BECK GOES GLOBAL, MEETS WITH CATHOLIC CLERGY & INTERNATIONAL TEA PARTY LEADERS IN ROME

For those who watch GBTV, you know that Beck was off for a few days on assignment.

The political discourse has been dominated by the religious liberty debate that continues to intensify between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration – an issue that Glenn Beck has tackled quite frequently on his radio and television programs. This weekend, The Blaze has confirmed that Beck flew from Miami to Rome, where he had meetings with prominent Catholic Church leaders. In addition to holding discussions with them about important religious freedom issues, Beck also met with individuals from various countries to discuss the creation of an international Tea Party movement.

During his dialogue with Cardinals, Monsignors, Archbishops and other Catholic leaders, the popular host pledged support for the church, while also discussing ways in which members of various faith communities can join in solidarity against secular attacks against religion. As evidenced through his work, Beck has long encouraged people of all faiths to stand together — distinct and separate in their beliefs — but united in their support of everyone to practice those ideals without persecution.

Additionally, Beck met with Tea Party leaders from Rome, Serbia, Milan, Germany, Austria, and London, among other localities, to begin discussing an international coalition that is being headed by FreedomWorks. Reflecting the ideals held by peace and freedom proponents in America, the persons involved discussed their goals for an integrated global effort to champion Tea Party ideals.

Be sure to listen to his radio show on Monday, as Beck will be sharing all of the details surrounding his meetings with church leaders and international Tea Party groups, while also delving into his vision for a multi-faith coalition that stands in support of religious liberty. Additionally, throughout the upcoming week, The Blaze will provide ongoing information and follow-up reports that further explain what’s to come.

These meetings with Catholic leaders are the latest in a series of discussions that Beck has had with numerous faith leaders, including evangelical pastors and rabbis, among others. His efforts to connect with these theologically diverse individuals reflect his desire to bring adherents from various faith traditions together to support religious liberty here in America and abroad.

“We are not battling for the next election, we’re battling for the very soul of each of us and of our nation,” he recently proclaimed on GBTV.

Religious liberty is becoming an issue of great importance across the globe, as Christians, Jews, Muslims and other faith traditions grapple with an increasingly hostile clash with the atheist and “freethinking” community. Additionally, governmental policies are, in many ways, beginning to mirror secularist ideals that tend, in the views of many religious peoples and institutions, to threaten spiritual expression.

The examples are limitless. Earlier this month, England’s high court found prayer before local council meetings to be unlawful, and last week Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, a Muslim who is also a British Cabinet member, maintained that Europe is being threatened by militant secularism. Considering New York City churches’ battle for the right to rent public school buildings, incessant attacks on Ten Commandment displays, and secularists’ never-ending efforts to force churches to violate their consciences, Beck’s coalition is coming at an appropriate time.

In addition to holding these meetings, Beck went to Greece in preparation for a special project he will soon be announcing. Tune in to GlennBeck.com, GBTV and The Blaze for more on these important announcements.

Dead Movement Walking: Pelosi Tries to Distance Herself and Dems from #Occupy Movement

Of course, when the #Occupy movement first arose, Pelosi and and other members of the Leftist Elite gushed with enthusiasm about the protests:

“I support the message to the establishment, whether it’s Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen,” said Pelosi in an exclusive interview with ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour. “We cannot continue in a way this is not relevant to their lives.”

As for the Tea Party, few in Washington and none in the power elite supported them.  They are the grassroots movement and they are still alive!

Patriots of the Year – 2011

clip_image002

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton  -  The NoisyRoom

The Tea Party once again was shunned by major media in 2011. But they were there punching away and fighting for America under many names with millions of patriots striving to save our country and return to Constitutional principles. In virtually every city across the United States, Tea Party members got involved in local and national politics and raised their voices in unison to cry for smaller government, less debt and lower taxes.

And at the forefront were unsung fighters like Andrea Shea King of The Radio Patriot and her producer Dave Logan of ThirdWaveDave fame. Andrea and Dave are the heart and soul of the Tea Party and have fought tirelessly this last year through The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama to further the goals of everyone’s dream – to get the Marxist-in-Chief out of the White House. Others, such as Michael Johns, also toured and spoke at rallies, working his fanny off trying to revive the Republic. Trevor Loudon traveled to the US on his own dime and spent months speaking at Tea Party rallies out of love for a country that is not his own. (By the way, did I mention New Zealand rocks?) We owe each and every person in the Tea Party a huge debt of gratitude – a few who are willing to risk it all, so that many may be free.

But alas, media propagandist Time, did not see it that way. Instead they chose aMarxist/terrorist, er, Protester as Person of the Year. In 2010, which was unwaveringly the year of the Tea Party, they didn’t mention Tea Partiers at all, even though millions protested in peace with no arrests, violence or garbage left behind. The media labeled them radicals and terrorists, which is the epitome of irony considering what the Occupiers actually are and stand for. Same for 2011 for the Tea Party – crickets. But in a move that Joseph Goebbels would have been proud of, the Occupiers grace Time’s cover this year.

clip_image004

But the joke is on Time and the rest of the MSM that are in the tank for Obama and the Progressives on both sides of the aisle. The Tea Party is growing stronger day by day even without face time. Americans recognize the US is in deep, deep doodoo and are fed up with politicians in general.

Instead they are turning towards candidates with American values such as Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. Voters have put Tea Party candidates in the House and Senate and that trend will only continue. The Left took a beating in 2010, but baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Come 2012, there’s gonna be an ass whooping of epic proportions. And guess what? That includes the RINOs on the right. Progressives on both sides of the aisle are about to have their collective bottoms spanked big time by the voters. Americans are not dumb and they’ve just about had enough. Don’t underestimate the Tea Party – they are the Progressive’s worst nightmare.

clip_image006

So, we welcome 2012 as the ‘Year of Freedom Restored in America!’ It is fitting that January is ‘Hot Tea Month.’ And honey, the Tea Party is just getting warmed up. We are taking our country back and cleaning house. We are researching and exposing all those naughty Progressives who have been so instrumental in trying to bring this great nation to her knees.

The Tea Party fought a rough and tough battle in 2011. But they’ll win the war for the Republic in 2012 if they stick to their guns and chase the corrupt bastards out of office. Whether with votes or tar and feathers, it’s going to be one hell of a ride and I would not miss it for the world.

The Tea Party… Madness from the Left

The tea party is not a party… It is a movement more than a party. And rarely has a movement been so anonymous, so faceless.  The tea party, taking their name from the Boston Tea Party in colonial times when they stood up to the King of England against taxation without representation… for being taxed too much, against their will and without being heard by the Crown, is an idea that developed into the modern day movement made up of everyday… ‘main street’ Americans.  It is a movement of “We the People” who have woken up and are standing up against our King George and his unbridled spending and ‘for’ fiscal responsibility and governance based on the U.S. Constitution, things those colonists who dressed up as Indians that threw tea that was being unfairly taxed into Boston Harbor and their compatriots went on to spill their blood and give their lives for… so we could live free as part of the ‘Great American Experiment’… the hope for the average man not only in America but around the world.

You can always tell who and what the Left fears or is throwing a wrench into their plans (Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Michelle Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, the Tea Party Movement) because that is who they go after and demonize relentlessly through the mainstream media which they all but control.  It is part of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and the Cloward and Piven strategy to create chaos and Obama, the people he surrounds himself with and the Progressive leftist elites subscribe to.  If you are not read Rules for Radicals and are not familiar with Cloward and Piven it is essential to understand the madness!  Making sense of the left’s actions without reading those is like going to church without ever opening the Bible.

The Democrat’s latest mantra is if you can’t blame George Bush… blame the tea party.

JOE BIDEN - Whipping up Dems.

After the debt ceiling fight in Congress our Vice President Joe Biden condemned Tea Party Republicans for "acting like terrorists" during the debt fight, sources said and there were plenty of sources and witnesses. (This is not that unusual for this administration who had the head of Homeland Security create a watch list almost first thing after taking power of patriots and people of all kinds who disagreed with them like conservative bloggers.)

Biden made the shocking statement during a closed-door meeting with House Democrats to try to whip up support for the debt-limit deal, according to the sources… and some were willing to spill the beans to the NY Times.

The vice president was reacting to an irate Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.), who said Democrats "have negotiated with terrorists," Politico.com reported.

"This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money," Doyle added.

Biden agreed, saying, "They have acted like terrorists," the report said.

The over-the-top rhetoric hit a nerve with Republicans.

"With the president holding the American economy hostage, I would prefer to think of myself as a freedom fighter," bristled Tea Party champion Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

"The only people taking hostages around here are those who want to continue our path toward economic ruin."

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus demanded an apology and said Biden "more than crossed a line."

Biden later denied making the comment, insisting to CBS News, "I did not use the terrorism word."

"What happened was there were some people who said they felt like they were being held hostage by terrorists. I never said that they were terrorists or weren't terrorists, I just let them vent," Biden said.

We all know Biden’s penchant for colorful remarks and language and his less than good judgment in choice of time and place to use them, making it even more believable that he said exactly was reported by the NY Times (read full article)

Smearing the tea party is a strategy that just might back fire on them however, because lets face it, attacking the tea party is attacking middle America, concerned Americans and fiscal conservatives from all parties and alliances: Democrats, Independents, Libertarians as well as Republicans.

As initial survey data showed (click here), a sizable portion of the Tea Party movement is non-Republican. A Gallup poll from March 2010 found that 50% of "Tea Party identifiers" were Republicans while 43% identified as independents and 7% as Democrats. That's a perfect 50:50 split. If anything it has become more mixed by party affiliation and race since then.

And to assume that these attacks come from Joe Biden alone or a small handful of people on the left is just another example of the Ostrich Syndrome.  Within hours of the disappointing and unpopular debt ceiling and crisis compromise and then the AAA credit rating downgrade by S&P blame was focused on the tea party by Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid, ultra-liberal Senator John Kerry, and just about every Progressive Democrat that made a comment.  There was obviously a  ‘Progressive memo’, with the phrase ‘tea party downgrade’ and similar follow-up comments sent out and then repeated all over the news virtually verbatim.  The origination of the term ‘Tea Party downgrade’ is being credited to Obama henchman and campaign strategist David Alexrod who used it in an interview on Face the Nation.

Obama Conversation With Tea Partier Gets Heated – Fox

See Video: HERE  -  I guess asking a question is now unacceptable even when the President goes on the road to ‘talk with the people’?

DECORAH, Iowa – President Obama got into a heated back-and-forth Monday with a Tea Party activist who demanded to know at the end of a town hall meeting whether Vice President Biden had called Tea Partiers “terrorists” during the debt ceiling debate on Capitol Hill.

In public, Obama did not directly answer the question from Iowa Tea Party activist Ryan Rhodes about Biden. But Obama fired back that he knows better than anyone what it’s like to be slammed for his political views and was not about to accept a lecture on the topic.

“Now, in fairness, since I’ve been called a socialist who wasn’t born in this country, who is destroying America and taking away its freedoms because I passed a health care bill, I’m all for lowering the rhetoric," Obama said.

Obama did say he would discuss the matter further with Rhodes, founder of the Iowa Tea Party, after the event. And the duo was spotted in an animated conversation a few moments later.

In an interview later with Fox News, Rhodes said that the president had insisted that Biden had not made the original comment.

“He just denied it. He said the vice president didn't make any of those assertions,” Rhodes said. “If he doesn’t want to even admit what was on TV nationally -- all over the place -- then how can you have a conversation?”

Rhodes added that Obama brushed him aside. “Then he said, ‘We can't have a conversation because you're saying I called you a terrorist,’” recalled Rhodes. “The fact is it demonstrates the deep divide that he is unwilling to negotiate without going after the other side. The whole day was about going after Republicans and talking about how unreasonable they are.”

The private conversation between Rhodes and Obama was partially picked up by a TV camera, but the audio was tough to make out. Obama in general seemed to be saying the incident with Biden was misconstrued and that if Rhodes wanted to insist that the word “terrorist” was used then they were never going to see eye to eye.

The incident stems from a private meeting Biden attended, at the height of the debt ceiling debate, with House Democrats who were angry that Republicans were not meeting the president halfway. One lawmaker, Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Pa., went so far as to say that Republicans affiliated with the Tea Party had behaved like “terrorists” during the debate.

Some Democrats familiar with the meeting said at the time that Biden had appeared to agree with the sentiment expressed by Doyle and others as a way of moving the conversation along and convincing Democrats to support the final compromise. But Biden himself denied to CBS News that he had uttered the word “terrorist” in the meeting in the context of the Tea Party.

Here in Iowa, some people in the crowd seemed to be unhappy with Rhodes others were supportive. One woman was overheard confronting him by saying, “That was extraordinarily rude” to the president.

A second woman who did not want to be identified by name said she felt the exchange was “over the top aggressive.”

But others congratulated Rhodes on standing up and felt he was perfectly within acceptable limits and just did what he had to to get the president to even acknowledge his question.

But Rhodes was not backing down. “I said my piece,” he said.  (As it should be!!)

I am someone who has always believed that we need to respect the office of the presidency even if we don’t like the occupant, but even cautious former press secretary Dana Perino said that the President has left himself open for this type of challenge because of his own behavior and actions… or inactions.

As Senator Charlie Schumer (D-NY) recently let slip in a radio interview, there's a concerted effort by Democrats to demonize the Tea Party. So that being said and with the statements being made, the Tea Party has the right to defend themselves!

The tea party movement is you and me… patriotic concerned Americans who love our Country and who want it to survive for our kids and grandkids.  It, and some of the people the left have demonized the most, are what stands between us and the fundamental transformation of America.  The choice of who we follow and if we care enough to educate ourselves, get involved and stand up between now and the Election in 2012 will determine the fate of the United States of America and the idea of American Exceptionalism!

One of the greatest challenges in the 2012 Election will be voter fraud and that is an area, through volunteering, monitoring and staying engaged that the tea party and concerned Americans in general can make a difference.

Ask Marion~

If you are not familiar with the grassroots tea party movement there are some books about it: Give Us Liberty, The Tea Party Manifesto and That's No Angry Mob, That's My Mom, but the best thing you can do is go to one of their events in your local area or in support of an issue you care about and meet the people involved. You just might run into your neighbor or someone from work or church!!

What the Tea Party Movement is and Is Not…

4000 at Tea Party - ChicagoGrassroots Tea Party Movement Out in Force in Chicago

A very interesting story about how the New York Times is finally giving tea party groups media coverage. What is so interesting is they are painting all tea party goers as right wing fanatics, calling for sedition, armed conflict and such.

While the the majority of tea party goers are concerned Americans try to effect representative government. The attempt by the left wing media now to demonize the movement is an affront to every one who is not a radical right wing nut. So being a tea party member I implore all members to stick to the issues and advise all members to do the same. We do not want to be demonized by the left wing media and its supporters (George Soros) who will do everything to discredit the movement.

This is from an earlier post on one of AARP’s Political Blogs by a well-researched, very enlightened blogger…

It is surprising how many political commentators on radio and TV, in newspapers and magazines, talk show hosts and members of both major political parties have a very large misunderstanding of what the Tea Party Movement is all about. They make an invalidate assumption, and then rant and rave believing that their assumption is actual fact.

Let me attempt to clarify.

WHAT THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT IS NOT.

* It is not an attack on Obama. He just happened to be the President in power, when the dam burst.

* It is not an attack against the Democratic Party.

* It is not a movement in support of the Republican party.

WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT?

* It is a protest against the way government is run, whether the Republicans are in power, or the Democrats are in power. It is a protest against government being run either from the extreme right or the extreme left.

The members of the Tea Party movement did not all come from one Political Party. The members are made up, in equal parts, of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents.

WHAT THE MEMBERS OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT ARE OPPOSED TO.

* Against politicians whose main role in life is getting elected and reelected.

* Against politicians ignoring the wishes of their constituents and voting per the instruction of party leaders.

* Against politicians who vote for bills, without reading them

* Against SWEET HEART deals with lobbyists, unions, big business, and major contributors*

* Against politicians who accept “favors”, meals, event tickets, travel, lodging, meals, etc from lobbyists.

* Against politicians who feel that it beneath them to respond to their constituent’s request, meetings, phone calls, etc.

* Against mortgaging the financial future of our children and grandchildren

* Against closed door deals

* Against earmarks (pork)

* Against the lack of transparency on proposed legislation.

* Against politicians who take expensive junkets, at taxpayer expense, for no apparent justifiable reason

* Against politicians who are paid $ 175,000 per year, plus an un taxable $93,000, petty cash fund, to only work 3 days a week when Congress is in session, but who seldom bother to make an appearance during those three days.

* Against political payoffs to politicians in order to “buy their vote"

*· Against politicians who make speeches running down and apologizing for our country

* Against politicians who have a large staff, paid for by tax payer funds, whose jobs are totally dependent upon satisfying the desires of the elected official they work for, rather than their constituents

* Against politicians who feel they they know better than we do regarding how we should run our lives

* Other

WHAT THE MEMBERS OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT ARE FOR

* Politicians who believe that our government should be a government of the people, by the people and for the

* Politicians who are concerned with that which is best for the country, rather than what’s best for their political future.

* Politicians who believe and follow the principles laid down in The Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution.

* Fiscal responsibility – Spending only the money available and not constantly borrowing against the future

* Eliminating high cost “perks” that are only available to elected officials

* Establishing a special fund for FICA contributions and not throwing Social Security money into the general fund, which Congress immediately spends

* Elimination of earmarks – pork

* Transparency of all proposed legislation – require that the complete text of all proposed legislation be posted on the Internet for a minimum of 72 hours prior to allowing that legislation to be voted upon.

* Other, but you get the idea

The New York Times article typical of what the left does best... demonize everyone who opposes them. Alinsky followers every last one, including Hillary Clinton!!

Remember their slogan, the end justifies any means!!

TPP Statement on Tea Party Political Party – Movement Says NO on Third Party Ambitions

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

There is much talk of the formation of a third political party based on the tea party movement.

Tea Party Patriots is issuing this statement in order to make it clear that we are not associated with any attempts to form a third party. Additionally, we believe that such efforts are unproductive and unwise at this time. The history of third party movements in this country is one of division and defeat. We believe that it is instead time for all Americans to rise up and demand appropriate reform within their own parties. The mechanisms exist for
citizens to participate in their parties, and to drive their parties in the right direction.

The Tea Party Patriots encourage all citizens to get involved in the party process, and to reshape their parties into something in which they may once again believe. This country does not belong to any one party, nor does it belong to the career politicians. This country belongs to the citizens. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "We have given you a republic madam, if you can keep it." The founders knew that it would be our sacred obligation as
citizens to get involved, and to work hard to hold on to this great
nation. We have much work to do, and future generations will look back in judgment. We hope you will join us in preserving the republic.

You are the heart and soul of the Tea Party Movement. Thank you for promoting the causes of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets with us!

How Many People Attended the 9/12 March in DC?

Latest Update: Glenn Beck appeared on Greta Wire tonight and said the latest attendance count they got (from a flyover helicopter scan) was 1.7 million

Leaders of Saturday's 912 Project rally in the Nation's Capital are dismissing estimates that the crowd numbered only "tens of thousands" as "intentional misrepresentations."

Crowd estimates of the event varied widely. ABC News reported that the crowd numbered 1.5 million and then were pressured by the powers that be to change their estimates to between 60,000 to 70,000. The Associated Press reported it was in the "tens of thousands," a figure echoed Monday morning on MSNBC. Both of these estimates are ‘ridiculously low’, according to rally organizers.

The London Daily Mail reported "as many as" 1 million people attended. The Daily Mail reported that the crowd "shocked the White House." But if so, that was not reflected by the administration's official statements. Instead , White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs issued the insulting report that he “I don't know who the group is when asked about his reaction to the demonstration. In fact, the administration's remarks before the event appeared to echo statements made prior to the July 4 Tea Party protests, suggesting the event wasn't even a blip on President Obama's radar… HMMM guess that is why the President decided to get out of town on that particular day and why a memo was intercepted from Congress that the Dems wanted to show the event as a failure?!? ABC initially reported 1.5 million in attendance and then retracted. And the highest estimate was 2 million.

Bill Line, communications officer for the national capital region for the U.S. national park service, told Newsmax that ‘no official’ estimate of the crowd's size had been issued; a bit strange don’t you think? "For any event national mall or in any of the various related parks adjacent to it, we do not give crowd estimates," Line said. HMMM… I don’t quite remember that being the case for the Million Man even for Promise keepers, President Obama’s Inauguration and others!

More than 20 different conservative grassroots organizations – including the 912 Project, FreedomWorks, Tea Party Patriots, and Grassfire.org – participated in the rally. And you know that the White House and Congress know who Armey Archer/FreedomWorks is… Mr. Gibbs!!

Demonstrators chanted "Enough! Enough!" Others waved signs with messages such as "Go Green, Recycle Congress," and "I'm Not Your ATM" and "Just Say No to Chicago-Style Politics."

Everett Wilkinson, a national leader for the Tea Party Patriots group, says the crowd size caught the park police by surprise – so much so they ordered the event to begin several hours earlier than planned to maintain crowd control.

"I showed up a little before 8:30 a.m. at Freedom Plaza, where we were staging for the event," Wilkinson told David A. Patton of Newsmax. "I was there about a half hour early and it was hard to get to the stage at that time. Around 9:20 or so, I was on stage and the park police came up and said, 'If it keeps growing at this rate we're going to have to ask you guys to start early.' "About 20 minutes or so later they came up, a little before 10, and said, 'You need to start the march NOW!' It was about an hour and half or so before we had expected to begin. We had overwhelmed the area. From what I understand, we had a couple hundred thousand minimum at that time."

From Freedom Plaza the crowd marched down Pennsylvania Avenue for hours toward the Capitol.

Videos on YouTube show an overflow crowd on the Mall stretching from the Capitol back toward the Washington Monument.

A USAToday report during the Inauguration demonstrated that such an area could easily contain over one million persons, perhaps even up to two million, but accurately estimating the size of any crowd can be problematic. That's because the number of attendees depends on crowd density. Estimates of density often require expert analysis of aerial photographs.

Anecdotal evidence, however, suggests the actual attendance may have been far larger than reported by several media outlets.

"Looking out from the stage," Wilkinson says, "people appeared to be lined up all the way to the Washington Monument. I could tell the crowd kept growing until at least two or three o'clock…. It was shoulder-to-shoulder people, and there was nowhere to move…"

Wilkinson wouldn't rule out the possibility that up to 2 million attended the rally. As for media reports that the number was far less, Wilkinson says: "I think it's intentional misrepresentation. The most novice and naked eye could see the video in the shots taken that there were hundreds of thousands, millions of people there.

"When you have the park police and the D.C. police literally telling us to march two hours before hand, from an area that holds a couple hundred thousand people, saying, 'There's no room, you need to march NOW' … we had tens of thousands probably by 9:30. It was millions by 1 o'clock.

"We literally shut down the highways, the red line rail station had to change things around," he adds. "Looking at the videos posted on YouTube, you can tell it was millions. We completed surrounded the Capitol."

The mainstream media also overlooked the many regional rallies held throughout the country on Saturday to show support for the D.C. event.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that over 1,500 people gathered Saturday for a rally on the lawn of the Utah state capitol. Similarly, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that over 1,000 people braved heavy rain to march in that city's downtown area, chanting "You lie!" and "No more czars!" And there were many other rallies (many in bad weather) all over the country… California, Minnesota, Indiana, etc etc.

Here's one way to think about it: Those who estimated 60,000 to 70,000 would have us believe that if a capacity crowd from the Orange Bowl would fill the yellow areas shown here.

He supplies this schematic, which suggests ‘far more’ than the 75,000 estimate floating out there:

Other attempts at estimating the crowd size include Rand Simberg's two calculations that are very interesting and yield ranges from around 250,000 to 2 million Hat tip: Mark Hemingway at The Corner.

And there's this Pajamas Media analysis, which yields an estimate of 850,000, the same number apparently that actually showed up for Obama's inauguration (after initial reports of 2 million). Funny who we didn’t get any question of that number or the accurate re-estimate?!? Having been in DC for both the 9/12 march and Obama's swearing-in, there's no question the latter event was much, much more populated… just more Obamaland spin!

Amazingly the liberal New York Times wrote a very fair coverage piece on the 9/12 March on Washington. The Problem was they buried it on pager 37. Kudos to the L.A. Times who ran their story in Sunday’s paper on page 1.

And about the Liberal Democratic “Angry Mob” thing… Official stats: “0” Zero arrests!

Yes, the picture is real, nutroots

By Michelle Malkin • September 12, 2009 10:51 PM

I was offline for most of the afternoon and early evening — and just learned that the nutroots are claiming that the screenshot of the 9/12 march in D.C. that I posted — taken from a livecam of the event that I linked to here— is somehow “fake.”

The claim is that the shot came from the Kennedy procession or a previous left-wing protest and that the flag at half-mast proves that it was “fake.”

Newsflash for the clueless: Flags were still at half-mast earlier today in honor of the murder victims of the 9/11 jihadi attacks.

Guess the 9/11-was-an-inside jobbers are still that much in denial.

Unbelievable.

Yes, this is real:

And so is this:

The real U.S. unemployment rate is 16 percent if persons who have dropped out of the labor pool and those working less than they would like are counted, a Federal Reserve official said Wednesday.

"If one considers the people who would like a job but have stopped looking -- so-called discouraged workers -- and those who are working fewer hours than they want, the unemployment rate would move from the official 9.4 percent to 16 percent," said Atlanta Fed chief Dennis Lockhart.

Do you believe the Obama administration when they say the economy is getting better? If so… why are we now doing Cash for Appliances?

Inhofe slams health reform

At a town hall meeting Wednesday Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) told Chickasha residents he does not need to read the 1,000 page health care reform bill, he will simply vote against it.

"I don't have to read it, or know what's in it. I'm going to oppose it anyways," he said.

Inhofe said public opinion and information provided by news media have helped him become a staunch non-supporter of the bill. He said he would prefer waiting until after mid-term elections in 2010 to enact reforms. He did not say nothing should be done. He simply feels that a topic as important as healthcare should not be rushed through the Senate or House of Representatives.

City Council Member Hank Ross agreed with Inhofe. Ross owns a medical care company in Chickasha. He said he does not believe the government would be efficient in providing care and would like to see reforms happen at a slower pace.

"I personally think Obama has over reached," Ross said. "I think we need to treat this with kid gloves and do it right."

Inhofe also spoke about the diminishing military budget and the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center, but healthcare was the hot button subject.

Inhofe took the opportunity to blame Democrats for a bevy of issues. He lashed out at democrats for overtaking the government and spending billions of dollars on unpopular packages. He said government is becoming too big and overreaching its boundaries.

"People are not buying these concepts that are completely foreign to America," Inhofe said. "We're almost reaching a revolution in this country."

Many in the meeting agreed and were vocal about their disdain for the current climate in Washington.

"No more compromise," Chickasha resident Ed Hicks said. "We're losing our country."

Inhofe's town hall meeting was much like others happening during the Senate's recess. Except there was no dissent, just concerns about change and what is happening in Washington. Health care reform was the main topic of discussion, but some voiced their worries that the Cap and Trade bill would hurt local oil producers. Others were worried about their Second Amendment right and their ability to own and carry firearms.

Inhofe tried to squelch the concerns, but until Republicans take control of at least one branch of the government it will be an uphill battle. He said he will do anything he can to keep fighting and promote the wants and needs of his constituents when he returns to Washington next month.

College kids recruited to join Obama's 'army'

Earn credit for pushing 'change,' working on president's 'agenda'

Organizing for America offers opportunities for college credit

President Obama's army of citizen volunteers is now actively recruiting college students in states across the country to "build support for President Obama's agenda" – and earn college credit while advocating for "change."

Obama for America, Obama's 2008 political campaign, merged with the Democratic National Committee in January and is now known as Organizing for America, or OFA. The movement some call "Obama 2.0" is now recruiting students and offering to provide credits toward degree plans in exchange for their advocacy skills.

A message from OFA national volunteer coordinators announcing the recruitment campaign and internship opportunities has been posted on several websites and on Facebook.

"Students and young people were critical in building the movement that helped elect President Obama last year. By becoming a National Organizing Intern, you'll be part of the grassroots effort to make the change we fought for a reality in 2009 and beyond," it states. "As an Organizing Intern, you'll work side by side with OFA staff and community leaders to help build support for President Obama's agenda. You'll learn core organizing principles that are crucial for any campaign and play an important role in building our organization in your state."

The announcement continues, "President Obama describes his time as a community organizer by saying: 'It was the best education I ever had, because I learned in those neighborhoods that when ordinary people come together, they can achieve extraordinary things.'

"This is your chance to get that same education.

"If you're passionate about making sure every American has quality health care, reviving our economy, and building a cleanenergy future, don't miss this great opportunity. No previous experience is needed in order to apply."

Get the prescription for reclaiming America's heritage of liberty, justice and morality – Joseph Farah's "Taking America Back," autographed only at the WND SuperStore.

The group's website declares: "Organizing for America, the successor organization to Obama for America, is empowering students across the country to build on the movement that elected President Obama and help bring about his vision for change."

Volunteers must commit to working at least 12 hours a week from Sept. 1 to Dec. 11 and, according to the OFA website, may receive college credit from their schools for doing so.

The Omaha World-Herald reported that OFA workers have been knocking on doors and making phone calls in Iowa and Nebraska to garner support for Obama's health care initiative.

"It is the first time in recent memory that a presidential candidate has maintained an active, grassroots presence in either state after an election," the newspaper reported.

"Iowa has almost nonstop presidential activity," said Norm Sterzenbach, executive director of the Iowa Democratic Party. "But the idea of having a sitting president continuing an organization is fairly unusual."

According to the Washington Post, Obama used the same standing political army earlier this year to gather signatures in support of his economic plan. The president asked his supporters to go "block by block and door by door" in every state.

In March, when volunteers canvassed high-traffic locations in Birmingham, Ala., to support Obama's health care, education and energy policies, one event organizer told the Birmingham News, "We are looking for supporters. We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

In an Aug. 5 e-mail, Obama once again urged his supporters to help him gain support for his health care plan:

… Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support.

Democratic National Committee spokesman Michael Czin said in July that OFA has hired staff in 38 states and intends to expand to all 50 states. OFA announced that it has organized 1,906 local events in all 50 states – from press conferences to community discussions – since it launched its health care campaign in June.

As WND reported, Obama has been accused of "planting" OFA volunteers and supporters at many of his recent town hall forums so they may ask pre-selected questions. The White House insists that attendees are selected at random, but a closer look reveals many questioners range from Obama campaign donors and Organizing for America volunteers to single-payer health care lobbyists and Service Employees International Union members.

According to New Hampshire's DMUR 9 News, Obama health care supporters, including OFA members, are being driven to town hall meetings by the busload:

One citizen filmed a crowd of activists at a recent town hall meeting. Each attendee held a printed placard promoting health "reform" and addressing numerous "myths" and "facts" about Obama's plan. Asked where she got the sign, a woman said, "Organizing for America. We're a grass-roots organization and proud of it."

Other town hall attendees have reported seeing volunteers handing out pre-printed fliers and posters from OFA.

WND also reported that help wanted ads are appearing on Craigslist that offer to pay citizens between $9 and $16 an hour to lobby for the passage of Obama's health care. One Sacramento Craig's List ad declares, "Help pass Obama's health care reform! Earn $325-$550 per week!"

But remember… Town Hall and Teas Party attendees worried about their freedoms, their healthcare and their finances are the organized mobs…
