90 Million Americans Permanently Unemployed

RUSH: Some of them out there are actually trying to pump up 88,000 new jobs as a sign of Obama's robust recovery and his expertise. Others are saying it's bad news and it's the fault of the sequester….

We Are Living in a Dying Country

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Folks, I don't know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don't know how else to categorize what's happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That's the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels. The only difference is that we don't have an election around the corner to fix it like we did in 1979. We had that election last November, and we blew it.

In addition to payrolls only adding 88,000 jobs, an additional 81,800 went on disability in March. We're now up to 8.8 million Americans on disability. We had nearly as many people go on disability in March as people who found jobs. I think it's official. We have a dying country. There is literally no way that our entitlement programs and our safety net and our absorption of immigrants, legal or otherwise, can be supported this way. This simply cannot be sustained. I don't know how else to describe this. The unemployment rate of 7.6% is ridiculous.

The U-6 unemployment rate is still around 15%. That is the unemployment rate you get if you add people who are out of work and looking for a job and people who are out of work and have given up looking. Those people have been out of work for a long time. They've had 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, and they've given up looking, so they're not counted in the reported unemployment percentage of 7.6%. If they were counted, the number would be 15%. And if there were not the demographic weighting -- the 7.6% number is arrived at by estimating certain factors as being in existence or being true based on demographics. There are assumptions made about employment, unemployment in the Hispanic community, with women, black community so forth.

This is from Jim Pethokoukis, our buddy at the American Enterprise Institute. If you take out all of the demographic weighting -- let me give you another example of weighting. Let me use radio numbers for it. In local markets, there are minority-owned-and-operated radio stations. This goes way back, by the way. For the purposes of affirmative action, the audiences of minority stations were always bumped a little beyond what the actual ratings were. It was part and parcel of recognition of past discrimination. It was part of making amends. It was part of affirmative action, and it was accepted. Nobody complained about it. It's the way it was. People did business that way, but nevertheless it existed. You agree with me on this?

(interruption)

What? Well, there's a whole bunch of reasons. Yeah, the ratings didn't reach minority people, was one of the explanations, the old diary system. Now it's the one-eyed, one horned flying purple people meter, whatever it is, but they didn't reach these people. So it was just estimated that audiences to minority radio stations were much higher than they actually ended up being reported as being. That's called weighting. Well, the same thing is done in employment, unemployment numbers. And Mr. Pethokoukis' point is if we just dealt with what the real numbers are, as Bob Johnson was the other day, unemployment in the black community, 15%, black teenagers, 25%, if you deal with those numbers, his point is that the U-3 number or the 7.6% number would actually be 9.9.

If we just took the data and just reported the data as it is without any demographic weighting, then we'd be at 9.9%, not 7.6%. It's like yesterday we had the report on the number of applications for unemployment compensation, which skyrocketed back up 388,000. Much higher than what was expected by the experts. And, of course, that number will be revised upward even more in a couple of weeks. You have to work really hard to find that revised number, but it will be around 400,000. In the meantime, while all this is going on, the regime's running around talking about our economic recovery and why we've gotta start making loans to people that can't pay 'em back again to boost the home market that's recovering.

It really is obscene. There is no housing market recovery to speak of. There is no recovery anything to speak of here. Now we're gonna start making loans to people who can't pay 'em back. Banks are being forced to do this by the regime so those people are not left out of this housing boom. Folks, it's utterly ridiculous, 7.6% unemployment weighed against 90 million Americans not working. The labor force participation rate also includes the number of jobs that have disappeared. They're no longer in existence. They're not there to be filled by anybody. The regime does that to get that number down to 7.6%. If the universe of jobs available shrinks, then the percentage of people out of work will be smaller, by definition. I can't tell you how many months I had to go through fisticuffs, practically, to get people who are telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, to convince them that I did. But if your universe is a hundred percent and your unemployment rate's 7.6%, then what do you figure? You got 93% or whatever of the people working.

Well, what if your universe shrinks to 80% but you still call it a hundred percent? That's what's happening here. There aren't a hundred percent anymore. It's shrunk. The number of jobs that are available, the number of businesses which are open, the number of businesses which have jobs to fill, plummeting. We're a dying country. Everybody knows it. Even Ichabod Goolsbee, who is a former economics guru in the regime, now in the private sector making legitimate money, Ichabod Goolsbee said, "This is like a punch to the gut." And we've got some sound bites and news stories here where all these experts just can't believe this. Why, this doesn't make any sense, and of course they're blaming the sequester for this. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, the sequester, because that means it's the Republicans. Except the sequester's got nothing to do with this.

This all started January 21st, 2009. That's when the intense trend began with the immaculation of Obama and the mythical stimulus package. We're a country in decline, and the president is presiding over a country in decline. So he's gotta budget that he's gonna be presenting soon, we're told, and one of the things that the president is going to do to generate revenue -- 'cause, see, that's the problem. Do you know in the midst of all this what the big problem is? The government does not have enough money. It's not that the country doesn't have enough jobs. It's not that the people of this country aren't earning enough salary, wages, whatever. No, no. The problem is the government doesn't have enough money.

So the president is going to trying to get more money by placing a $3 million upper limit on tax preferred retirement accounts. So he's going to take even more money from the so-called rich under the guise they're not paying their fair share. Because the government's running out of money, and we cannot have that. So payrolls grow by 88,000. Eighty-two thousand new Americans on disability in March. A total of 8.8 million Americans on disability, and every damn one of them feels justified. And I'll tell you something else. All of the people -- 90 million Americans -- ladies and gentlemen, 90 million Americans are not working, but they are all eating, and they're all using cell phones. And they are all watching television. And most of them are driving.

I don't know how this can be sustained. A blogger at ZeroHedge.com, a guy named Tyler Durden, which is a stage name, says things just keep getting worse for the American employee, and by implication, the US economy, where, as we've shown many times before, it pays just as well to sit back and collect disability and various welfare and entitlement checks than to work. The best manifestation of this, the number of people not in the labor force, which in March alone grew by 663,000. They want to tell us that there were 88,000 new jobs in March, when the number is 663,000. Over a half million people dropped out of the labor force. That means they either lost their jobs or stopped looking for one.

What is this 88,000 people found work? Compared to the 663,000 who dropped out. A record 90 million Americans are no longer even looking for work. I don't even want to get into whether it's their fault or not. Folks, everybody has to eat, and they are. The Democrat Party's seen to it. This was the biggest monthly increase in people dropping out of the labor force since January of 2012, when the Bureau of Labor Stats did its census recast of the labor numbers. Even worse, the labor force participation rate plunged to the lowest level since 1979.

But, in a perverted way, that many people leaving the workforce shrinks the universe, and it makes it possible to say that unemployment's improving. I'm not kidding you. Even Mr. Durden makes the point. If you shrink the universe, then the percentage of people not working gets smaller, and you can say, "We added 88,000 jobs, not like we want, but we're working at it. We're adding 88,000 jobs. The unemployment number is coming down." And as far as low-information Americans are concerned, that's it, and that's all there is to know.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The Drive-By Media, State-Controlled Media is either pretending that the March jobs report is good news -- some of them are. Some of them out there are actually trying to pump up 88,000 new jobs as a sign of Obama's robust recovery and his expertise. Others are saying it's bad news and it's the fault of the sequester. If you want to say it's the fault of anything and you want to get that specific, you'd have to look at the payroll tax holiday ending first.

But this is all happening because of the policies the president. There's no argument about that. I mean, I know that people still want to blame Bush, and I know that the president -- the Limbaugh Theorem -- is running around still trying to fix all this. None of this is his. People don't attach his policies to this. Amazingly, the low-information population still views the president as working tirelessly to fix all this, trying to come up with something that'll work, 'cause he cares about everybody. But this has nothing to do with sequester. It has nothing to do, really, with the payroll tax cut.

END TRANSCRIPT

“The president’s policies continue to make it harder for Americans to find work. Hundreds of thousands fled the workforce last month and unemployment remains far above what the Obama administration promised when it enacted its ‘stimulus’ spending plan,” Boehner said in a statement. He urged the president to “follow the House and outline a balanced budget next week – one that includes entitlement reforms that are not conditional on enactment of more tax increases, which will suppress growth instead of encourage it.”  But the leaked White House’s plan to blame everything on the Sequester and the Republicans tells us that things are right on course… according to plan!

We Must Remain In The Fight

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton  -  the NoisyRoom

Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would have to write this post. I was wrong on the election – massively wrong. But not for the reasons the Left will claim. I fervently believe that the election was lost due to massive voter fraud in swing states. Virtually every Marxist was elected last night including Obama. Mia Love lost when she was way ahead in Utah… Allen West lost in Florida. The one saving spark is that Michele Bachmann won. The Democrats picked up two further seats in the Senate, with a powerless Republican House holding on. And a treasonous media enabled all of this.

Ask yourself how this could happen with the massive crowds showing up for Romney? And the lackluster support of Obama… They were VERY organized in the swing states – their machine worked well.

What This Means…

  • First thing this morning, Feinstein forwarded the move to ban semi-automatic assault weapons. Guns will sell like hotcakes, because a full attack is now coming on the Second Amendment.
  • Obama will populate the Supreme Court and in effect finish gutting the Constitution.
  • Regulations will multiply even more and speed up.
  • Two-thirds of coal plants will now be shut down. Energy prices will skyrocket. People will freeze to death.
  • Obamacare will kick in. Costs will escalate and people will die.
  • We will go off the fiscal cliff, which is also a debt cliff and a regulatory cliff. The stock market will plummet. Get gold and silver now as banning and controls will kick in on them as well.
  • A Depression is guaranteed.
  • Patriots and the religious will be driven underground and persecuted.
  • Civil war is coming.
  • 47% of Americans are now receiving support from the government. At 50%, a collapse will ensue.
  • Hyperinflation is a breath away as money printing will now spark out of control.
  • An arms race will now proceed in the Middle East and in Japan. India and Pakistan are on the verge of nuclear war. Israel will be forced to stand alone. The caliphate will return unabated.
  • Russia and China will now be the world powers. As our military is further gutted, we will be sitting ducks to invasion and war.

This is just a taste of what is coming. For those who railed that they wanted a collapse, well, you are going to get your wish and you will rue the day you made it. God has not forsaken us, but evil has engulfed our nation. I heard from my compatriots in the UK and Israel this morning. They are in shock. Legal immigrants who fought so hard to escape Communism to get to America are now terrified. They cannot believe we can’t see the Communist in the White House. There is no where to run – we must stand our ground.

My friend Michelle Malkin wrote a piece encouraging Conservatives to stand tall. I am doing the same. Remember that our founding fathers fought a very long time for freedom. We dare not give up now. I heard from my close friend Trevor Loudon this morning. We will double down on KeyWiki and research. I have only begun to fight. Screw the commies…

I’ll leave you with a quote from a friend of mine – Dr. Shawn M. Greener. Very, very wise:

The Recipient class won out over the producer class yesterday.

There are harsh and historic economic consequences for said victory. Asked for donations? “Since Obama won I can’t.”

Asked to purchase anything non essential or not from fellow conservatives, for the movement or your preparations for survival? “I’m sorry, I’d really like to buy this or that, but since Obama was re elected, I can’t.”

If you’re a conservative business owner and asked for a job by a liberal prospect? “I’m sorry, I’d like to hire you but since Obama was elected, I can’t.”

Buy only from conservative companies. Hire only conservatives.

Cancel your liberal TV programming. Break the back of the biased media outlets. Bankrupt them.

Do not buy from liberal sponsors of programs, and call the sponsors and tell them, “I’d like to watch that program or movie and patronize your business, but since Obama was elected, I just cannot.”

We must create conservative exchanges of commerce and patronize only conservative businesses.

Pressure liberal AND conservative elected officials on every bill, every legislative bill… We must exert overwhelming influence in an ongoing basis, ad infinitum. Relentless pressure.

Benghazi? Draw the whole truth to the surface and use OUR media to get that story out to the people, all the people. Pressure. Unrelenting pressure.

Slumber in shifts. Work in teams.

Unions? Your leaders helped do this to America. If you do not support them, root them out, run them out. Reclaim your union for good.

These are indeed barefoot in the snow days.

The II Revolution has begun.

Though our feet be bare, our feet bloodied and cold… We march onward. We will not relent. We will not surrender.

It IS all up to us.

So, will you stand and fight? Or give up? I will fight till my dying breath. We owe that to our military, we owe that to our children, we owe that to ourselves.

Donald Trump 'FIRED' Obama in 'Apprentice'-style

Video: Donald Trump 'FIRED' Obama in 'Apprentice'-style

First there was Clint Eastwood's now-infamous conversation with an invisible President Obama, and now a video was released showing Donald Trump upbraiding and firing an actor impersonating the commander-in-chief.

On Tuesday, Trump has confirmed to NBC that the video was produced on behalf of the Republican Party for last month's national convention, but was never shown to delegates.

The short film -- a take on Trump's show 'The Apprentice' -- was scheduled to be aired on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, but that day's program was cut because of the looming threat from Hurricane Isaac.

In the video, the gregarious real estate mogul talks back to televised clips of Obama, including one where the president said the 'private sector is doing fine.'

'The private sector's dying!' Trump responds.

The clip begins with the millionaire magnate sitting behind a desk in front of a black actor who is only seen in snippets showing the lower portion of his face and his left hand bearing a wedding band similar to the president's.

'Let's see what you've been up to,' Trump tells the Obama stand-in. 'This is your review.'

Trump opens what is meant to represent the president's work file, from which he picks out his perceived 'failures.'

'You had some clear objectives,' Trump says. 'You promised hope and change. How did you do there?'

In response, the sound of crickets is heard in the background.

'You've run up almost as much debt as every other president combined,' the mogul continues. 'I know, I know, It wasn't your fault. It's never anybody's fault. You're inherited it, right?'

The video concludes with Trump dismissing the president with his signature jabbing hand gesture all too familiar to 'Apprentice' viewers.

'The fact is the American people want results,' he says. 'President Obama, You're fired!'

Trump has long been a staunch and vocal critic on the president, standing at the helm of what has come to be known as the 'birther' movement.

The media-savvy businessman and other like-minded conservatives on the far right have questioned the legitimacy of Obama's presidency after claiming that the commander-in-chief was born is Kenya.

Seeking to put the false allegations to rest, the Obama administration released the president's birth certificate showing that he was born in Hawaii, but some on the right have dismissed the document as a forgery.

Romney Wins Texas and Clinches GOP Nomination

Mitt Romney clinched the Republican presidential nomination last night (Tuesday) with a win in the Texas primary, officially garnering the 1,144 delegates needed to claim the Republican presidential nomination.  It was a triumph of endurance for the candidate who came up short four years ago and had to fight hard this year as voters flirted with a carousel of GOP rivals, all slugging it out and scratching to reach the prize.

Romney

According to The Associated Press count, Romney surpassed the 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination by winning at least 97 delegates in the Texas primary.

The former Massachusetts governor has reached the nomination milestone with a steady message of concern about the U.S. economy, a campaign organization that dwarfed those of his GOP foes and a fundraising operation second only to that of his Democratic opponent in the general election, President Barack Obama.

Romney is the first Mormon nominated by a major party. His religion has been somewhat less of an issue than it was during his failed bid four years ago; perhaps because the economy is on the forefront of everyone’s mind.  Plus many question President Obama’s honesty about his religion, so believe a Mormon is a definite improvement over a Reverend Wright style Christian or perhaps a closet Muslim.

"We did it!" Romney proclaimed in a message to supporters, noting that "it's only the beginning."

Romney was not in Texas, however, but in Las Vegas at a major fundraiser hosted by supporter Donald Trump.

Romey and Trump

"An honor and a privilege and a great responsibility," Romney told supporters at a fundraiser in Las Vegas. "And I know the road to 1,144 was long and hard, but I also know that the road to 11-06…  Nov. 6th… is also going to be long and it's going to be hard and it's going to be worth it because we're going to take back the White House and get America right again."

Romney with Vets in Craig CO - Memorial Day

Romney thanks troops in new campaign video

Romney must now fire up those conservatives who still doubt him while persuading swing voters that he can do a better job fixing the nation's struggling economy than Obama. In Obama, he faces a well-funded candidate with a proven campaign team, but in his favor, in an election year that will be heavily influenced by the negative economy… Obama’s economy.

Romney's campaign went on the attack Tuesday, releasing a Web video citing the Obama administration's loan-guarantee investments in four renewable-energy firms that lost money and laid off workers.

The message, "President Obama is fundamentally hostile to job creators",  has been a theme of the Romney campaign since he launched his presidential bid. But sensing this as an opportunity to reach a new audience, the campaign planned to highlight Obama's support for the failed renewable energy company Solyndra, among other private ventures the Obama administration helped support.

"We need to have presidents who understand how this economy works," Romney told reporters Tuesday. "Sometimes I just don't think he understands what it takes to help people. I know he wants to help, but he doesn't know what he's got to do."

Romney's message and his big day, however, were somewhat overshadowed by real estate mogul Donald Trump and his discredited suggestions that Obama wasn't born in the United States.  Course others were cheering that Trump had the guts to say it.

Romney spent Tuesday evening at a Las Vegas fundraiser with Trump, who had toyed with the idea of running for president earlier in the election season. Romney says he believes Obama was born in America but has yet to condemn Trump's repeated insinuations to the contrary.

Both Trump and Romney steered clear of the issue at Tuesday's, said to have been successful, fundraiser. (Coincidentally, Romney officially released his birth certificate yesterday.)

When asked Monday about Trump's contentions, Romney said, "I don't agree with all the people who support me. And my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in." He added, "But I need to get 50.1 percent or more. And I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people."

"He's going to turn this country around. He's going to create jobs like you haven't seen for many, many years," Trump declared. "We were a great country. Soon we won't be a great country at all... Mitt Romney will make us a great country again."  Later in the evening Trump told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, “Romney understands what needs to be done with China!”

Republicans won't officially nominate Romney until late August at the GOP national convention in Tampa, Florida. At latest count, Romney now has 1,183 convention delegates.

He won at least 97 delegates in Texas with 33 left to be decided. The 152 delegates in Texas are awarded in proportion to the statewide vote. The other delegates were sprinkled among several candidates.

Texas Republicans also voted in a Senate primary to choose a candidate to run for the seat being vacated by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and state Solicitor General Ted Cruz were headed to a runoff in July.

With about three-fourths of precincts reporting, Dewhurst led with 45 percent of the vote compared to 33 percent for Cruz. Dewhurst, however, fell short of the majority he needed to avoid a runoff. The nominee will be strongly favored to win in November in heavily Republican Texas.

Romney, 65, is clinching the presidential nomination later in the calendar than any recent Republican candidate, but not quite as late as Obama in 2008. Obama clinched the Democratic nomination on June 3, 2008, at the end of an epic primary battle with now Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Four years ago, John McCain reached the delegate threshold on March 4, after Romney dropped out of the race about a month earlier.

This year's primary fight was extended by a back-loaded primary calendar because of new GOP rules that generally awarded fewer delegates for winning a state, changes they seemed to regret as the campaign bogged down.  Plus the Republican electorate seemed to enjoy extending the battle before settling on Romney.

Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and yes… Donald Trump all sat at the top the Republican field at some point. Minnesota Rep. And at one point early on, Ron Paul also appeared to have the ability to secure the top spot for a short time.  But Romney outlasted them all, even as some GOP voters and tea party backers questioned his conservative credentials.

The primary race started in January with Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, narrowly edging Romney in the Iowa caucuses. Romney rebounded with a big win in New Hampshire before Gingrich, the former House speaker, won South Carolina.

Romney responded with a barrage of negative ads against Gingrich in Florida and got a much-needed 14-point win. Romney's opponents fought back: Gingrich called him a liar, and Santorum said Romney was "the worst Republican in the country" to run against Obama.

Gingrich and Santorum assailed Romney's work at Bain Capital, the private equity firm he co-founded, saying the firm sometimes made millions at the expense of workers and jobs. It is a line of attack that Obama has promised to carry all the way to November.

On Feb. 7 Santorum swept all three contests in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota, raising questions about Romney's status as the front-runner. After a 17-day break in the voting, Romney responded with wins in Arizona, Michigan and Washington state before essentially locking up the nomination on March 6, this year's version of Super Tuesday.

Romney has already been in general-election mode for weeks, raising money and focusing on Obama, largely ignoring the primaries since his competitors dropped out or stopped campaigning. Santorum suspended his campaign April 10, and Gingrich left the race a few weeks later.  Texas Rep. Ron Paul said on May 14 he would no longer compete in primaries, though his supporters are still working to gain national delegates at state conventions.

Both Santorum and Gingrich initially offered tepid endorsements of Romney as the left the race but Gingrich is now actively promoting Romney's campaign.

Among those in the crowd in Vegas last night: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who joined his former rival on the trail for the first time since dropping his own bid for the Republican nomination last month.

While Gingrich didn't speak at the fundraiser, he talked to reporters ahead of the event, defending Romney's muted reaction to Trump's birther conspiracies.

"Gov. Romney is not distracted, the Republican Party is not distracted. We believe this is an American-born, job-killing president," Gingrich told reporters, per the Los Angeles Times. "Other people may believe that he was born somewhere else and still kills jobs, but that's an argument over background. The key fact is for any American worried about the economy, Obama is a job-killing president."

Rich Galen, a Republican strategist who has been unaligned in the 2012 race thus far, said the long, sometimes nasty primary fight should have helped Romney fine-tune his campaign organization so it can operate effectively in the general election. Galen doesn't, however, think it was relevant in toughening up Romney for the battle against Obama.  Not quite sure how that follows, but we shall see!

"Romney's been running for president for six years. He is as good a candidate as he's ever going to be," Galen said. "Whatever you say about him, he was better than everybody else in the race."

So the general now officially begins!  Game on….

Romney Meeting and Greeting

Romney’s official announcement sent out to his online supporters:

Friend,

Tonight, we surpassed 1,144 delegates and secured the nomination. I am grateful and humbled by your support through this process. We did it!

This has been an extraordinary journey. And yet it's only the beginning.

Now all Republicans can move forward toward our convention in Tampa. There, we will stand united as a party with a winning ticket for America. Ours will be a campaign to unite every American who knows in his or her heart that we can do better.

There's much to be done by November 6th - but with your help, we will get it done!

Thank you for standing with me.
Mitt Romney

The Race for the White House 2012… Perhaps Not All Horses to the Gates

Sarah Palin, Jeb Bush, Donald Trump… New GOP Contenders, Third Party Runs Or Just Hype?

It is becoming more and more evident that conservative and independent voters aren’t sure that they have found the winning candidate to beat Barack Obama or that the candidate they are looking for has stepped up yet.  What they can agree on is that the main goal is making Barack Obama a one term president'; that this is the most important election of our lifetime and maybe in the history of the U.S.; and that Election 2012 is going to be a rough, tough and dirty fight! It is also becoming more and more evident that the Presidential  Election process in 2012 is going to be unconventional!

There is speculation everywhere about possible late-entering GOP candidates like Sarah Palin of Jeb Bush.  There are also thoughts that Dr. Chuck Baldwin, Presidential Candidate for the Constitutional Party, might still jump in again, or that Ron Paul could make a 3rd Party run if he doesn’t get the GOP nomination (highly unlikely on both counts in my opinion) and then there is the Trump factor.  There are some other speculations, but these are the ones that matter or could make a difference.

If you’re Sarah Palin, Donald Trump or Jeb Bush, all you have to do is open your mouth and the speculation runs wild and generates news on both sides.  And that is because all any of those three need to do is say, “I’m in” and the entire race changes.

Palin announced in October she wasn’t running for president. Bush has been saying it for two years. But both were  back in the headlines last week with some timely thoughts on American politics and the present GOP field.

Palin might just have been having some fun, but told Fox News it wasn’t too late for someone to get into the Republican contest. Plus the former Alaska governor admitted she wasn’t yet impressed enough with any of the current gang of seven candidates to make her endorsement.

“You know, it’s not too late for folks to jump in. I don’t know, who knows what will happen in the future,” Palin mused. “You know, my endorsement is going to be with sincerity and enthusiasm and I’m just not there yet with the field as it stands.”

Does this mean Palin is reconsidering her decision. There’s no sign one way or the other that she is taking another look. But,  Palin’s comment generated dozens of headlines raising the possibility.  And according to ElectionMeter, she is more popular than Mitt Romney.

Per ElectionsMeter: Sarah Palin More Popular Than Mitt Romney, Republican Party

h/t to Gary P. Jackson at a Time for Choosing

ElectionsMeter tracks 90 day popularity trends. In the quarter ending December 23, 2011, Sarah Palin rates higher than Mitt Romney, and the Republican Party as a whole. This is an online poll, so not as scientific as others, but telling none the less.

Sarah Palin 49.4%:

Mitt Romney 48%:

GOP 42.6%:

The most popular person in this poll though isn’t a politician at all. Dr Martin Luther King is by far, the most popular in this poll at 57.6%:

And ditto for Jeb Bush, who was out with an op-ed piece in last week’s Wall Street Journal (See link) on the threat leaders in Washington pose to capitalism and economic freedom.
Again, there is nothing – other than the timing of the piece, just ahead of the Iowa caucuses – to suggest Bush might be giving second thought to a late ‘for the sake of the party’ run in 2012.  But it was enough to generate a lot of speculation.

It has long been assumed that Bush, if he was ever to run for president, would wait until 2016, giving some space between his candidacy and his brother George W. Bush’s term in office. And with good reason. If Rick Perry has suffered from the fact that he shares only the title – Texas governor – with George W. Bush, then it’s a safe to say Jeb would suffer from having the same last name. For many Americans, not just Democrats, it’s likely still too soon to even contemplate another Bush in the White House. let along elect one.  But that won’t stop anyone from speculating.

And then there is Donald Trump who just switched parties from Republican to Independent and who has said all along that he was leaving the door open to running as a 3rd party candidate if he was unhappy with the GOP’s nominee.  The fact that each of the present GOP candidates has visited Mecca (Trump Tower) this election season to get Trump’s blessing, advice and perhaps an endorsement and then declined to participate in the NewsMax GOP debate scheduled for December 27th where Trump would have been the host was surely the catalyst for this move.  According to Politico, which first reported Trump's party switch, he will still be able to vote in the New York presidential primary next April. Trump had once also been a registered Democrat.

My thoughts on the Trump are that if his concern is really for the good of the country he should re-register as a Democrat and run against Obama in the Democratic Primary.  There might be enough moderates and Dems just fed –up with Obama that maybe he could beat him and if not he’d weaken him and cause him to have to use up a good chunk of his war chest.  And if he won the Democratic nomination and beat the GOP’s candidate, we’d still be better off.

A straight third party run will guarantee 4 more years of Obama and a move from the United State of America becoming the United Socialist-States of America and a weak contender on the world stage.

As for Palin, I think she is a lot stronger and more popular than we think or than the media has allowed us to think. And I also believe that if she jumped it, it would clear the field.  We’d have Palin and Romney plus Gingrich and Paul for just a short while longer. If she doesn’t run she might be a smart consideration for VP for Mitt Romney who looks like he will be the GOP candidate if Palin doesn’t run.

And as for Jeb, he’d be smart not to jump in now.  The “W” wounds, whether you think fair or not are still too fresh!

2012 will absolutely be the most important election of our lives! Let us make sure that we and everyone we encounter understand what is at stake, why it matters and what is true, as well as to make sure that voter registration, the actual voting process, and the vote count is honest and accurate.

Cannon Falls, MN Obama's First Stop

Obama’s Big Job’s Bus Tour… 3-days ending in Chicago and then back to Washington D.C. and off to Martha’s Vineyard…

Cannon Falls, MN Obama's First Stop
by TE

Under green trees in a peaceful setting with a river flowing in the background, President Obama made his first address to rural America on Monday, August 15, in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The event appeared to be perfectly staged as he chastised  the "other side" for  "political problems", not "government problems"  in Congress.  After his address, ten questions asked by loyal Obama supporters fed the fuel for the man in the white shirt with kaki colored pants taking credit for everything good and accepting none of the blame for anything bad.

All of this was, of course, done under the pretext of not campaigning for the 2012 election.  This may have seemed somewhat believable, until toward the end of the questioning one man praised Obama and said:  "I don't think we should solve this debt crisis on the backs of the middle class and poor.  We should have the millionaires and billionaires to do this.  I campaigned and voted for you in 2008 and I will do the same in 2012."

Many rural listeners of  RFD TV  tuning in to hear the special televised program that had preempted the regular programming of the Julie Goodnight, Aaron Raslton, and Craig Cameron horse shows may have been disappointed because the president did not directly speak about Executive Order 13575 that he signed on June 9 designed to begin taking control of over almost all aspects of the lives of the 16% of our population that live in rural areas.

Around 200 people were in attendance sitting around picnic tables and folding chairs.  President Obama began his speech by recognizing the attendance of Governor Mark Dayton (Democrat); Senator Al Franken (D); Senior Senator Amy Klobuchar (member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, an affiliate of the Democratic Party.); Representative Tim Wallace ; Congressman Keith Ellison ( member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party; Agriculture Secretary Vilsack; and Major Robby Robinson

The address mainly consisted of praise from Obama by the hand selected questioners and a rehash of how $5 Billion in assistance to small and medium size farmers had been used  to  continue  programs for: expanding broadband service, biofuels, green energy, and job creation.

image

He began his speech by offering excuses for a bad economy.  Blaming the Arab Spring and Japanese Tsunami,  he said these things are not in our control, but the political climate is. He urged people to contact their representatives.  He said "We now have a political culture that doesn't want to move America forward, but want to place the burden on future generations... The debt ceiling is a self-inflicted wound and had his plan been put forth to fix the situation, the other side would rather see their opponents lose than have America win."  He warned:  "We cannot have patience with that kind of behavior anymore."

His five-step plan that he is hoping  Congress will implement includes:

    1.  Renewing  the payroll tax credit which, according to Obama, "would put $1000 in your pocket".

    2.  Rebuild America by passing the Infrastructure Bill

    3.  Corporations would be given tax credits for hiring veterans

    4.  Expanded trade deals to ship "Made in America" goods such as cars to other countries

    5.  Encourage entrepreneurs by investing in their ideas

Pushing the philosophy for "Taxing the Rich", he said that Warren Buffet had told him, "We got to stop coddling billionaires like me" (…after which Buffet admitted he had cheated on his taxes).  Obama wants more spending for investments in education, research, and infrastructure, but also believes we need to cut back on programs that don't work.  He compared the answer to our deficit problem as "much like running his own household, where if he told Michelle that she had to cut back on her spending, but he would keep his golf clubs... wouldn't work."

By the way, if an average were taken, Michelle Obama has taken one out of every nine days since they’ve been in the White House for vacation and Obama has golfed nearly every weekend.

Following the Cannon Falls event, the President will host a town hall event in Decorah, Iowa at Seed Savers Exchange.  Tuesday, August 16th, he will travel to Peosta, IA for a Rural Economic Forum at Northeast Iowa Community College.  The economic bus tour will also feature events in Atkinson and Alpha, Illinois on Wednesday, August 17 before the President returns to Washington.

Maybe at one of these events he will begin to clue us in on  his Executive Order for Rural America which has undertones of a UN take over of our nation's Heartland.

Barack Obama Running From Barry Soetoro

By Larry Johnson on April 18, 2011 at 1:00 AM in Current Affairs

* Bumped Up *

While Donald Trump pursues the dead end that Barack Obama was born in Kenya (HE WAS NOT), the actual elephant in the room that most of the media and pundits studiously ignore is the fact that Barack Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and, for most of his life as a child and teenager, Barack was commonly known as Barry Soetoro. The adoption was processed in Indonesia after Barry and his mother moved to Indonesia. The adoption was carried out in Indonesia and not the United States.

Barry Obama’s mom married an Indonesian student named Lolo Soetoro in 1966. The new family moved to Indonesia in 1967 and the six year old Barry was enrolled in school. Barack Obama has not released his adoption records, but the adoption took place in the 1966-67. How do we know?

Look at the enrollment card:

Actually, this document also provides strong circumstantial evidence to buttress the claim that Barry Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii. How?

Obama was enrolled by his parents in a public school, Fransiskus Assisi School, a public school, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The school registration clearly states Obama’s name as “Barry Soetoro,” and lists his citizenship as Indonesian. Obama’s father is listed as Lolo Soetoro. PLEASE NOTE ITEM NUMBER TWO–Obama’s place of birth is Honolulu (Hawaii) and date of birth is 4-8-1961 (the Indonesians put the date, ie “4,” and then the month, ie “8.” He is identified as a Citizen of Indonesia.

So does this mean Barack Obama is ineligible to be President? No. He did not renounce his American citizenship. By virtue of being born in Hawaii to a U.S. citizen, his mother, he is a U.S. citizen.

Now, look at the Hawaiian law governing adoptions. Here are the relevant portions:

Access to Original Birth Certificate
Citation: Rev. Stat. §§ 578-14; 578-15; 338-20

If a new birth certificate is issued, the original birth certificate shall be sealed. The sealed document may be opened by the department only by an order of a court or when requested in accordance with § 578-15.

The birth parent may be provided a copy of the original birth certificate upon request.

Barry Obama’s birth father did not have to consent to the adoption because he had been out of the picture for more than two years. According to Hawaiian law (I have put the relevant paragraphs in bold):

When Parental Consent is not Needed
Citation: Rev. Stat. § 578-2
Consent is not required from the following:

A parent who has deserted a child for a period of 90 days without affording means of identification

A parent who has voluntarily surrendered the care and custody of the child to another for a period of 2 years
A parent, whose child is in the custody of another, who has failed for a period of at least 1year to communicate with the child or provide for the care and support of the child when able to do so

A natural father who was not married to the child’s mother at the time of the child’s conception or birth and has not established paternity

A parent whose parental rights have been judicially terminated
A parent judicially declared mentally ill, mentally retarded, or incapacitated from giving consent

Any legal guardian or custodian who is found by the court to be withholding consent unreasonably

A parent of a child who has been in the custody of a petitioner for at least 1 year and who entered the United States as a consequence of extraordinary circumstances in the child’s country of origin, by reason of which the existence, identity, or whereabouts of the child’s parents is not reasonably ascertainable or there is no reasonable means of obtaining suitable evidence of the child’s identity or availability for adoption

Any parent of the adoptee if the adoptee is an adult eligible for adoption under this section
A parent whose parental and custodial duties and rights have been divested by an award of permanent custody pursuant to § 587-73

Barry Obama was adopted in Indonesia, not the United States. The relevant Hawaiian statute states:

State Recognition of Intercountry Adoptions Finalized Abroad

To better understand this issue and to view it across States, download the PDF (414 KB) of this publication.
Effect and Recognition of a Foreign Adoption Decree
Citation: Rev. Stat. § 578-8(c)

In cases in which a child is adopted from a foreign country and is brought into the State, the court, in its discretion, may dispense with a hearing upon receipt of a sworn affidavit, ex parte, from the adoptive parents requesting that the hearing be dispensed with, and upon a finding that the issues it would have reviewed have received full consideration by the country from which the child was adopted and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

One other piece of circumstantial evidence that Barack Obama was, at one point in his life, legally known as Barry Soetoro comes from the 1980 divorce of Obama’s birth mother and his adopted father, Lolo Soetoro.

You do not stipulate in a divorce decree that a “child” older than 18 but “still dependent on the parties for education” is part of the settlement unless there is a legal tie to the step-father.

This is why the original birth certificate remains such a mystery. The Obama campaign team decided early on that the American people would not understand how a guy could at one time be a citizen of Indonesia and is still eligible to run for President in the United States. I think they underestimated the ability of Americans to understand this point, but such is the nature of politics.

I know this won’t settle anything, but we can at least admit that back in 1967, years before anyone thought Barry Soetoro would run for President, a school enrollment form in Indonesia makes the very simple claim that Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama was born in Honolulu in 1961. Barack’s mom and his step-dad had no reason to lie about that.

If there are any lawyers out there who care to shed more light on this, please weigh in.

Ok ladies and gents, fire away.

Tax Day Tea Party Rallies were held all across America yesterday and today and regardless of what the mainstream media is reporting the numbers of attendees are the same if not higher than last year.  There were rallies from California to New Hampshire, Texas to Florida, the Carolinas to Oregon, Virginia to Kansas and they they featured speakers including:  Donald Trump, Rep Alan West, Herman Cain, Gov Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio, Sharron Angle, Gov Tim Pawlenty, Rep Tom McClintok, Phyllis Schlafly, Rep. If Sarah Palin’s not running for president, what a terrible waste that would be of the single best stump speech I’ve heard since, well, Palin’s ’08 convention speech, which just happened to be the single most electrifying political moment of my adult life. A thrill didn’t just run up my leg that night, it ran up everything in me that’s American, and today in Madison, WI, it happened again. Surrounded by an obnoxiously hostile, astro-turfed, pro-union crowd that tried and failed to drown out her message with obnoxiously hostile astro-turfed noise, the former Alaskan Governor took the fight directly to the growing pile of Obama’s failures in the most effective way we’ve heard yet from a potential GOP challenger.

If you want to know why Obama’s Palace Guards in the MSM are determined to destroy this woman and all of popular culture has risen up to help, press PLAY. If you want to know why the GOP Establishment had better start looking over their collective shoulders, press PLAY.

Cut Back America!!!

The President ordered the cabinet to cut a $100 million from the $3.5 trillion federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget. I spend about $2000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc, but it's time to get out the budget cutting ax, go line by line through my expenses, and cut back!

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio - 1/35,000 of my total budget.  After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2000 a month; I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents!

Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about.  I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries. (Did Obama actually think no one would do the math?)

O’Reilly Shamelessly Lies To Cover Obama’s Origins – Fox News Scrubs Its Site

Fox News Scrubs Its Site: O’Reilly Shamelessly Lies To Cover Obama’s Origins

Here's The Right Side Of It

April 15, 2011 by John L. Work

Not Looking Out For You

The once-vaunted Fox News network has joined the rest of the liberal, establishment media in providing cover and concealment for the origins of Barack Obama.  This morning on Peter Boyles’ Denver KHOW talk-radio show, Washington Times columnist Jeff Kuhner spoke about the “birther” story and its widely-known (and feared) underground status within the nation’s capital.  Boyles has been a hound on the trail of the cover-up for the past three years.  Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, not to mention Glenn Beck and contributor Ann Coulter, long ago jumped into the Orwellian chorus of them who will not see what is directly in front of their faces.

(It is this ring or untouchable news that just might have been what pushed Beck into the decision to leave Fox News!!  Beck has become more and more outspoken, whether indirectly or directly on many “protected subjects” even at Fox News like the true seriousness of the radical Islam issue in America and around the world and the importance of standing with Israel, although the “birther” issue is not a line that even Beck has crossed.  (Also see:  Why Fox Fired Glenn Beck… Or Perhaps Not?)

Boyles says that Fox has now gone to the astonishing length of scrubbing its website of O’Reilly’s blatant lying two nights ago, during his “talking points” segment, when he claimed that Obama’s possession of a Connecticut Social Security number is perfectly legitimate because Barack Obama, Sr. lived in that state when he was a student at Harvard University.  It is a demonstrably impossible scenario.  The e-mails that came in from incredulous Fox News viewers who caught on in a heartbeat to O’Reilly’s mendacity have also been removed from the web and from the site.  The material has vanished down the Orwellian memory hole.  Laura Ingraham is currently sitting in as the show’s substitute host.

You can listen to the Kuhner interview here – scroll down and click on the7:00 a.m.link:

http://www.khow.com/cc-common/podcast/single_page.html?podcast=fullshow_boyles

The Democrats must continue trying to stifle the story because, if the truth comes out that the President was not Constitutionally eligible to run for his office, it will cause long-term devastation to the leftist political agenda and to its very foundational party structure.  The Democrats staked their entire future on this man-without-a-history, who has broken nearly every promise he made during his 2008 campaign.  (However, several states (including Oklahoma and Arizona) have already passed and eligibility law which will require all candidates to produce their “official” birth certificates in order to be listed on the ballot in their state.)

The mainstream good-ol’-boy Republicans are turning a blind eye because they believe that it’s a losing political argument.  There is no principle within the strategy.  It is completely politically shaped and it is without a shred of courage or ethics.  They are, not to make a pun here, abjectly ignoring the biggest elephant that has ever walked into the nation’s living room – a President who has a sufficiently dark secret within his history that he is willing to spend millions of dollars in legal fees to keep it from becoming public knowledge.  And the Fox News network is now complicit in the dodging of the question:  Who is Barack Hussein Obama and from whence came he?  (Funny how the Republicans don’t seem to remember that John McCain, son and grandson of “two” four star Admirals and a naval officer (and Vietnam POW  himself) in the U.S. Navy and born on a military installation in the Canal Zone in Panama was required to answer questions about where he was born.  McCain was not the first person to find himself in these circumstances. The last Arizona Republican to be a presidential nominee, Barry Goldwater, faced the issue. He was born in the Arizona territory in 1909, three years before it became a state.  I would think that doing the same with Obama would normally be considered tit for tat.  His situation is much more questionable!!)

The result of all of this, whether attributable to O’Reilly’s blind ambitions to continue grabbing Presidential interviews or to the influence of the Saudi Arabian News-Corp buy-in with Rupert Murdoch, is that Bill O’Reilly and Fox have become what he once told us is bad – a mendacious blow-hard television pseudo-reporter who does no more than to run interference for the radical left’s destructive political agenda.

This type of reporting is adding to the popularity of possible presidential candidate Donald Trump, who is at least willing to as the questions…!!!

The Donald… Donald Trump: Obama presidency possibly illegal and Says American Airports are "Third World"

'To be honest with you, I want him to have a birth certificate'

Posted: March 29, 2011  -  1:35 am Eastern  -  By Joe Kovacs  -  © 2011 WorldNetDaily

Billionaire developer and possible Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is now suggesting Barack Obama's presidency could be "illegal" if legitimate proof is not provided demonstrating the commander in chief is indeed a "natural born citizen" of the U.S.

Trump's use of the "I" word came last night during a phoneinterviewwith Greta Van Susteren of the Fox News Channel.

Help get TV commercials on the air to bust Obama's eligibility wide open!

"To be honest with you, I want him to have a birth certificate," Trump said, "because [otherwise] that would mean that his presidency was, I guess you'd have to say, illegal. You have to be born in the United States. I hope that he was born in the United States. I hope – but I want to get rid of the word hope, I want to know for sure – I hope that he was born in the United States and I hope this doesn't become a big issue."

Video:  Donald Trump on Fox: Obama's Presidency May Be Illegal - 3/28/2011

Trump defended so-called "birthers," explaining, "They just want to see the president was born in this country."

He also called into question Hawaii's Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie for suggesting he remembered when Obama was born nearly a half century ago.

"I'll bet he didn't even know the parents 50 years ago," Trump said. "I think it's absolutely insane. What he's doing is taking a bullet for the party by making a statement that, 'I remember.'"

Trump also wondered why no doctors or nurses have come forward to announce their presence at Obama's birth.

"Here's the president of the United States, and no doctor, no nurse, nobody's come forward saying, 'I delivered that beautiful baby.'"

A photo of Donald Trump's hospital-generated birth certificate (courtesy ABC News)

Earlier in the day,Trump released an image of his own hospital-generated birth certificate from the Jamaica Hospital in Queens, N.Y., and brought up Obama's spending of large sums of money to keep the history of his early years under wraps.

"He spent millions of dollars trying to get away from this issue. Millions of dollars in legal fees trying to get away from this issue. I brought it up just routinely. All of a sudden a lot of facts are emerging, and I'm starting to wonder myself whether he was born in this country," Trump said on "Fox & Friends."

"This guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn't," he added. "I didn't think it was such a big deal, but I will tell you it's turning out to be a very big deal. Because people now are calling me from all over saying please don't give up on this issue.

AsWND reported just a week ago, not even one person in 10 says Barack Obama has shown that he is eligible to be president, according to a new scientific poll that also reveals political independents have less tolerance than even Republicans for his efforts to obfuscate the issue. Another 32 percent would disregard the questions entirely, concluding they are not valid.

While much of the concern centers on Obama's birthcertificate– he's refused to release his originaldocumentspecifying the birth hospital and doctor's name, substituting instead a computer-generated summary of information purportedly in the Hawaii state archives – there are numerous other documents that remain unavailable.

These are the types of records that typically are available for major political leaders such as someone occupying the Oval Office. They include his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and his adoption records.

Donald Trump: American Airports are "Third World"

The appeal of Donald Trump is due to the man’s bluntness. It’s remarkably refreshing to hear, even if you disagree with his conclusions.

For instance, The Donald is no fan of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, telling HUMAN EVENTS that Iraq in particular is now the “Harvard University of terrorism.”  Trump would rather build American infrastructure, rather than the infrastructure of some foreign country, especially in a region of the world where a costly piece of property is likely to get blown sky high.

Trump’s philosophy: “I want to build our highways.  When I look at airports in China, at airports in Abu Dhabi and Qatar and the different places, [and then] you land in New York, at LaGuardia Airport, at Kennedy Airport, it’s like a Third World airport system.” (We can attest, LaGuardia Airport is on par with a rat hole.)

Here’s part three of our wide-ranging and in-depth interview with one of the most successful businessmen in the history of the planet. Besides America’s crumbling infrastructure, don’t miss what he has to say about George W. Bush.

Exit question: If a President Donald Trump were given what he thought was solid intelligence from this country and our allies abroad, that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction and was ready to use them, what would he have done? Find out.

O'Leary: NRA, Evangelical Uprising Will Win in 2012

The GOP has a clear shot at retaking the White House in 2012, but winning will require strong support from core groups such as the National Rifle Association, Christian conservatives, and the ever-expanding tea party movement, veteran political consultant and best-selling author Brad O’Leary tells Newsmax.

“How can Obama be beaten? You have to talk to the people about what he really believes.” says O’Leary, publisher of The O’Leary Report and co-author of a book in process titled “How Obama Can Be Defeated in 2012.”

“You’re not going to be able to fight this election and win unless you have the support of the NRA. That’s a truism we can start with,” says O’Leary, who adds that the current administration’s poor record on gun rights has cost the Democrats dearly in recent elections.

“In his heart, President [Barack] Obama would love to take on the NRA. He believes that restrictions on owning a gun can be put in place by the states. Hardly anyone in America would be able to own a gun,” O’Leary says. “Will the Democratic Party, who suffered such a calamity in the last election, have the guts to take on the NRA? I think they’ll choose to be hypocrites all the way.”

The NRA's power will be on display next month at its annual members' meeting in Pittsburgh. Attendance hit a record of 71,000 last year, and this year's event could draw an all-time high of 75,000.

In a wide-ranging interview with Newsmax.TV, O’Leary also expounded on:

  • The solid cadre of national conservative candidates and how that field is likely to shake out this election cycle
  • The administration’s efforts to appoint activist judges to rewrite the Constitution and impinge on American freedoms
  • Obama’s brand of Christianity and how it fuels his strong belief in the redistribution of wealth.

Like NRA members, O’Leary says Christian conservatives are likely to be driven to the polls in record numbers in 2012 to hold the line on issues and positions they feel the Obama administration is threatening.

“Religious conservatives … weren’t out in massive number last election but they’re there,” O’Leary tells Newsmax. “Anyone who thinks we solved gay marriage, and solved many other issues that would turn people out doesn’t know anything about America.

“Since the Civil War, churches have played an important part in turning out their people to vote in elections,” he says.
Even with the NRA and the Christian vote secured, however, GOP candidates need to be mindful of the burgeoning power of the tea party, O’Leary adds.

“Any successful candidate . . . is going to have to have the support of groups like the tea party,” he insists. “They are not going away. They didn’t come to the table and elect so many people, especially electing 700 new state representatives, [to] then fade into the darkness of politics.

“They are going to have more time to organize, more time to turn people out, and they’re going to get you focusing on the issues.”

O’Leary says he thinks all of the candidates being mentioned in the 2012 GOP presidential mix will be willing to take the gloves off and challenge Obama on the issues in a way they didn’t in 2008.

Most of the candidates and potential candidates now aren’t getting a lot of attention from voters because they aren’t as “flashingly politically famous as we’ve had in previous elections.”

O’Leary’s take on some of the top GOP contenders:

Mitt Romney: “Tested. Good organization and business background. Hasn’t quite learned the terms that are going to sell his vision yet.”

Mike Huckabee: “Has a certain warmth that gets through to his audience and will get through to America.”

Sarah Palin: “She loves her family so much and owes so much to them. Running for president is very difficult, but if she decides to run, she has the right priorities!”

Tim Pawlenty: “Started slow. Picked up momentum. He could be the last guy standing.”

Haley Barbour: “Successful at everything he’s done. The more you see Haley, the more you like him.”

Rick Santorum: “Been silent politically for years. Just allowing himself to get re-known by the American public.”

Donald Trump: “Hard time believing someone as successful as Trump is going to take the time necessary to run for president.  But he is beholden to no one and speaks his mind.”

On the subject of activist judges, O’Leary calls Supreme Court justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor “total examples” of the administration’s desire to effect liberal legislative changes from the bench.
