Sacramento, California – With today's passage by the Democrat-controlled California State Senate of "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as mandatory role models for children as young as kindergarten, SaveCalifornia.com, a leading West Coast pro-family, pro-child organization is calling upon California parents to permanently remove their children from the government school system.

Today, the California Senate, on a 23 to 14 vote -- Democrats for, Republicans against -- approved what would be the 7th school sexual indoctrination law teaching children to view homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality as a good and natural lifestyle option. The vote comes the day before the disruptive "Day of Silence" in public schools, sponsored by the "Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network," which SaveCalifornia.com is urging parents to counter-protest by keeping their kids home this Friday.

SB 48 would mandate that history and social studies textbooks and instructional materials teach children to admire "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as role models. The proponents of the bill seem to have forgotten there are already six statewide school sexual indoctrination laws affirming homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality.
"This clear and present danger should motivate fathers and mothers to rescue their children from California government schools and take them to the safe havens of solid church schools and homeschooling," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com. "Parents don't want and children don't need 'LGBTIQ' role models in school, SB 48 is sexual brainwashing in the extreme. It's damaging and nonacademic to teach children a lie -- that homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality are natural and healthy lifestyles, when they’re not."

"SB 48 micromanages public schools by forcing teachers, administrators, local school boards, textbooks, and instructional materials to promote a gaggle of sexual lifestyles that disturb parents and confuse kids," Thomasson said. "This state mandate targets children for sexual brainwashing, behind the backs of parents, teaching boys and girls to admire those who engage in unnattural and unhealthy homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual behavior.

If SB 48 becomes law:
1. Textbooks and instructional materials must positively promote "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as "role" models.
2. Children as young as 6 years old will be taught to admire homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-change operations).
3. Children will be taught to support the political activism of "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning" (LGBTIQ) political groups, as the bill requires "particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society."
4. Teachers will be made to positively portray homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-changes operations), because to be silent can bring the charge of "reflecting adversely."
5. School boards will be required to select textbooks and other instructional materials that positively portray sex-change operations, same-sex "marriages," and more, because to be silent on these subjects opens them up to charges of "reflecting adversely."
6. Parents will not be notified, nor will they be able to exempt their children, from this new core curriculum.

"California government schools are no longer morally safe for impressionable children," Thomasson said. "Because of the raft of sexual indoctrination laws already in force, which promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and trans-sexuality under the guise of 'discrimination' and 'harassment,' the social engineers are already having their way with more than six million boys and girls, with or without SB 48. That's why we strongly urge loving parents to rescue their children by permanently removing them from government schools and placing them in the safe havens of church schools or homeschooling." "We call on Governor Jerry Brown to have compassion, to respect parents, and to remember when public schools used to be good and didn't push sexual indoctrination," Thomasson said. "Now public schools aren't so good, yet homosexual activists are pushing their non-academic agenda without regard to parents or logic or the best interests of children. Governor Brown should prepare to veto this bad bill, which greatly disturbs parents, confuses kids, and flushes public schools farther down the toilet."

Resist the "tweening" of America

Every so often, my friend Jen posts a link on her Facebook page that I'm sure is intended to get a rise out of me. All she has to do is direct me to a news story about tweens.

Once, she found an article about the trend among tween girls to have professional hair treatments such as highlights, lowlights, chemical straighteners and permanent curls. Unlike the home treatments we may have had our moms do for us when we were teens, pre-teenagers today get their moms to plunk down $45 or more for a salon visit where they get streaks of color not found in nature.

According to the salon owner quoted in the article, girls as young as 6 sometimes come in for color streaks in their hair; though she admitted, "8 to 12 is more the norm." Later in the story, the truth behind this style trend revealed itself: Tweens are a powerful demographic spending group, so businesses such as hair salons are finding ways to get a piece of the tween pie.

Tweenhood is a phony phase

The tweening of America makes me crazy, and not just because I live with a daughter who sings pop songs in the bathroom and has a crush on America's current teen heart throb, Justin Bieber.

I understand stereotypically tween girl obsessions – lip-gloss, cute shoes, spiral notebooks with pictures of iCarley star Miranda Cosgrove – since these sorts of things are generally harmless and typical for pre-teen girls.

What bugs me about tweenhood as a bona fide life phase is, it's just phony. It was created by marketers to tap the vast pile of money to which tweens – those between the ages of 8 and 12 who formerly were known as "children" – now have direct access or at least direct influence.

Thanks to marketers, our children now experience something called "age compression" or KGOY, an acronym of the marketing trade that stands for Kids Getting Older Younger. This is the reason we see news headlines like one I saw a while back: "Ten is the new 15."
It works like this: Marketers get children hooked at an early age on the idea that they will be happier and more popular if they wear certain brands and have certain things. By the time they reach the ripe old age of 11 or 12, children are so savvy that they're understandably less interested in "childish" things (i.e. toys) and more interested in the things that make them cool (smartphones, laptops, make-up). At least, that's the opinion of one marketing guru who claims KGOY requires new strategies to meet the tween demand for new products and services.

Is this what our culture needs – a generation of pre-adolescents skipping their childhoods only to be immersed in a state of pseudo-adulthood? How will this result in a mature society?

If the mainstream media will not police the police, we are clearly living in dangerous times. It was shocking to realize my own son (who has three young beautiful children) had not heard the recent revelations about Obama's appointee, Safe School Czar Kevin Jennings.

If there is any justice, judging by the lack of subscriptions and audience, the mainstream media will be replaced by true investigative reporting, and this is the best example so far. What could be more important than protecting our young? This despicable man needs to be fired, and it is up to the 'new' media to take charge and follow this through. Nobody wants to write about this stuff, but our children's safety is at stake and it cannot be ignored -- passing out 'Gay Bar Guides"? Are you serious?

The new news media is the blogosphere with excellent reporting from the likes of Andrew Breitbart's Big Government et al, Michelle Malkin, HotAir, Ann Coulter, PajamasMedia, Erick Erickson's Red State, Gateway Pundit, Knowledge Creates Power (who have one of the best blogrolls (other site lists for you non-Internet types) around, WMD and thousands of others, including out of country sites like the CFP - Canada Free Press. They have all been diligent in their reporting about Jennings and a lot of other topics you don’t hear about in the lame stream media, and in order to get Jennings away from our children, we must keep up the pressure.

If you get your news exclusively through the mainstream media, you don’t know Kevin Jennings. Of course, if you get your news exclusively through the mainstream media, you don’t read Pajamas Media. Even if you get your news through blogs, you still may have missed Kevin Jennings. It’s not easy to write about this man, even if you are informed.

Kevin Jennings is President Obama’s “safe schools” czar. Here’s his history:

Kevin Jennings, GLSEN’s founder, is recognized as a leader in both the education and civil rights communities and currently serves as the executive director of GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.

Kevin Jennings also kept silent about a sexual relationship between a much older man and a former student, wants to segregate gay children in school, praised the NAMBLA founder, and taught in schools (with children) for years.There is much more.

Why has it taken me so long to write on this topic? Mostly because it’s rendered me speechless. I’ve been reading Jim Hoft’s amazing, breaking stories. The latest is that Republicans are calling, finally, for the firing of Jennings. But what’s to say? It’s horrifying.
Here are the topics: fisting, fisting kits (yes, as in demonstrations and how-to’s), spit or swallow?, gay bar guide for teenagers, and more.

This story makes Tipper Gore’s trilling against Eminem’s naughty words in music seem downright quaint. The leftists take warping youth to a whole new, deviant, depraved level.

What is to say?

This garbage is being taught in elementary and secondary schools to our kids. Do you get how heinous this is? In the protected environment of government-run schools a teacher can talk to a kid about fisting, but a television reporter would have to find a way to get around the FCC censors to report on it.

What. The. Hell.

So I’ve waited. Sat at my computer screen, stunned at what Jim was writing and not knowing what to do with it. Seems I’m not alone. In fact, Ed Morrissey, writing over at Hot Air, expresses the same feelings. He concludes (go read the whole thing):

Almost every parent wants their children to be well-informed on human biology and reproduction at the age of 14. They don’t want activists in their schools attempting to teach their 14-year-old children fetishistic techniques such as fisting, rimming, or watersports. Anyone who thinks that these topics are appropriate for 14-year-olds in the context of public education is someone who shouldn’t be within 500 yards of any school, let alone be the “safe schools” czar.
Twenty-five years ago, Monty Python’s Meaning of Lifesatirized parental fears over sex education in schools with a hilarious segment in which the teacher actually demonstrates sexual techniques with his wife to a room full of bored and distracted teenage boys. The hilarity of this skit relies on the ridiculous notion that anyone would ever dream of doing something this inappropriate in a school. Unfortunately, in this case, life has trumped satire — and now we call it the Obama administration. This clip is NSFW, but so is this whole thread.

What this amounts to is what I’ve called the “pornification of the culture” — where nothing is off-limits and the age of consent is dialed down. At Gateway Pundit, Jim reports that teachers had materials that glorify incest, molestation, and more.

You know what this also reminds me of? How feminists frame abortion. You know, abortions aren’t harmful. Those are just clumps of tissue. You won’t feel bad afterward. But it’s a rare woman who doesn’t feel bad afterward. Women are told a lie over and over and it becomes the truth. I feel bad after this abortion, but I was told I shouldn’t feel bad. What’s wrong with me?

So the freaks who want to have easy access to children try to institutionally desensitize them to abuse. That’s what child predators do. They “groom” children so that when they cross the boundary into sexual abuse, it isn’t really abuse; it’s another “choice.” And if the child feels badly, well, it’s because the child has been enculturated by a puritanical society. The solution is to sexualize children from the moment they can walk and talk. Probably earlier.

A pox on these freaks houses. Their efforts rob children of childhood and destroy the innocence in sexual discovery. It is an abomination. There is not a teenager alive who hasn’t figured out what parts go where. Why is sexual education even necessary? But it’s not about sexual education. It’s about justifying their own base behavior and the warped childhood experiences that brought them to their current state. To remove their own shame, they wish to shame everyone. They wish to rip natural coming-of-age experiences to threads and make it a profane thing.

This is not to romanticize youth or the teenage years. Kids these days are exposed to images and ideas people even twenty years before didn’t experience. Still, there is no reason for the public schools to participate and encourage this corruption.

Kevin Jennings should be fired. The writers and and promoters of this garbage should be run out of town. Seriously. There are some lines that should not be crossed. Protection from such exposure should be a bare minimum for a “school safety” czar, don’t you think?

Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings was the founder, and for many years, Executive Director of an organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). GLSEN started essentially as Jennings’ personal project and grew to become the culmination of his life’s work. And he was chosen by President Obama to be the nation’s Safe Schools Czar primarily because he had founded and led GLSEN (scroll for bio).

GLSEN’s stated mission is to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. To that end, GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids. Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own.

According to GLSEN’s own press releases from the period during which its recommended reading list was developed, the organization’s three areas of focus were creating “educational resources, public policy agenda, [and] student organizing programs”; in other words, the reading list (chief among its “educational resources”) was of prime importance in GLSEN’s efforts to influence the American educational system.

The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.

We knew that unless we carefully documented what we were reading, the public would have a hard time accepting it. Mere descriptions on our part could not convey the emotional gut reaction one gets when seeing what Kevin Jennings wants kids to read as school assignments. So we began scanning pages from each of the books, and then made exact transcriptions of the relevant passages on each page.

Are we exaggerating, or misconstruing quotes that could be interpreted a different way? No: Read the passages below and judge for yourself. There’s no wiggle room. The language is explicit, the intent clear.

We can only vouch for what’s in these 11 books, since these are the only ones we’ve read through. Are there other books on the GLSEN reading list that are similarly outrageous? We can’t say for sure, but it seems very likely. What you see excerpted below is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

Let it be clear: This issue has nothing to do with gayness or straightness, which is irrelevant to this report. The point proven here is that the GLSEN reading list promotes the sexualization of children in general, regardless of the “orientation.”

And this is not about censorship: It’s about deciding what constitutes appropriate reading material for children. We’re perfectly OK with these books existing and being read by adults; we only start to worry when these books are assigned to children. All sorts of books are excluded from school reading lists, for all sorts of reasons. Even many books once considered classics are now considered off-limits due to language or attitudes now deemed inappropriate. And yet, according to Kevin Jennings and GLSEN, books about a 13-year-old getting “my cock sucked and my ass fucked” or about a teenager enjoying the “exquisite bitter taste” of his friend’s semen are not just acceptable, they’re highly recommended. As GLSEN’s own site says, “All BookLink items are reviewed by GLSEN staff for quality and appropriateness of content.” Really? (Note: GLSEN does advise adults to “review content for suitability.”)

Although GLSEN does not address how books get added to its list, it’s hard to imagine that they are chosen by low-level staffers or volunteers, with no oversight. Since the list of recommended books is one of the organization’s primary tools (”The GLSEN BookLink, an online library of recommended resources, along with the Safe Space program remain cornerstones of GLSEN’s education work.”source), it’s likely that the books were chosen carefully. Kevin Jennings stepped down as Executive Director last year after leading GLSEN since its inception, but every single book mentioned in this report was added to the list while Jennings was in charge (dates are given for each title’s addition to the list). Therefore, it’s reasonable to believe he was aware of the addition of these works – especially since most were added when GLSEN was still quite small and the Executive Director had a hands-on role in daily operations.

Below you will find dozens of excerpts taken from books on the GLSEN “Booklink” recommended reading list for grades 7-12 (i.e. for children between the ages of 12 and 17). To prove that these books are indeed recommended by GLSEN for children, click on each book’s title to see its individual listing on the GLSEN Web site. And to prove that each excerpt is transcribed exactly as it appears in each book, click on the page numbers or the small images along the left to see scans taken directly of the book pages in question. You decide for yourself if you think these are appropriate for kids as young as 12 years old to read. And then decide if you think the man who headed the organization responsible for recommending these books to children should be in charge of school safety in this country.
