One Giant Leap Towards War

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton – the NoisyRoom – Cross-Posted at AskMarion

My good friends, this is the second time in our history that there has come back from Germany to Downing Street peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And now I recommend you to go home and sleep quietly in your beds. — Neville Chamberlain

Today, that diplomacy opened up a new path toward a world that is more secure — a future in which we can verify that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and that it cannot build a nuclear weapon. While today’s announcement is just a first step, it achieves a great deal. For the first time in nearly a decade, we have halted the progress of the Iranian nuclear program, and key parts of the program will be rolled back. — Barack Obama

So much for the US’ non-existent red line and the numerous UN Security Council resolutions that required Iran to halt nuclear enrichment. Now Iran gets six months to finish their nuclear preparations with no sanctions and in fact, with 4.2 billion dollars in additional aid from the US. We are actively funding and assisting with a planned extermination of the Jewish State. In the last great war, we fought against the NAZIs, who allied with radical Islam. This time around, we have switched sides.

I have no love for Bill Kristol, but his quote on this is timely and apropos:

What will the Obama administration’s leading lights say when this becomes obvious? When he sees his grand diplomatic achievement crumbling around him, will Secretary of State John Kerry join his counterpart, Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius, in sighing and exclaiming with pithy eloquence, “Uh-oh”? Will President Barack Obama offer the same apology to the Israelis that he has to Americans who held insurance policies they liked: “I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me”? As the implementation of the Iran agreement goes the way of the implementation of Obamacare, will his reaction be to say, “We’re going to have to, obviously, re-market and re-brand”?

The president and his colleagues will presumably say these sorts of things. But of course it will be too late. Congress can legislate to try to make up for the failure of Obama’s assurances about health insurance, and to try to help Americans get their old policies back. But Congress won’t be able to legislate to undo a nuclear Iran. The American people can ignore Obama’s efforts to re-market and re-brand Obamacare, and instead insist on its repeal. But the American people won’t be able to repeal Iran’s nuclear weapons once Iran has them.

Indeed. As the nukes begin to fly, will Obama feign shock and quietly applaud? I believe so, even when the EMPs strike America. His allegiances are to communists and Islamists, not to America. Israel will stand alone and fight it seems. My money is always on God’s people. For the first time in my life, I am ashamed to be an American. May God forgive us for what our ruler has wrought.

Video: Barack Obama: Iran Has a Right to Nuclear Energy

Video: UNREAL... Nuclear Deal Includes $4.2 Billion in Aid Relief to Iran

As my friend Maggie Thornton so aptly put it, Obama and the European leaders have just given the green light to Iran to kill the Jews and I might add, attack the US. This will be war in our time, count on it:

Representatives of Iran and Western powers reached an interim deal on Iran’s controversial nuclear program early Sunday morning, after a weekend of intensive talks in Geneva.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “Yes, we have a deal,” as he walked past reporters crowding the hotel lobby where marathon negotiations had taken place over the past five days. Asked if there was a deal, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said “Yes” and gave a thumbs up sign.

Diplomats refused to spell out details of the talks, but a senior Obama administration official said that the West had not conceded an Iranian right to produce nuclear fuel through uranium enrichment, a key sticking point in previous negotiations.

The official said the deal included an agreement that Iran would halt progress on its nuclear program, including a plutonium reactor at the Arak facility. The deal also calls on Iran to neutralize its 20-percent-enriched uranium stockpiles. Tehran has also agreed to intrusive inspections under the terms of the deal.

According to a Western diplomat quoted by Reuters, the deal would grant Iran access to $4.2 billion in foreign exchange.

In a statement Sunday morning, US President Barack Obama said the deal opened up a “real opportunity to achieve a peaceful settlement.”

“It won’t be easy,” he said, “and huge challenge remain ahead, but through strong and principled diplomacy, the United States will do our part” to deny Iran nuclear weapons. Obama acknowledged that the deal may be hard to stomach for some of Washington’s allies in the Middle East, saying, Israel and the Gulf countries, “have good reasons to be skeptical.”

The West has been seeking a six-month agreement to partially freeze Iran’s nuclear program while offering Iran incentives through limited sanctions relief. If the interim deal holds, the parties would negotiate final-stage deals to ensure Iran does not build nuclear weapons.

The agreement built on the momentum of the historic dialogue opened during September’s annual UN gathering, which included a 15-minute phone conversation between Obama and Iran’s new president, Hassan Rouhani, after three decades of US-Iranian estrangement.

“The Iranian people’s vote for moderation and constructive engagement, plus tireless efforts by negotiating teams are to open new horizons,” Rouhani said in a statement Sunday morning.

“Agreement in Geneva: first step makes world safer. More work now,” US Secretary of State John Kerry said in a comment tweeted by the State Department Sunday morning. The statement was retweeted by Rouhani’s account.

Kerry and his counterparts from Russia, Britain, France, China and Germany headed for Geneva Friday after diplomats said Zarif and EU representative Catherine Ashton had made significant progress.

A previous round of talks between Iran and the six world powers ended November 10 with no deal, even after Kerry, Lavrov, the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany and a Chinese deputy foreign minister flew in and attempted to bridge differences.

The United States and its negotiating partners had signaled they were ready to ease some sanctions in return for a first-step deal that starts to put limits on Iran’s nuclear program.

They wanted Iran to stop enriching to a level higher than its main stockpile and only a technical step away from weapons-grade uranium as part of such a deal. They also sought to limit overall enrichment, as well as a formulation that would reduce the proliferation danger from the Arak reactor, which, if completed, would produce enough plutonium for up to two weapons.

But they insist that the most severe penalties — on Tehran’s oil exports and banking sector — will remain until the two sides reach a comprehensive agreement to minimize Iran’s nuclear arms-making capacity.

No details on relief offered have been made public. And the US administration has not commented on reports from congressional officials that Obama’s team estimates Iran could get $6-10 billion in benefits over six months for rolling back its nuclear program.

Several US senators — both Democrat and Republican — have voiced displeasure with the parameters of the potential agreement, arguing that the US and its partners are offering too much for something short of a full freeze on uranium enrichment.

Iran evidently got everything they wanted and more, including money to speed along their evil little venture. I expected this and even I am shocked. Iran never even slowed down. They were confident of the outcome, one way or the other. They are on a mission from their God — one for the Mahdi that ends in blood across the globe. It would seem the leaders of the world are cool with that, especially Obama. In fact, Russia is funding two new nuclear power plants as I write this. You knew the Ruskies were behind Iran, right? I’ve stated it enough on this blog. Russia is using Iran to do its dirty work for them and Obama knows it.

And its not just Iran and Russia. China is stepping it up and making a move as well:

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said Saturday the United States is “deeply concerned” over China’s move to establish an air defense zone over a string of disputed islands in the East China Sea.

“We view this development as a destabilizing attempt to alter the status quo in the region,” Hagel said in a statement. “This unilateral action increases the risk of misunderstanding and miscalculations.”

The Associated Press reports that the Chinese Defense Ministry issued a map showing the new East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone, which encompasses what the Chinese call the Diaoyu islands. The move is seen as an aggressive step against Japan, which bought what it calls the Senkaku islands from private owners in 2012. The islands are uninhabited, but are believed to rest near large underwater oil reserves. Taiwan also claims possession of the islands.

Hagel said the map will have no effect on how the United States conducts military operations in the area, and that concerns are being conveyed to China “through diplomatic and military channels.” Hagel also said the United States believes that the Senkaku islands are included as part of Japan in the U.S. Japan Mutual Defense Treaty.

China worries the US, but not enough to actually do anything. It’s all lip service and faux concern. As far as the US is concerned, China can do whatever she wants. After all, she owns us right?

You would never know we are on the brink of war as our dufus Kerry slaps backs and shakes hands with monsters — takes one to know one, I guess:

After Ashton read out a statement on the deal to the cameras at the United Nations in Geneva, ministers appeared elated. Ashton and Kerry hugged each other, and Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov shook hands. Minutes later, as the Iranian delegation posed for photos, Zarif and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius approached each other and embraced.

A White House fact sheet detailed what Iran could obtain:

  • Potential access to $1.5 billion in revenue from trade in gold and precious metals and the suspension of some sanctions on Iran’s auto sector, and its petrochemical exports;
  • Allow purchases of Iranian oil to remain at their currently significantly reduced levels. “$4.2 billion from these sales will be allowed to be transferred in installments if, and as, Iran fulfills its commitments,” the fact sheet said;
  • License safety-related repairs and inspections inside Iran for certain Iranian airlines.

Most of the sanctions, Kerry said, would remain in place.

“The approximately $7 billion in relief is a fraction of the costs that Iran will continue to incur during this first phase under the sanctions that will remain in place,” the White House said. “The vast majority of Iran’s approximately $100 billion in foreign exchange holdings are inaccessible or restricted.”

I agree with General Thomas G. McInerney that the US now faces the greatest threat it has seen militarily since 1930:

Video: Gen. Thomas G. McInerney --- Arutz Sheva

The Jew hatred is ratcheting up in the UN and across Europe. You also see it in the knock out games here in the US and in our government. Now, the United Nations has barred Jews from attending a Monday meeting of the United Nations Division of ‘Palestinian’ Rights reports Adam Kredo at the Washington Free Beacon:

The Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust (IHRH), a U.N.-approved NGO group, claims the U.N. Division for Palestinian Rights (UNDPR) has unjustly barred 18 pro-Israel Jews from attending a Monday event marking the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.”

U.N. security officials initially had granted the Touro Institute credentials permitting 18 Birthright Israel alumni to attend the daylong series of meetings, which will be attended by the U.N.’s most high-level officials.

However, those credentials were quickly revoked at the behest of the UNDPR, according to IHRH officials and e-mails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The incident has sparked a pointed back-and-forth between U.N. officials and IHRH director Anne Bayefsky, who accuses the body of allowing the UNDPR to effectively bar pro-Israel groups from attending major events regarding the Palestinians.

Bayefsky is concerned that this behavior is part of a larger trend by the Palestinians to control the narrative at the U.N. and prevent dissenting voices from being heard.

Bayefsky has registered her concerns with multiple U.S. officials and even U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power, who has yet to reply.

“This is the face of modern anti-Semitism by the U.N.,” Bayefsky told the Free Beacon when asked about the days-long back-and-forth. “This is the how discrimination works in the real-life operation of the U.N. Where is Ambassador Samantha Power?”

Kerry sold Israel and all of us down the river as Weasel Zippers put it. True that. But this was decided upon long ago. Valerie Jarrett has been holding secret talks with the Iranians (her family is from Iran) for a year. Obama has never been Israel’s friend – he has always been their enemy. And by the way, they lied about these secret negotiations. But that’s okay, they were only lying to the infidels:

WASHINGTON – The United States and Iran secretly engaged in a series of high-level, face-to-face talks over the past year, in a high-stakes diplomatic gamble by the Obama administration that paved the way for the historic deal sealed early Sunday in Geneva aimed at slowing Tehran’s nuclear program, The Associated Press has learned.

The discussions were kept hidden even from America’s closest friends, including its negotiating partners and Israel, until two months ago, and that may explain how the nuclear accord appeared to come together so quickly after years of stalemate and fierce hostility between Iran and the West.

But the secrecy of the talks may also explain some of the tensions between the U.S. and France, which earlier this month balked at a proposed deal, and with Israel, which is furious about the agreement and has angrily denounced the diplomatic outreach to Tehran.

President Barack Obama personally authorized the talks as part of his effort — promised in his first inaugural address — to reach out to a country the State Department designates as the world’s most active state sponsor of terrorism.

The talks were held in the Middle Eastern nation of Oman and elsewhere with only a tight circle of people in the know, the AP learned. Since March, Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and Jake Sullivan, Vice President Joe Biden’s top foreign policy adviser, have met at least five times with Iranian officials.

The last four clandestine meetings, held since Iran’s reform-minded President Hassan Rouhani was inaugurated in August, produced much of the agreement later formally hammered out in negotiations in Geneva among the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, Germany and Iran, said three senior administration officials. All spoke only on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss by name the highly sensitive diplomatic effort.

The AP was tipped to the first U.S.-Iranian meeting in March shortly after it occurred, but the White House and State Department disputed elements of the account and the AP could not confirm the meeting. The AP learned of further indications of secret diplomacy in the fall and pressed the White House and other officials further. As the Geneva talks appeared to be reaching their conclusion, senior administration officials confirmed to the AP the details of the extensive outreach.

I am sooo freaking tired of the lies. Just bring on the Hunger Games already.

There are those in Congress that are stating this is the best deal we could get. Now, that’s hilarious. It’s the best deal we could get, because Obama arranged it that way, you morons.

Daniel Pipes put it best:

This wretched deal offers one occasion when comparison with Neville Chamberlain in Munich in 1938 is valid. An overeager Western government, blind to the evil cunning of the regime it so much wants to work with, appeases it with concessions that will come back to haunt it. Geneva and Nov. 24 will be remembered along with Munich and Sep. 29.

Barack Obama has made many foreign policy errors in the past five years, but this is the first to rank as a disaster. Along with the health care law, it is one of his worst-ever steps. John Kerry is a too-eager puppy looking for a deal at any price.

With the U.S. government forfeiting its leadership role, the Israelis, Saudis, and perhaps others are left to cope with a bad situation made worse. War has now become a much more likely prospect. Shame on we Americans for re-electing Barack Obama.

As the world charges into the breach of a Neville Chamberlain in Munich in 1938 moment, the US has taken one giant leap towards world war.

Beck: Furious After Boehner Doesn’t Allow Congressmen To Attend Rally: ‘The Republican Party Sickens Me’

As Mediaite readers know, Glenn Beck is the undisputed king of the angry monologue. Unfortunately though (or fortunately, depending on your opinion of the man), we haven’t gotten much of it recently in this time between his Fox News and GBTV shows. However, today on his radio show, Beck let loose with a torrent of anger and frustration at an issue he described as having been going on for a few weeks now. Before he began, Beck said he would post what he was going to say online, thus forever disproving anyone who thought he was a “shill” for the Republican Party.

Considering the amount of venom he then let out towards the GOP establishment, he can consider his point made.

It all started with a conversation with Rep. Joe Walsh who described sadly the fact that House Speaker Boehner’s office had denied his and other congressmen’s requests to attend Beck Israel rally in an official capacity as a fact-finding mission. Beck maintained his composure during the call with Walsh, offering the Illinois Congressman a free GBTV membership to watch from there. However, you could hear just how frustrated he was with the whole situation as he wondered allowed if Boehner wasn’t just punishing Tea Party Republicans for not voting for his debt plan.

Then, once Walsh was off the line, Beck really got into it:

“Speaker Boehner, you should be ashamed of yourself. The Republican Party should be ashamed of themselves. They don’t have to attend my event. Let them come to our biggest ally and our only friend in the Middle East in their hour of need. They don’t have to attend my event! In fact, I’ll ban them. Does that make you happy? Let Congress come here! You should be ashamed of yourself for playing politics. That’s what it is, Boehner, and you know it. The Republican Party sickens me.”

Listen to the full segment including the conversation with Walsh below:

Yesterday I received ‘a special deal’ message from WND yesterday which included a (15-minute) clip from one of Beck’s Fox Shows on Iran and the Islamic Antichrist or 12th Imam that Ahmadinejad believes in and therefore really is at the center of what is going on in Israel and the Middle East.  It is a video worth watching… for the first time or a review, so am sharing it again.

Also just a reminder that if you haven’t joined GBTV.com and aren’t already an Insider, Beck’s Event in Israel Restoring Courage is on 8.24.11 and you can watch it there.  (Restoring Courage follows his successful event in Washington D.C. last summer Restoring Honor.

And please pray for Glenn and all those who are travelling to Israel for his Restoring Courage Event.  Beck has become a champion for Israel and has received blessings for his event from the top Israeli Rabbi.

Geert Cleared!

Video:  Anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders cleared of hate speech

Right Dutch politician Geert Wilders, tried for 'inciting hatred and discrimination', has been cleared of all charges. He had reportedly described Islam as 'a fascist religion that allows terrorism' and called for the Koran to be banned. Wilders insisted his comments were not directed at Muslim believers but at Islam - and they formed a legitimate political debate. The verdict was broadcast live on Dutch TV.

Embracing Sharia(h) law for a vote…  It is perhaps time we take heed…

Anotherclip_image001

Two Republican Presidential candidates have embraced sharia Islam. Their names are Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty.

At the recent Republican Presidential debate held in New Hampshire on June 13, 2011 the issue of shariah law came up. CNN.com reports Candidate Herman Cain said:

“I don’t believe in Sharia law in American courts, I believe in American laws in American courts, period. There have been instances in New Jersey, there was an instance in Oklahoma , where Muslims did try to influence court decisions with Sharia law, I was simply saying, very emphatically, American laws in American courts.”

A recent study by the Center for Security Policy backs up the comments made by Mr. Cain and found shariah law was used in recent court cases in 23 states.

So how did the other candidates respond to this fact?

According to CNN.com:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who spoke next, appeared to brush aside Cain’s concerns about Sharia and his suspicions of American Muslims. “Of course, we're not going to have Sharia law applied in U.S. courts. That's never going to happen,” Romney said. "We have a Constitution and we follow the law.” Romney then appeared to defend American Muslims, even if he didn’t mention them specifically.

This is interesting because Politico reports that in November 2007 Mitt Romney said:

As [Mansoor] Ijaz recounted the exchange in an opinion piece in Tuesday’s Christian Science Monitor, “I asked Mr. Romney whether he would consider including qualified Americans of the Islamic faith in his Cabinet as advisers on national security matters, given his position that ‘jihadism’ is the principal foreign policy threat facing America today. “He answered, ‘ ... based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a Cabinet position would be justified. But of course, I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration,’” Ijaz wrote.

So what has changed?

I just received a video from Dick Morris. In this video commentary, Mr. Morris talks about Tim Pawlenty & Sharia Law. Mr. Morris criticized Pawlenty for a Sharia compliant housing loan program in Minnesota. Former Governor Pawlenty accused Mr. Morris as being "reckless" "offensive" and "absolutely crazy".

Please watch Mr. Morris's rebuttal.

As Newt Gingrich said at the debate:

“I'm in favor of saying to people, 'If you're not prepared to be loyal to the United States, you will not serve in my administration, period. ' We did this in dealing with the Nazis and we did this in dealing with the communists, and it was controversial both times, and both times we discovered after a while, there are some genuinely bad people who would like to infiltrate our country. And we have got to have the guts to stand up and say no.”

The use of Sharia law in American courts is a valid issue that must be debated during the Republican primary race and in the general election. Islamists will do everything they can to demonize those who speak out by calling them Islamaphobes. This is the same tactic that Communists use today calling those who speak out MaCarthyites.

To silence debate on Sharia Islam is to surrender to those who have demonstrated the clear intent, will and capacity to destroy America.

Iranian Regime Waiting for the Twelfth Imam and Creeping Sharia in America

All this week, Glenn has been asking the questions - Who is looking out for Israel? And, who is standing up for freedom here and all over the world? Well, one thing is for certain- we know the answer to these questions is certainly not Iran. They want to take both the United States and Israel down and clear the path for the Twelfth Imam. Glenn welcomes a special guest to this program... a former member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard shares some frightening video that proves the regime is indeed preparing for the return of the Twelfth Imam. Are We Standing on the Wrong Side… Of History?

Obama and Ahmadinejad

Is Barack Obama the "promised warrior" coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?

The question has made the rounds in Iran since last month, when a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.

According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet's cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a "tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West." Commanding "the strongest army on earth," the new ruler in the West will carry "a clear sign" from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: "Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us."

In a curious coincidence Obama's first and second names--Barack Hussein--mean "the blessing of Hussein" in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means "he is with us," the magic formula in Majlisi's tradition.

Mystical reasons aside, the Khomeinist establishment sees Obama's rise as another sign of the West's decline and the triumph of Islam. Obama's promise to seek unconditional talks with the Islamic Republic is cited as a sign that the U.S. is ready to admit defeat. Obama's position could mean abandoning three resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council setting conditions that Iran should meet to avoid sanctions. Seeking unconditional talks with the Khomeinists also means an admission of moral equivalence between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic. It would imply an end to the description by the U.S. of the regime as a "systematic violator of human rights."

Obama has abandoned claims by all U.S. administrations in the past 30 years that Iran is "a state sponsor of terrorism." Instead, he uses the term "violent groups" to describe Iran-financed outfits such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

Obama has also promised to attend a summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference within the first 100 days of his presidency. Such a move would please the mullahs, who have always demanded that Islam be treated differently, and that Muslim nations act as a bloc in dealings with Infidel nations.

Obama's election would boost President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's chances of winning a second term next June. Ahmadinejad's entourage claim that his "steadfastness in resisting the American Great Satan" was a factor in helping Obama defeat "hardliners" such as Hillary Clinton and, later, it hopes, John McCain.

"President Ahmadinejad has taught Americans a lesson," says Hassan Abbasi, a "strategic adviser" to the Iranian president. "This is why they are now choosing someone who understands Iran's power." The Iranian leader's entourage also point out that Obama copied his campaign slogan "Yes, We Can" from Ahmadinejad's "We Can," used four years ago.

A number of Khomeinist officials have indicated their preference for Obama over McCain, who is regarded as an "enemy of Islam." A Foreign Ministry spokesman says Iran does not wish to dictate the choice of the Americans but finds Obama "a better choice for everyone." Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Islamic Majlis, Iran's ersatz parliament, has gone further by saying the Islamic Republic "prefers to see Barack Obama in the White House" next year.

Tehran's penchant for Obama, reflected in the official media, increased when the Illinois senator chose Joseph Biden as his vice-presidential running mate. Biden was an early supporter of the Khomeinist revolution in 1978-1979 and, for the past 30 years, has been a consistent advocate of recognizing the Islamic Republic as a regional power. He has close ties with Khomeinist lobbyists in the U.S. and has always voted against sanctions on Iran.

Ahmadinejad has described the U.S. as a "sunset" (ofuli) power as opposed to Islam, which he says is a "sunrise" (toluee) power. Last summer, he inaugurated an international conference called World Without America--attended by anti-Americans from all over the world, including the U.S.

Seen from Tehran, Obama's election would demoralize the U.S. armed forces by casting doubt on their victories in Iraq and Afghanistan, if not actually transforming them into defeat. American retreat from the Middle East under Obama would enable the Islamic Republic to pursue hegemony of the region. Tehran is especially interested in dominating Iraq, thus consolidating a new position that extends its power to the Mediterranean through Syria and Lebanon.

During the World Without America conference, several speakers speculated that Obama would show "understanding of Muslim grievances" with regard to Palestine. Ahmadinejad hopes to persuade a future President Obama to adopt the "Iranian solution for Palestine," which aims at creating a single state in which Jews would quickly become a minority.

Judging by anecdotal evidence and the buzz among Iranian bloggers, while the ruling Khomeinists favor Obama, the mass of Iranians regard (and dislike) the Democrat candidate as an appeaser of the mullahs. Iran, along with Israel, is the only country in the Middle East where the United States remains popular. An Obama presidency, perceived as friendly to the oppressive regime in Tehran, may change that.

ECONOMIC DISORDER

It's a Soros World Order
'Bretton Woods Conference' designed to create global economy

Billionaire investor George Soros has stepped up his funding of direct efforts to establish a global new world order, seeking to reorganize the world economy to reduce the importance of the U.S. economy.

On April 8, Soros is funding what is shaping up to be an international conference aimed at repeating the famed 1944 Bretton Woods conference that helped create the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund at the end of World War II, according to a report by the Media Research Center, or MRC.

This time, Soros is spending $50 million to rally 200 academic, business and government policy leaders to explore "establishing new international rules" and "reform the currency system."

What Soros wants to accomplish is to move along the globalist agenda of replacing the U.S. dollar as the world's reserve currency, with the goal of diminishing the ability of the United States to set the terms for the global economy.

The Institute for New Economic Thinking, or INET, a New York City-based Soros-funded group, is hosting the conference scheduled for April 8-11, 2011, at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, N. H., the site of the original conference that set the post-World War II global financial structure until now.

The MRC report noted the speakers scheduled at the INET event leave no doubt about Soros' purpose:

Paul Volker, chairman of President Obama's Economic Advisory Board: MRC notes Volker wrote the forward to Soros' best-known book, "The Alchemy of Finance," and praised Soros as "an enormously successful speculator" who wrote "with insight and passion" about the problems of globalization.

Jeffrey Sachs, director of The Earth Institute and a long-time recipient of Soros grants: According to MRC, Sachs received $50 million for the U.N. Millennium Project, which he also directs. In 2009, Sachs, a noted leftist, complained about low U.S. taxes, saying the "U.S. will have to raise taxes in order to pay for new spending initiatives, especially in the areas of sustainable energy, climate change, education, and relief for the poor."

Soros' friend, Joseph E. Stiglitz, a former senior vice president and chief economist for the World Bank and Nobel Prize winner in economics: MRC noted Stiglitz shares similar views to Soros and has criticized free-market economists, whom he calls "free-market fundamentalists."

INET Executive Director Rob Johnson, a former managing director at Soros Fund Management who is on the board of directors for the Soros-funded Economic Policy Institute: MRC observed that Johnson has complained that government intervention in the fiscal crisis hasn't been enough and wanted "restructuring," including asking "for letters of resignation from the top executives of all the major banks.

"Have no doubt about it: This is a Soros event from top to bottom," MRC concluded.

"The Soros empire is silent about this new Bretton Woods conference because it isn't just designed to change global economic rules," MRC wrote. "It also is designed to put American in its place - part of a multilateral world the way Soros wants it."

Soros, a post-American globalist

In his many books, billionaire hedge-fund manager George Soros has made clear he views economic globalism as an accomplished fact.

Financial markets became "truly global in the early 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union," Soros wrote in his book "On Globalization."

Yet, Soros warns, "While markets have become global, politics remain firmly rooted in the sovereignty of the state."

He is up-front that the formation of international institutions of governance has lagged behind the development of global markets: "The development of international institutions has not kept pace with the growth of global financial markets.

Private capital movements far outweigh the facilities of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank."

Soros has offered many different proposals for overhauling the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization.

Yet, always his conclusion is the same: Global financial markets require international regulation from a new generation of world governance organizations capable of imposing global political control over global economics.

That Soros derives his perspective from globalism is indisputable. "Globalism has made the world increasingly interdependent," he insists.

And again, "Although it would be utopian to replace the people's sovereignty with something else, that principle, on its own, is inadequate for today's increasingly interdependent world."

Keeping with the theme, Soros characterizes himself as a "stateless statesman."

Much of Soros' intellectual framework is based his education at the London School of Economics, where he was deeply influenced by philosopher Karl Popper's call for an "Open Society."

While Popper refused to give his call for an Open Society a precise definition, Popper railed against ideologies that proclaimed a person could only become free by becoming a true believer.

Popper identified Hitler's Nazism and Stalin's communism as enemies of the Open Society.

The Open Society is best understood as a type of intellectual and political freedom in which all ideas are constantly able to be challenged, based on the premise that there is no "political truth" as such, only a value relativism in which all ideas must be subject to constant challenge.

In a revealing passage, Soros identifies his antipathy to George W. Bush in terms fashioned from Popper's Open Society philosophy: "When I heard President Bush say, 'Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists,' I was reminded of Nazi propaganda."

Fundamentally, Soros criticized the "Bush agenda" as being "nationalistic," too focused on pursuing narrowly defined U.S. nation-state interests.

Soros was particularly vituperative toward Vice President Cheney whom he demonized as "the power behind the throne," and characterized as working with Defense Secretary Rumsfeld as having largely succeeded "in imposing their views on Bush."

Asking how he came to have a position of influence on world affairs, Soros honestly admitted, "I have made a lot of money."

FUEL PRICE SPIKE
Gas surges to $3.50 a gallon
Still, U.S. refuses to pressure OPEC, oil giants to increase supply

As average gasoline prices in the United States topped $3.50/gallon last week, according to Energy Information Administration estimates, President Obama was encouraging offshore drilling - in Brazil.

Still, while the liberals in Congress, including Obama, pounded President George W. Bush when gasoline prices spiked, Obama is getting a pass from the mainstream media.

The truth is that the U.S. government, under both Bush and Obama, has largely been responsible for keeping energy prices high, not just by a refusal to develop U.S. domestic oil and natural gas reserves, but by our cooperation with OPEC and the major oil companies in what amounts to international collusion to restrict the supply of oil and keep the price high.

The conundrum is this: Why, with a continuing worldwide economic downturn and the damage done to the Japanese economy by the earthquake and tsunami, are oil prices continuing to spike?

The answer lies in realizing high oil prices remain good business for oil producers, especially when the United States stands by watching, as if helpless to do anything to impact world oil supplies.

We are OPEC

Since the 1973 OPE oil embargo, Americans have largely perceived OPEC as being controlled by oil producers outside the power of the United States.

Still, since the initiation of the Iraq war in 2003 and the fall of Saddam Hussein, the United States has quietly assumed a seat at the OPEC table, through our occupation of Iraq and our control of Iraqi governmental processes.

Until OPEC adopted a $22-$28 per barrel price band for the OPEC basket of crude, oil prices only exceeded $28/barrel during times of war or conflict in the Middle East.

When OPEC abandoned its price band in 2005, oil began to surge.

Iraq currently produces about 2.5 million barrels of oil a day, 2 million of which are exported, a level of production close to that before the U.S.-led war deposed Saddam in 2003, but somewhat less that Iraqi production of oil before the Gulf War in 1991, according to CNN.

Instead of increasing Iraqi oil production for the benefit of the United States, the Obama administration has stood by idly, permitting China in August 2008 to sign a contract with the China National Petroleum Corporation, allowing China to develop a vast oil field in southern Iraq's Wasit province for the next 20 years.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Oil Ministry has continued to negotiate short-term, no-bid contracts with U.S. and EU oil companies, including Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Total SA, Chevron and BP.

Even as the world demand for oil has tapered in conjunction with the reduced economic activity since 2006, in the worst global economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, oil has traded at or above $40/barrel, surging recently to more than $100/barrel with the political turmoil sweeping the Middle East and the civil war in Libya.

Still, since 2003 no congressional committee has demanded an investigation into why U.S. government officials from Washington to Baghdad have failed to insist upon a return to the OPEC price band that would hold the price of oil to the traditionally accepted price of oil at somewhere between $22-$28/barrel.

The high oil prices fly in the face of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Global demand for oil, especially as we teeter on the second dip of a double-dip worldwide recession, should bring about falling prices in a truly free market.

Civil war in Libya is good for business

When U.S. sanctions on Libya were lifted in 2005, Occidental Petroleum was the first American company to resume operations there.

Today, Occidental Production in Libya remains constant at about 13,000 barrels a day, about 2 percent of Occidental's company-wide production, despite the onset of the civil war, Fox Business reported.

Last week, the U.S. Treasury banned U.S. companies from dealing with 14 entities controlled by Libya's National Oil Company, or NOC; the EU almost immediately followed suit with its own sanctions on oil companies owned by the Libyan government, the Wall Street Journal reported.

OPEC cut oil shipments to the lowest level since October, with shipments falling to 23 million barrels a day, down 1.8 percent from 23.46 million in the period to March 12, according to Bloomberg.

"It's a precipitous drop," Oil Movements founder Roy Manson told Bloomberg. "Market tightness will get worse through the spring as refiners are coming out of maintenance now and their capacity is up."

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has pledged to replace lost Libyan output.

Exactly how much the civil war in Libya will push oil prices up depends in large part on how long the conflict lasts.

Still, even with Saudi Arabia increasing output, the Libyan conflict provides a convenient excuse for OPEC to restrict supply, allowing market forces to spike the price of oil, despite the continuing worldwide recession and the disruption to economic activity caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

REP. ALLEN WEST TELLS ‘KORAN-WIELDING‘ CAIR

Shark Tank:

At a townhall meeting hosted by Congressman Allen West on Monday evening in Pompano Beach, the Q&A segment of the meeting featured a Koran wielding Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Hamze confronted Congressman West and asked him to point out where in the Koran does it give marching orders to Muslims “to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people”. West quickly pointed out that the Koran was written long before America even existed and that it does indeed tell believers to kill infidels, and then proceeded to chronicle a lengthy list of historical Muslim acts of aggression.

Rumors of War: Catch up on the Middle East crisis

Rumors of War, Mercury’s latest documentary, is available On Demand on Insider Extreme.

The documentary explores the dangers that a nuclear Iran presents to the free world, as well as provides insight into the extremist regime that world leaders will be dealing with as they prepare to begin nuclear talks. The special also examines the Iranian government’s beliefs and history.

For over a year, the filmmakers have been researching and shooting this documentary. They have performed extensive interviews with former high ranking government and military officials who have been a part of top secret strategy sessions regarding the growing threat of a nuclear Iran.

Rumors of War examines the current leadership of Iran, Ahmadenjiad, Khameini, who are part of a radical Muslim sect that believe it is their duty to hasten the return of the 12th Imam,  a Jesus-like figure who will wipe the planet clean of Iran’s enemies, of which Israel and the United States rank 1 and 1a.  They believe, and have stated publically that by initiating worldwide chaos they can bring about his return.

There is irrefutable evidence that they have already taken steps in that direction through terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas – adding nuclear weapons to the equation would literally put the entire world at risk.

“Rumors of War reveals the true threat level a nuclear Iran poses to the United States and the Israel, including ramifications no one to date has talked about.  The documentary reveals what may be the only solution to this grave problem,” producers added.

The documentary is available exclusively to Insider Extreme members. Subscribers to Insider Extreme not only get access to Mercury’s exclusive documentary’s, but also a six-camera shoot of the radio show, The 4th Hour with Pat and Stu, live event specials, and more. Iran is now a 'nuclear state' says Ahmadinejad as thousands take to the streets

  • Opposition leader attacked

Iran is now a 'nuclear state', President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced this morning.

As Gordon Brown warned that the world's patience is wearing thin, Ahmadinejad told scores of cheering Iranians that the Islamic Republic is capable of producing weapons-grade uranium.

He spoke as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

Despite fears of violence, opposition supporters found themselves largely overwhelmed by the clerical regime and pro-government demonstrators.

The massive security clampdown appeared to succeed in preventing protesters from converging into a cohesive demonstrations.

Large numbers of riot police, members of the Revolutionary Guard and Basij militiamen, some on motorcycles, deployed in back streets near key squares and major avenues in the capital to move against protesters.

He said it had produced its first batch of 20 per cent enriched uranium - and had the capability to enrich to far higher levels at its Natanz plant.

Enriching uranium produces fuel for a nuclear power plants but can also be used to create material for atomic weapons.

The international community has warned Iran against further enrichment activities, threatening new UN sanctions.

Today Gordon Brown again reiterated the threat of sanctions.

'I believe the mood around the world is now increasingly one where, patience not being inexhaustible, people are turning to look at the specific sanctions we can plan on Iran,' Mr Brown said.

'This is a critical time for Iran's relationship with the rest of the world.'

MrBrown said the international community did not want to impose sanctions but would do so if Iran did not cooperate more fully over its nuclear plans

The Iranian leader insisted the material was not intended to produce an atomic bomb, however.

'We have the capability to enrich uranium more than 20 percent or 80 percent (the level needed to create an atomic bomb),' he said in a speech broadcast live on state television.

'But we don't enrich (to this level) because we don't need it...

'When we say we do not manufacture the bomb, we mean it, and we do not believe in manufacturing a bomb,' he told the crowd. 'If we wanted to manufacture a bomb we would announce it.'

Thousands of supporters had been brought in on buses to hear Ahmadinejad speak as security forces threatened to crush any opposition protests.

Witnesses say security forces fired paint balls to disperse anti-government protesters in one of the first clashes of the day's ceremonies.

The unrest began after protesters began to chant opposition slogans in Sadeqieh Square, which is about a half-mile (one kilometer) from a huge pro-government gathering where President Ahmadinejad delivered his speech.

Witnesses say there were no apparent injuries among the several hundred protesters.

Internet speeds around the capital dropped dramatically this morning as the government tried to foil demonstrations against the regime.

State television showed live footage of crowds carrying Iranian flags and pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei making their way to Azadi (freedom) Square in central Tehran, where the main gathering is being held.

Opposition members went on rooftops late Wednesday and shouted Allah-u-Akbar ('God is greatest') in protest - echoing similar cries after the disputed June election as well as anti-shah protests more than three decades ago.

'There is a heavy presence of security forces everywhere. Police trucks are at every major intersection,' said a witness in central Tehran. Police helicopters were flying over the city.

An opposition website, Iran Green Voice, reported large numbers of opposition supporters gathering in several cities, including Tehran and the northern city of Tabriz.

'In some parts of Tehran, opposition supporters are chanting 'Death to the Dictator'' the website said.

Security forces are equipped with water cannon to disperse opposition protests, the opposition website Jaras reported.

Other opposition websites spoke of groups of protesters in the hundreds, compared to much larger crowds in past demonstrations

One protester told The Associated Press she had tried to join the demonstrations but soon left in disappointment.

'There were 300 of us, maximum 500. Against 10,000 people,' she told an AP reporter outside Iran. She said there were few clashes.

'It means they won and we lost. They defeated us. They were able to gather so many people,' she said. 'But this doesn't mean we have been defeated for good. It's a defeat for now, today. We need time to regroup.'

Another protester insisted the opposition had come out in significant numbers, but 'the problem was that we were not able to gather in one place because they (security forces) were very violent.'

'Maybe people got scared,' he said. 'The idea wasn't to lose or win today ... But what is certain, today was not a good day.'

The opposition leaders have promised to join street rallies, including the Green movement founder and former presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi.

Police chief Esmail Ahmadi-Moghaddam said on Wednesday the Revolutionary Guards and Basij Islamic militia were ready for any incident.

'In case of any riots, public disturbance and disorder ... police will detain and keep rioters in prison until April 9,' an unnamed official told the semi-official Fars news agency on Thursday.

The Islamic state is facing its worst domestic crisis in three decades as opposition supporters have rallied round reformists who lost to Ahmadinejad in the election.

In recent months, the opposition has built its street protest strategy around days of important political or religious significance in attempts to embarrass authorities.

The tone of the rallies, however, has shifted from outrage over alleged fraud in President Ahmadinejad's re-election to wider calls against the entire Islamic system, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Neither side has shown much appetite for compromise in the eight months since the disputed June presidential vote, which the opposition says was rigged to secure Ahmadinejad's re-election.

Iran faces growing Western calls for targeted sanctions against it after Ahmadinejad ordered production of higher-grade uranium, stirring fears that Tehran aims to make nuclear bombs, not just fuel for civilian use as it says is the case.

The authorities, who say the poll was fair, have struggled to suppress the protests, and opened trials in recent weeks of people charged in connection with bloody riots on December 27.

Opposition leaders have said the trials were an attempt to deter people from taking part in protests today.

Iranian authorities again tried to squeeze off text messaging and Web links in attempts to cripple protest organisers. The opposition has used internet and text messaging as its main communication channels.

Internet service was sharply slowed, mobile phone service widely cut and there were repeated disruptions in popular instant messaging services such as Google chat.

But several Iranians reached by The Associated Press said some messenger services, including Yahoo!, and mobile phone texting were still sporadically accessible. Many Internet users said they could not log into their Gmail account, Google's e-mail service, since last week.

'We have heard from users in Iran that they are having trouble accessing Gmail,' said Google in a statement. 'We can confirm a sharp drop in traffic and we have looked at our own networks and found that they are working properly.'

An Iranian opposition website claimed today that security forces attacked opposition leader Mehdi Karoubi when he attended a rally.

'Karoubi was attacked by security forces in central Tehran... they shattered his car's windows ... Karoubi was not seriously injured,' Jaras website reported. The same website said security forces also attacked former president Mohammad Khatami.

The Islamic Republic has survived many challenges, not least a 1980-88 war started by Iraq's Saddam Hussein, whose forces were propped up by Gulf Arab oil money and Western weaponry.

But the national unity forged in that trauma has long given way to rifts within clerical and political elites that widened after the June election. Street protests have flared periodically ever since, sometimes around official rallies.

Attending February 11 events is a tradition for many in the country of 70 million, over half of whom have only ever known the Islamic Republic established by the revolution led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

'If we all stay at home, our youngsters will be left alone on Bahman 22 (February 11). We should support them,' said Laleh, a 67-year-old housewife. 'I have nothing to lose.'

Iranian Nobel Peace laureate Shirin Ebadi said on Wednesday her country faced a catastrophe that would wreck peace in the whole Middle East if what she called government repression of the people were not halted.

Opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Karoubi say the reform movement is alive despite pressure from the hardline rulers to disband. Karoubi predicted last month that Ahmadinejad would not be able to complete his four-year term.

'Even if he stays in power until the end of his term, he will be the weakest president since the revolution,' an Iranian analyst who did not want to be named said this week.

Any average person on the street in America and Europe could have told the government that this was happening and that we should have done something years ago. Just as everyone knew that they were playing us for time this entire past year as Obama was apologizing to the Arab World. Why, because it is common sense!! You really have to wonder why we keep electing socialist leaning, anti-American, Ivy League elitists who have sold us down the river and can’t get it through our thick heads that Isreal is right on this matter and that people like Sarah Palin are the kind of people “average people… like most Americans, that may not be from Harvard and write notes on her hand, who would always decide for America and for Freedom, instead of ideologies that never have and never will work and only enslave people. Whether it is Sarah Palin, Ron Paul or someone we haven’t even met yet… the elitists will continue to make them look bad and poll bad to try to keep “the people” down. Remember where we came from, the Founding Fathers and start using some common sense and living by the Constitution and removing those from office who don’t!!
