The Media is the Real Enemy

By: James Simpson -  Right Side News

If you are a regular reader of Right Side News, you know that we bring you in-depth reporting on a broad range of issues in one convenient place. The last conference “The Most Important News Conference in History Part I” and Part II was widely read and shared across the internet and social networks.

The following article details a day-long conference held by Accuracy in Media on September 19th. This conference on the eye-popping media bias in favor of President Obama brings much new information to the table. Please read it in its entirety.

Since 1969, Accuracy in Media has striven to bring accuracy and balance to media reporting. Given that the Left-driven mass media daily overlooks, misrepresents or suppresses the truth to serve their agenda, this has been a valiant, David vs Goliath, if not a Don Quixote effort. But AIM soldiers on, bringing to light countless articles and exposés that shine a light on press bias while providing in-depth reporting about the real issues.

With this in mind, AIM recently held a day-long conference, “Obamanation; a Day of Truth.” This conference highlighted the media’s alarming reluctance to report or investigate anything derogatory about President Obama, and cataloged the many instances where, to the contrary, they shamelessly hype the President and suppress embarrassing information, while collaborating to attack and discredit his political rivals. Lately this has included the unprecedented step of suppressing vital information about the nature of the Benghazi attacks merely to shield the President from embarrassing revelations so close to the election.

Conference presenters included the following list of prominent policy experts and public figures:

Full bios of all speakers can be viewed here. The forum was hosted by AIM Editor Roger Aronoff.

Each presenter gave a prepared statement for 15–20 minutes followed by a question and answer session. The more animated speakers are often people who at one time worked with the Left. This was certainly true for at least one of AIM’s guests.

America’s True Enemy

Longtime Democrat Pat Caddell, who worked for Democratic Presidential candidates from 1972 to 1992, presented what was not really a speech but more of an impassioned plea. He came right out and called main stream media “the Enemy,” citing by name the Washington Post, the New York Times, ABC, NBC and CBS.

Caddell said that journalists have been biased for decades but when they decide, “…what truth that you may know, as an American, and what truth you are not allowed to know, they have, then, made themselves a fundamental threat to the democracy, and, in my opinion, made themselves the enemy of the American people.” (Emphasis added.)

He said:

“I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy… the overwhelming bias has become very real and very dangerous.”

Caddell cited a Gallup poll showing that Americans have the least faith in the news of any time in history. 60 percent said they had little or no trust in the media to report news accurately and fairly. Not surprisingly this split is partisan: 58 percent of Democrats claim to trust the coverage while only 26 percent of Republicans do. Only 31 percent of independents have a high degree of trust, a fact that should alarm Obama and the Democrats.

The Audacity of Corruption

Calling his presentation “The Audacity of Corruption,” Caddell offered stunning examples of media silence regarding what should be major stories. For example, while Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans died due to virtually nonexistent security at the Benghazi consulate – a known hotspot – Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett continues to have a full-time Secret Service detail, even on vacations. Caddell revealed that just prior to replacing David Axelrod as Senior Advisor to President Obama, former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe was paid $100,000 by an Iranian front group to give two speeches in Nigeria. Caddell stated:

… here’s a man who’s being paid by an already named front group for… a terrorist regime, and is not asked about it, or queried about it!

Caddell made a number of stunning revelations and pointed observations:

  • $16.4 billion – 80 percent – of Obama “Green Energy” loans went to firms owned or invested in by individuals “ who were bundlers, members of Obama’s National Finance Committee, or large donors to the Democratic Party.” No media coverage.
  • Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s number one goal is to obtain release for Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, mastermind of the 1993 WTC bombing. No media coverage.
  • An intelligence source asserts that the White House and State Department are negotiating that release now! No media coverage.
  • White House National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, an unscrupulous political hack with no experience in national security, is the reputed White House leaker. No media coverage.
  • The press gives Democrats hundreds of millions in in-kind contributions through their relentless bias and PR campaign for Obama.
  • Republicans are unwilling to challenge the media. This needs to STOP.
  • Too many Republicans, Like Romney advisor Ed Gillespie, who works with former Clinton attorney Jack Quinn, won’t rock the boat because they want to preserve relationships.

He noted the press response to Libya:

.. we’ve had nine days of lies over what happened because they can’t dare say it’s a terrorist attack, and the press won’t push this. Twenty American embassies, yesterday, were under attack. None of that is on the national news. None of it is being pressed in the papers. If a President of either party—I don’t care whether it was Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton or George Bush or Ronald Reagan or George H. W. Bush—had a terrorist incident, and got on an airplane after saying something, and flown off to a fundraiser in Las Vegas, they would have been crucified!

Caddell also lambasted the Romney campaign for its ineptitude in calling out either Obama or the media on these eye-popping lapses:

This is not without accomplices, because the incompetence of the [Mitt] Romney campaign, which I said a week ago is the—my God!—the worst campaign in my lifetime, and the Republican establishment in general’s inability to fight, has allowed these things to happen in part because they don’t [fight].

I urge you to watch Caddell’s presentation in its entirety. He delivers a message we cannot overlook.

Caddell was genuinely angry and one of the most animated speakers of the day, but he was not the only one.

Gaffney and McCarthy:

Muslim Infiltration into the United States

Frank Gaffney and Andrew McCarthy both spoke about Muslim infiltration into the United States. They covered too much ground to be adequately described in this essay.

(Andrew McCarthy transcript and video here: Andy McCarthy – “Holder’s Department of Injustice”)

Gaffney has created a free online video series titled, “The Muslim Brotherhood in America: A Course in 10 parts.” Each video is about 20 minutes and very well done. Points raised:

  • Shariah is a totalitarian doctrine. Its adherents – notably, the Muslim Brotherhood – seek to bring it here.
  • Shariah is principally about power, not faith. Accordingly, acting to realize its political end of overthrowing the U.S. government is seditious and must be prosecuted not treated as protected religious practice.
  • In most countries where it operates, the Brotherhood is in a pre-violent phase.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic plan is a “civilization-jihadist process… a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” by our hands.
  • Civilization jihad is being pursued through stealthy means involving the penetration and subversion of civil society and governing institutions.
  • The military calls “information dominance,” the Brotherhood’s effort to keep us ignorant of the threat. They have been increasingly effective at this over the past ten years.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood was helped in its efforts to achieve information dominance over the George W. Bush administration, thanks to collaboration between al Qaeda financier, Abdurahman Alamoudi, and anti-tax activist Grover Norquist.

See Part I of 10: The Muslim Brotherhood in America below and all 10 Parts HERE.

Alamoudi is currently serving a 23 year sentence for helping finance a plot to murder Saudi Crown Prince (now King) Abdullah. In the 1990s, Alamoudi’s American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council received certification from the Defense Department to approve Muslim chaplains for the U.S. armed forces in the 1990s. He participated, with the ACLU in creating legal justifications for limiting Christmas celebrations in public schools.

  • Norquist helped mainstream in the Bush campaign and/or administration five other Muslims with extensive ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. They were: the Islamic Free Market Institute’s Khalid Saffuri, CAIR’s Nihad Awad, Palestinian Jihad’s Sami al-Arian, the Fiqh Council’s Muzzamil Siddiqi and Suhail Khan, a former staffer for Rep. Tom Campbell of California.
  • In his capacity as the de facto Muslim gatekeeper in the Office of Public Liaison under senior Bush advisor Karl Rove, and then as an assistant in the personal office of the Secretary of Transportation, Khan had, at a minimum, an opportunity to facilitate the penetration of other Islamists.
  • Both during and after the Bush administration, Norquist has used various organizations to promote Islamist agendas. These have included Red-Green coalitions made up of radical and other leftists and Muslim Brotherhood front groups.
  • Norquist has worked for years to “create relations with top political leaders and Muslims,” including running Muslims for elective office as Republicans. Three of his protégés – Kamal Nawash, Faisal Gill and Imad “David” Ramadan – have run for state legislative seats in Virginia.
  • Norquist continues to support Islamist agenda items and to work to counter initiatives opposed by the Brothers. He has collaborated with radical leftists and Islamists in Red-Green Coalitions, the latter include Iranian influence operations.
  • The precedents, personnel and policies promoted by Norquist and his friends during the George W. Bush administration have metastasized under President Obama.
  • Notably, six Islamist-sympathizers have achieved positions within or advisory roles serving Team Obama: Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Rashad Hussein; Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Huma Abedein; Presidential advisor Dalia Mogahed; FBI Citizens Academy graduate Kifah Mustafa; Homeland Security Advisory Committee Member Mohamed Elibiary and Homeland Security Countering Violent Extremism Working Group Member Mohamed Magid.
  • Muslim Brotherhood successes include policies and directives emanating from the White House, and priorities and activities of: the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Departments of State, Justice, Defense and Homeland Security and even NASA.

There is an urgent need for rigorous congressional oversight and investigations aimed at exposing the extent of the civilization jihad – and the need for corrective action aimed at countering it, particularly by federal authorities.

McCarthy added that Muslims believe Shariah is Allah’s gift to the world. He quoted the President of Turkey, who said, “Democracy is the train to our destination.”

Gaffney left the audience with a final remark that the Strait of Hormuz may close shortly.

Betsy McCaughey: Death Panel Reality and the Destruction of Medicare

In-Depth AIM Interview with Betsy McCaughey

Dr. Betsy McCaughey is perhaps the foremost expert on Obamacare. She was also instrumental in defeating Hillary Clinton’s similar socialized medicine scheme back in 1994. She was the first health care policy expert to warn of the impending Obamacare proposals in 2009.

She revealed that Obama healthcare advisor, Ezekiel Emanuel, former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s brother, advocated what have become known as “Death Panels.” The media ridiculed Sarah Palin for warning about them, and McCaughey was similarly reviled in the press for spreading “false rumors.” Obamacare advocates and their media defenders disingenuously argued that the Obamacare bill contained no such provision.

The truth, McCaughey revealed, was that the framework for their creation was already codified in law through a provision snuck into the stimulus bill. Now, one of Obama’s closest advisors, former Car Czar Steven Rattner, is admitting that Obamacare will require rationing in a New York Times Op Ed subtitled “We need death panels.”

This is big news! Sarah Palin was right all along (we knew that of course.) Where is the media mea culpa? Where is the media coverage even?

Crickets.

In this conference, Dr. McCaughey described in detail how Obamacare is going to ruin Medicare. She again raised the specter of death panels and explained that Obamacare requires extreme cuts to Medicare that will necessitate commensurate cuts in healthcare services to seniors. Some of the life-saving procedures that are routine today will become completely unavailable, and the necessary rationing will begin. Some key points:

  • Obamacare cuts $247 billion from hospital Medicare reimbursements over ten years.
  • Since Medicare already reimburses hospitals less than service costs, this will necessitate service reductions.
  • This and other budget cuts will reduce nursing and other hospital staff by 93,000.
  • Beginning in October 2012, the Obama administration will reward hospitals that spend less on seniors and penalize those that spend more.
  • Cuts will eventually cause an estimated 40 percent of hospitals to operate at a loss.
  • 15 percent of hospitals may stop accepting Medicare patients.
  • An estimated 35,000 seniors will die annually as the result of reduced care.

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr.: The Constitution, Founding Fathers and Religious Freedom

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr. campaigned for Virginia’s U.S. Senate seat in the GOP primaries. He spoke on religious liberty and the Constitution, noting how the Obama administration demonstrates contempt for the Constitution every day. “I think we are being led by people who don’t respect our Constitution. They just fundamentally don’t think it’s important,” he said.

He quoted EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum who has said “Sexual freedom must always win over the First Amendment.” Even though sexual freedom’s not mentioned in the Constitution and the First Amendment is the first right that’s recognized by the Constitution, she says, “No, no, no, the First Amendment liberties of the American people must give way.”

Jackson said that Republicans have an historic opportunity to reach out to blacks due to this administration’s radical stances on abortion and gay marriage, which most blacks strongly disagree with.

Bishop Jackson’s presentation can be viewed in its entirety and transcript, here, or watch below.

John Fund: Voter Suppression and the Corrupt Machines

John Fund has written two books on voter fraud: Who's Counting? and Stealing Elections  and is an acknowledged expert on the issue. Fund discussed the Left’s effort to mischaracterize voter integrity efforts as minority “voter suppression,” resurrecting yet again the race card. The sad truth he explained, is that inner city minorities do suffer voter suppression because those areas are usually controlled by corrupt leftist political machines. Reform democrats have attempted to change the system but have been prevented from doing so by the corrupt machines. Minorities suffer poor schools, poor services, with high taxes and high crime, while their votes are literally stolen by corrupt politicians. The idea that voter ID laws suppress the minority vote is absurd. 75 percent of voters favor photo ID laws for voting. Even liberal democrats favor voter ID laws.

Jack Cashill

Jack Cashill has published many books and wrote a series of articles asserting that Obama neighbor and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers wrote Obama’s “autobiography” Dreams from My Father (which has now been edited and re-written to remove references to Frank Marshall Davis and other incriminating material). Despite impeccable journalistic credentials, including ghostwriting books for other authors, Cashill’s stories have been completely ignored by the media – even conservative media. Subsequently, Author Christopher Andersen interviewed people who knew Obama for his biography. They said that Obama was unable to meet deadlines and submitted tapes, notes and a partially written manuscript for Ayers to complete. So Cashill has been vindicated, but the media will still not acknowledge the truth.

Cashill says, “Obama did not write Dreams. Period.” In his research, Cashill stumbled across Ayers’ book, “Fugitive Days” and surmised that Ayers had the same ghost writer as Obama because the writing was so similar. Then he learned that Ayers had exemplary writing skills, and due to his time as a merchant seaman, uses many nautical metaphors – metaphors which appear repeatedly in Dreams. The few original works credited to Obama, e.g. his anti-war essay from Columbia, were fraught with errors.

Edward Klein

Klein is a former New York Times writer with impeccable credentials. He has written a book about Obama titled, “The Amateur.” He thoroughly researched the book, including an interview with Obama’s controversial pastor, Jeremiah Wright. He spent three hours with Wright, who said that Obama representatives visited him numerous times in secret trying to convince him to shut up. Klein’s book makes the case that Obama is “Temperamentally unsuited for executive leadership.” Klein quotes Majority Leader John Boehner as saying that Obama “doesn’t know who makes decisions, how they make decisions or who is in charge.” Klein added that Obama is “in revolt” against the system that elected him, and that, “Every single black businessman I spoke to said they were disappointed with Obama’s performance.”

Katie Pavlich

Katie Pavlich has written an authoritative book on the Fast and Furious scandal. She reported that the recent DOJ Inspector General report regarding the scandal was written largely by longtime Eric Holder friend, former IG Cynthia Schnedar, even though it is signed by the current IG, Michael Horowitz, an employee in the job only five months. With Fast and Furious, the goal was to regulate gun stores out of business, not legislate them out of business. Katie’s entire presentation can be viewed here. Roger Aronoff has written a good summary, here.

In the coming days, videos of all presenters will be available at the AIM website, here.

We Can No Longer Trust a Beclowned American Media…

Most everyone knows that the bulk of those in the mainstream media lean left but they now have become so blatantly partisan that it is embarrassing for them, but should also be frightening to every American and lover of freedom!  The media must be neutral or at least balanced in its coverage because it is their job to be the watchdog… a fair impartial watchdog.  We no longer have that in America.  M~

clip_image001

American Media

Ronald Reagan:  “Peace through strength!”

Barack Obama: “Turmoil through weakness and apologies”

And last night on the main news outlets 9-minutes were spent demonizing Mitt Romney over his Reaganesque type comments, after reporters colluded to ambush him at a press conference, for standing up and speaking out against our embassies being attacked in Egypt and Libya and 4-Americans being murdered including our Ambassador to Libya.  Only 25-seconds were spent on what was actually going on in the Middle East…  Are we being had? You be the judge.

Red State:

Yesterday, as the American consulate in Libya was smoking and the rioters were returning in Egypt, the President of the United States flew off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser while his spokesman was telling the American press corps that yesterday wasn’t really a normal political day. Had it been George W. Bush, the media would, right now, be marching on the White House with pitch forks and torches. Remember, on 9/11, as events were unfolding in Washington, the American media was crying for President Bush to return to Washington. They wanted Daddy at home in the White House where he could tuck them in bed, damn the security issues of getting him there.

I get that Chuck Todd is a former Democrat hill staffer. I get that the Politico is riddled with Democrats, some former activists and a former staffer for Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I get that Michael Scherer from Time magazine is a left wing reporter for Mother Jones and Salon.com turned respectable, “objective” journalist. I get that Ben Smith, leading up Buzz Feed, is a leftwing journalist paraded about as if he is some sort of objective reporter at a trendy site full of cat photos. [Editor's Note: Totally forgot to include Journolist and have updated to include it] I get that precious Ezra Klein started Journolist so reporters and political operatives could collaborate on the news and narrative and now he sits at the Washington Post and gets trotted out as a fact checker. What I really get is that the American media runs with a herd mentality, leans left, and yesterday collectively fell over their group think as they leaned so far left to focus on Mitt Romney and not President Obama. Yesterday, the American media beclowned itself in ways I didn’t really even think was possible, even knowing how in the tank for Barack Obama they are.

Yesterday, we learned that there were no Marines protecting our Ambassador to Libya despite State Department warnings about violence and kidnappings in the Benghazi. We already knew Al Qaeda was coming on strong there. But we relied on locals for support and now we know the locals betrayed us as they have in the past in Afghanistan and Iraq too.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Night before last, the President condemned Mitt Romney in harsher tones than he condemned the rioters. It took him until sun up yesterday to condemn them.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the media spent much time condemning the Coptic Christians for their movie, but we now know the movie had been out for months and we also know the riots were orchestrated in advance. We also know the attack on the American consulate in Libya used the riots as cover for the attack.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a man who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, called an American civilian to ask him to stop exercising his first amendment rights.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

We also now know that the President, close to 60% of the time, has opted for printed intelligence briefings, which this White House thinks are as useful as an intelligence officer in the room who the President can probe, prod, challenge, and question.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

And in focusing on Mitt Romney, finally, of all the places, Slate and Dave Weigel finally point out that Mitt Romney’s gaffe was no gaffe, it was a consistent view of foreign policy foreign to the ears of the political press. He, I, and many others really do think Barack Obama is an apologist. We really do think his speech to Cairo after his entrance to the White House was part of a world apology tour. And we sure as hell think his actions in the past year to foster the Arab Spring were the actions of a naive fool.

But then the media has been playing the naive fool for him.

UPDATE: A friend points out that what the news media is doing here is roughly what they did after Trayvon Martin’s killing. They rushed to judgment, got basic facts wrong, and then sensationalized it with audio experts and what not only to have to beat a path to retreat later.

Comments:

Christine:

Romney did what we hoped he would do - showed some spine and spoke up rather than just sit there or spout pleasantries to the President. We should strongly support that and encourage EVERY Republican to do the same. Speak up. Talk about this, don't just hide in a corner or let the LSM walk on them.

One "journolist" said on Twitter yesterday that Romney's election chances are in trouble because he's somehow offended "the press". These things also should be put out in the daylight for as many as possible to see.

sayoung80913:

lol, they are pulling out the Palin playbook with Romney- it worked then, but apparently unbeknownst to those in the media- their time came and went with The Daily Caller publishing little Ezra Klein's emails regarding Journolist.  Not familiar?  See: Journolists: The Truth of Media Fraud Confirmed and Politico Palin Alert: Vast Left Wing Conspiracy’s Mission: Sarah Palin Must Be Destroyed Uncovered!

FNC's Democrat Kirsten Powers Slams 'Utterly Insane' Media 'Obsession' With Attacking Romney

Video: Open mic shows press pool coordinating question if Romney regretted criticizing Obama on Egypt

NewsBusters:

Appearing on Fox News's America Live on Thursday, Daily Beast columnist and Democratic pundit Kirsten Powers ripped the liberal media for expressing more outrage over Mitt Romney's reaction to Tuesday's embassy attacks, than toward the attackers themselves: "I mean, it is just absolutely utterly insane the way that they have elevated this." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Powers worried that the blatant bias had "overshadowed any kind of outrage that you would see over the fact that you have Islamic flags being hoisted over American embassies, the fact that an American ambassador is dead."

Acknowledging the Democratic perspective, Powers explained: "...let's just stipulate that, for the sake of argument, that Romney shouldn't have done it [criticized Obama] – I don't agree with that – it still would not explain the obsession with Romney's statement over these horrific events that are unfolding in front of us."
Later in the discussion, host Megyn Kelly asked Powers: "You always have to look back at, you know, when detecting media – you know, potential media bias, you look back at what would the media have done if this had happened on George Bush's watch?"
Powers denounced the double standard:

Yeah. It would have been completely radically different. Look, like I said, even if you agree that Mitt Romney did something wrong, okay, look at that, but let's also look at the Obama administration. It was just radio silence....why didn't they know that these attacks were coming? Was Obama getting his intelligence briefings? I mean these are the issues that should be being asked and would be being asked if this had happened on George Bush's watch.

Here are portions of the September 13 discussion:

2:36PM ET
(...)
MEGYN KELLY: And just so our viewers know, what happened was the U.S. embassy, just to refresh you, in Cairo, came out with a statement condemning "the misguided individuals who tried to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims." Then they got attacked and they doubled down on that statement. Mitt Romney came out and criticized the statement, saying, "that's disgraceful that the administration's first response was not to condemn the attacks on the diplomatic mission, but to sympathize with those waging them." Later, Washington pulled back the embassy statement and said we didn't authorize it either. So Kirsten, you wound up having the Obama administration and Mitt Romney agreeing that the embassy statement was not appropriate. And yet, the whole media narrative yesterday was how awful Governor Romney was for pointing it out.

Video:  How the Media is Handling the MidEast Crisis, Gov. Romney and the President

KIRSTEN POWERS: Oh yeah, it's still the media narrative. And the thing is, the outrage that has been expressed over the fact that Mitt Romney put out this statement has even overshadowed any kind of outrage that you would see over the fact that you have Islamic flags being hoisted over American embassies, the fact that an American ambassador is dead. I mean you just are not seeing the same level of outrage over just the process of what time he put the statement out. I mean, it is just absolutely utterly insane the way that they have elevated this. And even if we stipulated, Megyn, let's just stipulate that, for the sake of argument, that Romney shouldn't have done it – I don't agree with that – it still would not explain the obsession with Romney's statement over these horrific events that are unfolding in front of us.
(...)
KELLY: And Kirsten, you always have to look back at, you know, when detecting media – you know, potential media bias, you look back at what would the media have done if this had happened on George Bush's watch?
POWERS: Oh, yeah.
KELLY: If we had had these attacks on the embassies and the consulates.
POWERS: Yeah. It would have been completely radically different. Look, like I said, even if you agree that Mitt Romney did something wrong, okay, look at that, but let's also look at the Obama administration. It was just radio silence. You know, they allowed that statement to stay up on an embassy web site, which is taken as the official position of the U.S. government. This person was, someone was tweeting from the official account and they didn't – they didn't come out and say a word. So what's that about? And did they know – why didn't they know that these attacks were coming? Was Obama getting his intelligence briefings? I mean these are the issues that should be being asked and would be being asked if this had happened on George Bush's watch.
(...)
POWERS: One of the things that a lot of liberals are complaining about is they're saying that Mitt Romney attacked Obama, basically saying this was his statement, which of course, we all thought it was the Obama administration's statement because it was on the embassy web site. But even if it wasn't, what has he said that's any different than that? You know, I mean he hasn't used that exact phrasing, but we could not have had a weaker response to this if we just sat around and tried to think of like, what's the weakest thing we could do? And that initial statement was weak, and now we have a continued – the administration coming out and condemning this movie as if the movie caused this attack. The fanatics attacked the embassy. They're going to attack us whether there's a movie or there's not a movie. And they are continuing to do – the sentiment in that original statement continues to be the sentiment of the Obama administration.

Brent Bozell's picture

Barack Obama has morphed into Jimmy Carter before our eyes, said Brent Bozzel the founder and president of the Media Research Center
but the liberal media have refused to report on the Obama Administration’s failed foreign policy of apologies and appeasement. Terrified to hurt Obama’s chances of re-election, they are shamelessly seizing on this horrific attack on Americans abroad to push their go-to narrative that Mitt Romney is tone deaf.

Romney rightly criticized the Obama Administration for its spineless apology to thugs whose idea of ‘diplomacy’ is intimidation, violence and murder. As the façade of the ‘Arab Spring’ continues to fracture and crumble away, the media have shifted to a strategy of distraction and omission.

These are the same media that hailed Obama’s Libya policy as ‘deft’ and proclaimed that his ‘victories’ in the Middle East would ‘burnish his credentials as a world leader.’ NBC’s David Gregory said Obama would ‘use [that] experience as a club against Republicans.’ Instead of letting Obama club the Republicans, the media administered a beating on Romney.

There were two political stories to report yesterday, and the liberal media deliberately chose to amplify the insignificant one because it damaged Romney and helped Obama’s chances to win re-election.  The hope is that the American people are a lot smarter than the leftist media gives them credit for.

Another common sense journalist, Diana West, the author of "The Death of the Grown-Up: How America's Arrested Development Is Bringing Down Western Civilization”, blasts Obama and Clinton for their concern over hurting Muslims 'feelings': Islamic law does not nullify 1st Amendment!

For anyone who is not up on the events that led to Romney’s comments and the open mic incident highlighting the media’s favoritism, media collusion and the left’s disdain for the true purpose of their careers and responsibility as watchdogs as well as for the American people see:  U.S. Embassy Attacked: CNN Breaking News @ 14:06 EDST on 9/11, From Egypt… Then Libya, No Comments From Obama – Updated and  Day Late… Dollar Short… Spinner in Chief

Related:

U.S. identifies anti-Muslim filmmaker -  Really… Our government is now identifying film makers, like they did our seal team, to terrorists?  And instead of focusing on the problems with our government’s actions, the MSM is deriding Romney’s quick and presidential response and show of strength against the actions, including the murder of our Ambassador, Christopher Stevens, by Muslim terrorists against American Embassies in Egypt and Libya.

Obama was at a fundraiser in Nevada, missing his Intel briefing, instead of dealing with the emergency and virtually simultaneously announced he would be appearing on Letterman in New York on the same day that he said he could not work a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu if Israel into his schedule.  But now the White House is bad-mouthing Governor Romney and the media is covering Obama’s inept back. Hello? What am I missing? Americans get attacked, Barack Hussein Obama apologizes, Romney calls Obama on it and the media says Romney made a gaffe?  And want him to apologize… What?

Again… Ronald Reagan said “Peace through strength!”  Mitt Romney is following suit!  Obama and Hillary are still apologizing… the last time we had very similar circumstances was when the last appeasement president, Jimmy Carter, was in the White House and Iranian terrorists took over the American Embassy in Iran.  The American people elected Ronald Reagan soon thereafter and all the prisoners were quickly released… something that weak Carter could not negotiate.  Hmmm… sounding familiar?

If you are interested in the truth or at least both sides of an argument make sure that you add Fox News, The Blaze now on Dish 212 and a variety of perspectives from online blogs to your news intake… If you are watching and getting all your news from  CNN, PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC or MSNBC you are only seeing the news from a left-wing perspective and from what you can see from above… a lot is missing or skewed.

From The Honolulu Advertiser: In 1728, Ben Franklin opened a printing office in Philadelphia. He produced a newspaper called The Pennsylvania Gazette and his annual Poor Richard’s Almanack.

Journalism used to be an honorable profession dating back to the time of the heralds. Journalism is writing history in real time. It isn’t the business of peering backwards through a glass darkly in a retrospective. It isn’t consensus. It isn’t repeating the meme. It isn’t filtered for political correctness or partisanship. It’s raw and, in its pure form, the unvarnished reality – the deeply disturbing photo of a summary execution, the hysterical observation of the conflagration of a crashing Zeppelin or the fearless observation that a government official has violated both the law of the land – even including the Constitution – and international treaties by supplying arms to active criminals in a subversive effort to abrogate the rights of his own citizenry.

Journalism isn’t who you are, journalism is what you do. It is the courage to tell the truth regardless of personal risk. And so it used to be; today though, we live in an age where being a “professional journalist” means having a license to lie.

When I first saw the video above, I was overcome by several emotions. The first of which was incredulity closely followed by anger as I just could not believe how viciously Juan Williams attacked Michelle Malkin, slinging at her what he considered an insult: “I’m a real reporter, I’m not a blogger out in the blogosphere somewhere…” He couldn’t debate her in the present with a solid retort, so he resorted to what he deemed insults. When Williams was unjustly fired from NPR, the entire conservative blogosphere stood up as one and defended him vociferously. Let’s see, it took him a matter of seconds to revert to his bitter liberal ways, I believe. Juan, I’ve got news for you. The old media is dead, not dying, dead. The new media is what real journalism is – unfettered, real and in your face. A reporter used to make his bones as a journalist by breaking a big story and I do believe you’ve forgotten what that is like. You can just toddle off back to your dinosaur media roots, where all you have to do is look good and pretend to be wise while your viewership slips into oblivion. It’s time for the big boys and girls to roll up their sleeves and do the real work you faux journalists can’t be bothered to do.

If being a true journalist is defined by bravery, ethics, excellent writing and oratory skills – well Juan Williams doesn’t begin to compare to Michelle Malkin. He also obviously has poor manners and is like a cornered badger when he is losing an argument – he bites first and asks questions later (in an arrogant, condescending manner of course). Malkin is a true reporter of the first order and here’s one for ya, Juan… people actually read what she writes and listen to what she says. I’m sure that is a foreign concept to you.

I could not be at Right Online 2012 in Vegas this year, but I listened to Michelle in the above video. She was incredible! And I am sure that Andrew Breitbart is looking down from heaven and smiling that impish smile of his. I know he would be very proud of Michelle and all the other bloggers who are carrying on and fighting the fight of our lives. Bloggers are exposing tyranny and corruption wherever they find it regardless of credit or fame. Because that is what real journalists do, that is what bloggers do.

I have been blogging for about 11 years now. Neal Boortz gave me my first break and I will miss him – he’s retiring this year and Herman Cain will take his place. Michelle Malkin was actually one of the first people who got me looking into Progressives and the Obama administration. Trevor Loudon was the other. Both are giants in the reporting world and both are mentors of mine. Most of the information out there today came from bloggers – you just don’t hear it on the “news.” The mainstream media is in the bag for the Obama administration and many, if not most, are Marxists. Yep, I went there.

So, ask yourself this, whom do you trust? Those that hobnob with Marxists and hate this country and our Constitution or the bloggers who uncover the truth, sometimes risking their lives to do so? We do this in our spare time with no pay and little gratitude and lots of hate. I’m just a blogger, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world, just for freedom.

‘Disgusting Lies’: First Dude Todd Palin Responds to Outlandish Anti-Sarah Book

The allegations against former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin just keep getting wilder. On Wednesday, The Blaze covered “The Rogue,” the shocking, new anti-Palin book that makes some pretty outlandish charges.

Aside from claiming that the former Alaska governor has snorted cocaine and used marijuana, the book’s author, Joe McGinniss, goes on to write that she has had scandalous affairs. With press for the book beginning to come in a steady stream, Todd Palin (Alaska’s former “First Dude”) isn’t taking the punches sitting down.

In a statement to reporters, Mr. Palin said the book is filled with “disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears.” As for its author, he had plenty more to divulge.

“This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife,” he said. “Even The New York Times called this book ‘dated, petty,’ and that it ‘chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.’”

In citing the Times, Mr. Palin was likely trying to make the point that the newspaper, which is regarded by many conservatives as being left-of-center, took a skeptical stand on the book. In her article, Times reviewer Janet Maslin writes:

Although most of “The Rogue” is dated, petty and easily available to anyone with Internet access, Mr. McGinniss used his time in Alaska to chase caustic, unsubstantiated gossip about the Palins, often from unnamed sources like “one resident” and “a friend.”

Mr. McGinniss’s most quotable, inflammatory lines call Ms. Palin a clown, a nitwit, a rabid wolf and a lap dancer — and those aren’t the parts that assail her as a wife and parent.

There is one area, and only one, in which “The Rogue” is dead-on. Mr. McGinniss knows how publicity works.

Certainly not a favorable take on McGinniss’ work. Although it should be noted that the title of the review piece is, “Sarah Palin Could See This Guy From Her House.” Clearly, this was penned in an effort to play on the 2008 campaign hoopla over Palin’s statement that Russia can be seen from Alaska lands (a true statement, in fact).

The book will be released on September 20, just days away from the time during which Palin may announce a run for the American presidency. A plotted timing on behalf of McGinniss? It’s likely.

The Hate for Sarah Palin

By Mark Levin - March 14, 2011

The corporate hate for Sarah Palin at Politico is obvious. The latest is here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/51218.html

But if you google Politico and Palin, the evidence of a Politico agenda is overwhelming. And the manner in whichPalin_on_O'Reilly Politico’s editors pursue their hate-Palin agenda is to cherry-pick the individuals they quote to make the point they want made.

A couple of quick things: 1. As I demonstrated last week, remarkably George Will missed the Reagan Revolution not only in 1976 but as late as 1980.  In the 1979 Republican Presidential Primary, his first choice was Howard Baker, his second choice was George H. W. Bush, and his third choice was Reagan.  Not until days before the 1980 general election did he write on November 3, 1980 that Reagan deserved election.  For all his wonderful columns, the Republican electorate better understood the needs of the nation and the excellence of a potential Reagan presidency than Will.  It is hard to believe he was so wrong about a matter of such great import, despite Reagan's presence on the national scene for many years.  2. Charles Krauthammer was not only wrong about Reagan, as late as 1980 he was a speech-writer for Vice President Walter Mondale.  Krauthammer, like Will, not only missed the significance of the Reagan candidacy, but was putting words in the mouth of a terribly flawed politician from a philosophical perspective. I certainly do not begrudge, but in fact encourage, liberals becoming conservatives or Democrats becoming Republicans.  Reagan was a Democrat who famously changed parties.  But I do not believe that individuals touted by a left-wing "news" site as two of the leading conservative intellectuals, who stunningly opposed Reagan's candidacy while both were of mature age and mind, are necessarily reliable barometers in this regard.  The "non-intellectual" voters knew better.  3. It is apparent that several of President George W. Bush's former senior staffers are hostile to Sarah Palin, including Karl Rove, David Frum, and Pete Wehner, to name only three. (Even Barbara put her two cents into the hate soup!)  Pete is a good friend and a very smart guy.  That said, Bush's record, at best, is marginally conservative, and depending on the issue, worse.  In fact, the Tea Party movement is, in part, a negative reaction to Bush's profligate spending (including his expansion of a bankrupt Medicare program to include prescription drugs).  And while Bush's spending comes nowhere near Barack Obama's, that is not the standard.  Moreover, Bush was not exactly among our most articulate presidents, let alone conservative voices.  I raise this not to compare Bush to Palin, but to point out only a few of the situational aspects of the criticism from the Bush community corner.  (If necessary, and if challenged, I will take the time to lay out the case in all its particulars, as well as other non-conservative Bush policies and statements.  No Republican president is perfect, of course, but certainly some are more perfect that others, if you will.)

This is not to say the folks cherry-picked by Politico are without accomplishment and merit.  They clearly are accomplished.  But that's not the point.  Most were not involved in either the Reagan Revolution or the Tea Party movement, and were not, to the best of my knowledge, early outspoken supporters of either.  What is necessary is a fulsome debate on each candidate's substance and policy positions.  Most of these Politico stories are little more than excuses to attack Palin, intended to damage her early on in case she should decide to run.  This has been going on for some time now.  If she is as weak as some think, why the obsession?  Why the contempt?  Moreover, Palin has used social media and other outlets to comment substantively on a wide range of issues and policies.  In fact, she has spoken on a wider array of issues than Youtube governor Chris Christie, popular among most of these folks, and her positions have, for the most part, been solidly conservative.  (Christie's positions on numerous issues important to conservatives are all but ignored by some of those complaining about Palin; indeed, the same could be said of potential presidential contenders Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, and Mitch Daniels, among others.)  My purpose in mentioning Christie here is to juxtapose the demands by "the intellectuals" on one politician versus another.  Their inquisitiveness seems influenced by their political bias.  That's not unusual, but it requires underscoring lest their opinions be viewed or promoted as objective.

palin-reaganAs a Reaganite pre-dating Reagan’s 1976 candidacy, the contempt for Palin does, in fact, reminds me of the contempt some had for Reagan, especially from the media and Republican establishment, although no comparison is exact. I’ve not settled on a favorite would-be presidential candidate, but I also know media hit-jobs when I see them. I am hopeful more conservatives will begin to speak out about this or, before we know it, we will wonder why we are holding our noses and voting for another Republican endorsed by “the intellectuals” but opposed by a majority of the people.
