I am calling to all of you freedom-loving Americans to come once again to Washington D.C. to gather at upper Senate Park, across from the Capitol on Saturday, at 12 o’clock noon.

We must come by the thousands.

Speaker Pelosi will stop at nothing to fulfill her corrupt conquests. She will bring all of the corrupt ACORN liars to try to bully all the Democrats that may be having pangs of guilt knowing quite surely what their votes can and will do. If they’re bullied into saying “yes,” it will destroy America.

Join me and Rep. Michele Bachmann in Washington DC at 12 noon EST so we can give all the Democrats who know what the end result will be the courage to say: “No, do not pass this destructive bill.”

Not sure if you saw the clip, but Senator Arlen Specter told Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann to "act like a lady." He did so not just once but multiple times, and he did so on air.

His comments were sexist, disrespectful and condescending toward her and all women.

We cannot depend on the "women's groups" to step forward and object to his treatment of Bachmann, despite the fact that the odds of him ever speaking to a male colleague that way are slim to none.

Why?

Michelle Bachmann is a conservative woman and she's been active at 912 and similar gatherings.

Conservative women, as we well know, are the target of horrific attacks. The women's groups remain silent, leaving one able to conclude only that they support not women but only women who think like them.

I say it's time we stand up for those standing up for us. Bachmann has stood up repeatedly. It's cost her dearly, but she's done it because she believes. Now we need to stand up for her.

The CBO has scored the GOP health care reform alternative:

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed in a letter tonight that the Republican health care plan will lower health care premiums by up to 10 percent and reduce the deficit by $68 billion over 10 years without imposing tax increases on families and small businesses:

“When it comes to reforming health care, controlling skyrocketing costs is the American peoples’ top priority. Now CBO has confirmed that the Republican plan will lower health care costs for American families, and that’s good news for everyone struggling in today’s economy. The choice now could not be clearer: Speaker Pelosi’s plan raises costs. Our plan lowers them.

“Not only does the GOP plan lower health care costs, but it also increases access to quality care – including for those with pre-existing conditions – at a price our country can afford. The cost of the Speaker’s bill, now at $1.3 trillion and counting, is a debt that will be paid for by our kids and our grandkids. The American people deserve a better solution, and Republicans’ smart, fiscally-responsible plans give them exactly what they want.”

NOTE: In a letter delivered tonight, CBO estimated that the GOP health care plan would reduce average private health insurance premiums per enrollee in the United States relative to what they would be under current law. Specifically:

• For the small group market (generally businesses with 2 to 50 employees), the GOP plan would reduce premiums in 2016 for example by up to 10 percent.
• For the individual market, the GOP plan would reduce premiums in 2016 by up to eight percent.
• For the large group market, the GOP plan would reduce premiums in 2016 by up to three percent.

Now is the time to disabuse Nancy Pelosi of the delusional notion that she “won” election night.

Update 11:30am Eastern. Politico reports that thousands have descended on the Capitol. There have been a few arrests… of Code Pinkos who protested at Joe Lieberman’s office.

Capitol Police arrested nine protesters Thursday morning in the Hart Senate office building as thousands of Tea Party activists descended on the Capitol building to protest the trillion dollar health care bill and government spending.

The gathering was organized by local Tea Party groups around the country, who are arriving in Washington this morning by the busload. Conservative leaders in Congress, led by Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), have taken to the airwaves to encourage the activists to show up on the Capitol steps and demand meetings with members of Congress. The crowd is expected to grow into the thousands by noon, when Bachmann has promised to lead some protesters to a press conference inside the Capitol to express their opposition to the health care bill in person to members of Congress.

Speaking on conservative talker Laura Ingraham’s radio show this morning, Bachmann encouraged people listening to show up on the West Front steps, but she said they should show up with “cameras” instead of “pitchforks.”

A Capitol Police spokeswoman confirmed to POLITICO that nine activists were arrested in the Hart building, and they are being processed at police headquarters. All the buildings in the Capitol complex remain open for now.

The protesters, who are occupying the patch of grass only a few yards from where Barack Obama took the oath of office on Jan. 20, are chanting “you work for us!” Many are holding signs that echo their distrust of Obama and their belief that he is pursuing socialist policies.

We must remind them that we are watching and we will not fall back to sleep. WE still CAN stop this by numbers.

To help identify one another, I suggest we wear three ribbons on our lapels or wrist: red, white and blue. Bring your knowledge of the bill so you can discuss your opposition to it with intelligence. That means we should all commit to reading a section of the bill and share that information with one another in our discussions and blog posts. I would even suggest you print a copy of the section you are committed to read and bring that to Capitol Hill with you. As we walk the halls we can take some time to read the bill out loud, as we would stories to our children. Hence the name of this gathering: "Story Time For Congress." Remember to speak with boldness, not anger, and to hold to the truth.

For those who cannot get to Washington, go to your Representative’s local district offices and let the staff know you oppose this bill. Use the same knowledge and boldness as those of us in D.C.

Finally, if you can do neither, then call like crazy! Those of us in D.C. want to hear the phones in our Representatives office ringing off the hook. We need face-to-face, or voice-to-voice opposition to be heard. This is too important for emails!

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says today that she sent this letter to President Obama on the ACORN flap:

Dear Mr. President,

Last week, both the House and Senate voted to cut off federal funding to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) after videos emerged showing ACORN workers advising a couple on how to avoid taxes and seek HUD grants to set up a prostitution ring as a legitimate business. The American people were rightly outraged by this behavior and these motions passed with overwhelming bipartisan majorities, succeeding in the Senate by an 83 – 7 vote and the House by a 345 – 75 vote.

This is hardly the first time, however, that ACORN has made the headlines and the people have called for ACORN to be cut off from federal funds. In fact, there was a rather public debate about ACORN’s federal funding in the House in May when Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank led an effort to strip my language from the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act (H.R. 1728) that would have kept ACORN from accessing federal funds under that legislation because of their continuing involvement in voter registration efforts that ended in criminal investigations, indictments, and consent decrees.

Given this context, it was disappointing to hear that this issue hasn’t made it to your radar screen. As you stated yesterday on ABC’s This Week, “It's not really something I've followed closely. I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money… It's not something I'm paying a lot of attention to.”

In point of fact, ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct federal funding since 1994, could be eligible for at least $8.5 billion more through the “stimulus” package and other government programs signed into law this year, and could be eligible for an additional $1.5 billion from a housing slush fund the House is considering. With all due respect, Mr. President, I know that you are exceedingly busy and have any number of issues competing for your time and attention, and I know that in the scheme of trillion-dollar-bills and record high deficits and debts even $10 billion may not seem like much; but every dollar the taxpayers send to Washington deserves our full care and attention. The issue of where we set the bar for accessing federal funds should be a gateway issue for us all, as we have a fiduciary duty to the American people. Taxpayer funding is a privilege that must be earned and it is our responsibility – the President’s and Congress’ – to ensure that only those who have satisfied the highest standards are eligible.

As I have written your Administration before, I again urge you to use your existing authority to stop the flow of federal tax dollars to ACORN immediately and ask that you direct the Interagency Suspension and Debarment Committee to open an investigation of ACORN and its affiliates. Established in 1986, this long-standing Committee, coordinated through the Office of Management and Budget in the White House, is responsible for examining whether individuals and organizations should be barred from accessing federal funding and is authorized to suspend those they determine have acted improperly. ACORN’s long list of investigations and indictments, and the fresh evidence of illegal conduct caught on video tape should provide you and the Committee ample reason to take this action.

The American people view ACORN’s pattern of criminal activities as a serious issue and you must hold this organization accountable for its actions. Thank you for your consideration of this request and I look forward to hearing from you.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann told the Washington Times that she and her family will not be fully filling out the 2010 census forms.

Bachmann, a Republican, said her family will only be indicating the number of people in the household, because "the Constitution doesn't require any information beyond that."

Bachmann believes the upcoming census to be "very intricate" and "very personal" and expresses concerns about ACORN's involvement in the data collection. The community organizing program came under scrutiny after charges of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential elections.

"I think what the threat of ACORN would be deluding the ballot box and the effectiveness of our vote," she said. "They will be in charge of going door to door and collecting data from the American public, this is very concerning."

Bachmann also expressed frustration at the president's backing for ACORN, saying he has supplied $8.4 billion to ACORN since he has come into office, a number that far surpasses the $53 million given in the past 15 years.

"ACORN has received $53 million from 1994 to today, but now, since President Obama has come into office, he is making available $8.5 billion – with a 'b' - to ACORN, an organization that is repeatedly under indictment for voter fraud in multiple states across the country," Bachmann said. "This is the last organization that should have the taxpayer's wallet open to them but unfortunately, under President Obama, he is multiplying the amount of money available to them."

Bachmann has claimed the $8.5 billion available multiple times, but it should be noted that the St. Petersburg Times' affiliated fact check Web site, Politifact.com, disputes its accuracy.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Bachmann may be in trouble if she fails to fill out the entire census. Spokeswoman Shelly Lowe told the Washington Times that anyone over the age of 18 must fill out all the questions and any such person who refuses to answer "any of the questions" faces a $5,000 fine.
