We begin this week with more about the old Weather Underground crowd and why they’re relevant today. This is not just some late 1960′s pothead group that we’re reading about in an old magazine. These people have risen to positions of considerable power and still hold the same values and ideas now as they did back then. There has been no turning point for them. They haven’t “grown up” and seen the error of their ways. Instead, they’re turning their old ideas into new movements – including an assault on the younger generation with a new revamped version of SDS. These folks are dangerous.

Students for a Democratic Society
The old is now new again, and again, and again, and again. The NEW Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) reformed on January 16, 2006, MLK day for those not keeping score at home. What are they up to these days? Most recently they were bussed into Arizona along with SEIU members to protest the illegal immigration laws there. In total, 122 people were arrested protesting a law that a large portion of the residents (66% according to Rasmussen) of Arizona support!

It’s the same old radicals, but with a new generation.

As Students for a Democratic Society, we know that change happens from the bottom up. Building a strong organization is all about combining our individual power into something much greater than the sum of its parts. SDS is committed to building a strong organization and growing a popular movement for student power to unite the youth of America and save this country from disaster. We are going to take back our schools, our communities, and our nation – and we are going to win, because millions of people are stronger than millions of dollars. This is the fight of our life!

The Oakland Sniper
Indeed there was, and his name is Byron Williams. But now there are calls blaming this on Glenn. Like he had a direct influence on this guy to get into a shootout with the police. I can picture it now, some big money brains sitting around a table at a George Soros funded group discussing how to deal with “The Beck Problem”. “We can’t kill him, that would be too obvious” says one man. For hours and hours they mull over ideas until one of them comes up with a most brilliant plan – “How about we find some nutjob and blame their actions on Beck? He’ll be a supporter of violence and we can turn everybody against him!”

And they did just that. They didn’t completely blame Beck for the shooter’s actions, but they did indicate that Glenn encouraged him. I wonder if Beck also encouraged the snipers that fired on Sen. Hillary Clinton’s aircraft when it landed at the Tuzla Air Base in Bosnia in 1996. Oh never mind, that can’t be his fault – because she was lying about the whole thing.

Enough with the blame game, it’s time to come together. I have no idea what is going to happen on 8/28, but all signs point to it being something huge. Stand in the truth, stand with each other, and stand alongside others on 8/28 at the Restoring Honor Rally in Washington, DC.

When we become Greece
Greece has been used as an example many times on the show as what we’ll be like as a county if things don’t turn around. A society angry at everything and everyone because their government sponsored support lines have been cut when the well ran dry. Over the weekend, reports came out that the county is now considered a “war zone” and is “no longer a safe haven of capitalism”. Let’s not end up like this!
