Wonderful to hear from you! Since I'm a Sustainable Development researcher, I can tell you volumes of information. However, there are a few things that stand out about it that will describe it fairly briefly. Sustainable Development(SD) is another form of government, just like Communism, Capitalism, etc, only whereas Capitalism is based on a free market economy and private property rights, Sustainable Development is based upon the environment and no private property rights, ie, communism. So in essence, it is eco-governance, where earth and animals come before man, as opposed to man over earth and animals like we see in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic beliefs.
The problem is that Sust. Dev. is not ours. It is entirely used by a foreign governing body, which is the UN. The UN is attempting world domination, as you already know, and they had to have a form of governance in which there is a common denominator amongst every nation of the world. That common denominator is the environment. Sust. Dev. started to be implemented throughout all the UN member-nations after its introduction in 1992 at the UN's Conference on Habitat II in Rio De Janeiro. George Bush Sr. instantly agreed to it and brought it to America at the county levels.
The problem is how can we have both capitalism and Sustainable Dev. (SD) at the same time?? That is like saying we live in a captialist/communist nation, which is impossible. The UN's Charter is based almost word for word on the Commuinst Manifesto, and is therefore a communist governance structure. We see exactly how this is true by looking at the list of things the UN considers to be un-sustainable and plans to erradicate in all of the member nations. I have attached a partial list of the "un-sustainable" items for you to look over.
Now, how has it taken over? Well SD is a global-to-local action in which the mayors of the US attend UN conferences. The Mayors, like the Seattle Mayor, Baltimore Mayor, San Fran Cisco Mayor, etc, are treated like ambassadors at these conferences and are instructed to bring SD home to their cities and promote them to surrounding areas as well. They use different names for SD like Smart growth, Comprehensive Planning, Growth Management, and of course Agenda 21. It is out of all these UN programs that things like CAOs have sprung up.
The UN intends to remove all people from the rural areas and into Sustainable Cities, because they want the wildlife to have "their habitats" back, and the people are viewed as an intrusion to the natural environment. You will see this being talked about in the UN's program called the Wildlands Project, or its new mirror vision that was just signed by Obama in May 2010, called "America's Great Outdoors Initiative". This slowly pushes people off the rural lands over a period of a decade or so, through unbearable regulations.
The UN's 3 primary goals are:
1.) Food Control through the National Animal Identification System(NAIS), now re-named Animal Disease Traceability(ADT). This system has already diminished livestock ownership throughout the European Union by over 75% in the past 12 years that it has been in action, and has accomplished this through intensive regulations.
2.) Guns/weapons control - Hillary just signed the International gun ban treaty in May
3.) Population Control - the UN figures for optimal population is right around 500 million, and we're at almost 10 Billion, I believe.
Here's a quote that kind of illustrates the UN's sinister outlook:
In Sept 1995, Catherine Bertini, Exec. Director of the UN World Food Program and former assistant Sec. of Agriculture explained the plan at the UN's 4th World Conference on Women, held in Beijing, Red China; "Food is power," she said. "We use it to change behavior. Some may call that bribary. We do not apologize."
So Sustainable Development is often referred to by UN officials as behavior modification programs, in which "The polluter pays". Where, if you drive a lot, you pay the high gas prices. If you use more than their minimal water allowance, you have to pay extra, if you have more kids than they decide is sustainable in the future, you will pay more taxes annually, etc.
Last year in 2009, I went to give testimony against SD being implemented in Spokane, via the Seattle Mayor's instruction. We all gave passionate testimony against it at the hearing, but they passed it anyway. The Council members were told by the Mayor that they would pass it whether the City Council allowed it or not.........how is that legal?
What I didn't know at the time was that Spokane was only 1 of 500 major American cities that had it passed at the same time! We were reported as having been the only city out of all 500 cities, nation-wide, that protested it, because nobody else even understands that it is a UN agenda based in Communism. I call that a silent coup.
One of the biggest items on the UN's un-sustainable list is private property rights. That ought to tell you right there, what their agenda is all about with the CAOs, etc.
Joan Veon has attended more than 95 UN conferences worldwide and interviewed people like Mickael Gorbachev(sp?). She has an article called"Is the Queen of Canada the Queen of America ?" In that article she discusses a little known fact. Every member nation in the UN has only one vote in the UN, except England. England has 54 votes through all their Commonwealths and Provinces. The USA only has one vote in the UN.
Well anyway, where is there hope if the UN has not only got us by the county through SD, but also through 500 major cities in the US through SD? There IS HOPE, and I just stumbled across it last week. We have found a direct route to vote the UN out of each county through arranging a Congressional hearing county by county. It only takes a certain percentage of signatures to call for Congressional hearing. Then your Congressman shows up to preside over, but not inhibit the outcome of the hearing, you all vote to prohibit the UN from being in your county, and that's the end of the story for the UN in your county.
I met a lady from OR who did that exact thing. She said it was so easy, it was unbelievable. She said she started at one end of her valley and by the time she got to the other end, she had more than enough signatures. It required 250, and she got 450. The people showed up for the congressional hearing, they all took the vote, and voted the UN out. To this day, the Grant County Sheriff won't let a single UN official into his county. It is Grant County in OR, and is the ONLY county in the whole USA that has done that, to my knowledge. So...that is what I am currently working on for my July project.
I have my group of anti-SD people that are working together quietly to get the signatures for our county before it leaks out to any of the greenies. Once we have them, host our Congressional hearing at the local Hall, and we have voted the UN out, we can then build upon that and reason by logic, that if we don't want the UN, then we also don't want any UN programs either, and begin removing the SD programs., ie CAOs, Growth management, Smart Growth, etc.
So here's where you can look for more great info on SD: www.freedomadvocates.org & www.womensgroup.org (Joan Veon's Website)
This is probably so much more than you care to know, but its imperative for people to understand where all these regulations have come from to begin with. Otherwise, there is no hope of defeating the giant, which is the foreign UN government on domestic US soil.
Thanks again for writing!
Agenda 21 Alert: Global Warming Freeze

As the federal "Cap and Trade" bill falters in Congress, and resistance to the EPA's 18,000 page new regulation document grows, globalists are trying to bring about expanded control, using the discredited excuse of man-made global warming, on a state and local level. Maurice Strong, a Canadian oil billionaire, was also the Secretary General of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro where the unveiling of Agenda 21 occurred. He said, "....current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class, involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable."
