Is Global Governance or a New World Order the Real Goal???

The G8 World Currency Coin!

Medvedev sees single currency dream in G8 coin gift

L'AQUILA, Italy (AFP) — Even if Russia's call for a global currency failed to gain much traction at a G8 summit, President Dmitry Medvedev took home a coin meant to symbolize that the dream may one day come true.

The Russian leader proudly displayed the coin, which bears the English words "United Future World Currency", to journalists after the summit wrapped up in the quake-hit Italian town of L'Aquila.

Medvedev said that although the coin, which resembled a euro and featured the image of five leaves, was just a gift given to leaders it showed that people were beginning to think seriously about a new global currency.

"In all likelihood something similar could appear and it could be held in your hand and used as a means of payment," he told reporters. "This is the international currency."

Russia, along with China, has been a vocal proponent of diversifying the global currency system away from the dollar, which has dominated global finance and commerce since the end of World War II.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the summit joined the band in favour of dumping the dollar as the international currency of reference, insisting that "we cannot stick with just one single currency."

Currency Coin of the Future Presented to G8 Leaders

The sample of the first "test" currency from the international project for a new virtual global currency, given the draft name, "United Future World Currency – Eurodollar," was presented as the exclusive gift to Heads of State and Government at the G8 Summit: Barack H. Obama, Dmitij Anatolyevich Medvedev, Gordon Brown, Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel, Silvio Berlusconi, Taro Aso, Stephen Harper, Josè Mauel Barroso, Fredrik Reinfeldt.

United Future World Currency – Eurodollar coin

The final name and symbol for the new currency will be decided in a competition for children in 1000 schools throughout the world, organised by the Museo del Tempo.

The initiative began in Italy and enjoys the patronage of the Italian Prime Minister’s Office and the Italian Treasury. Although the initial aim is to unite the United States of America with the United States of Europe, it will also be open to other Countries.

The example of the Euro, which united Countries with different histories and cultures under the same currency, is a concrete precedent that demonstrates how this project can indeed come to life and gather together nations from several different continents.

In sending his best wishes for the project to its coordinator, Sandro Sassoli, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi emphasised that, "It is interesting that young students from different countries can get involved in an international project that helps them understand certain aspects of international economic policy, allowing them to prepare for the future monetary union that we hope for."

In 1996, Sandro Sassoli conceived the idea of the UFWC project, having taken advice from Arthur Schlessinger Jr, former adviser to President John F. Kennedy.

An international jury, comprising the heads of the world’s leading mints, economists, Nobel-prize winners, and figures from the world of culture and journalism, will have the task of selecting and rewarding the children’s best work concerning the new currency.

United Future World Currency – Eurodollar coinThe Royal Mint of Belgium, one of the world’s most prestigious mints, has been the first to issue a test coin for this new currency, a special rare gold edition that was gifted at G8 Summit.

The coin has been designed by Luc Luycx, author of the common side of the Euro coins.

The project will study security and anti-counterfeit measures; meanwhile, experimentation to seek innovative solutions for an "intelligent" money are also underway.

The currency will also undergo an important public test run at the 2015 Milan Universal Expo.

If Ronald Reagan had been handed something like this new world international coin, he would have gotten up and left! Gore boasts: 'Global governance' coming with carbon tax
Tells conference U.S. responding to warming threat with 'cap-and-trade'

Former Vice President Al Gore, whose "An Inconvenient Truth" video epistle on the claims of global warming has not weathered recent scientific research, now has promised at a conference in the United Kingdom that the impending virtual energy tax under the U.S. "cap-and-trade" legislation will bring about "global governance."

Gore, who this year famously left his Nashville mansion's driveway brightly illuminated during the "Earth Hour" event that promoted energy savings, was speaking at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment.

He cited the "cap-and-trade" legislation in the U.S. Congress that by President Obama's own estimate would cause utility bills to skyrocket for American consumers.

Those taxes are good, Gore said.

"But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change, and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global government and global agreements," he said.

His address was captured on video and posted on YouTube:

Only a few weeks ago, a former NASA climatologist asserted global warming simply isn't happening.

While so-called "global warming" was supposed to bring more and more horrific hurricanes, according to many scientists and politicians, since 2005 only one major hurricane has struck North America.

It was reported at the time that a new study by Florida State University researcher Ryan Maue showed worldwide cyclone activity – typhoons, as well as hurricanes – had reached at least a 30-year low.

Learn how close to home "global governance" really is by reading Jerome Corsi's New York Times best-seller, "The Late Great USA." This weekend only, get an autographed, hardcover copy for only $4.95 - a $21 discount!

And two more studies – one by the Leibniz Institute of Marine Science and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology in Germany and another by the University of Wisconsin – predict a slowing, or even a reversal of warming, for at least the next 10 to 20 years.

"The most recent global warming that began in 1977 is over, and the Earth has entered a new phase of global cooling," says Don Easterbrook, professor of geology at Western Washington University in Bellingham.

He maintains that a switch in Pacific Ocean currents "assures about three decades of global cooling. New solar data showing unusual absence of sun spots and changes in the sun’s magnetic field suggest ... the present episode of global cooling may be more severe than the cooling of 1945 to 1977."

Climatologist Joe D’Aleo of the International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project says new data "show that in five of the last seven decades since World War II, including this one, global temperatures have cooled while carbon dioxide has continued to rise."

Gore told the conference he was bringing "good news" from the U.S.: that President Obama had secured billions of dollars for renewable energy work.

He noted that two week ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey bill, "which for all of its flaws does put a price on carbon."

"It's very much a step in the right direction. It achieves real reductions below the 1990 base level by 2020, and that is the threshold that many have said … will dramatically increase the prospects for success," Gore said.

He said "awareness" will drive the change "through global governance."

Gore also discussed a lack of efficiency in energy processes.

At the Climate Depot website, writers recalled that French President Jacques Chirac in 2000 confirmed that the U.N.'s Kyoto Protocol – to which the U.S. has not subscribed – is "the first component of an authentic global governance."

He said, "For the first time, humanity is instituting a genuine instrument of global governance. From the very earliest age, we should make environmental awareness a major theme of education and a major theme of political debate, until respect for the environment comes to be as fundamental as safeguarding our rights and freedoms. By acting together, by building this unprecedented instrument, the first component of an authentic global governance, we are working for dialogue and peace."

At a later U.N. conference in Bali, Indonesia, Othmar Schwank, who has advocated for global taxes, said wealthly nations like the U.S. need to "contribute significantly more to this global fund."

According to a forum page participant at the London Times Online, Gore's endorsement of such taxes isn't altogether intended to solve problems.

"I've driven by Al's palatial digs in suburban Nashville and it is quite large. He got clowned recently for the size of his power bills and now is mad at the rest of us. He stands to make a mint over the Cap & Trade legislation if passed and signed into law," said one participant.

"We know your Scam Mr. Gore and the Globalists. Make CO2 a pollutant and then turn it into GOLD by trading it on the BOGUS open market for $$$. We know what you and your ilk are up to and we the people will defeat you. Follow the money!" said another.

"Global warming is NOT a problem. Al Gore is a nut. The earth has actually maintained average temperatures since 2001. It amazes me that the EU has drunk the cool aid and is jumping off the cliff with AL like lemmings. I hope the USA does not follow suit," said a third.

WND also reported that a team of scientists with years of expertise in climate issues recently wrote to Congress asserting the "sky is not falling" and there is no evidence man is causing global warming.

The letter was signed by physics professors Robert H. Austin and William Happer of Princeton, environmental sciences professor S. Fred Singer of the University of Virginia, retired manager for strategic planning at ExxonMobil Roger Cohen, physics professor (emeritus) Harold W. Lewis at UC-Santa Barbara and others.

Their names are tied to long lists of initials, including APS, or the American Physical Society; AAAS, or the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and AGU, or the American Geophysical Union.

WND also has reported on the Petition Project, which has compiled the signatures of more than 31,000 scientists, including some 9,000 Ph.D.s, who flatly reject the "global warming" agenda

Al Gore: global warming bill could help bring about global governance

July 13, 8:16 PM

From Marc Morano, at Climate Depot, comes the announcement we all knew was coming. In a speech on July 7, 2009 Al Gore proclaimed, “I bring you good news from the U.S....Just two weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill...very much a step in the right direction.” He made the statement in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times. Then he dropped the bomb when he said,

“But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements.”

Of course it was entirely appropriate to make this announcement in the one country where he still holds a political position, the United Kingdom. He is Gordon Brown's adviser on Climate Change where his primary responsibility is to get the United States to tackle Global Warming in the form of a carbon tax.

The report went on to say,

"Former EU Environment Minister Margot Wallstrom said, "Kyoto is about the economy, about leveling the playing field for big businesses worldwide." Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper once dismissed UN's Kyoto Protocol as a “socialist scheme.”

This echos the intentions of Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister according to an article by Richard Courtney with input from her UN Ambassador Sir Crispin Tickell. Got to hand it to the Brits. They are very patient.

Is he the first to state the obvious, to many of us who are aware, that Man-made global warming alarmism and the current environmental movement is not about the climate? It is about wealth redistribution from statements made by NASA Goddard Institute of Space Studies Chief James Hansen, and President Jacques Chirac. Chirac also voiced the intent of the global governance. One final quote from the report, "The tens of billions of dollars per year generated by a global tax would 'flow into a global Multilateral Adaptation Fund' to help nations cope with global warming" Here come the taxes folks. That is what it is really all about.

UN backs new new global currency reserve - US and Europe Reject Chinese and Russian Bid

Today it is a new global currency reserve... tomorrow it is a new global currency for all... Next year it is a new global (world) government and order...

A UNITED Nations panel of economists has proposed a new global currency reserve that would take over the US dollar-based system used for decades by international banks.

The proposal follows the controversial call by China's central bank governor, Zhou Xiaochuan, to create a new world currency reserve to replace the greenback as part of an overhaul of global finance.

China and many developing countries blame the global crisis on US mishandling of over-extended mortgage loans and investments in them.

With the US also borrowing trillions of dollars, it risks hyperinflation, which would considerably weaken the dollar.

An independently administered reserve currency could operate without conflicts posed by the US dollar and keep commodity prices more stable.

US and Europe Reject Chinese Bid for New Global Currency

A South Korean man walks past in front of a poster featuring a stack of dollars

Is the world too dependent on the dollar?

US and European policymakers are standing behind the dollar as the world's reserve currency. Their comments followed a Chinese bid to see the currency replaced by International Monetary Fund coinage.

An upcoming global economic summit could turn into a showdown over the dollar as the world's reserve currency.

China has publicly thrown its support behind other emerging economies such as Russia which want to shift the world's currency away from the dollar to a new currency run by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"The outbreak of the crisis and its spillover to the entire world reflected the inherent vulnerabilities and systemic risks in the existing international monetary system," People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said in a speech posted on the People's Bank of China's Web site.

Analysts say Zhou's recent comments are the latest sign of the country's growing assertiveness on the international stage. They also show a growing concern China has over the $1.7 trillion (1.3 trillion euros) it holds in US treasury bonds and reserve dollars.

US, Europe want dollar to stay

Obama gestures at a press conferenceObama doesn't see the need for a global currency (At least not yet)

The United States and Europe have dismissed the idea of doing away with the dollar as the international reserve currency. The European Union's top economic official said he thinks the dollar will remain the world's major reserve currency.

EU Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said he doesn't see "major structural changes in the role the dollar plays today as a major reserve currency."

Top US leaders, including President Barack Obama, said they want the dollar to keep its current status.

"I don't believe there is a need for a global currency," US President Barack Obama said at a press conference on Tuesday.

He noted that "the dollar is extraordinarily strong right now," and although the United States was "going through a rough patch" at present, the dollar enjoyed a "great deal of confidence" from investors.

Both US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said they would not support a plan to strip the dollar of its reserve status.

Issue likely to be debated at G20 summit

International Monetary Fund logoChina would like to see the IMF take a more prominent role

Yet the idea is likely to be floated anyway at an upcoming Group of 20 summit planned for London in April. The meeting of industrialized countries will bring together top leaders in hopes of finding a common approach to the global financial crisis.

People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said he would support moving away from the dollar to an IMF currency basket that would include a mixture of dollars, euros, sterling and yen. The IMF already created an international reserve asset in 1969, but the Special Drawing Rights, as it is called, is currently used only by governments and international institutions.

Russia has said it will bring up the proposal at the upcoming G20 meeting in London. Russia said its has broad support for its proposal among countries such as Brazil, India, China, South Korea and South Africa.

Not likely to happen anytime soon

In the near-term, such a radical departure from the way the global financial system works would be near impossible, economists say, although it could be feasible in the long term.

"The arguments for doing such a thing have economic merit, though the actual implementation of such a system would likely take a Herculean effort and a great deal of consensus building amongst economic powers," Sacha Tihanyi, currency strategist with Scotia Capital told AFP news agency.

"This is an idea, the idea of a global currency, determined by multilateral organizations, which is not new, but it's a serious proposal," John Lipsky, the IMF's first deputy managing director, said at a news conference in response to a question about China's proposal.

China growing more assertive

A man examines stock update on a display at a stock brokerage in Beijing, ChinaChina is the biggest US creditor

The recent comments by China's top banker follows on comments made by China's Premier earlier this month. They show how concerned the country is about its US assets.

"We have lent huge amounts of money to the United States. Of course we are concerned about the safety of our assets," Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said two weeks ago.

China holds US Treasury bonds worth $739.6 billion as of January. It is also the world's largest holder of US dollars as a reserve currency, holding more than $1 trillion, according to US government figures.

"China appears to be growing more and more assertive over its rights," currency analyst Andrew Busch of BMO Capital Markets told AFP news agency.

The dollar, which was installed as the reserve currency after World War II, has been regarded as a "safe haven" by international investors up to now.
