Why Does Crime Inc. Matter to You?

By Glenn Beck – FoxNews.com - FNC

When a transocean oil rig exploded on April 20 leaving 11 workers presumed dead and tens of thousands of barrels of oil shooting into the Gulf of Mexico a day, the media didn't seem to think it was a big deal.

Three days later, on April 23, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs didn't seem too phased by the incident either, saying, "I don't honestly think it opens up a whole new series of questions [about offshore drilling], because, you know, in all honesty I doubt this is the first accident that has happened and I doubt it will be the last."

But as the oil spill grew, inching closer to the Florida shore (possibly reaching all the way to Miami), and it became clear that this incident could possibly turn into the largest oil related disaster ever (even bigger than the Exxon Valdez tragedy), the White House started singing a different tune.

Suddenly, the administration turned its guns directly at BP, declaring that the administration would and make them pay:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROBERT GIBBS, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: Well will keep — as Secretary Salazar said — our boot on the throat of BP.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

And Democrats are all of a sudden backing off their earlier climate bill compromise with Republicans to expand offshore drilling. Political pundits are citing this change as the reason the coming climate bill (cap -and-trade) will fizzle.

Um, need I remind you about the 100 percent opposition to the health care bill? Somehow, they managed to force that one through. It may have been the — what did they say? Boots on our throat. Why would it be any different this time?

Enter Crime Inc. A lot of people are wondering, "OK, well how does that affect me exactly?"

In a myriad of ways.

First, corruption. I was talking to a friend of mine who does business all over the world. One of the countries he dealt in was Brazil, where the corruption is rampant. The president is a member of the country's socialist Workers' Party. Even if a "clean" cop gets offered a bribe, he won't arrest them because the judges are on the take too so nothing would come of it, or because they don't have money. The one they accuse of offering a bribe will bribe the judge, and the officer will go to jail.

I told him we are on that path; he agreed. I asked him, "How can you do business in an environment like that?" He said, "You can still get things done."

I don't want to be that, do you? Where the rich can only get things done? Because they can afford it. Is that social justice? It's crime. Crime and dishonesty at the top levels does not help you.

Second, math. This oil spill, by some estimates, is going to cause gas prices to hit $5 a gallon. Our president does not have a problem with that:

(BEING VIDEO CLIP)

THEN-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA, JAN. 2008: Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

They actually want to raise your energy prices, not to help "save" the environment, but to redistribute the wealth!

Look at the players in Crime Inc. All of them want to destroy capitalism; to "fundamentally change" America and do away with the free market and replace the free market with power and control. Cap-and-trade is a giant step towards that goal.

Do you think Al Gore (whose 2000 campaign message of the "working family" was shaped by Joel Rogers) really cares about the environment? He says he does:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

AL GORE, FORMER VICE PRESIDENT, APRIL 24, 2009: I believe that the transition to a green economy is good for our economy and good for all of us. And I have invested in it. But every penny that I have made, I have put right into a non-profit — the Alliance for Climate Protection — to spread awareness of why we have to take on this challenge. And Congresswoman, if your — if you believe that the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is because of greed, you don't know me.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Every penny he's made. Maybe his $9 million mansion in California was a gift. And this isn't a move, he's adding to the fleet of mansions he already owns.

How does someone who believes oceans will rise 20 feet buy oceanfront property? Answer: He knows they won't rise! It's about redistribution of wealth and power.

Joel Rogers, the wizard of Crime Inc., founder of the Apollo Alliance and father of the New Party (now the Working Families Party), admits that cap-and-trade would do nothing to help the environment and is all about redistributing the wealth.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOEL ROGERS, MARCH 2008: You will be well on your way to actually greening the economy. And you will grow the wealth and GE and CISCO and the other people who are announcing great plans should be relatively happy about that. And any environmentalist not concerned about the redistribution of that wealth should be relatively happy.

I hope you all realize that you could eliminate every power plant in America today and you can stop every car in America — take out the entire power generation sector, take out all of the transportation sector — and you still wouldn't be anywhere near 80 percent below 1990 levels. You'd be closer to around 60 percent. It would be around 68 percent. And that's bringing the economy to a complete halt, basically.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

These people are enemies of the free market! Rogers gleefully admits to it!

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROGERS: The business — profit-seeking business essentially owns our political system. It owns the political parties. It funds their conventions. It provides the lion's share of $1 billion in private cash that will decide this year's — who even gets to play the electoral game, much less decide who wins it. It owns the major media and a lot of the minor ones, too.

We must become you — in the sense of organized, independent in the economy and on the street — if unchecked business power is going to be checked.

So, let's check it, with some muscle. But also always beneath the muscle, hear the beating of the heart.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

The free market is under full scale assault. So is it muscle? Or was it boots on their throats?

And for those of you who think Wall Street is greedy and government needs to take away their greed, let me tell you this: When the free market loses its power to make decisions, some still have to make decisions. That will be the government.

Again, the premise is: Why does Crime Inc. matter to you?

If cap-and-trade goes through:

• Al Gore gets wildly rich

• Joel Rogers, Goldman, and all the rest of these big companies and rich and powerful progressives who concocted this cap-and-trade scam like Cisco and GE get wildly rich. Ever wonder why there's green week every other week on NBC?

• President Obama and anyone who falls in line with him gets more control and power over business

Where are you? You were kind of mentioned in the beginning; your energy prices "necessarily" skyrocket. Your monthly gas bill makes the work commute difficult. The price of groceries soar because it costs the truckers so much to transport everything. We're talking $5 to $10 gasoline.

Think of $10 gas for a second. Your car has, say, 15 gallons? One hundred and fifty bucks to fill up a tank? One tank a week and you are paying $600 a month on gas?
Well, gee, where do I sign up? Sounds H-O-T.

President Obama has heralded FDR and the New Deal and run every pattern that he did. But there is a critical difference between FDR and Obama: there were no big government programs before FDR. Debt problems weren't on the radar when he started his massive expansion of government. FDR spent and spent and spent, but he did one thing that Obama hasn't done: he actually put the engine into the car.

FDR wanted public control of energy. In 1932 he said, "Electricity is no longer a luxury; it is a definite necessity."

He publicly attacked utility companies, calling them "evil" in his 1935 State of the Union speech. That same year his Federal Power Act gave government authority to review and approve the rates charged by public utilities in connection with the transmission or sale of electricity.

He also created the Tennessee Valley Authority — a massive debacle that was originally created to stop frequent flooding in Tennessee. But as Ronald Reagan once pointed out, the annual interest on TVA debt was five times as great as the annual flood damage it sought to correct, and when other nations tried to model the TVA, it failed miserably.

FDR completely squashed industry. The number of private utilities plummeted from 216 in 1938 to only 18 by 1958.

So far you don't see a difference between Barack Obama and FDR, do you?

FDR was about redistribution of wealth as well. The only reason it all stopped was because he died. When he did, they reversed a lot of this. In the end, however, FDR's was going for cheap and available energy. FDR tried to create more energy that would allow you to take advantage of that energy. Refrigerators, radios, milk coolers, washing machines all were items that became commonplace after his works projects.

Despite FDR's onslaught of big government projects, the unbelievable socialist nature and the average small business man he put through a meat grinder, once they got rid of all that government crap you still had cheap energy. Once the nightmare of obese government went away, American ingenuity was relatively free to operate and create.

The current administration's goal is to raise your energy prices! And they are looking to chain down anything "free" that's left in the "free" market.

How does this affect you?

• Minimum $5 gas without any new legislation

• Corruption. You don't know anyone? No connections? Don't play by their rules? You get nothing

• Cheap energy. How do we produce it? Don't even say to me windmills and solar panels. Solar panels are so expensive and it takes decades to make the money back in savings and they often need to be replaced long before you break even. The technology is not there yet

• Cap-and-trade. Obama has repeatedly said he will model America after Spain and their "green economy." Spain has 20 percent unemployment! Can't wait for that!

• Wind power. An unbroken line of 50-story high wind turbines along the 2,178 mile Appalachian Trail would produce no more electricity than four nuclear reactors on four square miles of land. And, to produce just 20 percent of U.S. electricity you'd need 186,000 turbines, which would cover the entire state of West Virginia. Well, at least we wouldn't have to worry about dirty coal anymore. But oh boy, we'd hear about the bird genocide that would take place daily in America. If for no other reason to oppose wind power it would be to pre-empt the annoying PETA ads about the bird holocaust

This affects you. What can you do about it? Get the facts. Root out the bad guys and the corruption. Don't allow government to take any more of the private sector, any more of your rights or responsibility. Don't let them regulate anymore or pass more laws. Possession is nine-tenths of the law. How much more are you going to allow them to possess?

Don't let them grab anything else, because you won't get it back.
