Massive Wealth Redistribution Via UN Millenium Development Goals – And We Thought Copenhagen Was Dead?

Here’s the low-down of President Obama the Global Organizer’s commitment to global wealth redistribution via the  The United States’ Strategy for Meeting the Millennium Development Goals during UN Week.  

[O]ur Global Health Intitiative (GHI) will channel $63 billion over six years to help support partner countries working to improve health outcomes.

Through the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, we launched in October 2009 a global technology and innovation call for privately managed investment funds. The funds will make investments in start‐up and growth‐oriented companies in the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors in developing countries, starting in the Middle East and North Africa. The funds represent over $800 million in potential commitments by OPIC, and together with additional private sector capital, catalyzed by OPIC, they may provide over $3.2 billion in private equity capital for Muslim‐majority countriesin the Middle East and North Africa.

Through a large portfolio of activities, the U.S. government supports a wide variety of training, workforce development, and higher education programs that strengthen faculties and administrations in developing countries. USAID alone devotes over $1 billion to education programming annually—a 700 percent increase since 2000.

Globally, the U.S. government currently spends over $2.5 billion per year in 90 countries to strenghten governance and democratic institutions.

The U.S. government is the largest donor to the Global Fund, having contributed more than $4.3 billion to date. The FY 2010 appropriations include an additional $1.05 billion for contribution to the Global Fund, subject to Congressional withholdings.

Through the President’s Climate Change Intitiative, we will continue to strive to meet the President’s commitment to provide our fair share of approaching $30 billion in international climate finance over the 2010 to 2012 period, including $1 billion to REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Plus) during this same timeframe. We will also place the United States on a trajectory to meet our long‐term Copenhagen commitment to jointly mobilize $100 billion per year in public and private sources by 2020 in the context of meaningful mitigation actions and transparency from developing countries.

The greatest irony is that during this UN Millenium Development Goals (MDG) Summit, the UN will be encouraging private sector/business involvement during their Private Sector Forum to meet the MDGs.

Despite the UN seeing global hunger reducing for the first time in 15 years, we’re seeing an inordinate push by transnational progressives for Americans to forget their own — to forget the US hitting poverty levels rivaling those from the 1960s, to forget how the well-being of American children has been set back to 1975 levels during Obama’s socialist rule. 

And of course, lest we get the wrong idea about what these global socialists are up to, Reuters even scrubbed their initial reporting of Ban Ki Moon’s appeal to “not to divert aid from the poor to shore up their own economies”:

WASHINGTON - US FIRST Lady Michelle Obama welcomes spouses of world leaders attending the UN General Assembly for a luncheon at a New York farm next week to highlight sustainable agriculture, the White House said on Friday.

The wife of President Barack Obama will next Friday join the visiting spouses to tour Stone Barns Centre, a non-profit farm and education centre north of New York, officials said.

'Spouses will take tours of the farm where they will see herbs and other ingredients that will be used in the luncheon... students from a local school will demonstrate their experiences in hands-on farming such as harvesting vegetables and collecting eggs from pasture-raised hens,' said the White House.

Located in Pocantico Hills, 50km north of New York city, the farm is a working operation that seeks to 'celebrate, teach and advance community-based food production,' and is host to the renowned Blue Hill restaurant where the visiting dignitaries will sit down for lunch.

Michelle Obama has championed healthy lifestyles since arriving in Washington after her husband's landmark 2008 win, and even spearheaded a working organic garden on the White House grounds.

The garden has yielded 725kg of vegetables, berries and herbs, used for White House events and donated to local Washington soup kitchens. – AFP
