As implied in this speech, we do have a rendezvous with destiny. There is a price we will not pay and there is a point beyond which they, the progressives / democrats must not advance.

It is amazing to hear the parallels in America between 1964 and now. One would think that he were giving this speech today. He addresses the problems and the solutions. It also makes you realize how right Reagan was when he said: “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction!”, and how the progressive left has been busy at work in an effort to destroy this Country for years and years.

ACORN, you may remember, is the group that registers Mickey Mouse to vote, a zillion times over. They also seem a little too willing to help out pimps and prostitutes looking to traffic underage El Salvadorian girls. It's quite an amazing lie, but the media still yawns. Obama Acknowledges ACORN Relationship In New Video

WASHINGTON (at CPAC 2010) -- On the campaign trail in 2008 then-candidate Barack Obama did his best to distance himself from his past involvement with the radical advocacy group ACORN, a new video of his explaining the relationship has surfaced.

He doesn't say anything new. The significance is that there is now video footage of him saying the quotation that had previously only appeared in text form. The quotation, which surfaced in 2008, goes:

When I ran Project Vote, the voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it. Once I was elected there wasn't a campaign that ACORN worked on down in Springfield that I wasn't right there with you. Since I have been in the United States Senate I've been always a partner with ACORN as well. I've been fighting with ACORN, along side ACORN, on issues you care about my entire career.

Project Vote (a.k.a. Voting for America Inc.) is the voter registration/get out the vote arm of the ACORN empire of activism. Obama's campaign paid another ACORN affiliate more than $800,000 to do voter work during the 2008 Democratic primary campaign.

The ACORN Saga Continues - FEMA Grant to ACORN is Offensive – See Megan Kelly’s Special Report on ACORN

Earlier this month and despite the public scrutiny over the voter fraud and felony criminal activity associated with ACORN, the Department of Homeland Security went ahead and granted $997,402 to ACORN under the FY 2008 Fire Prevention and Safety Program.

To most people, the timing and the amount of the grant would seem off base, but when you take into account the fact that DHS awarded ACORN–an organization with no clear expertise in fire safety and prevention–a fire prevention and safety grant, it’s just plain offensive.

With fire departments all over Louisiana – and the rest of the country – struggling to make ends meet and get the equipment and training they need to protect their local communities, the idea of a million dollar grant going to ACORN is unsettling, to say the least.

I’ve had grave reservations about ACORN for some time, and over the past year we’ve seen numerous examples of serious allegations of wrongdoing on the part of this organization and its employees across the country. I simply can’t see the logic behind diverting much needed funding from worthy fire departments to this organization.

So last week, I wrote a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano requesting that she rescind this grant from ACORN. As of today, the Secretary has not responded to my request. This site will post a copy of the letter for you to read and see for yourself.

Rest assured, I’ll keep working to help prevent further ACORN schemes to procure federal money.

Perhaps that is why Nancy Pelosi was crying last week warning about violence in the streets… It certainly isn’t from fear of the tea partiers… 1.7 million tea partiers on the Mall and not one arrest and nary a piece of paper left for clean up after the all day rally~
