Israel: Time’s Up

As the clock runs down and the urgency mounts, the Administration continues to douse Israel’s hopes of surviving an apocalyptic confrontation with Iran. Amid laughable claims from the White House of cooperation with Israel having never been closer, the war drums with Iran are louder than ever and the dark, threatening clouds of destruction over Israel loom ever lower. If death weren’t descending on us, I would have to get a hold of myself to stop laughing over that claim. Yes, our support of Israel is so overt, it’s covert. In fact, it is non-existent. Obama and his administration have engaged in repeated instances of disrespecting Christianity and Judaism, and Israel in particular, while openly praising and supporting all things Islam, even unto its most extreme manifestations. Talk about keeping faith with his Muslim roots!

As Americans are embroiled in political theater, Israel faces an existential threat with Iran. It is coming… in July alone 70,000 gas masks were doled out and a record number of bomb shelters were sold and built. Many in Israel are renovating bomb shelters in their apartment buildings or sealing rooms, so they can provide protection in the event of biological and chemical attacks. Hmmm… Maybe that should also be on American’s to-do lists. Just sayin’. Some of Israel’s local authorities are also getting ready. In Tel Aviv, they have unveiled plans to put up about 800,000 residents in 60 underground parking lots in case of an attack. Serious business indeed.

But never fear, our intrepid leaders are on top of things – not. Unless of course you count Obama sending a diplomat from the US with Ban Ki-Moon to Tehran’s hosting of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) conference this last week – I notice that didn’t even make the news. It is also being reported that Netanyahu got into a diplomatic shouting match with US Ambassador Dan Shapiro over President Barack Obama’s handling of Iran’s nuclear program, saying “time has run out” for diplomacy. Truer words were never shouted. Time’s up.

And while Israel prepares for the end of the world as they know it, Iran has doubled its nuclear development. And their good buds the Russians, are developing a sea-based space-defense system. This blog has long contended the Russkies will use Iran and the other radical Islamic countries to do as much of their dirty work as possible in a long planned for conquest. But Russia is not alone. Oh no… North Korea has made “significant” nuclear reactor progress according to the IAEA. Tick… China is the world’s new ascending military power. Tick, tick… And, wait for it, police in Bolivia confiscated around two tons of uranium found near the U.S. and Spanish embassies in the capital, La Paz last week. Geez, wonder what that was going to be used for? Nothing to see here… tick, bloody tock.

The White House and the Obama administration are using Taqiyya and are telling outright lies about cooperating with Israel to infidel Americans, while stabbing her in the back and promising the kill to Iran. They are doing this using their lap dogs, the American mainstream media, to spew propaganda that would make Joseph Goebbels proud and is reminiscent of Nazi Germany. They are playing out the clock to ensure Iran has time to fully arm and carry out their bloody jihad. Only the intentionally deaf, dumb and blind don’t see this. We are repeating horrific history.

While alleging ‘cooperation’ with Israel, the US is now scaling back participation in military drills with them. Pulling two-thirds of our troops, trying to ensure that we hobble Israel in a strike on Iran and offer their exposed heart for a swift death blow. I can’t stand it – it is so unfathomably evil, I get literally sick thinking of it. Even TIME has openly reported it:

“Basically what the Americans are saying is, ‘We don’t trust you,’” a senior Israeli military official tells TIME.

The reductions are striking. Instead of the approximately 5,000 U.S. troops originally trumpeted for Austere Challenge 12, as the annual exercise is called, the Pentagon will send only 1,500 service members, and perhaps as few as 1,200. Patriot anti-missile systems will arrive in Israel as planned, but the crews to operate them will not. Instead of two Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships being dispatched to Israeli waters, the new plan is to send one, though even the remaining vessel is listed as a “maybe,” according to officials in both militaries.

A Pentagon spokesperson declined to discuss specifics of the reduced deployment, noting that planning for the exercise was classified. But in an e-mailed statement, Commander Wendy L. Snyder emphasized that the Israeli military has been kept informed of the changes. “Throughout all the planning and coordination, we’ve been lock-step with the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and will continue to do so,” Snyder said.

U.S. commanders privately revealed the scaling back to their Israeli counterparts more than two months ago. The official explanation was budget restrictions. But the American retreat coincided with growing tensions between the Obama and Netanyahu administrations on Israel’s persistent threats to launch an airstrike on Iran. The Islamic Republic would be expected to retaliate by missile strikes, either through its own intermediate range arsenal or through its proxy, the Hizballah militia, which has more than 40,000 missiles aimed at Israel from neighboring Lebanon.

It’s true that we need to cut in every way here fiscally at home, but this is not the time to effectively neuter our military and throw our staunchest ally, Israel, under the Islamic bus. I believe under a Romney Presidency, we will come to the aid of Israel and be there should she need us. That we will finally be on the right side of history and God. Enough of the evil, Marxist dogma being shoved on us and the world. The question is, will the clock run out before we get rid of Obama?

While we sit on our ‘collective’ butts and Obama calls for more diplomacy and patience so our enemies can fulfill their nihilistic agendas, Iran came out this morning and stated that if the US attacks Syria, game on. Not only that, but Iran is going to hold a massive air defense drill in October. Honestly, do you think that is for show? When murderous theocracies speak, the world and especially America should listen.

Iran will hold a massive air defense drill in October incorporating aerial and ground forces, Iranian air defense commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili announced on Saturday.

Esmaili said that the maneuver will include all of the Iranian army’s air defense systems, as well as Iranian air force fighter jets, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

This proclamation came the day after the US scaled back the American-Israel military drill. Just a coincidence I’m sure. Everything you see happening is a build up to a confrontation timed around the US presidential election and a confrontation between Iran and Israel with a whole host of players including America.

The time has come for a line to be drawn:

JERUSALEM, Sept 2 (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged world powers on Sunday to set a “clear red line” for Tehran’s atomic programme that would convince Iran they were determined to prevent it from obtaining nuclear arms.

Netanyahu’s remarks suggested a growing impatience with Israel’s main ally, the United States, and other countries that have been pressing him to give diplomacy and sanctions more time to work and hold off on any go-it-alone strike on Iran.

And…

“I believe the truth must be stated: The international community is not placing a clear red line for Iran and Iran does not see international resolve to stop its nuclear programme,” Netanyahu told his cabinet.

“Unless Iran sees this clear red line and this clear resolve it will not stop moving forward with its nuclear programme, and Iran must not have nuclear weapons,” he said, repeating his view that sanctions so far have not curbed Tehran’s atomic ambitions.

The clock is ticking and all of us are just about out of time. Obama knows he cannot win this election and will use a ‘scorched earth’ policy on his way out, doing as much damage as possible. This includes releasing the Blind Sheik and hobbling Israel so she can be slaughtered. Will we do nothing to stop this? Will our only obvious support continue to be running out Israel’s clock? Does Israel have to be a smoking hole and EMPs have to drop on America before we finally wake up?

A Holocaust Survivors Opens up to Her Daughter

Holocaust Revelations

Mom kept over sixty years of her private war locked up inside her.

Mom is a survivor.

It was during one of my annual visits to New York when she decided to open up to me. That week in January was so cold: with record breaking minus fifteen-degree temperatures, we decided to stay inside. Besides, being in California for the past two decades left me with thin skin and tolerance, leaving me inadequate to brave the winds.

Mom and I decided to go through her bedroom closet and organize it. Being the taller of the two, I started to take things down from the top shelf. There was a shallow cardboard box wedged in the back corner. The package had a dusty, plastic sheet over it. It seemed clear to me the box may have been there since the move-in from the early 70s'. The carton and I made our way to her bed, where inside was a brown, worn leather portfolio containing photographs. Perhaps Mom forgot it was there but I was intrigued.

I motioned to Mom, "Come over and sit down with me for a minute." She was in the back of her closet admiring a pair of shoes. At eighty-four years old, Mom wouldn't be able to navigate in a heel that tall. We shared a laugh about the impossibility that either one of us could walk in those shoes. Mom joined me at the bed, and that minute turned into four hours. Inside the binder were photos she carried with her from a Deportation Camp in Germany in the year 1945 to Ellis Island, New York in 1949.

Those few hours, sitting on her bed was when I decided to write Mom's memoirs. Her memories are the basis of another story currently in the works. The story I'd like to tell you now is about my journey. How I came about finding the information to go forward to write about Mom's journey and the kindness of many strangers.

One particular black and white photograph I found in the binder piqued my interest-a man seated, wearing a uniform with a Royal crest on his sleeves. On the back, he wrote,

"Mein Lieber Rozi,

Als Erieuchtung.

Ernst Finch

Eutin, Marz 1946"

I asked Mom who Ernst Finch was, and she replied, "He's the soldier who saved my life." There was an awkward silence for what seemed like minutes but was only seconds.

"Ernst Finch," she said again without even turning the photo over to read the inscription. I asked her what he wrote and the translation was something like, "My dear Rozi, with inspiration, his name and Eutin, the name of the city and the year."

"Please tell me what you remember about him," I asked.

"The Germans put us on a train. I don't know where they took us but it was a relief from the marching we did for days. Above us, I heard the roar of plane engines, I think. Suddenly, a loud noise, lights of many colors flashing. Our train was bombed. My cousins and I ran toward the woods. I felt the warm, sticky feel of blood on my neck when I touched it, but I really don't think I felt anything at that point. I was not in pain. I just wanted to run to safety. I ran as far as we could, until I couldn't run anymore. Weak and barely able to breathe, I fell to the ground. I don't know how long I'd been there, but I saw a tank come to me. I remember thinking, 'they'll kill us for sure'. I must have passed out because the next thing I remember was waking up in a hospital bed. At that point, I don't know how much time had passed. In the corner, sitting in a chair, much like in the picture, I see him. Ernst Finch." She pointed to the photo.

She continued with her story, the details pouring out of her like water.

"He told me the story of how his Company saw me, and my two cousins bleeding in the woods. That day was May 3, 1945. He got us Red Cross and placed us in hospitals. He sent soldiers to stand guard for our safety and a few years later, he arranged for my relatives in New York to meet your Dad and I at Ellis Island, in America."

My head was spinning as I absorbed all this new information. 'I must write her story down,' I promised myself. Living three thousand miles away, I knew this wasn't going to be an easy task. So much dialogue would be by telephone. I didn't want it to sound like an interrogation. I'm confident she had a lot of that all those years ago. In the past, the Spielberg Foundation approached Mom for her testimony. She declined them many times. I'm sure she had been questioned extensively, and would not welcome more no matter how many years passed by.

One thought kept plaguing me. I needed to thank this man, Ernst Finch and his family. Mom told me she didn't remember thanking him after the war ended. He at least deserved that much.

And so, when I got back to the comfort of my home computer, my research began. I posted a note to BAOR-British Army Of The Rhine, and included Finch's photo. I posted the same notes and photos to all the British War Museum links I could find. I posted notes to Holocaust websites, and the DP Camp websites. Months went by and I didn't hear back from anyone. I was getting discouraged.

Finally, that September, I received e-mail from a lady in London, England named Lynne Finch. She told me Ernest Finch was her father. My heart raced when I finally thought all these months of research paid off. The pieces fit until she mailed me copies of photographs. Clearly, he was not the same soldier. My photo revealed a short man, with dark hair and eyes. Her father was tall and blond. Defeated but not down, we bonded a lasting friendship to this day. Lynne Finch is still searching for any information on her dad. I do what I can to help.

After many more months of research and "googling," I found a book written about the slave labor camp Muna Lubberstedt Mom was in after Auschwitz. I contacted the author and he kindly sent me the book no charge. It is entirely written in German. Rudy Kahrs has been invaluable to me with research. He sent me copies of letters and pictures and some interpretation of the book he wrote. My next mission is to find someone to read the book to me or take up the German language.

After a few months, I got a response from BAOR's website administrator whose name is Phil.

Phil wrote me, "The uniform Ernst Finch is wearing in the photo shows he was a Warrant Officer. He's someone very important in his Company. He will do more research and get back to me." I heard nothing for a while after.

A few days later, Alan Yates emails me with more information and book recommendations. Alan confirmed what Phil wrote. Ernest Finch was a Warrant Officer, Second Class in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. I'm elated because things are starting to piece together. Alan's months of hard work eventually led to information that Ernst Finch was once Ernst Fink, who fled Germany to go to England to fight with the Kings Army. Several books on the subject list these men and women as "Enemy Aliens."

Alan has been invaluable to me, and my research. If not for him, I don't know that I would have come this far. We have become very good friends but limited only to computer bytes. One day I would very much like to meet Alan Yates in person. I thank Alan every day for his research and persistence. Without him, I doubt I would have been able to connect the dots.

Through more research, we come to find Ernst Fink was a "Dunera Boy." This was a ship by the same name that sailed from England to Australia early on in the war. Great Britain was not all convinced these 'Enemy Aliens' could be trusted, so they sent thousands there. Later on, Britain sent these men and women back to England. Many were sent back to Germany toward war's end to serve as translators in POW camps.

Ernst Fink went back to England, and then sent to France and Germany to defend Great Britain. There he stayed until 1948, serving his Army as an interpreter in Germany and governed over the Deportation Camp my mother was placed in.

For a while this was as far as Alan and I got with information. I fretted, having come so far. How was I going to find where he went? I desperately wanted to thank him for saving my Mom. I tried "Googling" his name but came up short with every spelling variation. Alan was helping but coming up short too. Information slowed down for both of us.

Finally, through Alan Yates's diligence, we found Queen Mary ship registries showing Ernst Finch left England for the USA in 1948. The ship registry showed Ernst's wife name. I decided to "Google" it, and the first thing that Google brought up was an obituary. Ilsa Finch died in 2007. I got Goosebumps all over my body. I felt I was this close to thanking this family.

The obituary listed the names of two nieces living in San Diego. I used LinkedIn and Facebook to send messages. Two days later, I got a response back from one of the nieces. Her mother was Ilsa's great-niece. She offered me her mother's phone number. Indeed, Ernst Finch was her Great Uncle. He had lived in San Diego till 1972, where he died. We spoke at length and I offered my condolences and thanked her for his great deeds.

To think; Ernst Finch, the Officer who saved my mothers life lived only an hour from me. Imagine, if Ernst Finch lived and I found him after 1989, which was when I moved out here? Mom used to come to California every year and stay for six weeks at a time. Imagine if Ernst Finch and Mom reunited? I wonder to this day if it would have been utterly wonderful, awkward or uneventful given the fact that Mom buried her secrets so deep within her.

My research led me to other places with the help of Alan Yates, but I will save them for another time.

*There are many stories like this still out there but they are dwindling as survivors from the Holocaust and WWII are passing away daily.  If you know of someone who has saved their story deep inside talk to them now, listen, write it down.  One of our greatest failings is that we don’t share and pass down our past and that the young people today are no longer interested.  History repeats itself if we do not share it and then learn from it.  Let us all make sure that this never happens again!!

I have stories from the other side of this coin.  My parents and their families were young Germans and Austrians swept up in the times, without many choices.  Es Goodman has offered to help me find some background information and photos that I don’t have.  Share just one more survivor’s, victim’s, or hero's story.  We will all be better for it!  Marion Groetzmeier Algier~

They were talking about Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, who is working  with both leaders to stop Iran getting hold of a nuclear weapon. Great story, right?

In a “faux pas” for the ages, President Barack Obama conducted what he assumed was a private conversation about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with French President Nicolas Sarkozy after the G20 summit on Thursday. The only problem, however, was that the microphones the two men were wearing from their earlier press conference, had not in fact been turned off. What ensued was a major public embarrassment after both Obama and the French PM disparaged Netanyahu, saying they  cannot “stand” dealing with him.

According to a Monday report in the French website “Arret sur Images,” Sarkozy told Obama, “I cannot stand him [Netanyahu]. He is a liar.” Rather than exercising diplomacy, however, Obama hopped on the bash-wagon, reportedly telling Sarkozy: “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!”

Ynet adds:

The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington’s strong objection to the move.

The communication faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which the conversation between the two heads of state – which quickly reverted to other matters – was all but open to members the press, who were still in possession of headsets provided by the Elysée for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference.

The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments.

According to Ynet, a member of the media confirmed Monday that “there were discussions between journalists and they agreed not to publish the comments due to the sensitivity of the issue.”

That explains why the world has not heard about the incident until now. Even more troubling, is the fact that journalists are meant to expose the truth, not hide it.

While it perhaps comes as no surprise that Obama harbors little affection for the Israeli PM, to have his true feelings revealed publicly in such a manner highlights the disingenuousness of any of his past complimentary sentiments for Netanyahu, and thus, is truly a cringe-worthy moment for the president.

This all comes to light at the same time as an IAEA report was leaked collaborating the fears that Iran is definitely collecting data needed to produce nuclear arms, not just for nuclear energy plants.  Full report will be released in the next few days.  It also comes to light as Israel considers preemptive strikes.

Columnist Judith Miller and political bundler Noele Nikpour among  others say this just verifies what they’ve been saying all along.  Obama is not a friend to Israel.  The big question is: Will this finally be enough for American Jews to wake-up?!?  There should be no Jewish votes for Obama left after this!

Netanyahu is a wise man who loves not only Israel but the United States.  Sarkowzy (France) and Obama are narcissistic elites who hate both Israel and the United States.  Wake-up!!

Pro-Israel Activists Take on SJP at Columbia University

Tensions flared between dozens of pro-Israel demonstrators and members of “Students for Justice in Palestine” on Sunday afternoon, October 16th outside of Columbia University on the third and final day of the 2011 National Students for Justice in Palestine “teach-in” organized by members to prepare for their upcoming Israel Apartheid Week events across college campuses throughout North America.

Holding aloft both Israeli and American flags and signs saying, “SJP Brings Stealth Jihad to Columbia University,” “Stop Hamas Terror Against Jews and Christians” and “Occupy Columbia With Truth and Justice – Not Lies and Anti-Israel Incitement,” the pro-Israel supporters represented such organizations as Americans For a Safe Israel (AFSI), the National Conference of Jewish Affairs (NCJA), Amcha – Coalition for Jewish Concerns and the Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam (HRCARI).

Rancorous debates and raucous arguments broke out between the two sides as the Zionist contingent engaged the SJP members as they exited the university on the corner of 116th Street and Broadway. “Our conference is about advocating for human rights in Palestine. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters are being subjected to the most severe degree of oppression on a daily basis by the Israeli colonialists and occupiers and we are here to put forth our message that a Jewish state is a fundamentally racist concept as are the apartheid practices of that state,” said Amina Fayyid, a SJP student organizer.

According to the SJP web site, one of the objectives of the conference is to “facilitate and support the advancement of existing campaigns and the development of new campaigns with particular (but not exclusive) emphasis on Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) of Israel.” Among the multifarious seminars and workshops taking place at the conference is one entitled, “Indigenous Struggles: situating Palestine as a settler-colonial project” which ostensibly explores “understanding Palestine within comparative settler colonial framework while seeking to re-align the Palestinian movement within a universal history of decolonization and imagining new possibilities for Palestinian resistance, solidarity and common struggle.”

Helen Freedman, executive director of Americans For A Safe Israel (AFSI), said, “Israel is the only stable democracy in the Middle East and these student activists know very well that Palestinians living in Israel have a much better lifestyle than they would in any other Arab country; yet their goal in organizing such a conference is to perpetuate the myths, incessant lies and blatant distortions that they use in their quest to demonize Israel. What we are witnessing here today is nothing short of the most egregious form of anti-Semitism cloaked in the clever subterfuge of anti-Zionism.”

Taking aim at Columbia University for allowing their campus to be used for the conference, Glenn Richter, former chairman of the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry movement and the current director of Amcha -CJC said, “This university has a long and shameful tradition of anti-Semitic policies, dating back over 70 years ago when brave students protested against the pro-Nazi policies of the institution’s heavy-handed president, Nicholas Murray Butler. Butler then had a leader of the protests expelled. Today we are here protesting against a different form of racist ideology, commonly known as Islamo-fascism.”

Calling the members of SJP, “Islamo-Fascists For An Arab Only Palestine,” the Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam issued a flyer declaring that the motivation for the conference was predicated on “bigotry, violence and genocide against the Jewish people.” Dr. Marvin Belsky, a retired New York City physician and spokesman for HRCARI said, “In Israel, Christians, Muslims and gays have full human rights, protection and dignity. Arabic and Hebrew are the official languages and Arabs who comprise over 1.2 million citizens serve in government, as well as assuming positions as judges, doctors, ambassadors and police and Israel remains a refuge for the world’s oppressed from Asia to Africa.”

Larry Domnitch, a prolific author, academic and historian, said he came “to express my support for Israel in the face of so much misinformation that is being disseminated on this campus and others as well. In a few weeks will be the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration which expressed the inherent and historical right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel. 94 years later that right is still being contested.”

Julian Rappaport, one of the demonstrators engaging with passers-by at the university’s gate, contended that the anti-Israel conference inside was not an expression of free speech, but “to give only one, incorrect side of the picture. Columbia has the responsibility to be more critical of what’s going on.” During a heated confrontation with an SJP member who called for “the complete obliteration of the racist Zionist entity,” Mr. Rappaport was arrested by police for allegedly kicking the student and was charged with disorderly conduct. He was released soon thereafter and returned to the demonstration.

Ladies and gentlemen, Israel has extended its hand in peace from the moment it was established 63 years ago. On behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, I extend that hand again today. I extend it to the people of Egypt and Jordan, with renewed friendship for neighbors with whom we have made peace. I extend it to the people of Turkey, with respect and good will. I extend it to the people of Libya and Tunisia, with admiration for those trying to build a democratic future. I extend it to the other peoples of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, with whom we want to forge a new beginning. I extend it to the people of Syria, Lebanon and Iran, with awe at the courage of those fighting brutal repression. 

But most especially, I extend my hand to the Palestinian people, with whom we seek a just and lasting peace. (Applause.)

Ladies and gentlemen, in Israel our hope for peace never wanes. Our scientists, doctors, innovators, apply their genius to improve the world of tomorrow. Our artists, our writers, enrich the heritage of humanity. Now, I know that this is not exactly the image of Israel that is often portrayed in this hall. After all, it was here in 1975 that the age-old yearning of my people to restore our national life in our ancient biblical homeland -- it was then that this was braided -- branded, rather -- shamefully, as racism. And it was here in 1980, right here, that the historic peace agreement between Israel and Egypt wasn't praised; it was denounced! And it's here year after year that Israel is unjustly singled out for condemnation. It's singled out for condemnation more often than all the nations of the world combined. Twenty-one out of the 27 General Assembly resolutions condemn Israel -- the one true democracy in the Middle East.

Well, this is an unfortunate part of the U.N. institution. It's the -- the theater of the absurd. It doesn't only cast Israel as the villain; it often casts real villains in leading roles: Gadhafi's Libya chaired the U.N. Commission on Human Rights; Saddam's Iraq headed the U.N. Committee on Disarmament.

You might say: That's the past. Well, here's what's happening now -- right now, today. Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the U.N. Security Council. This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world's security.

You couldn't make this thing up.

So here in the U.N., automatic majorities can decide anything. They can decide that the sun sets in the west or rises in the west. I think the first has already been pre-ordained. But they can also decide -- they have decided that the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Judaism's holiest place, is occupied Palestinian territory.

And yet even here in the General Assembly, the truth can sometimes break through. In 1984 when I was appointed Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, I visited the great rabbi of Lubavich. He said to me -- and ladies and gentlemen, I don't want any of you to be offended because from personal experience of serving here, I know there are many honorable men and women, many capable and decent people serving their nations here. But here's what the rebbe said to me. He said to me, you'll be serving in a house of many lies. And then he said, remember that even in the darkest place, the light of a single candle can be seen far and wide.

Today I hope that the light of truth will shine, if only for a few minutes, in a hall that for too long has been a place of darkness for my country. So as Israel's prime minister, I didn't come here to win applause. I came here to speak the truth. (Cheers, applause.) The truth is -- the truth is that Israel wants peace. The truth is that I want peace. The truth is that in the Middle East at all times, but especially during these turbulent days, peace must be anchored in security. The truth is that we cannot achieve peace through U.N. resolutions, but only through direct negotiations between the parties. The truth is that so far the Palestinians have refused to negotiate. The truth is that Israel wants peace with a Palestinian state, but the Palestinians want a state without peace. And the truth is you shouldn't let that happen.

Ladies and gentlemen, when I first came here 27 years ago, the world was divided between East and West. Since then the Cold War ended, great civilizations have risen from centuries of slumber, hundreds of millions have been lifted out of poverty, countless more are poised to follow, and the remarkable thing is that so far this monumental historic shift has largely occurred peacefully. Yet a malignancy is now growing between East and West that threatens the peace of all. It seeks not to liberate, but to enslave, not to build, but to destroy.

That malignancy is militant Islam. It cloaks itself in the mantle of a great faith, yet it murders Jews, Christians and Muslims alike with unforgiving impartiality. On September 11th it killed thousands of Americans, and it left the twin towers in smoldering ruins. Last night I laid a wreath on the 9/11 memorial. It was deeply moving. But as I was going there, one thing echoed in my mind: the outrageous words of the president of Iran on this podium yesterday. He implied that 9/11 was an American conspiracy. Some of you left this hall. All of you should have.(Applause.)

Since 9/11, militant Islamists slaughtered countless other innocents -- in London and Madrid, in Baghdad and Mumbai, in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, in every part of Israel. I believe that the greatest danger facing our world is that this fanaticism will arm itself with nuclear weapons. And this is precisely what Iran is trying to do.

Can you imagine that man who ranted here yesterday -- can you imagine him armed with nuclear weapons? The international community must stop Iran before it's too late. If Iran is not stopped, we will all face the specter of nuclear terrorism, and the Arab Spring could soon become an Iranian winter. That would be a tragedy. Millions of Arabs have taken to the streets to replace tyranny with liberty, and no one would benefit more than Israel if those committed to freedom and peace would prevail.

This is my fervent hope. But as the prime minister of Israel, I cannot risk the future of the Jewish state on wishful thinking. Leaders must see reality as it is, not as it ought to be. We must do our best to shape the future, but we cannot wish away the dangers of the present.

And the world around Israel is definitely becoming more dangerous. Militant Islam has already taken over Lebanon and Gaza. It's determined to tear apart the peace treaties between Israel and Egypt and between Israel and Jordan. It's poisoned many Arab minds against Jews and Israel, against America and the West. It opposes not the policies of Israel but the existence of Israel.

Now, some argue that the spread of militant Islam, especially in these turbulent times -- if you want to slow it down, they argue, Israel must hurry to make concessions, to make territorial compromises. And this theory sounds simple. Basically it goes like this: Leave the territory, and peace will be advanced. The moderates will be strengthened, the radicals will be kept at bay. And don't worry about the pesky details of how Israel will actually defend itself; international troops will do the job.

These people say to me constantly: Just make a sweeping offer, and everything will work out. You know, there's only one problem with that theory. We've tried it and it hasn't worked. In 2000 Israel made a sweeping peace offer that met virtually all of the Palestinian demands. Arafat rejected it. The Palestinians then launched a terror attack that claimed a thousand Israeli lives.

Prime Minister Olmert afterwards made an even more sweeping offer, in 2008. President Abbas didn't even respond to it.

But Israel did more than just make sweeping offers. We actually left territory. We withdrew from Lebanon in 2000 and from every square inch of Gaza in 2005. That didn't calm the Islamic storm, the militant Islamic storm that threatens us. It only brought the storm closer and make it stronger.

Hezbollah and Hamas fired thousands of rockets against our cities from the very territories we vacated. See, when Israel left Lebanon and Gaza, the moderates didn't defeat the radicals, the moderates were devoured by the radicals. And I regret to say that international troops like UNIFIL in Lebanon and UBAM (ph) in Gaza didn't stop the radicals from attacking Israel.

We left Gaza hoping for peace.

We didn't freeze the settlements in Gaza, we uprooted them. We did exactly what the theory says: Get out, go back to the 1967 borders, dismantle the settlements.

And I don't think people remember how far we went to achieve this. We uprooted thousands of people from their homes. We pulled children out of -- out of their schools and their kindergartens. We bulldozed synagogues. We even -- we even moved loved ones from their graves. And then, having done all that, we gave the keys of Gaza to President Abbas.

Now the theory says it should all work out, and President Abbas and the Palestinian Authority now could build a peaceful state in Gaza. You can remember that the entire world applauded. They applauded our withdrawal as an act of great statesmanship. It was a bold act of peace.

But ladies and gentlemen, we didn't get peace. We got war. We got Iran, which through its proxy Hamas promptly kicked out the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority collapsed in a day -- in one day.

President Abbas just said on this podium that the Palestinians are armed only with their hopes and dreams. Yeah, hopes, dreams and 10,000 missiles and Grad rockets supplied by Iran, not to mention the river of lethal weapons now flowing into Gaza from the Sinai, from Libya, and from elsewhere.

Thousands of missiles have already rained down on our cities. So you might understand that, given all this,Israelis rightly ask: What's to prevent this from happening again in the West Bank? See, most of our major cities in the south of the country are within a few dozen kilometers from Gaza. But in the center of the country, opposite the West Bank, our cities are a few hundred meters or at most a few kilometers away from the edge of the West Bank.

So I want to ask you. Would any of you -- would any of you bring danger so close to your cities, to your families? Would you act so recklessly with the lives of your citizens? Israel is prepared to have a Palestinian state in the West Bank, but we're not prepared to have another Gaza there. And that's why we need to have real security arrangements, which the Palestinians simply refuse to negotiate with us.

Israelis remember the bitter lessons of Gaza. Many of Israel's critics ignore them. They irresponsibly advise Israel to go down this same perilous path again. Your read what these people say and it's as if nothing happened -- just repeating the same advice, the same formulas as though none of this happened.

And these critics continue to press Israel to make far-reaching concessions without first assuring Israel's security. They praise those who unwittingly feed the insatiable crocodile of militant Islam as bold statesmen. They cast as enemies of peace those of us who insist that we must first erect a sturdy barrier to keep the crocodile out, or at the very least jam an iron bar between its gaping jaws.

So in the face of the labels and the libels, Israel must heed better advice. Better a bad press than a good eulogy, and better still would be a fair press whose sense of history extends beyond breakfast, and which recognizes Israel's legitimate security concerns.

I believe that in serious peace negotiations, these needs and concerns can be properly addressed, but they will not be addressed without negotiations. And the needs are many, because Israel is such a tiny country. Without Judea and Samaria, the West Bank, Israel is all of 9 miles wide.

I want to put it for you in perspective, because you're all in the city. That's about two-thirds the length of Manhattan. It's the distance between Battery Park and Columbia University. And don't forget that the people who live in Brooklyn and New Jersey are considerably nicer than some of Israel's neighbors.

So how do you -- how do you protect such a tiny country, surrounded by people sworn to its destruction and armed to the teeth by Iran? Obviously you can't defend it from within that narrow space alone. Israel needs greater strategic depth, and that's exactly why Security Council Resolution 242 didn't require Israel to leave all the territories it captured in the Six-Day War. It talked about withdrawal from territories, to secure and defensible boundaries. And to defend itself, Israel must therefore maintain a long-term Israeli military presence in critical strategic areas in the West Bank.

I explained this to President Abbas. He answered that if a Palestinian state was to be a sovereign country, it could never accept such arrangements. Why not? America has had troops in Japan, Germany and South Korea for more than a half a century. Britain has had an airspace in Cyprus or rather an air base in Cyprus. France has forces in three independent African nations. None of these states claim that they're not sovereign countries.

And there are many other vital security issues that also must be addressed. Take the issue of airspace. Again, Israel's small dimensions create huge security problems. America can be crossed by jet airplane in six hours. To fly across Israel, it takes three minutes. So is Israel's tiny airspace to be chopped in half and given to a Palestinian state not at peace with Israel?

Our major international airport is a few kilometers away from the West Bank. Without peace, will our planes become targets for antiaircraft missiles placed in the adjacent Palestinian state? And how will we stop the smuggling into the West Bank? It's not merely the West Bank, it's the West Bank mountains. It just dominates the coastal plain where most of Israel's population sits below. How could we prevent the smuggling into these mountains of those missiles that could be fired on our cities?

I bring up these problems because they're not theoretical problems. They're very real. And for Israelis, they're life-and- death matters. All these potential cracks in Israel's security have to be sealed in a peace agreement before a Palestinian state is declared, not afterwards, because if you leave it afterwards, they won't be sealed. And these problems will explode in our face and explode the peace.

The Palestinians should first make peace with Israel and then get their state. But I also want to tell you this. After such a peace agreement is signed, Israel will not be the last country to welcome a Palestinian state as a new member of the United Nations. We will be the first. (Applause.)

And there's one more thing. Hamas has been violating international law by holding our soldier Gilad Shalit captive for five years.

They haven't given even one Red Cross visit. He's held in a dungeon, in darkness, against all international norms. Gilad Shalit is the son of Aviva and Noam Shalit. He is the grandson of Zvi Shalit, who escaped the Holocaust by coming to the -- in the 1930s as a boy to the land of Israel. Gilad Shalit is the son of every Israeli family. Every nation represented here should demand his immediate release. (Applause.) If you want to -- if you want to pass a resolution about the Middle East today, that's the resolution you should pass. (Applause.)

Ladies and gentlemen, last year in Israel in Bar-Ilan University, this year in the Knesset and in the U.S. Congress, I laid out my vision for peace in which a demilitarized Palestinian state recognizes the Jewish state. Yes, the Jewish state. After all, this is the body that recognized the Jewish state 64 years ago. Now, don't you think it's about time that Palestinians did the same?

The Jewish state of Israel will always protect the rights of all its minorities, including the more than 1 million Arab citizens of Israel. I wish I could say the same thing about a future Palestinian state, for as Palestinian officials made clear the other day -- in fact, I think they made it right here in New York -- they said the Palestinian state won't allow any Jews in it. They'll be Jew-free -- Judenrein. That's ethnic cleansing. There are laws today in Ramallah that make the selling of land to Jews punishable by death. That's racism. And you know which laws this evokes.

Israel has no intention whatsoever to change the democratic character of our state. We just don't want the Palestinians to try to change the Jewish character of our state. (Applause.) We want to give up -- we want them to give up the fantasy of flooding Israel with millions of Palestinians.

President Abbas just stood here, and he said that the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the settlements. Well, that's odd. Our conflict has been raging for -- was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank. So if what President Abbas is saying was true, then the -- I guess that the settlements he's talking about are Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa, Be'er Sheva. Maybe that's what he meant the other day when he said that Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for 63 years. He didn't say from 1967; he said from 1948. I hope somebody will bother to ask him this question because it illustrates a simple truth: The core of the conflict is not the settlements. The settlements are a result of the conflict. (Applause.)

The settlements have to be -- it's an issue that has to be addressed and resolved in the course of negotiations. But the core of the conflict has always been and unfortunately remains the refusal of the Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state in any border.

I think it's time that the Palestinian leadership recognizes what every serious international leader has recognized, from Lord Balfour and Lloyd George in 1917, to President Truman in 1948, to President Obama just two days ago right here: Israel is the Jewish state. (Applause.)

President Abbas, stop walking around this issue. Recognize the Jewish state, and make peace with us. In such a genuine peace, Israel is prepared to make painful compromises. We believe that the Palestinians should be neither the citizens of Israel nor its subjects. They should live in a free state of their own. But they should be ready, like us, for compromise. And we will know that they're ready for compromise and for peace when they start taking Israel's security requirements seriously and when they stop denying our historical connection to our ancient homeland.

I often hear them accuse Israel of Judaizing Jerusalem. That's like accusing America of Americanizing Washington, or the British of Anglicizing London. You know why we're called "Jews"? Because we come from Judea.

In my office in Jerusalem, there's a -- there's an ancient seal. It's a signet ring of a Jewish official from the time of the Bible. The seal was found right next to the Western Wall, and it dates back 2,700 years, to the time of King Hezekiah. Now, there's a name of the Jewish official inscribed on the ring in Hebrew. His name was Netanyahu. That's my last name. My first name, Benjamin, dates back a thousand years earlier to Benjamin -- Binyamin -- the son of Jacob, who was also known as Israel. Jacob and his 12 sons roamed these same hills of Judea and Sumeria 4,000 years ago, and there's been a continuous Jewish presence in the land ever since.

And for those Jews who were exiled from our land, they never stopped dreaming of coming back: Jews in Spain, on the eve of their expulsion; Jews in the Ukraine, fleeing the pogroms; Jews fighting the Warsaw Ghetto, as the Nazis were circling around it. They never stopped praying, they never stopped yearning. They whispered: Next year in Jerusalem. Next year in the promised land. (Applause.)

As the prime minister of Israel, I speak for a hundred generations of Jews who were dispersed throughout the lands, who suffered every evil under the Sun, but who never gave up hope of restoring their national life in the one and only Jewish state.

Ladies and gentlemen, I continue to hope that President Abbas will be my partner in peace. I've worked hard to advance that peace. The day I came into office, I called for direct negotiations without preconditions. President Abbas didn't respond. I outlined a vision of peace of two states for two peoples. He still didn't respond. I removed hundreds of roadblocks and checkpoints, to ease freedom of movement in the Palestinian areas; this facilitated a fantastic growth in the Palestinian economy. But again -- no response. I took the unprecedented step of freezing new buildings in the settlements for 10 months. No prime minister did that before, ever.(Scattered applause.) Once again -- you applaud, but there was no response. No response.

In the last few weeks, American officials have put forward ideas to restart peace talks. There were things in those ideas about borders that I didn't like. There were things there about the Jewish state that I'm sure the Palestinians didn't like.

But with all my reservations, I was willing to move forward on these American ideas.

President Abbas, why don't you join me? We have to stop negotiating about the negotiations. Let's just get on with it. Let's negotiate peace. (Applause.)

I spent years defending Israel on the battlefield. I spent decades defending Israel in the court of public opinion. President Abbas, you've dedicated your life to advancing the Palestinian cause. Must this conflict continue for generations, or will we enable our children and our grandchildren to speak in years ahead of how we found a way to end it? That's what we should aim for, and that's what I believe we can achieve.

In two and a half years, we met in Jerusalem only once, even though my door has always been open to you. If you wish, I'll come to Ramallah. Actually, I have a better suggestion. We've both just flown thousands of miles to New York. Now we're in the same city. We're in the same building. So let's meet here today in the United Nations. (Applause.) Who's there to stop us? What is there to stop us? If we genuinely want peace, what is there to stop us from meeting today and beginning peace negotiations?

And I suggest we talk openly and honestly. Let's listen to one another. Let's do as we say in the Middle East: Let's talk "doogli" (ph). That means straightforward. I'll tell you my needs and concerns. You'll tell me yours. And with God's help, we'll find the common ground of peace. (Applause.)

There's an old Arab saying that you cannot applaud with one hand. Well, the same is true of peace. I cannot make peace alone. I cannot make peace without you. President Abbas, I extend my hand -- the hand of Israel -- in peace. I hope that you will grasp that hand. We are both the sons of Abraham. My people call him Avraham. Your people call him Ibrahim. We share the same patriarch. We dwell in the same land. Our destinies are intertwined. Let us realize the vision of Isaiah -- (speaks in Hebrew) -- "The people who walk in darkness will see a great light." Let that light be the light of peace. (Applause.) 

Step up America… Time to stand tough by our ally Israel and to defund the United Nations!!

Before noon on Wednesday, September 21st, scores of stalwart Christian supporters of Israel along with sizeable contingents of Jews, poured into Dag Hammarskjold Plaza near the United Nations to express their indignation over the unilateral Palestinian bid for statehood expected to take place on Friday as part of the annual UN general assembly meeting. Sponsors of the rally said that a coalition of close to 50 Christian and Jewish organizations along with the Israeli government had taken part in mobilizing over 5,000 people to attend under the banner of the “Eagles Wings Coalition Council,” named for the Buffalo, New York based organization of the same name, headed by Robert Stearns. Many rally participants had traveled from across the United States and Canada to attend.

Just as President Barack Obama had concluded his address to the General Assembly, where he exhorted the Palestinians to abandon their quest for a unilateral declaration of statehood at the United Nations, speaker after speaker underscored the irrefragable anti-Semitism and blatant anti-Israel predilections that have come to define the mantra of the UN. According to UN Watch in Geneva, over the last five years, the UN Human Rights Council has adopted 70 resolutions condemning specific nations and 40 of those have been levied against Israel. Likewise, the General Assembly has adopted approximately 20 anti-Israel resolutions each year, compared to only half a dozen targeting other countries.

The demonstrators also roundly condemned the Durban III conference that is scheduled to take place tomorrow and marks the 10th anniversary of the first Durban Conference in South Africa. The ostensible agenda of the UN sponsored conference was to have addressed issues of global racism, sexism and xenophobia, but rapidly morphed into a series of forums in which anti-Israel non-governmental organizations used their time to propagandize against the Jewish state.

“The original Durban conference equated Zionism with racism,” said Robert Stearns, director of Eagle’s Wings. “Thankfully, the United States government and many others have not participated in the Durban conference and yet it continues. A Durban event in Geneva went so far as to invite the president of Iran as the keynote speaker. When he’s your keynote speaker at a human rights rally, you should know there’s a problem,” he added. In addition to the U.S. and Israel, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom are boycotting Durban III.

Saying that everyone attending the rally serves as “watchmen on the wall of Israel,” he pointed to the religious rights granted to minorities in Israel as well as rights for women and said that Israel is “the only democracy in the Middle East.”

“I believe that all of us who worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob found in the Bible, see the modern state of Israel as an expression of God’s fidelity to his friend Abraham,” he said, “so we are concerned and pay attention to what’s happening in Israel.”

As organizational and community leaders gathered on the stage, the rally attendees held aloft signs saying, “Stop the UN Double Standards,” “Israel: We Stand With You,” “Jews Want Peace: Arabs Want Pieces” and “Denounce Durban III,” while a sea of blue and white Israeli flags were also raised.

“The whole land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people,” said Helen Freedman, the executive director of Americans For a Safe Israel (AFSI). “The unilateral declaration of independence is very, very dangerous, because what it does is signal to the Arabs that they now have a state. There’s no legitimacy to their claim for a state, but the population will get the message that they do have entitlement and the whole situation will really spiral out of control,” she declared.

Roz Rothstein, national director of of the pro-Israel student advocacy organization “StandWithUs” said, “Today we are all Israelis.” Pointing to the UN, she quipped, “In that building over there, they are fools. They have turned right and wrong upside down. They have turned evil and good upside down.”

“Do not compromise in the name of peace. Do not even talk about peace when the other does not want it,” intoned Simon Deng, a refugee from the Sudan and a former slave. Calling himself “a friend of the State of Israel,” he drew wild applause from the crowd when he called for “an undivided Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.” Spotlighting the horrific hypocrisy of the world body, Deng said, “The UN is turning a blind eye to racism in the Islamic world while condemning democratic Israel.”

Focusing on the escalating genocidal agenda emanating from Teheran, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Danny Danon said, “Inside the UN today you can see hatred against the Jewish people. President Obama, you have to wake up and you have to show leadership and you have to deal with the threat that is coming from Iran.”

Other speakers included Herb London of the Hudson Institute, Dr. Marvin Belsky of the Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam (HRCARI), Richard Allen of JCC Watch, Bishop Carlton T. Brown, from Harlem who spoke on behalf of 15 uptown churches and Rabbi Yaakov Y. Kermaier, the spiritual leader of Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue Synagogue and President of the New York Board of Rabbis.

On September 22, 2011 there will be a resolution introduced in the United Nations to recognize Palestine as a nation, with all the rights and privileges thereof. Tom Trento, President of The United West said, "This will be a day where the world chooses."

Will September 22, 2011 be a date which will live in infamy?

I use these words because they hearken back to another date and a similar situation leading up to WWII. President Roosevelt purposefully framed his speech before a joint session of Congress on December 8, 1941 centered on the perceived low moral character of the Japanese government. He drew a sharp contrast between the "righteous might" of the American people and the aggressive and deceitful nature of the Japanese regime.

May I humbly suggest the same applies today. The Palestinian Authority (and HAMAS) are of low moral character and the American people remain steadfast as a righteous might in the world.

Turki Al Faisal, former Saudi Ambassador to the United states, wrote an op-ed column in the New York Times titled, "Veto a State, Lose an Ally". The op-ed was published on September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, by shariah Islamic saboteurs, fifteen of them Saudi citizens.

Al Faisal states, "The United States must support the Palestinian bid for statehood at the United Nations this month or risk losing the little credibility it has in the Arab world. Al Faisal wants the U.S. to abandon Israel and in return gain credibility in the Arab world. This is a highly questionable result and infamous trade off. The shariah Islamist world refuses to recognize America or Israel's right to exist. Palestinians have had many opportunities to gain peace and security, history tells us they have rejected each and everyone.

This effort for Palestinian statehood reminds me of the "Sudeten Crisis" of 1938. In March 1938, Hitler made Nazi Germany the advocate of ethnic Germans living in Czechoslovakia, triggering the "Sudeten Crisis". The following month, Sudeten Nazis, led by Konrad Henlein, agitated for autonomy. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain met with Adolf Hitler in Berchtesgaden on 15 September and agreed to the cession of the Sudetenland. Three days later, French Prime Minister Édouard Daladier did the same. No Czechoslovak representative was invited to these discussions.

This led to Chamberlain meeting again with Hitler on September 29, 1938. Hitler and Chamberlain signed a three paragraph declaration. Chamberlain landed at Heston Aerodrome on 30 September 1938, and spoke to the crowds there saying:

"The settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine. Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you: ' ... We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again.'" [My emphasis]

Later on that same day Chamberlain declared, ". . . I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And now I recommend you to go home and sleep quietly in your beds."

Fast forward to today with Al Faisal saying, "American support for Palestinian statehood is therefore crucial, and a veto will have profound negative consequences. In addition to causing substantial damage to American-Saudi relations and provoking uproar among Muslims worldwide, the United States would further undermine its relations with the Muslim world, empower Iran and threaten regional stability. Let us hope that the United States chooses the path of justice and peace."

Is Palestine the new Sudetenland? Will we have justice and peace in our time?

History says otherwise. We will not sleep peacefully in our beds for long if the UN unilaterally imposes a new state in the Middle East. It is only a matter of time for the inevitable to occur - war in the Middle East.

Israeli Reservists Called Up, Instructions Unclear

IDF calls up reservist soldiers in preparation for mayhem after PA UN move. "Open fire only if your life is danger," they are told

The IDF has called up a relatively large number of reservists over the week's end, for an open-ended period of duty, in anticipation of possible large scale violence after the expected rejection of a Palestinian Authority bid for United Nations recognition as a state. Arutz Sheva has learned that the reservists have been instructed to maintain "restraint and alertness" but have not been given specific instructions regarding scenarios that could unfold.

For example, reservists reported asking what to do if an Arab woman carrying a baby tries to break into a community. "Do we open fire?" They were told: "Open fire only if your life is in danger."

Forces in Judea and Samaria have been reinforced with three battalions and the IDF is preparing for calling up additional reservist battalions. Both the IDF and the Palestinian Authority police-militia have been supplied with large quantities of riot-dispersal equipment.

In the communities themselves, rapid response teams intend to show "zero tolerance" to attempts by frenzied mobs to damage the security perimeter and break into the communities, Arutz Sheva has learned.

BECK LAUNCHES WEEK OF ‘RESTORING COURAGE’ EVENTS FROM ISRAEL

As the sun eased it’s way into the Mediterranean horizon Sunday evening, Glenn Beck greeted an enthusiastic crowd of over 3,000 at the Caesarea Amphitheater: “Welcome to the land of milk and honey!”

Beck’s week of “Restoring Courage” events is beginning with a religiously themed evening entitled “The Courage to Love.”

Early in the program Beck was joined on the stage by historian David Barton.  Grammy-nominated vocalist Vernessa Mitchell was accompanied by an ensemble of Israeli singers and musicians.  In the first half of the program the audience heard passionate remarks by author Mike Evans and Florida pastor Tom Mullins.

Mullins challenged the capacity crowd:

“It’s time for the people of faith to stand with a courage that flows from God’s deep love and defend Israel!

We are gathered in the very spot, where, centuries ago, the faith of the Apostle Paul was put on trial.  Paul resolutely refused to compromise the truth of his faith. He stood with great courage and embraced his destiny; and his life had profound, eternal impact on the world.”

Rabbi Shlomo Riskin defined “courage” in contrast with its “fraternal twin” strength:

“Strength  is physical prowess: Courage is spiritual sensitivity.

Strength is rooted in selfish self aggrandizement, hell-bent on taking over and dominating “other” on destroying one’s enemy.

Courage is rooted in self sacrifice, Heaven-sent to give to and share with “other” to turn one‘s hated enemy into one’s beloved friend.

Strength revels in power.

Courage reaches out in love.”

Indeed, Courage begets and demands love; the very Hebrew word for love Ahava, derives from the root verb HAV which means to give.

Pastor John Hagee spoke just before Beck’s concluding remarks:

“We have come tonight to say to the people of Israel, you are still the apple of God’s eye, you are still the chosen people, you are still the covenant people, you are still cherished the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

Beck began his final talk by asking the audience to “Honor these people who have honored God for so long.”

While noting that many in the crowd had come at “great expense,“ he praised those who had come at ”great risk” to their personal safety.

FIRST THEY CAME...  (Let us not forget)

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

Then they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
I did not protest;
I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
I did not protest;
I was a Protestant.

Then they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.

What will it take for us to wake up and see that we, the world, are going down the same ugly path that we did only 70-years ago?  There are still people alive who lived through the Holocaust and we are about to let it all happen again.  How can that be??

Where we stand as a nation, as Christians and American Jews and as individuals will matter!!

It really is unbelievable how ‘right on’ Beck was over the past 5-years, including about Israel about what was coming, and there is no reason to think that he won’t continue to be right.  What amazes me most, because I have a lot of Jewish friends and acquaintances, is that they generally don’t get it and that they still support Obama and somehow dislike Glenn Beck who speaks up for them more than anyone I know.  I grew up in the LA area, so like NYC and Miami, there was/is a high population of Jews and I’ve talked and debated with some of them many times. How could you not see this with Hitler’s Germany still in recent memory?

Of course, not all!!  During the ObamaCare cram through, I was leafleting and giving talks about the nightmares in the bill  at community centers and anywhere someone would listen.  At the end of one session, an elderly Jewish woman came up to me and showed me the numbers tattooed on her arm.  With tears in her eyes, she said to me, “Please don’t stop what you are doing because it is happening again and people are again not seeing it!”.  I think of her a lot.  It both haunts me and motivates me!

You don’t have to be a Jew, as Glenn so eloquently points out to stand with Israel, to understand what is at stake, or to have been (or be in the future) affected by the mentality that created Nazi Germany.  And do not believe for a moment that the Reich and the ideas behind it were unique to Hitler, to Germany, or to that era.  The supporters include(d) Fabians, American Progressives, Marxists, elites from all over and Muslims to name just a few.  Wow sounds like a lot of the same players we have in the NWO movement and the people running America into the ground right now!

I am a first generation Austro-German American.  My parents met in an American prisoner of war camp where they married.  They had been part of a medical unit.  My mom was in the Red Cross and my dad was in charge of medics, both on the German side. (It was the most humane part of the service they could find; not enlisting wasn’t an option!)   The Americans made my mom a wedding dress out of gauze bandages.  Wish I had a photo.  My mom’s family, in Germany, was part of the underground. She told a horrific stories of people disappearing and brutal treatment of dissenters, but the one that always sticks out in my mind is the  story of her uncle being caught by the Nazi’s and beaten within an inch of death and then thrown at her grandmother’s front door.  She said as he healed chunks of flesh just rotted off his body and he was mentally never the same. 

I was blessed by growing up in a family where we would have get-to-gethers and people would exchange stories from their experiences growing up overseas, from WWI in Germany, WWII in Germany… Austria… and the US and from the Korean War for the U.S. Then later my first husband was corpsman for the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.  It gave me a really rich varied perspective of history.  M~

Please pray for Glenn, his family and friends… and for Israel and get involved.  And remember the words of someone who has lived through it: “Please don’t stop what you are doing because it is happening again and people are again not seeing it!”  And if you are a Christian… time to break out the ole Bible!  We will each be held accountable as individuals, don’t buy into the Progressive Collective Salvation ruse.

U.S. Embassy Releases Video Taking Tough Immigration Stance… On Jews!

Illegal immigration is a hot topic in this country. And even though there are many in the Obama administration who refuse to recognize the need for a tough stance on it, there are those who see a need to address it. Officials at one U.S. embassy abroad seem to be catching on and joining the latter crowd.

NRO’s Mark Krikorian explains:

One of our embassies has released a well-produced video warning the locals not to try to work illegally in the United States. It includes testimonials from people who got burned by unscrupulous employers and by their own greed and stupidity. It also features an agent from the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security warning, in a friendly but unequivocal way, of the dire consequences facing those who try to game immigration and visa laws, including a lifetime bar from visiting the U.S.

That’s right, the administration is finally cracking down and warning violators of the consequences (while also trying to protect them). Where’s this embassy, you wonder. Get ready for it: Israel.

Yes, the U.S. embassy in Israel released a video just three weeks ago warning Jewish residents to mind their immigration manners before they try anything shady regarding work and business visas:

Krikorian asks some important questions in his response to the video:

Now, don’t get me wrong — the consular staff who made this video deserve an award for their imagination and zeal in defending our country’s interests. All those violating our immigration laws must be punished. But why isn’t this kind of campaign being mounted systematically at all consulates where the locals may consider coming here illegally?(Though it also would be nice to actually, you know, enforce the law, so our warnings aren’t dismissed.) Do you think the nonimmigrant visa section in Juarez would be allowed to produce something this threatening to warn against abuse of Border Crossing Card visas? Of course not — but since Israelis are white and have Zionist cooties, the Obama administration’s appointees apparently decided to permit our consular professionals to actually do their jobs in this instance.

As long as Krikorian brought it up, let’s look at how the U.S. embassy in Mexico is dealing with illegal immigration.

How about a press release from Monday detailing the United States’ annual (and voluntary) deportation program aimed at protecting illegal immigrants from the heat:

MEXICO CITY, July 11, 2011— As part of their ongoing commitment to safeguarding the health, dignity, and well-being of undocumented migrants during the repatriation process, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Government of Mexico today reinitiated the seasonal Mexican Interior Repatriation Program (MIRP).  The first flight departed Tucson, AZ this morning en route to Mexico City, with undocumented returnees on board. Once in Mexico City, the passengers are met by representatives of Mexico’s National Institute of Migration (INM), who will assist them in returning to their homes in the interior of Mexico.  Participation in interior repatriation is voluntary, and is intended to protect Mexican nationals from high temperatures and dangerous conditions near the border during the height of the summer season.

The program is costly, says U.S. embassy representative John Feeley, but that shouldn’t matter: “[W]e are committed to providing these undocumented migrants with a safe and humane return to Mexico, even at significant cost to the U.S. taxpayer.  The simple fact is, this humanitarian program saves Mexican lives.”

Looking for tough immigration talk? You likely won’t find it on the front page of the website for the American embassy in Mexico. It’s riddled with posts about kids taking English classes, a border-crossing partnership, and even a congratulations-to-Mexico story.

A video on its YouTube channel even shows young Mexicans dressing up as founding fathers:

Isn’t that nice.

So one could probably expect a lot of cooperative language to permeate the front page of the American embassy page located in Tel Aviv, right? Yes. And there is such language. But there’s also this curious post located just four stories down under “embassy news:”

Click on that and it leads you to a link to a story detailing the “2010 Human Rights Report: Israel and the occupied territories.” What does that report find?

Principal human rights problems were institutional, legal, and societal discrimination against Arab citizens, Palestinian residents of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (see annex), non-Orthodox Jews, and other religious groups; societal discrimination against persons with disabilities; and societal discrimination and domestic violence against women, particularly in Bedouin society. While trafficking in persons for the purpose of prostitution decreased in recent years, trafficking for the purpose of labor remained a serious problem, as did abuse of foreign workers and societal discrimination and incitement against asylum seekers.

Ouch.

For years, the Obama administration has refused to recognize illegal immigration from Mexico as a problem (even despite evidence that jihadists are using America’s porous southern border). Now it’s talking tough on Jewish immigrants. Makes you wonder who the administration thinks is the real problem.

What is wrong with us America??

America… If we do not wake immediately, get rid of those presently in power, take back our country, fall on our knees and ask God for forgiveness and stand up for what is right against the evil that is spreading not only throughout the U.S. but Western Civilization there are only two options:

1.  We will be remembered as the stupidest people and generation that ever lived and our kids and grandkids will suffer for our ignorance, self-indulgence and overall stupidity… and only remember us with disdain.

Or

2.  We will have proved to God that it is time of end this and we will live through the end times as a people out of God’s grace and be held accountable for not only what we did… but what we didn’t do.

Where are the people and the churches speaking our for Israel, our friends, democracy, Christianity, the Jews, freedom, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, freedom, our Republic, Western Civilization??  Where are you??
