Many people make resolutions to start the year, but I think a list of things that must be done to protect and preserve the Republic should be tallied…
President Obama must be defeated in 2012 and the obstructionist Democratic Party must lose power in the Senate to ensure both houses of Congress will be Republican and in a position to initiate real change.
The Environmental Protection Agency must be reined in with increased Congressional oversight and legislative limits on its rule-making capacity. Having fulfilled its 1970 mandate to clean the nation’s air and water, it should be scaled back to the maintenance of these functions.
Americans, despite the administration’s efforts to redefine and distract us, must keep clearly in mind the threat of Islam to the nation and the world. A Middle East in turmoil lays ahead for 2012.
To jump-start the economy, taxes and spending must be reduced across the board. A tax on consumption, rather than income would be a good start. Only 49% of Americans currently pay income taxes, the lowest in decades.
Obamacare must be repealed should the Supreme Court fail to rule that the Commerce Clause takes precedence over its requirement that Americans must purchase health insurance or be fined for not doing so.
A serious restructuring of Social Security and Medicare must be undertaken. Older Americans who have paid into the system—it is involuntary—must be ensured their benefits will be paid, but younger citizens should have the freedom and responsibility to structure their own retirement and health plans.
Access to the nation’s vast reserves of coal, natural gas, and oil should be increased and encouraged. Oil companies should be encouraged to build more refineries via tax credits and removal of “environmental” obstacles.
Congress needs to identify and fund the repair to the nation’s aging infrastructure.
Utilities should be encouraged via tax credits and other incentives to expand the national “grid” for the distribution of electricity.
Term limits for Senators and Representatives should be added to the U.S. Constitution in the same fashion the presidency is limited. Salaries, pensions, and perks should be capped. A permanent political class is a danger to citizens.
The Federal government should be downsized with the elimination of the Departments of Education, Labor, and Energy, along with the Environmental Protection Agency. These powers should be returned to the individual States. (10th Amendment)
The nation’s military which has been significantly reduced in size and structure should be expanded with attention to the upgrade and increase of its naval fleet and aircraft.
Congress should reject and rescind all legislation based on “global warming” or “climate change” as the former has been demonstrated to be a hoax and the latter is meaningless insofar as the climate is beyond the control of humans.
The United States should significantly reduce its contribution to the United Nations and refuse to ratify any of its treaties.
Tort reform should be instituted to reduce the costs of health care.
The corporate tax rate should be significantly reduced from its present rate, one of the highest in the world, to increase expansion, new jobs, and competitiveness.
Public service unions should be illegal. The federal government does not permit such unionization and neither should states.
National Public Radio should no longer be funded. The “government entities” of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be eliminated.
The federal government should be restricted or significantly limited from the acquisition of more of the nation’s landmass.
Strenuous efforts must be undertaken to reduce the national debt and deficit. A devalued dollar impoverishes everyone.
These are just a few changes which, if implemented, would go a long way to reducing the ills associated with a federal government grown too large, subject to crony capitalism, and corruption.

California Senate mandates homosexual role models for schoolchildren Thomasson: "Parents don't want and children don't need 'LGBTIQ' role models"
Sacramento, California – With today's passage by the Democrat-controlled California State Senate of "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as mandatory role models for children as young as kindergarten, SaveCalifornia.com, a leading West Coast pro-family, pro-child organization is calling upon California parents to permanently remove their children from the government school system.
Today, the California Senate, on a 23 to 14 vote -- Democrats for, Republicans against -- approved what would be the 7th school sexual indoctrination law teaching children to view homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality as a good and natural lifestyle option. The vote comes the day before the disruptive "Day of Silence" in public schools, sponsored by the "Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network," which SaveCalifornia.com is urging parents to counter-protest by keeping their kids home this Friday.
SB 48 would mandate that history and social studies textbooks and instructional materials teach children to admire "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as role models. The proponents of the bill seem to have forgotten there are already six statewide school sexual indoctrination laws affirming homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. "This clear and present danger should motivate fathers and mothers to rescue their children from California government schools and take them to the safe havens of solid church schools and homeschooling," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com. "Parents don't want and children don't need 'LGBTIQ' role models in school, SB 48 is sexual brainwashing in the extreme. It's damaging and nonacademic to teach children a lie -- that homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality are natural and healthy lifestyles, when they’re not."
"SB 48 micromanages public schools by forcing teachers, administrators, local school boards, textbooks, and instructional materials to promote a gaggle of sexual lifestyles that disturb parents and confuse kids," Thomasson said. "This state mandate targets children for sexual brainwashing, behind the backs of parents, teaching boys and girls to admire those who engage in unnattural and unhealthy homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual behavior.
If SB 48 becomes law: 1. Textbooks and instructional materials must positively promote "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as "role" models. 2. Children as young as 6 years old will be taught to admire homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-change operations). 3. Children will be taught to support the political activism of "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning" (LGBTIQ) political groups, as the bill requires "particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society." 4. Teachers will be made to positively portray homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-changes operations), because to be silent can bring the charge of "reflecting adversely." 5. School boards will be required to select textbooks and other instructional materials that positively portray sex-change operations, same-sex "marriages," and more, because to be silent on these subjects opens them up to charges of "reflecting adversely." 6. Parents will not be notified, nor will they be able to exempt their children, from this new core curriculum.
"California government schools are no longer morally safe for impressionable children," Thomasson said. "Because of the raft of sexual indoctrination laws already in force, which promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and trans-sexuality under the guise of 'discrimination' and 'harassment,' the social engineers are already having their way with more than six million boys and girls, with or without SB 48. That's why we strongly urge loving parents to rescue their children by permanently removing them from government schools and placing them in the safe havens of church schools or homeschooling." "We call on Governor Jerry Brown to have compassion, to respect parents, and to remember when public schools used to be good and didn't push sexual indoctrination," Thomasson said. "Now public schools aren't so good, yet homosexual activists are pushing their non-academic agenda without regard to parents or logic or the best interests of children. Governor Brown should prepare to veto this bad bill, which greatly disturbs parents, confuses kids, and flushes public schools farther down the toilet."
Every so often, my friend Jen posts a link on her Facebook page that I'm sure is intended to get a rise out of me. All she has to do is direct me to a news story about tweens.
Once, she found an article about the trend among tween girls to have professional hair treatments such as highlights, lowlights, chemical straighteners and permanent curls. Unlike the home treatments we may have had our moms do for us when we were teens, pre-teenagers today get their moms to plunk down $45 or more for a salon visit where they get streaks of color not found in nature.
According to the salon owner quoted in the article, girls as young as 6 sometimes come in for color streaks in their hair; though she admitted, "8 to 12 is more the norm." Later in the story, the truth behind this style trend revealed itself: Tweens are a powerful demographic spending group, so businesses such as hair salons are finding ways to get a piece of the tween pie.
Tweenhood is a phony phase
The tweening of America makes me crazy, and not just because I live with a daughter who sings pop songs in the bathroom and has a crush on America's current teen heart throb, Justin Bieber.
I understand stereotypically tween girl obsessions – lip-gloss, cute shoes, spiral notebooks with pictures of iCarley star Miranda Cosgrove – since these sorts of things are generally harmless and typical for pre-teen girls.
What bugs me about tweenhood as a bona fide life phase is, it's just phony. It was created by marketers to tap the vast pile of money to which tweens – those between the ages of 8 and 12 who formerly were known as "children" – now have direct access or at least direct influence.
Thanks to marketers, our children now experience something called "age compression" or KGOY, an acronym of the marketing trade that stands for Kids Getting Older Younger. This is the reason we see news headlines like one I saw a while back: "Ten is the new 15." It works like this: Marketers get children hooked at an early age on the idea that they will be happier and more popular if they wear certain brands and have certain things. By the time they reach the ripe old age of 11 or 12, children are so savvy that they're understandably less interested in "childish" things (i.e. toys) and more interested in the things that make them cool (smartphones, laptops, make-up). At least, that's the opinion of one marketing guru who claims KGOY requires new strategies to meet the tween demand for new products and services.
Is this what our culture needs – a generation of pre-adolescents skipping their childhoods only to be immersed in a state of pseudo-adulthood? How will this result in a mature society?

America… we are barely holding on as a nation and a people to our principles and values and to the family unit. The change back to values and freedom starts with each of you and especially if you have children or grandchildren. Do not go along with crowd if you feel or know something is wrong. It is each parent’s job to protect and educate their children as well as insure that the America the inherit is as good as the country you and your parents were given stewardship of.
Get your kids out of public school… find a private school, homeschool, set up a co-op home-school with your friends, family or neighbors. It is the greatest investment and sacrifice you will ever make!!

Today, ALG ( Americans for Limited Government ) President Bill Wilson praised Senator Marco Rubio for his "courageous stand" against increasing the $14.294 trillion federal debt ceiling
Senator Rubio outlined his conditions for approving any increase in the ceiling, which will be hit between April 15th and May 31st according to U.S. Treasury estimates.
"I will vote to defeat an increase in the debt limit unless it is the last one we ever authorize and is accompanied by a plan for fundamental tax reform, an overhaul of our regulatory structure, a cut to discretionary spending, a balanced-budget amendment, and reforms to save Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid," wrote Senator Rubio.
Wilson said Rubio's conditions were "reasonable." He explained, "Look, with a national debt that has already soared above $14 trillion that will become larger than the entire economy, soon the debt will become too large to even refinance, let alone ever be repaid." By 2021, the Office of Management and Budget projects the national debt will soar to over $25 trillion.
"If Senate Republicans cannot use their leverage on the debt ceiling vote to achieve significant concessions, including a Balanced Budget Amendment, to turn the Ship of State around now, will assuredly sink into the Abyss in the not-so-distant future," Wilson warned.
Currently, the $14.2 trillion national debt already stands at 95.5 percent of the nation's $14.8 trillion Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Wilson said it was unclear at what percentage of debt-to-GDP that the debt becomes too large to refinance, but that "the warning signs are already there that we cannot even meet our current obligations honestly."
"Right now, we're currently meeting our financing obligations by having the Federal Reserve simply print money to buy debt. Anyone ever heard of the Weimar Republic? How'd that work out for them?" Wilson asked.
The Weimar Republic experienced hyperinflation in 1920's as it attempted to print money to honor its war debts and reparations, destabilizing the country and leading directly to its fall.
Pimco reports that in 2009, 80 percent of treasuries were purchased by the Federal Reserve, and in 2010, it had to buy 70 percent, bringing its current U.S. debt holdings to $1.3 trillion. "The Fed is the largest lender to the U.S. government in the world, more than China or Japan. When the Fed ends QE2 in June, it will likely keep a high water mark of $1.5 trillion in treasuries holdings. That means it will still be buying U.S. debt to aid in refinancing," Wilson explained.
"Republicans need to do a better job of explaining the fiscal catastrophe we face, and what will happen if the debt is allowed to become too large to even refinance," Wilson noted.
"If the GOP cannot articulate what will happen to this country, specifically, if Congress fails to act and the debt soars to over $25 trillion in a decade, it will undercut their case for real fiscal reform," Wilson explained. "Either the debt will become too large to service, or it can continue to grow forever with no danger. If members truly believe that indeed it can get too large, then Senate Republicans' time to act is now."
Wilson concluded, "This is not just about getting an up-or-down vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment. This is about actually making certain that the debt ceiling never needs to be increased again. Senator Rubio's stand is an example all members should emulate. He's trying to save his country before it's too late, and we applaud him for that."
