This week’s winner, Joshuapundit’sThe Coup In Egypt And Why It’s Important looks at one of those ‘little rebellions’ , what it means and yes, why it’s very, very important. Here’s a slice:
The military coup in Egypt is pretty much a done deal. Former president Morsi’s in jail, along with the real people who were pulling the strings, the top figures from the Muslim Brotherhood including its chief Mohammed Badie and his deputy Khairat el-Shater.
So why is this important? To put that together, we have to get into the back story on what happened. Thanks to the Lil’ Birdies, I have some new details on how the whole deal went down.
The Egyptian Army is not like the U.S. Army. Like China’s PLA, it owns farms, companies and private businesses that are often staffed by conscripts.
A lot of the ‘military aid’ from us goes to the army directly to fund these enterprises.
Morsi had purged a number of the top generals of the Egyptian military and replaced them with men whop were either fellow Islamists or apolitical.. or so he thought. With the Muslim Brotherhood government receiving support and patronage from President Obama, Morsi figured he had the Army under his thumb.
One of his appointments, as defense minister and chief of the Army was General Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, a former junior member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), the junta that ruled Egypt until the Brotherhood took over.
As Egypt’s economy spiraled out of control, Morsi and his Brotherhood allies began leaning heavily on al-Sissi and the military to eliminate a number of their prerogatives and to transfer most of the military aid they receive back to the government, so the government could use it for their own purposes.
Morsi and the Brotherhood were fairly certain that they would be able to put the squeeze on al-Sissi with President Obama’s help. They were wrong.
This time, Al-Sissi and the other generals decided to call Obama’s bluff. They realized that giving in to Obama and Morsi would lead to them losing any vestige of independence and freedom they had, and since Morsi was already poised to take their aid money away they had nothing to lose anyway. In the end, al-Sissi and his fellow general’s first loyalty was to Egypt and the army, not the Brotherhood.
Not only that, but not only had Morsi and the Brotherhood become deeply unpopular, so had President Obama. The Egyptian street was very much familiar with Obama’s role in putting the Brotherhood in power and keeping them there.
Once the decision was made, the coup proceeded smoothly, without any hesitation from the army generals or the soldiers under their command.
So what does this mean? Why is it important?
Today’s events amounted to a tremendous loss of prestige for the genocidal Muslim Brotherhood. It was one thing to be the romantic opposition, operate a few soup kitchens, schools and clinics and tell everyone that if only Mubarak was out and they were in power, they would bring true greatness and prosperity to Egypt by following Allah’s divine sharia-licious path.
But when they finally got in power, things were different. They were almost as corrupt, far more dictatorial and brutal and far more incompetent than Mubarak ever was. They will not be trusted with power for years, if ever. And their loss extends to other countries aside from Egypt, like Jordan, Libya, the rest of the Maghreb and the Arabian Peninsula. Egypt was the Muslim Brotherhood’s chance to show that their version of a Sunni Islamist state could work. They failed miserably, and not only did they lose Egypt but they did major damage to the Caliphate President Obama and his administration were trying so desperately to put together in the Arab World. People who were prepared to put the Islamists in power are now looking at what happened in Egypt are having second thoughts.

It details exactly why so many efforts to export democracy to countries in the Muslim World without a history and tradition of democratic institutions fail. Barack Hussein Obama cracked a joke at the White House Correspondents Dinner the other day when he said, “I’m not the strapping young Muslim socialist I used to be.” The correspondents who worked for the Democrat Party rolled in laughter. Really, Barry? After you wrote about being mentored for 10 years by a card-carrying Communist named Frank Marshall Davis before you went off to college I would never have guessed you were a socialist. And after you were enrolled in school in Indonesia as a Muslim where you learned to appreciate the sound of the Muslim call to prayers 5 times a day and to read and recite the Qur’an in fluent Arabic, I would never have guessed you were a Muslim. And if you still are a Muslim you must be a very special one who enjoys privileges that no other Muslim enjoys, because as you know Islam demands that homosexuals be condemned to death and if you are no longer a Muslim you also know Islam demands that those who convert to another religion from Islam become Apostates and they also are condemned to death.
One day later in the midst of simmering crises in all corners of the globe, within an hour after an obscure NBA player named Jason Collins made the announcement that he was a homosexual, Barack Hussein Obama felt it necessary to telephone him and congratulate him for his courage. One can only wonder if that telephone conversation was just another joke, a la William Shakespeare, and if it was, did Barry Soetoro //aka// Barack Hussein Obama also tell Jason Collins, “I wish I had your courage.”
This story follows the infamous Newsweek magazine cover in May 2012 and Obama’s famous girly-man pitch at the opening of the baseball season a few years back. But it also follows some very dark accusations from a homosexual drug dealer from Chicago named Larry Sinclair who revealed that he had a sexual relationship with him while Obama was in the Illinois legislature. Oh, and then there was the murder of the homosexual choir director, Donald Young, at Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago shortly before Obama started his presidential campaign and the allegations about the gay men’s bath house, and so on and so on. It all just suggests that some people were cleaning up some unsavory details to make their candidate look squeaky clean. And when you think about what details they didn’t clean up it makes the mess left behind look even more dirty. But now that Obama doesn’t have to worry about his next election he has no reasons to avoid the truth.
An NBA player coming out of the closet as gay. Wait, there’s more:
A groundbreaking pronouncement from NBA veteran Jason Collins — “I’m gay” — reverberated Monday through Washington, generating accolades from lawmakers on Twitter and a supportive phone call from President Barack Obama.
Hours after Collins disclosed his sexuality in an online article, Obama reached out by phone, expressing his support and telling Collins he was impressed by his courage, the White House said.
Collins, 34, becomes the first active player in one of four major U.S. professional sports leagues to come out as gay. He has played for six teams in 12 seasons, including this past season with the Washington Wizards, and is now a free agent.
Fox News reported a story this morning about next week’s issue of Newsweek magazine. By some accidental quirk did Newsweek let the cat out of the bag when they called Barack Hussein Obama, ‘The First Gay President’? Fox News ran their story with this headline:
WASHINGTON – Following President Barack Obama’s public announcement backing gay marriage last week, Newsweek magazine has featured him on its front cover with the headline, “The First Gay President.
What else can one say after seeing our Great Leader throw out the opening pitch of the baseball season and tossing the ball like a girl? The cover story in Newsweek was all about the recent announcement by Barack Hussein Obama coming out in favor of same sex marriage. But there may be another side to the story. A much darker side that some people went to great lengths to cover up. Newsweek’s slip of the lip may help to re-invigorate some interest in those old stories from Chicago that involved gay sex, cocaine and murder. There were lots of rumors in Chicago from the 1990′s time period about a young Illinois politician named Barack Hussein Obama having very close contacts with certain homosexuals and drug dealers. And some unsavory attempts to cover it up.
Maybe we need to reexamine the accusations of one Larry Sinclair, from Chicago. You probably don’t remember him, he was buried by the news media. Read these two excerpts, below, from a 2009 story posted on Canada Free Press:
Sinclair asserts that he met Obama twice in 1999. Their rendezvous was orchestrated by limo driver, Jagir Multani. Sinclair avers that Multani may have been in the United States illegally. Sinclair alleges that Obama smoked crack cocaine and directed Sinclair to administer a Lewinsky—which Sinclair obliged. According to Sinclair, the following day Obama materialized at Sinclair’s hotel to solicit supplementary Lewinskyization. That was the entirety of their affair, per Sinclair. Expecting to be serviced with no impulse to reciprocate is certainly consistent with Obama’s consummate narcissism.
If Obama habitually enjoyed these sorts of trysts, we would presume others witnesses would surface. To date, no one else has gone public with comparable reports. Maybe the late Donald Young, choir director at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago could have confirmed that Obama didn’t indulge in this type of conduct. Sadly, Young was murdered on December 23, 2007.
The forty-seven-year old choirmaster had attended Obama’s church since the age of twelve.

I had been following Sinclair’s story on the Internet since February 2008. Having been a Press Officer in the US Army and an Internal Auditor, I was familiar with what can happen when the media turns against you and more importantly the patterns of people who tell the truth and those who don’t. What impressed me most over the following nine months was Sinclair’s story stayed the same, that on multiple occasions efforts were made to silence him on the Internet, and yet he persisted in the face of threats of murder to him and harm to members of his own family.
This books reeks of the truth and the words and style of Larry Sinclair. It is not “ghost-written”. It is not a literary masterpiece and there are several typographical and grammatical mistakes. Most importantly it tells the true story of a man committed to exposing the truth. Sinclair pulls no punches and does not hide behind any equivocations about his past or his many flaws. He does provide very specific details about the dangerous journey he has taken to get the truth published, to speak truth to power. While parts of the book were previously published on his websites, he adds much more detail about what happened at the Democratic National Committee meeting in May 2008, the storm trooper tactics by the DC Metro Police after his appearance at the National Press Club in June 2008, the false charges initiated by Joe Biden’s son, Attorney General Beau Biden in Delaware, the continued failure of the Chicago Police to investigate the murder of Donald Young in December 2007, the openly gay choir master of Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ, and of course the very specific details about President Obama’s private parts.
It is shameful that the various mainstream media have refused to follow up on Sinclair’s story, to challenge him on the facts, to challenge Joe and Beau Biden and the DC Metro Police on their false charges and imprisonment of Larry Sinclair in June 2008. Just imagine if they and the powerful interests they represent can do this to relatively unknown Larry Sinclair, what can they do to you?

Obama and Emanuel: Members of same gay bath house in Chicago
President Obama and his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel are lifetime members of the same gay bath house in uptown Chicago, according to informed sources in Chicago’s gay community, as well as veteran political sources in the city.
The bath house, Man’s Country, caters to older white men and it has been in business for some 30 years and is known as one of uptown Chicago’s “grand old bathhouses.” WMR was told by sources who are familiar with the bath house that it provides one-year “lifetime” memberships to paying customers and that the club’s computerized files and pre-computer paper files, include membership information for both Obama and Emanuel. The data is as anonymized as possible for confidentiality purposes. However, sources close to “Man’s Country” believe the U.S. Secret Service has purged the computer and filing cabinet files of the membership data on Obama and Emanuel.
Members of Man’s Country are also issued club identification cards. WMR learned that Obama and Emanuel possessed the ID cards, which were required for entry.
Obama began frequenting Man’s Country in the mid-1990s, during the time he transitioned from a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School to his election as an Illinois State Senator in 1996. Emanuel, reportedly joined Man’s Country after he left the Clinton White House and moved back to Chicago in 1998, joining the investment firm of Wasserstein Perella and maintaining his membership during his 2002 campaign for the U.S. 5th District House seat vacated by Rod Blagojevich, who was elected governor.
Man’s Country appears to be a “one stop shopping” center for gay men. The club’s website advertises steam rooms, “fantasy rooms,” bed rooms, male strippers, adult movies, and lockers.
However, Man’s Country was not the only location for Obama’s predatory gay sex activities. The Chicago gay community is aware that Obama often made contacts with younger men at his famous “pick-up basketball” games. It was at these “pick up” matches where Obama first met Emanuel and a young Democratic campaign worker and senior bank vice president named Alexi Giannoulias. Currently running for Obama’s old U.S. Senate seat now occupied by Roland Burris, Giannoulias successfully ran for Illinois Treasurer in 2006 after being drafted for the run by Chicago’s Democratic machine.
When you have a person like Barack Hussein Obama, who habitually hides his entire background, you cannot help but think there is some sinister reason behind it. We now know that Barry Soetoro//aka//Barack Hussein Obama publicly displayed on national television a forged Birth Certificate in April 2011. We now know he had a fake Selective Service Registration Card and has a Social Security Number previously issued in Connecticut to another person. We also know Obama was registered in school in Indonesia as a Muslim yet he claims he is a Christian for no other reason that he attended the radical racist Trinity United Church of Christ run by the equally racist, anti-American, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. And now there is even someone who suspects that Barack Hussein Obama was the son of a black Communist named Frank Marshall Davis and not Keyan-born Barack Obama. Sr., whose name appears on Barry’s fake birth certificate. Remember that problem that Joe Biden has with not being able to control what comes out of his mouth? Maybe it is an infectious disease and it’s very possible that Newsweek may have caught it.

The assault on the Constitution and our Founding Principles has accelerated. Americans seem to be assailed by Marxist/Progressive propaganda at every turn. The most serious threat to our God-given rights currently, is the attack being mounted on the Second Amendment by the Progressive Left. They worked hard to manufacture a crisis with the Fast & Furious project which, to their disappointment, was exposed for the corrupt scandal it was before it could be leveraged to generate the outrage they hoped for. Their prayers for violence and horror, however, were answered. Using ginned up hysteria from convenient, current mass shootings and the slaughter of children – they never let a crisis go to waste. The Marxists see an opening to gut the Constitution and they are making their move. We dare not passively wait to be stripped of our rights.
The time for physical resistance has not yet arrived. Violence is always the very last resort. But neither has the time to just protect your own. Yes, we should take stock of our food, ammo, weapons and survival materials. Yes, we should brief our families and be more vigilant in protecting them. Yes, we should get to know our neighbors and form alliances. No, we should not just regroup and wait. That is a swift path to dictatorship. Pray for the best, plan for the worst. People should be doubling down on calling their politicians and letting them know that we are massively against these fascist moves towards banning and confiscating our guns. This is a battle we cannot — must not — lose, not if we wish to avoid civil conflict and bloodshed. This is it, boys and girls. We are fighting for all the marbles here. Throughout history, each time there is a genocide (or, “ethnic cleansing”), arms are regulated, registered and confiscated. Obama is threatening to go down that path and he relishes the thought.
This is the fight of our time and we will not submit to tyranny forced on the American people. That is not how this country was built and patriots will not sit this dance out. We must stop this abridgement of the Second Amendment at the government level or the fabric of America will be torn asunder. This is what Obama wants – he wants to ban guns, force every gun owner into a gun registry and then he wants widespread confiscation of our weapons. Patriots at that point will fight back and Obama also wants that, so he has an excuse to kill and imprison those who stand against him. He would then declare martial law where he can really and truly rule as an iron-fisted dictator. It’s been his end goal all along. Before door to door confiscation though, look for bank account seizures to force registration or submission of arms, just as the IRS uses in tax collection techniques. Banks have already started using this as a weapon against gun retailers and it will only get worse.
It’s not just the Second Amendment that is being attacked here. America’s liberties are being methodically beaten and pummeled from front and back. Virtually all of our Constitutional rights are under siege. If the administration gets its way, gun prohibition will spawn new speakeasies and black markets. Our prisons will fill up with those whose religious rights are violated under Obamacare, those who won’t relinquish their guns, people who are subjected to illegal search and seizure, as well as surveillance and on and on, while we struggle to understand “what we did to deserve this.” Meanwhile, Obama will release into the populace the real criminals, causing more violence and chaos. “For our own good,” of course. Obama will keep pushing Cloward and Piven and collapse the financial system. He will encourage “localized” Shariah law and pull more and more of the Muslim Brotherhood into our government. Massive amnesty for illegal immigrants is also in the political cards. Yes, it will hurt employment and wages, but we probably “had it coming.” For those who think I am an alarmist, you better take a long, hard look at what is happening. It is right in front of you. The systems are being overwhelmed with so many small fires, they cannot all be extinguished and anyone who tries will fail from exhaustion. It is the Soros school of regime change.

We have the Police Chief in Chicago now stating that it doesn’t matter if you are licensed legally to carry a firearm – if you are armed, the Chicago police will shoot you. Armed gangs are ruling our major cities and Obama wants to disarm the people, so the only ones who have guns are the criminals. The NRA’s membership has skyrocketed in the last month by 250,000 and Americans are now carrying MORE guns than before. They are patrolling neighborhoods and protecting those under attack. Walled communities in isolated regions are beginning to surface as well. Americans will try anything and everything to protect themselves.
Many of the actions by this President are, in my opinion, impeachable offenses. If Obama uses an Executive Order to forward the banning and confiscation of guns, he will be in direct violation of the Constitution and should be impeached. I have no faith our politicians will do so, though. They don’t have the spine for it, much less the political will. If they don’t move against him, soon he will control solely through the Executive branch with no fear of reprisal. Our 3 branches of government will not matter, nor will the Constitution. This has to be stopped.
Everywhere you turn now, you hear the whispers of resistance. Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Michael Savage among many others are ringing the warning bells. Our leaders should listen and carefully. I wonder, will it take a “burning bed” event before the abuse will stop?
The old urban lesson of the seventies is that the difference between civilization and the jungle is security. And there is no substitute for security, whether it’s the security of one man with a gun, or a very expensive police department of men with guns carrying out the marching orders of statistical analysts.
The political left has forgotten the lesson of Willie Horton in its arrogance and its base of metal working artists in converted warehouses has forgotten the lessons of that old Times Square that they never visited, but still nostalgically pine for. And as they work to disarm the people and dismantle police forces, it is inevitable that it is a lesson that they will be forced to learn again.
We are suffering from Battered America Syndrome. As Tammy Bruce has astutely pointed out, Obama is like the abusive husband who beats his wife and tells her it is for her own good. In fact, the abusers have formed a gang called the “Progressive Left.” They are ruling as bullies would and they don’t plan on ever leaving. The unvoiced threat is that if we push them, they will beat us to death. But, you know what? This battered spouse is a fighter and will fight back with all the courage and fury they can muster. Any bets on who will be left standing?
Ask any atheist or even secularist why they are opposing a Nativity Scene or in some cases even a Christmas tree, which is actually a secular symbol of the season, being put up in the town square or why they are so upset about the posting of the Ten Commandments. They will almost always sight the separation of church and state in the U.S. Constitution.
Amazing, because there is no mention of the separation of church and state in the Constitution, yet we have allowed them to create an entire movement based on a lie or misinformation. And actually Thomas Jefferson along with the rest of the Founding Fathers felt that God and Judeo-Christian values were essential for our Republic to survive.
The majority of people in this Country are or have Christian backgrounds and Thomas Jefferson, knowing that the only way a country can survive is to base its values and laws on solid principals, consciously chose Christian-Judeo values to set our country’s compass by! And it is seen, again and again in the Founding Fathers’ writings, that they stressed the need of biblical principles and Christian values as the framework for good government. Yet, they believed that each individual should be free to contribute according to his conscience to a pastor and church of his own choice, or no church at all if they so choose, and that one’s religious beliefs should not in any way determine his suitability for civil government. Jefferson and the other Founding Fathers also believed that their should be separation between church and state, meaning. We welcome everyone… but we expect them to assimilate and become part of the American melting pot… that is how America has survived and thrived. Just as, if we as individual Americans moved to another country, it would be our place to adjust and assimilate to their customs and traditions. The Founding Fathers realized that this amazing Country and their fight for freedom was God inspired and that God needed to be at the center of this nation.
In recent years, those who would like to interpret the First Amendment in a manner our forefathers never intended, have made use of the term “Separation of Church and State” to mean that there could be no possible impact or influence of Christianity upon civil government – or even upon education. The true meaning of the Establishment Clause can be stated in these terms – “Separation of Church from interference by the State”, exactly the opposite of what the progressives and critics now try to portray and push on the rest of us.
In fact, the only time the expression “Separation of Church and State” was used by a founding father, is in an off-the-record, non-political letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association. He wrote this letter on July l, 1802 replying to their public address which applauded his stance for establishing Religious Freedom. Jefferson prefaces his statement with an assurance to the Danbury Baptists that he concurs with their belief of man being accountable to God alone for his mode of worship, without the government’s coercion or interference:
…Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should “Make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church and State…
We have been had again by the liberal courts and suits by radical left groups like the ACLU and our own lack of knowledge of our history and the Constitution and unwillingness to stand-up and fight. Americans need to get back to studying and insisting that their children learn real history and about their religion. A little reading or discussion of the Constitution, the Bible, current events or what is going on at school would go a long way instead of everyone eating alone while playing another video game or eating together on TV trays staring at the television.
God is common to all believers and 98% of the population. As for the atheists, we do not make you believe in any specific religion, tithe nor worship, and “we” should not have to remove God, reference to him or general prayer for the 2 - 3% who are true atheists.

And let us remember… in the end there are no atheists in fox holes or major crisis, as we saw after 9/11.
However, “An October 2012 Pew poll found that, ‘In the last five years alone, the [religiously] unaffiliated have increased from just over 15 percent in 2007 to just under 20 percent of all U.S. adults in 2012. Their ranks now include more than 13 million self-described atheists and agnostics,’” … many students and young people. Why this change, you might wonder? As Dennis Praeger points out, for at least the last hundred years, the world’s most dynamic religion has been neither Christianity nor Islam. It has been leftism.
Did You Know… the Founding Fathers and God
Thomas Jefferson, with input of the other Founding Fathers, based our entire system on Judeo-Christian Values because they felt it was the best and most honest system there was.
Nowhere in the Constitution Does It Talk About Separation of Church and State and the concept was pick up from a letter between Jefferson and a cousin, but the context was changed. The concept was to protect the church from the government, not the government from the church.
The Founding Fathers believed in Freedom of Religion and welcomed all faiths… all variations of Christianity, Judaism, Muslims, etc. or the right not to worship at all, but they realized that God had to be at the center of our lives and society for freedom and the Republic to survive. And although they welcomed everyone to worship as they pleased, this Country was founded as a Christian Nation and the notion that they people we welcomed to come for freedom then telling us that we could no longer worship our religion or our way… was not and would not have been a consideration. 78 % of all Americans say they are Christians, even with the decay of families going to church and 84% of all Americans say they believe in God.
Thomas Jefferson wrote a book called The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth Extracted Textually from the Gospels: The Jefferson Bible. It was the words of Jesus in four different languages. It was given to each freshman Congressman when they came to the Hill from 1904 until the Progressive era… sometime in the 1920’s, because it was considered valuable information for each of them to have.
9 of the original 13 colonies had a state religions which are and were perfectly legal, but the Federal Government was restricted from starting an official National Religion to prevent religious control by the government like in England. (This concept of states’ rights correlates directly with the argument that the left is making about National Healthcare being legal, using Massachusetts as an example of a state that has mandated healthcare as justification for required National Healthcare… much is left to the states and the people, that is not granted to the Federal Government!)
Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin have been portrayed as the least religious Founding Fathers and as Deist or Atheists rather than Christians and are then help up in re-written history and Progressive arguments as examples of Renaissance Men. Both are interesting non-conventional figures in many ways, the not being Christians with strong beliefs in God is complete fabrication.

Samuel Adams, called Father of the Revolution, printed the first U.S. editions of the Holy Bible in conjunction with the Continental Congress to be used in school.
Two textbooks: Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Wives of the Signers: The Women Behind the Declaration of Independence used to be standard and required textbooks for all. (They have just been reprinted by WallBuilders). In the latest textbook curriculum hearings in Texas, Thomas Jefferson and his accomplishments are virtually left out of the newest history books, and study of the Founding Fathers in general or the Constitution is minimal. (Former President Ronald Reagan has met the same fate.) Texas and California textbooks have been used by the majority of the Country for years now, because they order so many and set the standard.
Founding Father Benjamin Rush, the Fatherof American Medicine and the Father of American Psychiatry, had a dream about a book of letters written between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, after Adams and Jefferson had a falling out. He also dreamed that Jefferson and Adams would die on the same day, on July 4th… and so they did 17-years later. He wrote Adams who felt Rush’s dream was providential and was willing to again communicate with Jefferson. Due to this dream the two old founders began their communication again, and years later their letters were compiled into a book and those plus so many other letters give us the insight that we have into that time. (FF Richard Henry Lee also left much invaluable documentation from that time.)
Approximately two years ago, HBO and Tom Hanks put out a special on John Adams. It was spectacular in many ways, but it purposely left out the importance of Faith in Adam’s life and falsely made Benjamin Franklin look like a lecherous, self-indulgent and faithless fool.
Benjamin Rush said, “If we ever take the Bible out of school, we will spend our time and money fighting crime.” (The same can be said for fighting uncontrolled teen pregnancy and abortions!)
In 1926 a group of Progressive Cornell Professors wrote a book called the Godless Nation, with no footnotes for their sources.They represented George Washington as being unreligious. That book and the information was contested a year later and proven untrue, but the Progressives… who have been re-writing textbooks and U.S. history are still quoting the Cornell book. George Washington had no natural children but adopted his step-daughter, who lived in her parents’ home for years. She was pressed at one point on her father’s Christianity. Although a much longer answer, essentially she said “to question the depth of his Christianity and faith in God is like questioning his Patriotism”… enough said!
In the 1940’s the Federal Government put out a poster with the Bible on it… with the claim that by fighting the Nazi’s and Communist’s they were saving the world for Christianity.
In the 1960’s the Federal Government put out various posters for war bonds including one set with Joan of Arc and another with the Nativity Scene on them and the Department of Agriculture put out a series of Fire and Flame posters and flyers with Smokey the Bear and direct quotes from the Bible.
However, in the 1960’s the Progressives infiltrated churches and began the teachings of social justice, ecumenicalism and new evangelism instead of Biblical teaching, just like they infiltrated schools and the educational system and began re-writing the history our children were (are) learning and taking God out of school. They also changed the policy of teaching Constitutional Law in Law School to studying Case Law… which allows corruption and social interpretation rather than the true law as stated in the U.S. Constitution.

One Major Reason Atheists Get Their Panties in a Wad Over Christmas
Why do some atheists embarrass themselves year after year trying to eradicate Christmas from American culture? Why do they make themselves societal hemorrhoids during this hallowed season? Is it because they are crusaders for equality, secularism’s saviors and humanism’s heroes? I’m sure that’s what they tell themselves when they’re pouting on their couches all alone on Christmas Eve after every single one of their friends has dumped them for being a rabid jackass.
I believe, however, and I could be wrong, that the reason some rage against the machine is that they hate God and love their sin, and bringing up Jesus in December is not the way they wanted to finish off the year. Indeed, Christ really rains on their parade—and they love their parade.
Christmas, if you really get down to the brass tacks of it, boys and girls, isn’t about reindeer, elves and iPhones, but about mankind’s sin problem and what God did to remedy it by sending His Son.
I know the chief facet most people focus on regarding Christ’s birth has been the peace on earth and good will towards men stuff, but if you dig around in the gospels a tad you’ll quickly see that the “peace on earth” thing is an ancillary perk to the main reason the second person of the godhead donned an earth suit and decided to hang out with us dunderheads. The core cause that necessitated Jesus’ incarnation was our jacked up carnality. Yep, Beavis, it was our sin. There, I said it. Sin. Yours, mine and ours.
Transgression was the reason for the season.
This is why El Diablo didn’t pass out cigars at Jesus’ birth. Happy he was not that the Son was not only going to address our sins but He was going to eternally and temporally salvage those who believe from sin’s fetid effects. This is why slewfoot energized Herod to put a hit out on the Nazarene when He was a wee little baby and why Satan’s demon inspired ilk is anti-Christmas to this today. Jesus’ birth equated to Satan’s demise.
This is not good news to some, though. Indeed, many atheists are up front about it and don’t want to leave their wantonness. As Jesus himself said, they prefer darkness to light and don’t like to be reminded of their personal accountability for their sin—and thus their need for salvation—and therefore we should not expect them to be stoked about Jesus’ birthday party.
This is easy math, folks: A person who has no remorse and thus no desire to repent from their sins is probably not going to be a big advocate for the celebration of the person who reminds them they’re wrong and calls them to repent and believe.
Call me goofy, but I’m forever grateful for Jesus’ birth, His attesting miracles, His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. While most atheists this Christmas will be drinking to forget, I will, as Martin Luther said, drink to remember the One who was and is and is to come.

I found Mr. Jilette's (a comedian and an admitted atheist) comments, linked here, considerate, open minded and confusing all at the same time. Seems to me his basic theme is that atheists sense they are "left out" when the focus of the upcoming holiday is on the word Christmas and therein lies what I consider confusing. How can that be when the reason for the season/holiday, or whatever name is used to avoid offending anyone, is not so everyone can get into a shopping frenzy hunting for super shopping deals from the day after Thanksgiving until late in the day on Dec. 24th -- annually. Come to think of it, Thanksgiving Day is turning into a trigger for a sales event rather than a time of giving thanks for a lot of folks. I guess one can be thankful for their shelter while camped out at Best Buy waiting for Black Friday. Now then, if all the red ribbons, beautifully wrapped "gifts", decorated pine trees, carolers singing about peace on earth and good will to men, festive gatherings of family and friends, people dressed as Santa and/or elves preparing gifts never appeared in TV commercials, mail or store fronts would this time of year still be called Christmas by our general population? Not likely!! From a commercial point of view, for those business that cannot openly acknowledge the reason for the season, it's time to drop all the phony appearances and call this a shopping holiday instead since the overall objective is to beat last year's total dollars spent – not to celebrate Christ's birth!! Don't know about you but I really am disgusted with the socialist direction our country is heading in and to retaliate, I'd like to see the Christian community refuse to purchase from any business that does not openly recognize the true reason for the season, for openers. Equally important to not buying is to contact those businesses and demand they to stop using the symbols of Christmas if they refuse to use the word Christmas for fear of offending someone because I and thousands like me are offended. Things have gotten to the point where those sitting at the top of the pyramid have evolved into puppeteers and we, the dumb masses, are their puppets. Even so we still have options to exercise. I've heard a number to times about the three boxes we voters have; one is the soap box, another is the ballot box and the third is the bullet box. We recently used the first two (only to get more of the same) and hope the third is never necessary but it seems the puppeteers are backing the dumb masses into the proverbial corner – not a good sign. However there is another option to consider, manipulating profit margins of any public or privately held corporation/business by collectively choosing who to deprive of our money. On a more positive note though, think of the successful Chick-fil-A event this past summer. Take a moment to imagine how it would alter a business's attitude toward respecting the significance of Christmas in their advertisements or at the cash register when their profit margins take a dip. To take this a step further, the same principle applies to curtailing the invasive 4th Amendment abuse by 'our' TSA. For example, if, across our nation, those flying for pleasure during the Christmas holiday used another form of transportation instead to protest TSA abuse, the loss of business revenue would be significant. Not only would airlines loose a bunch of money but so would cabbies, jet fuel suppliers, air terminals and vendors, parking lots, destination facilities, etc. and would get someone's attention. Or how about this, if a business listed on the stock market does not meet their quarterly projections, their investors will show their displeasure by selling shares causing the stock value (operating capital) to take a dive and may even cause the business to close. In other words, assuming Mr. Jilette is correct, if 60 to 70 percent of our population is Christian then we actually have the power to control our country's purse strings, be that government or private, by carefully choosing where and when to spend our money collectively. Comfort told WND, however, that the “Famous Atheist” column is about more than simply exposing atheists, but also offering a word of hope to those who have been ensnared by atheist thinking.
“WND has a big and broad platform that extends beyond the church walls, and that excites me, because I have something very important to say,” Comfort told WND. “Recently there was a terrible pileup of vehicles in a Texas fog, resulting in tragic deaths and serious injury. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday said the Justice Dept. did not give the State Dept. a "heads up" about the botched gunwalking scandal known as "Operation Fast and Furious." Really? Does anyone believe that??
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is pushing for the United States to become a party to a global gun control law proposed by the United Nations. And President Barack Obama appears to be sympathetic to such an international power-grab and he's already displayed a propensity for bypassing the legislative process.
In fact, many believe the recent "Operation Fast and Furious" scandal had more to do with gaining support for gun control and gun ownership bans than it had to do with crime fighting and drug cartels.
"The Obama Administration will take its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. The Obama White House intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations," according to journalist Joan Sharon.
The goal of the treaty is to come up with internationally recognized rules governing the trade of guns and ammo. The United States is the world's largest exporter of arms.
To sooth concerns, the administration has said that it would sign the accord only if all other states agreed to it first, but pro-gun groups view the international treaty as a first step toward home-grown gun control.
U.S. lawmakers and groups like the National Rifle Association argue that it would essentially gut the Second Amendment by allowing an international authority to control American gun ownership.
A final version of the treaty is expected to be finished next year.
By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the U.S. State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the U.S. government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments.
These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as radical billionaire George Soros and New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
"The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms," according to Sharon.
"The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened," she added.
Critics believe Obama will appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation in the United States that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.
"We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment," Ms. Sharon stated.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) joined his colleague Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) and 43 other Senators in expressing grave concern about the dangers posed to Second Amendment rights by the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty. In a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, the 45 senators (now up to 57 signers… do not have full list of names yet) said they would oppose ratification of an Arms Trade Treaty that in any way restricts the rights of law-abiding American gun owners. This is enough to block the treaty from Senate passage, as treaties submitted to the U.S. Senate require approval of two-thirds of Senators present to be ratified.
“Our Second Amendment is non-negotiable,” said Hatch. “We don’t need a bunch of bureaucrats at the United Nations dictating our liberties and freedoms. This Treaty should not be ratified and I will fight it tooth and nail.”
In the letter, the senators wrote: “As the treaty process continues, we strongly encourage your Administration to uphold our country’s constitutional protections of civilian firearms ownership. These freedoms are not negotiable, and we will oppose ratification of an Arms Trade Treaty presented to the Senate that in any way restricts the rights of law-abiding U.S. citizens to manufacture, assemble, possess, transfer or purchase firearms, ammunition and related items.”
“As we have for the past 15 years, the NRA will fight to stop a United Nations Arms Trade Treaty that infringes on the Constitutional rights of American gun owners,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, NRA Institute for Legislative Action. “This letter sends a clear message to the international bureaucrats who want to eliminate our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms. Clearly, a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that includes civilian arms within its scope is not supported by the American people or their elected U.S. Senators. Sen. Moran is a true champion of our freedom. We are grateful for his leadership and his tenacious efforts on this issue, as well as the 44 other senators who agree with the NRA’s refusal to compromise on our constitutional freedoms.”
In October of 2009 at the U.N. Dear President Obama and Secretary Clinton:
As defenders of the right of Americans to keep and bear arms, we write to express our grave concern about the dangers posed by the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty. Our country’s sovereignty and the constitutional protection of these individual freedoms must not be infringed.
In October of 2009 at the U.N. General Assembly, your administration voted for the U.S. to participate in negotiating this treaty. Preparatory committee meetings are now underway in anticipation of a conference in 2012 to finalize the treaty. Based on the process to date, we are concerned that the Arms Trade Treaty poses dangers to rights protected under the Second Amendment for the following reasons.
First, while the 2009 resolution on the treaty acknowledged the existence of “national constitutional protections on private ownership,” it placed the existence of these protections in the context of “the right of States to regulate internal transfers of arms and national ownership,” implying that constitutional protections must be interpreted in the context of the broader power of the state to regulate. We are concerned both by the implications of the 2009 resolution and by the hostility to private firearms ownership manifested by similar resolutions in previous years—such as the 2008 resolution, which called for the “highest possible standards” of control.
Second, your Administration agreed to participate in the negotiation only if it “operates under the rule of consensus decision-making.” Given that the 2008 resolution on the treaty was adopted almost unanimously—with only the U.S. and Zimbabwe in opposition—it seems clear that there is a near-consensus on the requirement for the “highest possible standards,” which will inevitably put severe pressure on the United States to compromise on important issues.
Third, U.N. member states regularly argue that no treaty controlling the transfer of arms internationally can be effective without controls on transfers inside member states. Any treaty resulting from the Arms Trade Treaty process that seeks in any way to regulate the domestic manufacture, assembly, possession, transfer, or purchase of firearms, ammunition, and related items would be completely unacceptable to us.
Fourth, reports from the 2010 Preparatory Meeting make it clear that many U.N. member states aim to craft an extremely broad treaty. A declaration by Mexico and other Central and South American countries, for example, called for the treaty to cover “All types of conventional weapons (regardless of their purpose), including small arms and light weapons, ammunition, components, parts, technology and related materials.” Such a broad treaty would be completely unenforceable, and would pose dangers to all U.S. businesses and individuals involved in any aspect of the firearms industry. At the 2010 Meeting, the U.S. representative twice expressed frustration with the wide-ranging and unrealistic scope of the projected treaty. We are concerned that these cautions will not be heeded, and that the Senate will eventually be called upon to consider a treaty that is so broad it cannot effectively be subject to our advice and consent.
Fifth, and finally, the underlying philosophy of the Arms Trade Treaty is that transfers to and from governments are presumptively legal, while transfers to non-state actors (such as terrorists and criminals) are, at best, problematic.
