Multiculturalism

The major members of the EU and Europe, Germany, France and Canada, are now outwardly admitting that multiculturalism is a failure, doesn’t work and threatens the existence of their countries and their way of life.  Rep and Ret Col Allen West agrees 100% while Australian Prime Minister had issued an ultimatum to immigrants.  The question is when will the United States wake up and realize that they have been had by the Progressive globalists, which include radical Islam, using the tools of multiculturalism, political correctness and dumbing down the youth and average populations of all these countries to move us toward a new global order ( or NWO)?

Multiculturalism Has Failed

  By R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. on 2.17.11 @ 6:09AM

WASHINGTON -- Now the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, has joined the chorus. The other day he said, "My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure." The "it" was multiculturalism, and he was on French national television. In pronouncing multiculturalism defunct, the French president joins German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australia's ex-prime minister John Howard, Spain's ex-premier Jose Maria Aznar, and, most recently, British Prime Minister David Cameron in heaving a failed policy into history's dustbin. The question is, what will replace it? Or actually another question: how did multiculturalism ever become a policy of these European countries anyway?

"If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France," explained Sarkozy. "Of course," he explained, "we must all respect differences, but we do not want…a society where communities coexist side by side." Actually they have not existed side by side in recent years. Certain cultures were deferred to by the Europeans, namely Islam. Others were not. If your culture entertained cannibalism, you could not sit down to a nice leg of neighbor. Yet if your culture was Muslim, and you wanted to arrange a marriage for your daughter, authorities looked the other way. If you were the village atheist, you could not say God is a monstrosity and Allah is an impossibility. That would be a "hate crime," and you would be in hot water. On the other hand, you could say "Allah akbar," and no one was offended other than the village atheist.

Now the European leaders are giving this sort of tolerance of intolerance a second look. Prime Minister Cameron has called for a "more active, more muscular liberalism," one that requires the active promotion of democratic values, the rule of law, freedom of speech, and equal rights. In a recent speech in Munich he argued that, "under the doctrine of state multiculturalism, we have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and the mainstream." The result is alienation and occasionally jihadism.

So how did the Europeans end up with multiculturalism, a multiculturalism that seems to favor Islam over other cultures? The Germans have outlawed Nazi culture. The Italians are not particularly hospitable to fascism, and as I have already pointed out the French are appalled at cannibalism and do not even have a good word for McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken. I think it started with the way they teach their history. Militarism, colonialism, and racism are all prominent ingredients of European history books, particularly British history. For that matter, American history stresses these ingredients also. I have been reading American college history texts and they present an alarmingly ugly view of the Western past.

By presenting the West as repugnant and the other civilizations as our prey, particularly during colonial days but also in modern times, we encourage such social pathologies as jihadism. President Sarkozy says he is not going to tolerate the kind of fundamentalism in France that leads ultimately to jihadism. How is he going to achieve this without calling for a fundamental reform in how French history is taught?

Then there is another matter. All the aforementioned statesmen and women are democrats and espouse democratic values, but there are fashions of thought in the West that do not like democratic values. For want of a better term, they are fashions of thought that follow political correctness. The politically correct do not like free speech. For that matter, the adherents to political correctness do not like many of the values of the West. What are Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Cameron going to do about them? They are going to be even trickier to deal with than the practitioners of jihad.

Fla. Congressman West: Multiculturalism Leads to Political Correctness | On the Record

This is a rush transcript from "On the Record," February 14, 2011. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.

Video:  Rep Allen West at CPAC on Multiculturalism

REP. ALLEN WEST, R-FLA.: I believe that we should celebrate the diversity of the melting pot called America, but never allow multiculturalism to grow on steroids and define itself as making American culture subservient! Because yes, there is a definitive American culture!

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, FOX NEWS HOST: Florida freshman congressman brings down the house at CPAC with his rousing speech. He probably gave many people in the crowd aching feet because they were standing, they were shouting and cheering for him while he closed out the three-day event. Florida congressman Allen West joins us. Good evening, sir.

WEST: Good evening.

VAN SUSTEREN: Boy, you...

WEST: Good to be here.

VAN SUSTEREN: You brought down the house at CPAC.

WEST: Well, we did a little something. I think that was that buzzer that I had in the seats that I kept popping and...

VAN SUSTEREN: The electric one.

WEST: Yes, the electric one, yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: OK, in the speech (INAUDIBLE) sound we just (INAUDIBLE) you talked about defending definitive American culture against "multiculturalism on steroids." And it's about the same time that Prime Minister Cameron in London was saying essentially the same thing in Germany. What do you mean?

WEST: Well, I think it's important that we recognize that there's an American culture. I mean, there's an opening to everyone to come here to this great land. But we want them to be a part of who we are, not trying to make American culture play second fiddle to them, which I think is what you're seeing in London, in Germany, and France and several other places. So that's critical to the sustainment of this American society.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, you also got a standing ovation when you said political correctness has no place in our national security strategy. Are you suggesting that multiculturalism is political correctness? And correct me if I'm wrong. And if that is...

WEST: It leads to it. It does lead to it because I think that we are so afraid of, quote, unquote, "offending" people. So you look at the national strategy. It says nothing about Islamic terrorism, nothing about jihadism, Muslim extremism. All of a sudden, we're calling combat operations "overseas contingency operations." Terrorist attacks are now "man-caused disasters." So I think that when you have leadership that is very afraid of saying that you do have a definitive enemy, that you don't want to offend people, then you kind of lead yourself down a rosy path.

VAN SUSTEREN: How do we -- I mean, where do we draw the line or how do you make the determination because one of the things that's also very enriching is learning different cultures and having friends from different backgrounds or anything. Where do you draw the line between sort of the enrichment of different cultures and the multiculturalism?

WEST: Well, I tell you, for instance, you have a multicultural family. My wife was born and raised in Jamaica, and you know, we celebrate her Jamaican culture, but it's very important that our daughters understand that they are part of a greater United States of America and understanding our history but still being respected to their culture.

And so I think that when you look at all of the different people that come here to this great nation, they come to be part of America. But we have to make sure that we are presenting it as such and that we're proud of them coming here and of them participating in what is called the American dream. But you can't sit back and say there is no language that we want to stand for, there is no definitive belief system that we want to stand up and defend. So I think it's not about losing the respect of others, it is about making sure that we don't lose a sense of who we are.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. You're a freshman congressmen. And a lot of the freshman congressmen are rattling the GOP a little bit over this whole business about budget cuts and how much to slash. What's your view in terms of what to do about the budget?

WEST: Well, it's very simple. When you look at the pledge that they made, it said $100 billion. And it's so important that your credibility is not lost, especially early on. So when they came back to us and they said they want to have a less amount of budget cuts, we said, You can't do that. You made this pledge. You said this is what we're going to go after. And the American people, just the same as Senator John Thune said, it's a spending problem here in Washington, D.C. And you just said, you know, everyone comes up here and says they're going to do this and they're going to do that, and they never do. Well, I think now is the time that we do make that change because you can't tell me what can't be done because I'm not part of a Washington, D.C., establishment. I believe that it can be done.

VAN SUSTEREN: Are your fellow freshmen as sort of passionate about that? Are they going to stand tough with you against sort of the -- the GOP -- like, those who've been here a little bit longer in the House?

WEST: Well, I think it's very important that they do, or else in two years, they'll be going home because they made commitments to the people back in their constituencies, and there's a level of expectation. No one thinks we're going come up here and turn the ship around in the first six months or even a year. But at least we need to start showing the positive indicators that we're not going to fall prey to what you just talked about earlier.

VAN SUSTEREN: So at the end of two years, your first two years -- I assume you'll run -- what do you want to accomplish?

WEST: I want to make sure that we get this fiscal situation under control. I ran on two very basic things, fiscal security and national security. And I think that if we can set the conditions for long-term, sustainable economic growth in this country, we got to make the hard decisions. You're right. We've got to look at the big three entitlement programs.

VAN SUSTEREN: That's not going to be popular.

WEST: Well, you know something? When I was a commander in the Army, there were sometimes you made decisions that weren't popular, but they were based upon the fact you wanted to keep your men alive in combat. So I want to do the things to make sure that the future generations of Americans have the exact same life that I was able to have, that my parents and grandparents left for me.

VAN SUSTEREN: Congressman, thank you. And welcome to Washington.

WEST: Thanks for having me.

VAN SUSTEREN: Nice to see you.

WEST: Absolutely.

Prime  Minister Julia Gillard -  Australia

Muslims  who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the  government targeted radicals in a bid to head off  potential terror attacks…

Separately, Gillard angered  some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she  supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.  Quote:

'IMMIGRANTS,  NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It. I  am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are  offending some individual or their culture. Since the  terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two  centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions  of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish,  Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any  other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of  our society. Learn the language!'

'Most  Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because  Christian men and women, on Christian principles,  founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.  It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of  our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you  consider another part of the world as your new home,  because God is part of our culture.'

'We  will accept your beliefs, and will not question why.  All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and  peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR  COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow  you every opportunity to enjoy all this.  But once you  are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take  advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE  RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you  aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to  come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country  YOU accepted.'

Rumors of War: Catch up on the Middle East crisis

Rumors of War, Mercury’s latest documentary, is available On Demand on Insider Extreme.

The documentary explores the dangers that a nuclear Iran presents to the free world, as well as provides insight into the extremist regime that world leaders will be dealing with as they prepare to begin nuclear talks. The special also examines the Iranian government’s beliefs and history.

For over a year, the filmmakers have been researching and shooting this documentary. They have performed extensive interviews with former high ranking government and military officials who have been a part of top secret strategy sessions regarding the growing threat of a nuclear Iran.

Rumors of War examines the current leadership of Iran, Ahmadenjiad, Khameini, who are part of a radical Muslim sect that believe it is their duty to hasten the return of the 12th Imam,  a Jesus-like figure who will wipe the planet clean of Iran’s enemies, of which Israel and the United States rank 1 and 1a.  They believe, and have stated publically that by initiating worldwide chaos they can bring about his return.

There is irrefutable evidence that they have already taken steps in that direction through terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas – adding nuclear weapons to the equation would literally put the entire world at risk.

“Rumors of War reveals the true threat level a nuclear Iran poses to the United States and the Israel, including ramifications no one to date has talked about.  The documentary reveals what may be the only solution to this grave problem,” producers added.

Muslim Brotherhood Announces Plans to Form Political Party

By LEE KEATH and HAMZA HENDAWI

CAIRO (AP) - Egypt's long banned Muslim Brotherhood said Tuesday it intends to form a political party once democracy is established, as the country's new military rulers launched a panel of experts to amend the country's constitution enough to allow democratic elections later this year.

The panel is to draw up changes at a breakneck pace - within 10 days - to end the monopoly that ousted President Hosni Mubarak's ruling party once held, which it ensured through widespread election rigging. The initial changes may not be enough for many in Egypt calling for the current constitution, now suspended by the military, to be thrown out completely and rewritten to ensure no one can once again establish autocratic rule. Two members on the panel said the next elected government could further change the document if it choses.

The military's choices for the panel's makeup were a sign of the new political legitimacy of the Muslim Brotherhood, the fundamentalist group that was the most bitter rival of Mubarak's regime. Among the panel's members is Sobhi Saleh, a former lawmaker from the Brotherhood seen as part of its reformist wing.

The eight-member committee, which met with Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi on Tuesday, also includes a Christian supreme court judge, along with other judges and legal experts, one of its members Mohammed Hassanein Abdel-Al, a legal scholar told The Associated Press. The panel is headed by Tareq el-Bishri, a widely respected former judge and scholar who was once a secular leftist but later became one of the most foremost thinkers of what Egyptians refer to as the "moderate Islamic" political trend and is seen as a bridge between the movements.

The panel's convening indicated the military was trying to push ahead quickly with a transition after Mubarak resigned Friday in the face of 18 days of unprecedented popular protests that massed hundreds of thousands. The military is now also urging an end to labor strikes that spread wildly across the country Sunday and Monday, unleashed by the turmoil.

The strikes, many hitting state agencies and industries, are a further blow to Egypt's economy, damaged by the three weeks of upheaval. Egypt's Foreign Minster Ahmed Aboul Gheit called on the international community to provide aid to boost Egypt's economy.

Throughout Mubarak's rule, his regime kept a stranglehold on Egyptian politics. Any opposition parties had to be approved by a commission run by his ruling National Democratic Party. The constitution his leadership drew up puts stiff restrictions on who can run for president, effectively preventing a real challenger. It also lifted almost all independent supervision of elections, opening the door to vote rigging that ensured the most recent parliament - now dissolved - was almost entire made up of the NDP.

As a result, the existing political parties are hollow shells, with little public following. The constitution also explicitly bans any parties formed on a religious basis. The Muslim Brotherhood, legally banned for decades, was prevented from forming a party but ran candidates for parliament as independents. In 2005, it made a surprisingly strong showing, winning 20 percent of parliament's seats, but it was pushed out completely in the most recent election in November and December, plagued by fraud.

The Brotherhood announced Tuesday that it would form a party once promised freer laws are in place.

"The Muslim Brotherhood group believes in the freedom of the formation of political parties. They are eager to have a political party," spokesman Mohammed Mursi said in a statement on the Brotherhood website.

Essam el-Arian, a prominent Brotherhood figures, said the movement would not run any candidate for upcoming presidential elections, acknowledging that such a move would be too controversial.

"We are not going to have a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. Its time for solidarity, its time for unity, in my opinion we need a national consensus," he said. But he said the Brotherhood's top leadership had decided on the creation of a party.

The Brotherhood's charter calls for creation of an Islamic state in Egypt, and Mubarak's regime depicted the Brotherhood as aiming to take over the country, launching fierce crackdowns on the group. Some Egyptians remain deeply suspicious of the secretive organization, fearing it will exploit the current turmoil to vault to power.

But others - including the secular, liberal youth activists who launched the anti-Mubarak uprising - say the Brotherhood has to be allowed freedom to compete in a democracy alongside everyone else. Support by young cadres in the Brotherhood was key to the protests' success, providing manpower and organization, though they never came to form a majority in the wave of demonstrations.

The new constitutional panel is mandated to draw up amendments to the current constitution within 10 days to be put to a referendum, paving the way for elections. The military specified six articles to be amended or thrown out "along with changes to any connected articles that the committee deems necessary," according to the military's statement to the panel, read to the Associated Press by Abdel-Al.

"This is a critical moment and things have to be dealt with on a priority basis," he said of the decision to focus on those select articles, which are the main ones imposing restrictions on elections. "This is a preliminary requirement top hold free democratic elections ... our task is to make it feasible for that to happen."

"The future parliament and government can decide whether to make further amendments or rewrite the whole thing," he said.

Saleh, the Brotherhood member on the panel, said the goal was to "cleanse" the constitution to ensure freedom of political parties and other rights ahead of the election. "After the transition to a democratic life and freedoms, parties and political forces can get together and work on a complete constitution," he said.

The Armed Forces Supreme Council, grouping the defense minister and top generals, has vowed to hand over power to an elected civilian government. It has dissolved parliament and suspended the constitution - steps that encouraged protest leaders because both were pillars of the Mubarak regime. But it has kept in place the last government installed by Mubarak as a caretaker until a new one is named.

On Monday, the coalition of activists who organized the protest movement pushed the military for further steps. In a list of demands Monday, they called for the dissolving of Mubarak's National Democratic Party and for the creation of a Cabinet of technocrats within 30 days. They want it to replace the current caretaker government.

"It is unacceptable that the same government which caused this revolution with its corrupt ways oversees the transitional period," said Ziad al-Oleimi, a member of the coalition.

SWISS TV FORECASTS DEFEAT FOR TIGHTER GUN LAW – UPDATE

Video: Farewell to Army? Best-armed Swiss shift opinion to abolish militia

GENEVA (AP) — Swiss television forecasts defeat for a referendum to tighten the Alpine nation’s liberal firearms laws.

National TV station SF predicts 57 percent of voters have rejected the plan in a national ballot Sunday.

It forecasts that 43 percent of voters backed the proposal to ban army rifles from homes and impose new requirements for buying other guns.

Proponents including churches and women‘s groups had favored the plan as a way to reduce domestic violence and Switzerland’s high rate of firearms suicide.

The government says existing laws are sufficient to ensure some 2.3 million mostly military weapons in a country of less than 8 million people aren’t misused.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

GENEVA (AP) — Swiss citizens went to the polls Sunday to decide whether to tighten the Alpine nation’s liberal firearms laws, a move that would abruptly end the long tradition of men keeping army rifles at home even after completing their military service.

Gun clubs and supporters of the country’s distinctive citizen soldier militia fiercely oppose the plan to army rifles in secure storage and impose new requirements for buying other guns.

Proponents see it as a way to reduce domestic violence and Switzerland’s comparatively high rate of firearms suicide.

The government says existing laws are sufficient to ensure some 2.3 million mostly military weapons in a country of less than 8 million people aren’t misused.

The outcome of the nationwide referendum is expected to hinge on the votes of women and young people. In a survey published last month by the respected polling group gfs.bern, a narrow majority of 47 percent expressed support for the proposal, with 45 percent opposed. About 8 percent of voters were undecided, according to a telephone poll of 1,209 voters.

Voters leaving a polling station in Geneva largely supported the proposal.

“I think it’s a good thing to limit the circulation of weapons,” said Hugo Zbinden, a physicist and member of the Green Party.

But he conceded that even if a majority of Swiss vote in favor of the plan, the measure could fail to win the backing of a majority the country’s 26 cantons, or states.

“Many of the smaller conservative cantons will probably vote against it,” said Zbinden.

Doctors, churches and women’s groups launched the campaign to force ex-soldiers to store their military-issued firearms in secure army depots. They also want the Swiss government to establish a national gun registry and ban the sale of fully automatic weapons and pump action rifles.

Gun enthusiasts say limiting the right to bear arms in a country that cherishes the national myth of William Tell and citizen preparedness against possible invasion by hostile neighbors

Dora Andres, president of the Swiss Sport Shooting Association, told The Associated Press this week that the measure could kill off many of Switzerland’s 3,000 gun clubs, which she said were a pillar of community life in many villages.

Both sides have used graphic images to make their point, with proponents producing posters showing teddy bears oozing blood below the slogan “Protect families.” Opponents‘ posters have featured muscular cartoon criminals threatening the nation’s law-abiding citizens.

About a quarter of Switzerland’s 1,300 suicides each year involved a gun, according to federal statistics. The exact number of military-issued weapons involved is disputed, but those calling for tighter rules claim they account for between 100 and 200 suicides a year, mostly among men.

Advocates for the new law also note that since Switzerland cut the size of its army in 2004, the number of firearms suicides among men aged 30-40 has been cut in half.

It is not known how many military-issued guns are involved in homicides each year, though Switzerland’s gun murder rate is relatively low — just 24 in 2009, or about 0.3 firearms homicides per 100,000 inhabitants. By comparison, the U.S. rate in 2007 was 4.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.

First results were expected shortly after polls closed at noon (1100 GMT).

Swiss papers said voters had stuck with tradition

Gun vote “was about national identity”

Swiss stick to their guns in weapons vote

Switzerland upheld its reputation for having one of the most liberal yet lethal firearms laws in Europe yesterday after voters overwhelmingly rejected proposals that would have obliged some two million gun owners in the country to keep their weapons in public arsenals rather than at home.

Official results from a national referendum on gun control showed that more than half of Switzerland's 26 cantons voted against an initiative which aimed to ban army rifles from households in an attempt to reduce domestic shootings and a record number of suicides involving firearms.

Swiss soldiers have been encouraged to keep their rifles at home after leaving the forces under a national defence policy introduced during the Second World War. The practice is seen as a symbol of the trust the state invests in the Alpine country's largely conscript army.

Yesterday Switzerland's conservative politicians welcomed the outcome, saying it demonstrated the nation's reluctance to end a practice that upheld the traditions of its folk hero, William Tell. "This is an important sign of confidence in our soldiers," said Pius Segmüller, a Christian Democrat MP and a former member of the Swiss Vatican Guard.

A gun ban was strongly opposed by the populist, right-wing Swiss People's Party, which organised a referendum last year banning minaret building at mosques. Shooting club owners had complained that the law would have destroyed many of the country's 3,000 gun clubs, which function as key social centres in hundreds of villages.

The result amounted to a serious blow to Switzerland's nascent gun control lobby. It had banked on a high turnout by women voters to get its initiative approved. But results showed that only the cities of Basel and Geneva and a few French-speaking cantons bucked the national trend.

Social Democrat and Green women MPs said that they were disappointed by the low turnout among women. "Women in Switzerland have only had the vote for the past 40 years, but they aren't getting involved in politics even when it concerns them," complained Martine Brunschwig-Graf, a Social Democrat politician.

The gun control lobby, which includes doctors, churches and suicide prevention groups, launched their "weapons initiative" campaign four years ago in an attempt to make it illegal for ex-soldiers and reservists to keep guns at home. Their aim was to ensure that the weapons were kept in arsenals and retrievable only for training or in case of war.

Switzerland has the highest rate of gun suicide in Europe, with around 300 self-inflicted deaths each year involving a firearm. There have also been a number of high-profile killings. Swiss skiing star Corinne Rey-Bellet was shot dead by her estranged husband in 2006. One mass shooting involved a commercial version of the Swiss army's SG 550 semi-automatic assault rifle.

There is no national firearms register in Switzerland. However unofficial estimates suggest there are between 2 million and 3 million guns kept in Swiss households.

Gun-control campaigners had argued that a ban on guns in the home would lead to a dramatic reduction in gun suicides and in the number of guns being used in domestic disputes. "If you make guns less accessible, then there will be fewer suicides involving guns, it is as simple as that," said Elsa Kurz, spokeswoman for Switzerland's Stop Suicide campaign.

The government banned gun owners from keeping live ammunition at home in 2008. In the run up to the vote it argued that in a country with a population of eight million, existing laws.

SHOCK CHARGE: CPAC ‘COMPROMISED BY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ACTIVIST’

TPM:

Pamela Geller, the most vocal of the activists opposed to the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque” to be built two blocks from the former site of the World Trade Center, said Friday that the Conservative Political Action Conference she was speaking at had itself been “corrupted” and “compromised by Muslim Brotherhood activists.”

Speaking at a non-official CPAC event on Friday afternoon, Geller said that many members of the board of the American Conservative Union had to go because they were allowing the event to be infiltrated by Muslim Brotherhood activists.

“If you look at the agenda of CPAC, look at all of the panels and then look at your daily news headlines, they’re either clueless or complicit,” Geller said. “And I’m telling you that before you throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are 12,000 people that come to this event that don‘t know they’ve been completely sold out by CPAC leadership. We have to take CPAC back, you can’t create this again.”

DARING THE YOUTH TO PROTEST, IRAN BANS VALENTINES DAY!

Egypt‘s revolt has been credited to an energized and organized population of it’s very young citizens.  With more than half of the country under the age of 30, and 40% of that demographic unemployed, the potential for social unrest should have seemed obvious to intelligence sources. Apparently it wasn’t.  Now hop over to Iran where it is estimated that a staggering 70% of all Iranians are under 30 and a “day of rage” is being planned for Monday, Valentines Day AND just last month the government banned the production of anything to do with Valentines Day in Iran, stating;

“Printing and producing any products related to Valentine’s Day, including posters, brochures, advertising cards, boxes with the symbols of hearts, half-hearts, red roses and any activities promoting this day are banned,” read the instruction. “Authorities will take legal action against those who ignore the ban.”

Coincidence?    I think not.

Saturday’s Wall Street Journal Op-Ed piece from Melik Kaylan boils it down for us;

The Iranian state has pronounced against unauthorized mingling of the sexes, rap music, rock music, Western music, women playing in bands, too-bright nail polish, laughter in hospital corridors, ancient Persian rites-of-spring celebrations (Nowrooz), and even the mention of foreign food recipes in state media. This last may sound comically implausible, but it was officially announced by a state-run website on Feb. 6. So now the true nature of pasta as an instrument of Western subversion has been revealed.

The regime’s posture turns the smallest garden-variety gestures into thrilling acts of subversion. Slipping a Valentine card to a girlfriend takes on the significance of samizdat. Every firecracker set off during Nowrooz diminishes the police state’s claims to omniscience. The mullahs have appointed themselves the enemy of fun; as a result, wherever fun herniates into view, it is a politicized irruption of defiance.

Pre-Revolution Iran was quite different than the country seen today.  Tehran was teeming with designer boutiques and at night the discos were thumping and packed with beautiful people from all over the globe, dancing the nights away.  Then came the Ayatollah Khomeini and his mullahs, changing the cosmopolitan country into fundamentalist Islamic state. Party over.  At least the “anything Western” party was over.

Well sir, 30 years have passed and much like Egypt, a young population is hungry for change. Following the contested and corrupt elections of 2009, Iran’s streets were filled with protests for days until government thugs managed to beat down any resistance.  Today we learned that Iran senses that Monday’s planned “Day of Rage” may cause the regime problems, so they have begun shutting down parts of the Internet and monitoring email, and social media.

(CNN) — Iranian authorities have blocked the word “Bahman” — the 11th month of the Persian calendar — from Internet searches within the country, according to an opposition website.

The measure appears to be an effort by Iranian authorities to obstruct access to several websites that are promoting a rally on Monday — the 25th day of Bahman — proposed by Iranian opposition leaders in support of the uprising in Egypt, Saham News reported Saturday.

Did anyone else just get an “uh-oh, here we go again” feeling?

Obama’s Pal George Soros and the Fall of Egypt

President Obama’s pal, George Soros, has his fingerprints all over the events unfolding in Egypt. Expelling Mubarak from Egypt creates a pathway to destroy Israel and it’s no secret that Soros fiercely opposes Israel.

Toppling governments through manufactured riots is old hat for Soros and, as he said, it was “a lot of fun.” Soros funds hundreds of far-left organizations, so there’s no doubt he has the resources, expertise and manpower to manufacture a revolution. Anyone paying attention knows that Soros and Obama work together and they would certainly collaborate on this coup.

We already know that American radicals like Code Pink and other anti-American communist and socialist groups have been working on the ground in Egypt. We also know that lame-stream media is falsely portraying the uprising to benefit the Obama persona. Does anyone in the Middle East think there’s something fishy going on? Let’s go to Turkey…

What do the Turks really think about the uprising?

… the sentiment among Turks, one interlocutor suggested, was that there was something really fishy about those Egyptian protests: I mean, Arabs couldn’t organize their way out of paper bag, so it must be the Americans behind it.

Or George Soros.

Another friend said, “We’ve been suffering just like the Egyptians, and when did the Arabs ever protest for us?” Still another said, “It can’t really be the Egyptians behind that, it has to be the United States. Nothing happens in this region without the United States’ permission.” Her implication: “We’re not fools. We’re not going out in the streets to do the Americans’ bidding.”

Something else that’s really fishy… has anyone wondered why the rioters in Egypt have carried out so many attacks on journalists?

Harming journalists is counter to a storyline that “the Egyptian people want Democracy.” If these were ordinary citizens of Egypt rising up for a new and better form of government, wouldn’t they welcome reporting of their plight?

Instill fear in journalists and the questions won’t be asked and answered and we won’t learn the truth about who these rioters really are and who organized them. Are they Muslim/Communist/Socialist rioters who want revolution so that the radical Muslim Brotherhood can take control of Egypt and its advanced weaponry in order to defeat Israel? Is this what George Soros and Barack Obama want? Looks like it.

There’s a clear indication that the rioting is manufactured and White House visitor, George Soros, is involved. Despite the risk to Israel and America, Obama is anxious for Mubarak to leave and he believes the Muslim Brotherhood opposition should be represented in the coming presidential election.

Aside from Obama’s inclusion of Muslim Brotherhood members here in America, are there any other connections that bring us to Egypt with a connection to Soros? Yes, there are.

Soros and Obama have an influential, ground-engaged connection in Egypt – Saad Eddin Ibrahim.

Human rights activist Saad Eddin Ibrahim sought funding from Soros’ Open Society Institute (OSI) in May of 2003 and OSI’s website contains a summary of their OSI Forum: “The Battle for Civil Society in Egypt – Freed Reformist Sees Hope for Islamic Democracies”:

"At a recent open forum of the Open Society Institute in New York, Dr. Ibrahim called for a “coalition of the conscientious” to oppose both invasion and dictatorship, and said such a coalition could seize desire in Muslim-majority countries for real democracy. After hosting roundtables over the summer, he hopes to build a media network to tap that desire within 12 months. “We don’t have comparative advantage [against madrassas and extremists], we have only access to the elite intelligentsia through our newsletter,” he told EurasiaNet in a telephone interview after the forum. “We can reach thousands or tens of thousands. We need millions.” (Dr. Ibrahim has appealed for funding from the Soros Foundations Network, which funds EurasiaNet.)…"

Nearly a year ago (May of 2010), Saad Ibrahim called for defiance and civil disobedience in Egypt as the means to achieve transformation. Ibrahim expressed disappointment that President Obama had not yet followed through with the transformation in Egypt. Ibrahim voiced his support for ElBaradei and Muslim rule in Egypt. See the video here.

Ibrahim is the founder and board member of Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies. On his website, Ibrahim shows his support for Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed El-Baradei. Ibrahim described ElBaradei as “my first choice for the presidency” at a conference in September 2010.

The fall of Egypt into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood would ensure war with Israel and would place America at risk. Is this the outcome Obama and his pal George Soros seek? Let’s explore whether Soros has done anything else to harm Israel.

When the UN (Judge Goldstone) issued a report alleging war crimes against Israel, a September 30, 2010 Washington Times article states, “Benjamin Netanyahu, famously said last year that Israel faces three major threats — “the Iranian nuclear program, rockets aimed at our civilians, and Goldstone” — while its president, Shimon Peres, said that the report “gives de facto legitimacy to terrorist initiatives and ignores the obligation and right of every country to defend itself.”

Judge Goldstone was involved with George Soros and OSI, and notice that J-Street and NAF receive funds from Soros’ OSI. Here’s more…

“Judge Goldstone told The Times in an interview that he had sought the meetings after a discussion with longtime friend Morton H. Halperin — president of the Open Society Institute (OSI) and one of five senior officers at J Street, according to the group’s federal tax returns. Those forms list Mr. Halperin as a “director,” and say he spends 10 hours a week on J Street business.

“He suggested — and I agreed — that it would be a good idea for me to meet with some of the leading members of Congress,” Judge Goldstone said. “I thought it was important to correct the misimpressions.” He added that Mr. Halperin had hand-delivered a personal letter he had written to members of Congress.

Judge Goldstone said he remembers attending “10 or 12” meetings. J Street co-founder Daniel Levy, who accompanied the judge to several of the parleys, said that the New America Foundation (NAF) — whose Middle East Task Force he co-chairs — had also hosted a lunch with Judge Goldstone for “a group of analysts and Middle East wonks.” The judge, Mr. Levy, and J Street all declined to identify the members of Congress.

All three organizations associated with Judge Goldstone‘s visit to Washington — J Street, NAF and OSI — receive substantial funding from Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros, a fierce critic of AIPAC and Israeli policies.

OSI controls nearly $2 billion in assets provided by Mr. Soros over the years. NAF, in turn, received $855,000 from OSI in 2009, though the money was not set aside for the think tank’s Middle East program. The Times disclosed last week that J Street had received $750,000 from Mr. Soros and his family despite repeated denials from the group that it had received any funding from Mr. Soros in the past…"

Summing up, George Soros is connected to President Obama, Saad Ibrahim, Judge Goldstone and America’s far-left anti-Israel and anti-American organizations. It appears the violent revolutionaries in Egypt may be nothing short of radical Muslims organized by America’s far-left, supported by Obama and Soros and who are on a mission to destroy Israel and increase harm to the United States of America. (Egypt controls the trade route through the Suez Canal; America is directly at risk.)

It’s clear the lame-stream media is full of nothing but spin and ideological rhetoric, not investigative reporting. What’s needed now is a Congressional investigation to reveal the truth before it’s too late.

We Are Witnessing the Collapse of the Middle East

Another perspective to consider:

No we are witnessing the formation of the Middle East region of the New World Order. If they pull it off. This is not a Muzzie uprising. It is orchestrated by the Bilderbergers and CFR. Most Muzzies are scratching their heads wondering what the hell is going on.

We Are Witnessing the Collapse of the Middle East
American Thinker ^ | February 3, 2011 | James Simpson

If Egypt should fall, it will mark the beginning of the end for what little remaining stability there is in the Middle East.  Jordan is facing similar unrest, as are Algeria and Yemen.  Lebanon and Tunisia fell in January.  It is highly unlikely that these events are unrelated.  A combination of leftist and Islamist forces provoked the protests, and we are likely looking at a ring of radical Islamic states rising up to surround Israel.  Once their power is solidified, perhaps in a year or two, they will combine forces to attack Israel.  If Israel falls, the United States will stand alone in a sea of virulent enemies and impotent allies.

So whom does Obama support, Mubarak or his enemies?

Obama wasted no time in telling us.  He supports Mubarak's opponents, and he probably has been all along.  The Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday that the Obama administration favors a rolefor the Muslim Brotherhood in a new Egyptian government.

The Muslim Brotherhood, the oldest extremist Muslim organization, is behind practically every Muslim terrorist organization ever formed.  And while they may have publicly renounced violence as the LA Times article claims, internal documents tell a completely different story.

And if that weren't bad enough, Obama's latest comment to Egypt's leader is that "an orderly transition ... must begin now."

Must begin.  Now.

Simply stunning.

Juxtapose Obama's statements toward our allies with his reaction to the genuine uprising that occurred last year in Iran.  Tunisia: "Reform or be overthrown."  Egypt: "an orderly transition ... must begin now."  Iran: "It is not productive ... to be seen as meddling."  Meanwhile, candidate Obama claimed that the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezb'allah have "legitimate claims," and we all remember his mindless counterterrorism czar, John Brennan, reaching out to "moderate" Hezb'allah members last spring.  Hezb'allah moderates?

The seeming inconsistency is astonishing.  Unfortunately, there is a consistency.  Obama uniformly sides with our enemies but rarely, if ever, with our friends and allies.  His administration is packed with far-left radicals and vicious anti-Semites.  And therein lies the rub, because what we are witnessing in reality is this president's un-American, anti-American, treasonous ideology in full play.

Perhaps this is the real reason for Bill Ayers's, Bernardine Dohrn's, Code Pink's Medea Benjamin's and Jody Evans's trips to Egypt in 2009.  Following those trips, these same people made multiple visits to the White House.

Obama's breathlessly arrogant answer?  Not the same Ayers, Dohrn, Benjamin, and Evans.  Sure.

A few years back, I cited a quote by Lynn Stewart, the National Lawyers Guild attorney jailed for helping blind sheikh Omar Adel Raman foment terror from his New York jail cell.  One might think that atheistic radical leftists would be foursquare against a political movement that tramples women's rights, murders homosexuals, and enforces strict theocratic mandates.  No such luck, Stewart said:

They [radical Islamic movements] are basically forces of national liberation. And I think that we, as persons who are committed to the liberation of oppressed people, should fasten on the need for self-determination. ... My own sense is that, were the Islamists to be empowered, there would be movements within their own countries ... to liberate.

" ... movements within their own countries ... to liberate."  Given recent developments, Stewart's statement was prescient.  But I think it had a special meaning.  Because when movement leftists like Stewart talk about "liberation," they are really talking about communism.

It has been my longstanding assertion that Muslim terrorism is simply a false flag operation, managed in the background by our main enemies, Russia and Red China.  Almost since the beginning, Muslim terrorist organizations have been supported and nurtured by the Soviet Union or its Middle Eastern surrogates.

Yasser Arafat's PLO is a prime example.  Created by the KGB, the PLO was always about providing a Soviet counterweight to Israel in the Middle East.  They were uninterested in the Palestinian cause, and they said so!  Alexander Litvinenko, the KGB defector poisoned by Polonium 210 in what was assumed to be a KGB hit, claimed in his book, Allegations, that al-Qaeda's number two man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was a Soviet agent.  And while today Hezb'allah is the de facto ruler of Lebanon, the real power is Ba'athist Syria.

David Horowitz wrote of the alliance between leftists and Muslim terrorists in his seminal book: Unholy Alliance

: Radical Islam and the American Left.  He describes in detail how the left and Muslim radicals work together to achieve their mutual ends: the destruction of America.

It is incomprehensible that President Obama does not recognize the strategic significance of what is happening, and if he does, then his support of Egypt's sham "democracy movement" is a naked betrayal of our Middle Eastern allies and, by extension, our own country.

Unfortunately, his view is shared by some Republicans who are so in love with the idea of "democracy" that it doesn't matter to them that the "democrats" in this case include fanatic mass murderers.  At best, it can be seen only as incredibly myopic and ignorant to support Mubarak's enemies.  People make the same mistake Carter did with Iran and Nicaragua: they commit the logical error of assuming that just because a country's current leadership is flawed and "undemocratic," that automatically means that someone else would do better.  Newsflash: they can do worse, and almost without exception, they do, because people who take power by street riot have no interest in "democracy."

If their street revolutions are successful, these Middle Eastern countries will rapidly degenerate into radical Muslim thugocracies allied with our communist enemies.  Israel will be the first target, and with Obama's radically anti-Israel orientation, the Israelis will stand alone.  We will be next.  One wonders if Obama will then stand to defend the country he swore to, or if he will be out in the streets with his fellow radical leftists burning American flags.

  • At 83, died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence along with John Adams

Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government.  He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man.  That happens to be way more than what most understand today.  Jefferson really knew his stuff.  A voice from the past to lead us in the future:

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe . …Thomas Jefferson
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.   …Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.  A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. ... Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. …Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. …Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.     …Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. …Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.  If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

I wish we could get this out to everyone!!!

Egypt now fears Obama a 'Manchurian President'

'They are trying to understand why he is acting against U.S. interests'

Posted: February 02, 2011 -8:43 pm Eastern © 2011 WorldNetDaily

LISBON, PORTUGAL - NOVEMBER 20: U.S. President Barack Obama speaks to the media during a press conference on day two of the NATO summit at Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) on November 20, 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal. The two day summit will address issues including a new strategic concept for NATO. Britain and the US will also seek an agreement to hand over responsibility for security in Afghanistan to local forces over the next four years. (Photo by Sean Gallup/Getty Images)

Top members of the Egyptian government say they feel betrayed by President Obama, charging that he is acting against American interests.

"Mubarak's regime feels Obama is pushing the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood against U.S. interests," said WND's Jerusalem bureau chief and senior reporter Aaron Klein. "They are genuinely trying to understand why Obama is seemingly championing the anti-regime protests."

Klein said that a top Egyptian diplomat with whom he has developed a rapport over the last few years asked him earlier this week to explain Obama's motivation to support the opposition to Mubarak.

"I told him none of this should be a surprise," said Klein, "that the Obama administration has developed an extensive relationship over the last few years with allies of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Get the comprehensive probe that exposes Obama's Marxist, anti-American past – and present, in "Manchurian President."

"That my investigating has proven that Obama has been closely associated throughout his political career with radical-left elements who have long petitioned for policies many believe are aimed at weakening the American enterprise both domestically and internationally."

"The Egyptian diplomat seemed surprised," said Klein. "I told him this material was thoroughly documented in my latest book."

The diplomat requested 20 copies of Klein's New York Times bestselling book investigating Obama,"The Manchurian President: Barack Obama's ties to communists, socialists, and other anti-American extremists."

The diplomat said he would deliver the book, which was co-authored by Brenda J. Elliott, to senior officials in Mubarak's embattled government.

Obama in recent days urged Mubarak to give up power in Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood forms the main opposition.

Mubarak has been a staunch U.S. ally and a recipient of billions of dollars in military aid. His regime has long been considered a stabilizing force in the Arab world.

The Obama administration's support for the unrest is strikingly reminiscent of Jimmy Carter's support of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, which marked the birth of modern Islamist expansion.

(Story continues below)

Some Muslim clerics are already calling the riots in Egypt simply an extension of 1979's Islamist conquests.

"Thirty-one years after the victory of the Islamic Republic, we are faced with the obvious fact that these movements are the aftershocks of the Islamic revolution," said Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, as reported by Iran's Radio Zamaneh. "The fate of those who challenge [our] religion is destruction."

Speaking of media and government leaders, Khatami added, "They want to highlight the labor, liberal and democratic issues, but the most important issue, which is the religious streak of these protests, [is] being denied."

The leader of Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood, Hammam Saeed, warned that the unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast until Arabs succeed at toppling leaders allied with the United States.

"The Americans and Obama must be losing sleep over the popular revolt in Egypt," Saeed said at a sympathy protest held outside the Egyptian Embassy in Amman. "Now, Obama must understand that the people have woken up and are ready to unseat the tyrant leaders who remained in power because of U.S. backing."

And on the Internet, the Middle East Media Research Institute reports, prominent Salafi cleric Abu Mundhir Al-Shinqiti issued a fatwa on the website Minbar Al-Tawhid Wal Jihad encouraging the protests in Egypt, claiming Islamist jihadis are now on the verge of a historic moment, an "earthquake" he likened to the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City.

Obama pushes Egyptian 'reform'

According to a senior Egyptiandiplomatspeaking to WND, a former U.S. ambassador to Egypt, Frank Wisner, specifically told Mubarak on Tuesday the U.S. would not continue to support his rule and he must step down.

Hours later, Mubarak announced he would not seek another term in office.

The Obama administration dispatched Wisner to Egypt last weekend to report to the State Department and White House a general sense of the situation in the country.

WND broke the story yesterday that the Egyptian government has information Wisner secretly met earlier this week with a senior leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Issam El-Erian.

The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to spread Islam around the world, in large part using nonviolent means. Hamas and al-Qaida are violent Brotherhood offshoots.

Muslim Brotherhood declares war on U.S.

Prominent U.S. commentators also have been claiming the Muslim Brotherhood is a moderate organization and denying there is any Islamist plot to seize power.

Last Friday, President George W. Bush's former press spokeswoman, Dana Perino, told Fox News, "Don't be afraid of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. This has nothing to do with religion."

Bruce Reidel, a former CIA analyst and adviser to President Obama, wrote a Daily Beast article in which he claimed, "The Egyptian Brotherhood renounced violence years ago. … Its relative moderation has made it the target of extreme vilification by more radical Islamists."

Reidel's assertion the Brotherhood renounced violence, however, is contradicted by its own statements in recent months, including a call to arms against the West.

In November, the Brotherhood's new supreme guide, Muhammad Badi, delivered a sermon entitled "How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny."

"Resistance is the only solution," stated Badi. "The United States cannot impose an agreement upon the Palestinians, despite all the power at its disposal. [Today] it is withdrawing from Iraq, defeated and wounded, and is also on the verge of withdrawing from Afghanistan because it has been defeated by Islamist warriors."

Badi went on to declare the U.S. is easy to defeat through violence, since it is "experiencing the beginning of its end and is heading toward its demise."

Barry Rubin, director of the Global Research in International Affairs Center, noted Badi's speech showed "the likelihood that more Brotherhood supporters in the West will turn to violence and fund-raising for terrorism."

Frank Gaffney, president of the American Center for Security Policy, takes it a step further.

"In short, the Muslim Brotherhood – whether it is operating in Egypt, elsewhere in the world or here – is our enemy," he wrote.

Obama quietly builds ties to Muslim Brotherhood

Klein reported for WND yesterday that Obama and top administration officials have troubling relationships with the Muslim Brotherhood and its worldwide allies.

Muslim Brotherhood members were reportedly invited to attend Obama's 2009 address to the Muslim world from Cairo. Khaled Hamza, editor of the Muslim Brotherhood website, confirmed at the time that 10 members of the Brotherhood's parliamentary bloc received official invitations to attend Obama's historic speech.

Also in 2009, the Egyptian daily newspaper Almasry Alyoum ran a report claiming Obama had met with U.S. and European-based representatives of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood that year

According to the report, the Brotherhood members requested that news of the meeting not be publicized. They expressed to Obama their support for democracy and the war on terror.

The newspaper also reported Brotherhood members communicated to Obama their position that they would abide by all agreements Egypt has signed with foreign countries, implying that if they took power in Egypt they would continue that country's peace treaty with Israel.

Besides contact with the Muslim Brotherhood itself, there have been reports the past two years of behind-the-scenes contact with Hamas, which was founded as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas maintains a close alliance with the Brotherhood; the Brotherhood's new leader, Muhammad Badi, serves as a de facto lead spiritual guide for Hamas.

Top leaders of Hamas in Gaza claimed to WND several times they passed messages to Obama through dignitaries who visited the Gaza Strip, including Jimmy Carter and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., – both of whom have a close relationship with the White House.

Kerry, for example, reportedly accepted a letter for Obama from Hamas leaders in Gaza during a February 2009 visit to U.N. installations in the coastal territory.

U.N. relief agency chief in Gaza Karen Abu Zayd told the BBC the Hamas letter had been received by his agency and passed on to an unnamed American official.

In November, 2008,WND first quoted Hamas officials stating they would be sending a letter to Obama.

Immediately after that month's elections, Ahmed Yousef , Hamas' chief political adviser in Gaza, called Obama's win a "historic victory" for the world and told WND that Hamas was sending a letter of congratulation to the president-elect.

Obama ties to Brotherhood's U.S. allies

It is not just Obama's reported contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood and the group's allies in the Middle East that are of concern.

The Obama administration also has evidenced a working relationship with several U.S.-based Islamist organizations that are listed by the Brotherhood as "likeminded" organizations.

One such group is the Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA, a radical Muslim group that was an unindicted co-conspirator in a scheme to raise money for Hamas.

ISNA was named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document – "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America" – as one of the Brotherhood's likeminded "organizations of our friends" who shared the common goal of transforming countries into Muslim nations.

The White House relationship with ISNA began even before Obama took office. One week before the presidential inauguration, Sayyid Syeed, national director of the ISNA Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances, was part of a delegation that met with the directors of Obama's transition team. The delegation discussed a request for an executive order ending "torture."

ISNA President Ingrid Mattson represented American Muslims at Obama's inauguration, where she offered a prayer during the televised event.

Mattson also has represented ISNA at Obama's annual Ramadan dinners, including the last such event in which Obama announced support for the rights of Muslims to build an Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks.

In June 2009, Obama's top aide, Valerie Jarrett, invited Mattson to work on the White House Council on Women and Girls, which Jarrett leads.

That July, the Justice Department sponsored an information booth at an ISNA bazaar in Washington, D.C.

Also that month, Jarrett addressed ISNA's 46th annual convention. According to the White House, Jarrett attended as part of Obama's outreach to Muslims.

ISNA sponsored a February 2010 question-and-answer session in which Obama's top adviser on counter-terrorism, John Brennan, came under fire for controversial remarks to Muslim law students.
