Justice vs. Social Justice

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

FNC

Illegal vs. legal

This is a rush transcript from "Glenn Beck," April 26, 2010. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.

GLENN BECK, HOST: All right, let's define the discussion we're about to have as our leader would say, "Let me be clear." What I've said in the past is that there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration. There is a difference between legal and illegal.

This is Allegra D — no, it's actually crack cocaine, but I get it from a doctor, so it's OK.

Allegra — drugs. Pot — drugs.

I have a problem with drugs! No, no, no — I have a problem with illegal drugs, not prescription drugs. I don't want to ban all drugs.

Prescription drugs are good for you when you used by prescription and follow advice of the doctor — bad otherwise. Got it?

Immigration, good. Illegal immigration, bad.

President Obama couldn't resist the temptation to attack Arizona's new illegal immigration law as unfair and irresponsible. Here he is:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: The failure to act responsibly at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others. And that includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans as well as the trust between police and their communities that are so crucial to keep us safe.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: It's unbelievable. I mean, it's unbelievable.

If we are going to have a president assailing every branch of government and every state law that disagrees with his position, we're headed for a constitutional crisis here.

Al Sharpton of course has been sent down in Arizona to stoke the fires of fairness and justice as well:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REV. AL SHARPTON, CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST: It's our moral obligation to stand against this profiling in Arizona, just as we stood against it in New Jersey. Make no mistake about it. This is not a fight between minorities. This is a fight for justice and fairness for everyone.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: OK — notice that he feels it necessary to inject this is not a fight between minorities. Why would you have to mention that? Because he knows full well that the vast majority of African-Americans are passionately against illegal immigration.

This is not to demonize those who are coming here illegally. I want to make this clear. I have a problem with illegal immigration. But the problem I have — the least problem I have is with the actual illegal immigrant. It's with our government not enforcing our own laws and the businesses. Let's just keep this in proper context.

The same can be said for the Hispanics who have come here legally. They are not necessarily thrilled that they did it the right way. They sacrificed their time, their money and their effort. Why would you want to be lumped in with those who break the rules and the law? But they're kind of in a jam, because a lot of their family is down in Mexico.

I do agree with Al Sharpton this is a fight for justice and fairness for everyone: equal justice.

America, this is what you have to understand: equal justice, not social justice. Equal justice of the law demands that law-breakers not be rewarded for their illegal activity, that instead they be treated like everyone else.

Equal justice.

If there is a reason to suspect that you're in this country illegally, why wouldn't I ask? Again, Al Sharpton on the Arizona law:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHARPTON: Then we will bring people from around the country to Arizona to be freedom walkers, where we will walk down the streets with no ID and submit ourselves to arrests. What is the difference between us and any Mexican or any Haitian?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: The difference is legal citizens, as opposed to not legal citizens. Legal and illegal. Rule of law.

Citizenship is valuable. The Statue of Liberty says, "I hold my torch before its golden door." You don't put a golden door on an outhouse. You put it on someplace special.

Our citizenship is something to be cherished. And too many of us citizens don't cherish it anymore. We just think we're like everybody else, but we're not. We're not citizens of the world. We're citizens of the United States. At least, at least right now, we still are.

I'm proud of my citizenship. And I know those who have worked hard for theirs feel the same way. But Sharpton brings up yet another reason for the Arizona law to be adopted federally:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHARPTON: Isn't it strange that those that hire illegal immigrants at almost slave wages are not perp-walked? We're not seeing anyone being punished for playing low-wage employees against those that are seeking to make a living. They're only perp-walking those that are seeking to feed their families.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: You know, this is one place where Al Sharpton and I agree on. I'd like to see the businesses that are doing this perp-walk. But perp- walk is dishonest at best.

When illegals are rounded up, and they almost never do time, and they're usually not even deported, you know. They're booked and then they're lost in the system. I haven't seen them perp-walked.

This discussion needs to be about equal justice under the law. Equal justice, not social justice. And I'll give you more on that, next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

BECK: I was told that I needed to tell you that this is from Pronto Pizza. It's oregano. On 48th.

Today's discussion is about equal justice under the law — equal justice, not social justice. One of those two you will find in our Founding documents. The other, not so much.

Equal justice is when [Zeituni Onyango] — this woman comes to the United States and she comes here illegally and she gets deported.

Now, social justice dictates that because somehow or another, she's special, whether it's her medical condition, her position in life, her race, or maybe it's just because she happens to be President Obama's aunt that she gets to stay in the U.S. illegally, even after her request for political asylum was rejected in 2004.

Equal justice says she's got to go home.

Social justice says no, no, no.

Equal justice says that when a Democrat makes a ridiculous racist remark like this one:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VICE PRESIDENT JOSEPH BIDEN: I mean, you got the first, sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: A storybook.

Equal justice would say when he said that, he should have been treated the same way as Jimmy the Greek was for saying something equally as stupid. But social justice dictates it's not.

Equal justice means if you live in the U.S. — I've got to be here legally. I can't commit identity theft and fraud and neither should illegal aliens.

Social justice says poor, minority from someplace else, have a separate understanding now with our government that you don't get. OK? That's the way it is. Social justice.

Social justice and equal justice. Because you're the aunt of the president and poor, I'm sorry, you still have to be deported. What equal justice means — it means enforcing our laws.

You know the statue of justice? She is blindfolded. She doesn't care if it's religion or race or whatever. Justice is blind. Stop using justice as a political weapon or for doing favors for those who agree with your ideology.

That's not what all of our relatives came here for. See, we are all immigrants. Immigration is good. Immigration renews us. Everybody who came here, you're here because somebody in your family a long time ago saved up enough to come here to escape whatever bad situation they were in. Most, if not all, were escaping some sort of social justice and they were fleeing toward equal justice.

How does it make any sense at all? How can we possibly be the beacon of hope and liberty as these people are looking at us from just across our own border or from around the world and they see us start to engage in not equal justice, but social justice.

Fairness for some.

You're too big to fail; you're too poor to leave. Isn't that the same kind of government that the immigrants have been trying to escape for 234 years now?
