The actual numbers are still out on today’s March on D.C., but ABC News (who like the other two network news outlets usually doesn’t even acknowledge tea party activities) estimates 1.5 million people attended the rally in Washington. The D.C. official estimate was given as 60,000+ (and we know it was the Washington Dem’s and White House goal to ignore the event and report low numbers to mark it a failure (full story) and Senator Jim DeMint (author of Saving Freedom) and Rep Mike Pence who attended the Washington rally were interviewed early in the day conservatively estimated the crowd (along with Fox News) at 250,000 + at that point. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn also attended the event. Jim DeMint, Mike Pense and Marsha Blackburn were among the speakers at the event.
The Tea Party Express completely blocked Pennsylvania Ave. from 14th Street, NW, to the U.S. Capitol. The large crowds have caused organizers for the event to start the speeches and march earlier than the scheduled 11:30 a.m. time.
Simultaneously there were and are presently still rallies being held all over America today: Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, California etc etc which follows weeks of rallies along a 7000 mile route travelled by Tea Party Express from Sacramento California to Washington D.C. today.
When Robert Gibbs was asked why the White House had no representation or comments on this event in Washington D.C. he responded with, “I don’t even know who these people are.” Don’t know who these people are?? They are millions or Americans all over the United States and the event has been announced for months (no doubt permits had to be acquired).
Obama even skipped town for another staged healthcare event in Minnesota.
You know something is happening when the powers that be try this hard to ignore you!!!
Crowd singing Na Na Hey Hey Say Good Bye
The date and concept were conceived by Fox News personality Glenn Beck, who six months ago organized a 9/12er event — The 9-12 Project, a post-9/11-type event to uplift the spirit that Americans felt in the hours and days after 9/11/2001, when Islamic terrorists attacked New York City and the Pentagon. Glenn, was asked to MC and Host the event, but decided he could do a better job for America and the movement by covering it from the Fox Studios in New York, which he did from 1PM to 3PM ET.
Other notables attending outlying tea parties included Judge Andrew Napolitano and Andrew Breitbart.
Detractors of the event paint the movement as anti-Obama and anti-Democrat. Glenn Beck emphasizes that the protest is against the corruption that is coming from both political parties — and loss of liberties in America. If you talk to the people in the crowd, that seems to be the case; average Americans who don't like the direction our Country has gone and is going in.

Anti-Tax Tea Party… Or Is It More?
Glenn threw out the gauntlet for change today…
- He asked 56 men & women to step up and be the new Founding Fathers (Primarily Congressmen & Senators)
- He asked all Americans to stop looking at things as Dems and Republicans… but instead as Americans
- He asked us all to focus on the corruption in the system… because it is the lynch pin to everything else.
- He asked all Americans to be watch dogs for corruption.
- He asked Americans to pressure Washington to stop the passing for anymore bills and legislation until the corruption is cleaned up.
- And finally he asked everyone who agrees with him or is even curious to watch or tape and watch his programs for the next couple of weeks, as well as listening to his daily syndicated radio show to put this all into motion~
