Artist Shepard Fairey, left, stands with Yosi Sergant at the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art in February 2009.
“Barack Obama is a figurehead of a movement, I would call it the progressive movement. My ‘Goal’ is to get Obama elected. I use mechanisms I know, which are basically artistic. Look how important the grass roots are. Look at the effect they can have. I drank the Kool-Aid. I am alive with it, I believe an Obama saying ; ‘We are the change we have been waiting for’” …Yosi Sergent, LA Weekly Article, September 2008
Statement from the NEA:
“Following is a statement from the National Endowment for the Arts. Please let me know if you have further questions.
“This afternoon Yosi Sergant submitted his resignation from the National Endowment for the Arts. His resignation has been accepted and is effective immediately.”

More: RESPONSE TO NEA CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT: Throwing Yosi Sergant Under the Bus Isn’t an Answer
Let nobody assume that Yosi Sergant’s resignation really makes any difference. He will be replaced by another radical and will continue to work for the White House in a less direct way, like self avowed Communist Van Jones did and is…
The problem lies in the radical philosophy of both President Barack Hussein Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and their dear friend and Obama’s right hand gal, Valerie Jarrett, who was part of the NEA plan.
Yes it is a good thing that Yosi Sergant and Van Jones are gone… but it will be a daily fight for all concerned Americans until there is an administration change…
Yosi Sergant and Van Jones were definitely Kool Aid drinkers…
Yosi Sergant Gets Hypovehiculated
Late yesterday we received an email from our pal Victoria Hutter, of the National Endowment for the Arts' Office of Communication: "This afternoon Yosi Sergant submitted his resignation from the National Endowment for the Arts. His resignation has been accepted and is effective immediately."
In case you haven't been following this story, let's bring you up to date: In August, as we detailed Monday, Sergant organized a conference call for federally subsidized artists in which he and other administration officials--including Buffy Wicks of the White House Office of Public Engagement--urged them to produce propaganda for the president's legislative initiatives. Two weeks ago, after the call was exposed by whistleblower Patrick Courrielche, Sergant was "reassigned." (Full WSJ Article)

Your President Is A Robot…
Perhaps this is not part of the Art for Propaganda Yosi was pushing… but in a time where there are very few smiles and jokes being made… I’m sharing a laugh.
Barack Obama's amazingly consistent smile from Eric Spiegelman on Vimeo.
Ladies and gentlemen, your President is a robot. Or a wax sculpture. Maybe a cardboard cutout. All I know is no human being has a photo smile this amazingly consistent.
On Wednesday, the Obamas hosted a reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, during which they stood for 130 photographs with visiting foreign dignitaries in town for the UN meeting. The President has exactly the same smile in every single shot. See for yourself — the pictures are up on the State Department’s flickr. And, of course, compressed above into 20 seconds for your viewing pleasure.
