Summer Part X  - Parts 1 – 9 Referenced Herein

The greatest gift you can give your children and grandchildren is the love for reading… for books… for the search of truth. And the best way to do that is to read to them and to be an example.  Turn that TV and computer off and read to them, with them and in front of them and then discuss some reading materials with them.

I have heard and read many times of successful families like the Kennedys (whether you like their politics or not) who inspired their children with competition and carried on lively conversations at the dinner table that included politics, characters from books and real life situations both in the news and from their own lives.

We are in the middle of a great storm… perhaps the perfect storm.  Many changes are coming if we do no fight them.  Something we must all remember:  Change is part of life, but all change is not good and some things, even if they are legal, accepted or appear out of our control are not advisable.  All things cannot be allowed or tolerated to happen, for the greater good.  Just because it is the trend, is allowable, is legal or even sometimes things that seem unavoidable, inevitable or ordained by the law or social customs… does not mean it should happen. 

Stand up before we lose the very way of life that people want to come here for, envy us for or that we ourselves love and want for future generations.

Did you know that the Oxford Dictionary will no longer printed; only in digital form.  (Concise Oxford English Dictionary: 11th Edition Revised 2008) Fight to get it back and fight for the printed word.  Digital media can be altered, destroyed or lost with the stroke of a key… or by someone shutting off the feed. (Ask someone who is from or lives in a third world country.)  The digital format should be the back-ups and perhaps a quick way to take a book along while traveling. (But even that, how often have you experienced connectivity problems with your computer or are required to turn off all electronics?)

As Carrie from Sex in the City told Big, when he commented on her habit of checking out library books from the New York City Library… there is nothing like the smell of a library book with the hauntings of all those who have read it before you! 

Buy books!  Buy hardback books.  Save and store books.  Build a library.  Support and volunteer at the public library.  Fight the closing of libraries.  Encourage the opening and private or patriotic libraries.  Take the old books the public libraries discard and find a taker for them.  It is our history~  And keep journals and diaries yourself.

Many of those who promote moving everything to a digital format are the same people who are actively re-writing history. Those of us who read know that there is nothing like sitting down with a good book. Those of us who are thinkers realize that things that can be altered or lost online, without hard copy backups, are not enough to leave future generations.  And those who are serious students of history know that original sources in original form are priceless!!!

Censorship and the Banning of Books

*** One of the tell tale signs of a nation or a people’s loss of freedom is the banning of books.  The United States has been banning books through communities, school districts, churches and even the government directly for years now… and in general we are not talking porn or even books that advocate treason (in fact those are pretty much all available)  We are talking about the classics, American Heritage and History related books and literature that make you think!

Great works of literature have been banned:

"Ulysses," "Candide," "Fanny Hill," "Moll Flanders," "Canterbury Tales," "The Arabian Nights," "Leaves of Grass," "Civil Disobedience," "Frankenstein," "Call of the Wild," "The Awakening", religious works like The Bible and The Quran, and so many others.

120 Banned Books: Censorship Histories of World Literature

There are book stores (major chains) who hide conservative authors books in back corners or even in the back room.  Dick, Jane and Sally, that Americans 45+ grew up with, have been replaced by Heather Has Two Mommies: 10th Anniversary Edition (Alyson Wonderland for kids at an age who shouldn’t even have to to notice or question things related to sex and sexuality.  The Pledge and a prayer in school have been done away with unless someone in a community fights for it and instead of A Patriot's History of the United State..., our kids are being indoctrinated with Socialism and Cultural Marxism. and professors now have the ability to edit and online textbooks that they teach from (permanently).

Think about what could happen, if the books above have been banned during times we considered “Free”  and while books were still being physically published.  Then let yourself go and think about “what could happen if…?!?”

If you yourself did not get around to reading:  The Five Thousand Year Leap, A Patriot's History of the United St...,  George Washington's Sacred Fire, Rules for Radicals (our president and his Czar’s Bible)… you might consider starting there.  And for the fiction only readers, start with factional novel The Overton Window and wade through the 20-pages of “true” sources in the back and then hit the The Constitution of the United States of America, with the Bill of Rights and all of the Amendments; The Declaration of Independence; and the Articles of Confederation, only $7.99.

Cultural Marxism in the Classroom: Parental Complaints Result in Restrictions of Parental Access

After parents of Big Lake School District students began protesting the high school’s diversity lessons, district officials proposed a policy to control parental access to the schools.Parents in the District have spoken out against the Diversity Perspectives class textbook that promotes what one parent described as “an extremely liberal agenda.” And, parents state, the text includes concepts promoting socialism and homosexuality.

After bringing their concerns forward, word spread that the Big Lake School Board is considering a policy that impairs parents’ ability to monitor what and how their children are being taught during school.

The policy gives school principals and/or officials autonomous control over whether or not parents can come into their child’s school or observe a class.

This unbelievably overreaching bureaucratic decision exemplifies the mindset of the governing class: we are smarter than you, we are in charge, and anyone who challenges us must be put down.

Further research turned up a little more information, but I can not find this reported in the local news.

Before a meeting in the high school, parent Teri Dickinson video taped student work hanging on the walls of the Diversity Perspectives classroom. The papers depicted Christopher Columbus, a man of deep faith and convictions, as a rapist and murderer. The projects also called him a pillager and terrorist. 'I just couldn’t believe what I saw,' Dickinson said. 'I wanted to be able to share it with other parents.'...

Bob Barrett, parent of Big Lake first and third graders, is so concerned about the class that he read the Diversity Perspectives textbook, Oppression and Social Justice: Critical Frameworks. He says the book propagates a political viewpoint of oppression foisted upon others by white males, beginning with Columbus. ...an entire chapter, say parents, is devoted to anti-capitalism. And, the parents note, the book endorses gay and bisexual agendas....

Mary Stultz contacted her 9th grade son’s Life Skills teacher when she learned a public health nurse would be giving a condom-showing presentation on contraception. At first, the teacher welcomed her to attend the class. 'The speaker (also) welcomed me in.'... But the morning of the presentation, Big Lake High School Principal Darrel Easterly banned her from the school, via the teacher, citing data privacy laws. Stultz was stunned.

Meet the Author of several chapters of the curriculum: Julie Andrzejewski.

Scholarly and Professional Activities: Andrzejewski's scholarly work includes five editions of an anthology entitled, Oppression and Social Justice: Critical Frameworks. She also co-authored a book,Why Can't Sharon Kowalski Come Home, which was positively reviewed in the New York Times Book Review and Publisher's Weekly among others. She recently co-authored a monograph with Dr. John Alessio, Education for Global Citizenship and Social Responsibility, for the John Dewey Project on Progressive Education (www.uvm.edu/~dewey) and a article for the American Sociological Review titled, Unveiling the Hidden Glass Ceiling: An Analysis of the Cohort Effect Claim.

She is a member of the American Education Research Association and many of the social and environmental Special Interest Groups (SIG's) within it (i.e. Critical Educators for Social Justice, Critical Examination of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Class, Environmental and Ecological Education, Research on Women in Education, Democratic Citizenship in Education, Peace Education, Lesbian and Gay Studies, Research Focus on Black Americans, Indigenous Peoples of the Americas). At the 2002 AERA conference, she chaired an interactive symposium with panelists from many of these SIG's titled: Social and Environmental Justice Education: Should it be evaluated by guidelines or standards?

And again I say, "Remove your children from public schools immediately!" ...IMHO.

Why would concerned parents hand their impressionable offspring over to an influential group whose ideology is contrary to their own, for daily propaganda lessons?

 Spell check OK for students taking tests

SALEM, Ore., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Oregon students will be permitted to use their computers' spell check feature when taking the state writing test, state education department officials said. The test judges the seventh-grade and high school students' essays, written in response to a prompt, on six criteria, including organization and sentence fluency -- but the single more important part of their score is English conventions, which count for twice as much as any other criterion, The Oregonian newspaper in Portland reported Thursday. A computer's spell checking feature can correct errors in spelling and capitalization. "The increasing use of computers with spell checkers for communication in the work place, college, postsecondary training and the military," were cited as reasons for the policy change in Salem.

Digital Versions Allow Instructors to Rewrite the (Text)book  -  Is This a Big Deal? Absolutely!!

The worst thing that we can let happen is allow book stores to vanish, online stores to go all digital, old books to be destroyed, libraries to be closed and all our reading materials and history to be put online and in digital form, often editable by leftist professors.

The written word is forever, a printed book or handwritten journal or letters cannot be destroyed or altered with the stroke of a key on a computer keyboard by people with sinister agendas.

Our history has been re-written and then the newest version has been  taught to our children to change their beliefs, their morality, our history and both control and narrow their thinking.  Luckily there are still sources to be found of the truth in printed form… Each one of us must join the cause to save original sources.

Help save and restore the truth: Start some private libraries with discarded and donated books (great projects for 9/12 and tea party groups as well as individual patriots, volunteer at the local public library so they don’t have to close due to budget constraints; collect books at home; insist that your bookstore and their chain carry books from all perspectives (many chains owned by liberal progressives hide Beck or Palin books and a lot of others in the back or even off the floor… or don’t carry them at all); donate old and original sourced books to Beck and other Conservative Private collectors who will preserve the knowledge; try to buy hardcover books whenever possible and create a permanent family library;  scan in original source materials and whole books if you can and then burn them to discs, print out copies and store them offline as well as on your computer; purchase and give books as gifts so that there is a financial incentive to keep printing them;  start ‘reading time’ with your kids and grandkids; make yourself read at lead 30-minutes a day, even if you don’t think you like to read; insist that your children’s high school (all public schools) and colleges do not allow their teachers and professors to subscribe to programs where they can edit the outrageously expensive textbooks online to reflect their own agenda and perspective, which is happening daily all over our Country!

The Education Department has posted its proposed "gainful employment" rule. The draft rule, released on [July 22, 2010], would cut off aid to programs at for-profit colleges whose students have the highest debt burdens and lowest loan-repayment rates.

Secretary Duncan,

I urge you to reconsider the U.S. Department of Education’s proposed “Gainful Employment” rule, which would severely limit a student’s ability to attend the college or university of his or her choice. The rule is unfair to students – particularly among low-income, minority, female, working adult, and other populations – by making entire programs ineligible for Title IV federal financial aid if they fail to meet one-size-fits-all metric tests that have little to do with academic quality.

Specifically, the Gainful Employment rule would:

* Limit choice for any University students who require financial aid to earn their college degrees.
* Restrict the ability of students to receive a career-oriented education that is marketable to prospective employers.
* Impact some students’ quality of life. Students should be afforded the opportunity to pursue any career that offers them the chance to fulfill their professional aspirations.

Earning a degree has been a dream of mine that will come true upon my graduation from any University. Through my current program, I am gaining the necessary skills and education for a successful career. Graduates in my program can attest to the fact that a degree from our school gave them the competitive edge to get their dream job in this tough job market.

Please protect future students’ access to the same type of quality education I enjoy by working with all stakeholders to achieve our shared goals on student debt while avoiding negative unintended consequences.

BP Saga Continues… But Media Ignores

NOW THE END BEGINS: Oil sheen is now spreading from another blown rig site after mariner energy official claimed there was no oil spill.  A mile-long Oil Spill From Second Gulf Oil Rig E, or maybe not.  Is this actual oil spill that they have never reported and has been leaking all along?  (Do a little homework on Matt Simmons)

As for the health of those in the Gulf Coast…

No Safe Harbor on Gulf Coast; Human Blood Tests Show Dangerous Levels of Toxic Exposure

Even as BP and US government officials continue to declare the oil spill over at Mississippi Canyon 252 and the cleanup operation an unqualified success, for the first time blood tests on sickened humans have shown signs of exposure to high levels of toxic chemicals related to crude oil and dispersants. Some of the individuals tested have not been on the beaches, were not involved in any cleanup operations or in the Gulf water -- they simply live along the Gulf Coast. Several of them are now leaving the area due to a combination of illness and economic hardship. As the media's attention has moved on and the public interest wanes, the suffering and hardship for people along the entire Gulf Coast of the United States from Louisiana to Florida continues to worsen. While BP and the government are scaling back cleanup operations and distancing themselves from legal liability for the environmental destruction, economic hardship, sickness and death resulting from the largest environmental disaster in our nation's history, the situation continues to deteriorate.

The use of the Corexit dispersant 9500 and the highly toxic 9527 by BP, with the approval and assistance of the US Coast Guard and EPA, has been the subject of intense scrutiny and criticism. Never before has such a huge quantity of the toxic compound been used anywhere on the planet. Most countries including NATO allies ban it's use and will only grant approval as a last resort after other methods have failed. Britain has banned its use altogether. The NOAA provided extensive information summarizing other nation's policies in regards to Corexit after Senator Barbara Mikulski demanded the information from EPA administrator Lisa Jackson during congressional hearings in July. While the dispersant serves to break down crude oil on the surface and thus makes the oil invisible from the air, it is highly toxic and bioaccumulates in the marine food chain. In humans it is a known carcinogen and its use was widely condemned after Exxon/Valdez and the horrifying health effects on the populations exposed to it there. As it evaporates and becomes airborne, the toxic compounds have moved on shore, creating health impacts that, although apparently large from the numbers of people affected, the full extent is unknown. BP and the US government have effectively been performing the largest chemical experiment in history on a civilian population without their knowledge or consent.

Dispersant and crude in Gulf

Within two days after arriving in the region in mid-July, everyone on our team began getting sick. After our first day out on the water with Captain Lori of Dolphin Queen Cruises touring the lagoons around Orange Beach, Alabama, we all had extreme headaches. During our boat tour, dispersant was visible covering the water everywhere. That evening I developed a gagging, coughing reflex that was so intense and persistent it was impossible to speak to my daughter on the phone. The symptoms typical for high levels of chemical exposure such as burning, itching eyes, constantly runny nose, chronic coughing, burning sore throat, chest congestion, and lethargy progressively intensified. Over the next several weeks these symptoms continued to worsen until I developed chemically-induced pneumonitis. Before leaving the area I had blood tests initiated to determine if the levels of exposure were high enough to be be detected. The musical activists Sassafrass and the tireless efforts of Michelle Nix allowed myself and several local residents to have blood drawn and tested by Metametrix for chemical exposure. Project Gulf Impact and the Coastal Heritage Societyhave also contributed greatly to air and water testing in the Gulf region affected by the spill. Project Gulf Impact has set up a dedicated medical help phone line at 504-814-0283. It has proven extremely difficult to find medical care providers who are willing to see patients who have been impacted by the oil spill due to the tremendous pressure exerted against hospitals, clinics, and physicians by BP. In numerous cases BP has provided financial payments to institutions and individuals in exchange for them agreeing not to allow their physicians or staff to see, advise, or treat anyone sickened as a result of the well blowout.

I spoke at length with Michael R. Harbut, MD, MPH, who is clinical professor of Internal Medicine and director of the Environmental Cancer Program at Wayne State University's Karmanos Cancer Institute. Board Certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Harbut was Chair of the Occupational and Environmental Health Section of the American College of Chest Physicians, was Medical Coordinator of the Kibumbe Refugee Camp during the 1994 Civil War in Rwanda, where the death rate for patients under his care was 1/3 that of the remainder of the camp and was Chief US Medical Advisor to Poland's Solidarity during the Cold War. His research has been published or presented in venues ranging from the New England Journal of Medicine to the White House.

JC: I wanted to speak with you and see what you thought of the test results we got back. As you know, some of the locals actually came back even higher than mine.

MH: First you have to remember the setting -- this is New Orleans and the Gulf Coast; there is a history and a context in which things need to be placed. In my specialty, which is occupational and environmental medicine, there are not many of us who are board certified who actually take care of patients. The bulk of the physicians in our specialty are medical advisors or medical directors to large corporations, and many have never met a chemical they didn't like. Sort of like Will Rogers. Part of the context is there is a physician whose name is Victor Alexander who was a specialist in my field. He worked in New Orleans at the Oxnar clinic and was seeing a lot of patients who worked for the petroleum companies and was reportedly fired for all of the work he did for his patients as opposed to the petroleum companies -- what a doctor is supposed to do. So Victor Alexander then goes into private practice and the New Orleans police came and arrested him for robbing a bank.

JC: Seriously?

MH: Yea, it gets way crazier. This is a guy who was doing very well personally, economically -- it came out in trial that he had a half a million dollars in the bank and was making plenty of money. It is unlikely in terms of motive that he would rob a bank for 2,500 dollars. The video from the bank was analyzed by the retired chief of criminal identification for the FBI; he said there was no way it could have been Dr. Alexander robbing this bank. He went to trial twice, the judge threw out a lot of evidence that would have exonerated him and he was sent to prison for robbing a bank. The Louisiana State Medical Society refused to take away his license. Many physicians who do work or potentially could do work or have knowledge of the area in New Orleans know the story about Victor Alexander. The message is quite clear: Don't mess around with the petroleum industry.

JC: I have been working mainly in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area of Alabama, and that's where I got sick.

MH: Have you have a CAT scan?

JC: Not yet, although they want to do one at the National Jewish Respiratory Center in Denver.

MH: You have to do that. I was chairman of the Occupational and Environmental medicine section of the American College of Chest Physicians so I have a lot of experience in this. You really need to be seen by a physician who understands this is serious.

JC: It's on the schedule when I get back to Colorado. What do you see when you look at the test results from myself and the other people down here? What do they tell you?

MH: Let me tell you one more thing before I forget. I think that the only way to come close to getting the ultimate answer down there is to -- there has to be a federal task force if you will. A federal effort where there would be half a dozen or a dozen specialists in this field who would have the protection of the government either temporary commissions from the U. S. public health service or something like that. Who would be responsible for organizing all the science and all the medicine and trying to get people to deliver care down there. I just don't think you are going to get many volunteers unless they know they have the protection of the government. The annals of environmental diseases are strewn with stories about physicians who have had their lives ruined. There's a fellow named Jerry at the State University of New York. Jerry is a pathologist and he was seeing and making diagnoses on oil rig workers finding out if their lung diseases were related to their previous exposures. One of the big oil companies went to UCLA where Jerry was employed and said if they did not fire Jerry they would be cutting off their money so the University fired him. He took the case all the way to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that it was OK, you could fire a doctor for doing the right thing.

JC: The impacts of what is happening down here is are so big it's very hard to wrap your head around it.

MH: I will give you one other example while we are talking about it. In the early 1990s I had called a bunch of cases, I saw patients who were sick from their environment who worked for Dow and DOW Chemical and a couple of the steel mills. In an eighteen month period I had one Blue Cross Blue Shield audit, two Medicare audits, a Michigan Employment Security Commission audit, a USAID Inspector General's audit, and I was the target of a federal grand jury investigation. After two years and tens of thousands of dollars Medicare thanked me for teaching them how to catch a crook, apologized for bothering me -- I told them how they could catch crooks and they thanked me. The US government, the local FBI office actually called my attorney and said they really weren't able to find anything and my attorney who is a former US Attorney said that the government never calls when they have investigated somebody they just leave them dangling for the rest of their lives. The degree of harassment towards physicians is enormous, which I think is part of the reason -- because of the conflicting forces at work in the Gulf, because of the probably less than half truths that are floating around that there needs to be a federal task force of independent physicians and scientists who have the protection and full faith of the United States. The way the system works, I think it would mean temporary commissions in the public health service. I don't think even the oil companies that work down there would try and bump off a guy who works with the public health service.

JC: A number of people I have spoken to in Washington share that same opinion. Does it help to have test results in hand that show high levels of exposure from this event?

MH: I remember you had no Benzene but a lot of Hexane and a couple of Hexane metabolites. I am not sure what that means because where you see Hexane, Hexane causes what is called a dying back neuropathy, meaning the nerve cells in the arms and legs die back from the distal tips to the proximal end. You can end up with numbness, pain, all sorts of things. Hexane is a direct petroleum product so where you see Hexane you would expect to see Benzene. Now, that having been said I personally don't even do actual solvent levels anymore because they are fraught with error. Rubbing alcohol is the prototypical solvent, and if you put a cap of rubbing alcohol on a flat surface like marble or something it's usually gone before you would have a chance to get a paper towel it evaporates so quickly. So what happens with the organic solvents in general is that unless there is absolutely perfect control when they are drawn, there is a fair amount that will evaporate, if in fact not all of it. One of the dangers of people going to this lab (Metametrix), which I think is a good lab, is if they get the test drawn at a facility that lets it sit out for a little bit you are going to get a false negative result. In a case like yours, if you believe the sample is valid and it shows that you have Hexane and Hexane metabolites and also Octane in your blood, then it's a pretty good clinical indication of how to go about treating you, which is usually just drinking a lot of water and then treating the end organ damage. End organ damage meaning we know if you inhale this stuff, if you have it in your system, it will damage your nerves. so we take a look at the nerves. The nerves will not show up abnormal on a test until there has been 30% damage. So what I do here and what I teach my residents is that for most people who come in to see the doctor in this field with a problem you will get more yield in terms of finding pathology and being able to help them if you look for end organ damage rather than the presence of a solvent because the solvent could have evaporated after it has already whacked the brain or whacked the liver.

JC: I spoke to the founder of Metametrix and he said that the tests were designed to pick up these compounds in the body after part of it, particularly Benzene, has been flushed. He indicated that the Benzene would not show up for very long once you were exposed but that the other compounds, the Ethylbenzene, m. p.-Xylene, the Hexane, which was way high, the Methylpentanes and the Isooctane, all of those things indicated to him that we were exposed to significant amounts of Benzene.

MH: That's what I would think, too.

JC: When you look at these results is there reason to believe we might have sustained serious damage to our organs?

MH: In order to be scientific about this you have to have baseline data on a large population. What the oil company doctors, the professional experts that will ultimately be hired in these cases will argue is that you don't know what background is in the area. I have seen them do this. They will go out and check 90 people and they will find people with results less than yours or more than yours and they will say this is background so with this particular patient you can not rely on the validity of the testing. On a scientific basis that's true, I would prefer background. What happened to you right now is you have an indication that you breathed in harmful agents -- you have a marker. They are called bio-markers. A bio-marker is the Hexane, N-Hexane and the Octane. You have evidence that you inhaled it because it's in your blood. Nobody has correlated how much N-Hexane in your blood by PPM or PPB correlates with actual nerve damage. You need to have pulmonary tests, high resolution cat scans of your chest, liver function and cardiac function tests. What should happen with people with these exposures is at an absolute minimum, and I do not believe this is adequate, but at an absolute minimum the NIOSH recommended health monitoring tests should be done. Be certain to ask the doctor examining you if they have ever been paid or retained by a petroleum company or a chemical manufacturing company.

JC: I can do that.

Officials from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR) voluntarily “took oyster fishermen out on the reefs off the Pass Christian Harbor on Wednesday to give them a preview of what to expect from the upcoming oyster season,” according to Biloxi’s Sun Herald.

What did they find? “An abundance of empty oyster shells… DMR officials dredged for oysters and pulled up catches with about 80 to 90 percent of the oysters dead,” the paper reported.

A sampling of excuses from Scott Gordon, director of the shellfish bureau in Bill Walker’s Mississippi Department of Marine Resources:

• “There have been more oyster mortalities this year, but he doesn’t know whether it can be attributed to the BP oil spill.”
• “We don’t have any evidence that oil has contributed to these mortalities”
• “I’m not as encouraged about this season as I’d like to be.”
• “The weather this summer may be a cause of the oyster deaths, he said.”
• “We’ve had an unseasonably hot summer.”

According to the report, “Some fishermen suspect the oil is a cause for the amount of empty oyster shells dredged up on the DMR trip” :

• Oyster dredger Loe Nguyen: “We’ve lost this season… It’s bad news for the oyster fishermen.”
• “Oyster dredger Minh Tran said it was the first time he’s seen a season like this. He’s been in the oyster business for 10 years.”

You see it will require all farms to purchase and use high-tech equipment that family farms and organic farms cannot afford and do not need. It will put these farms out of business. This is shameful because the bad food occasionally produced in this country does not come from these little farms- it comes from Big Agribiz and they already HAVE the hi-tech equipment required by this law. It seems the equipment hasn't improved the food they produce, and they don't like competition from responsible farmers - they prefer a Bill that hands them a monopoly over food production by destroying that competition. Further, this Bill is written in such an open-ended way, that if the Feds choose to, they can use it to stop you from having a home garden.

Also-- the Feds are handing food distribution in this country over to Homeland Security. That means that food may be scarce in one part of the country, and plentiful in another, according to "politics". Of course, if family and organic farms are wiped out, the food they move around will be largely processed and not very good, anyway. But it will be all that is available.

Beck, Palin, and 9/11 As Secular Conservative Holiday?!?

With not a lot of fanfare, Glenn Beck booked Anchorage's Dena'ina for a September 11 event with no announced program. When I first heard about the event, it was from Palin-watching liberals who assumed -- correctly, it turns out -- that the former governor would attend the rally. One theory I heard was that Palin would use the event to launch a presidential bid, which I don't buy at all. Nothing suggests that she would suck the oxygen out of the GOP's midterm campaign by doing that.

Instead, I think you're going to see a sequel to Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally. Like I noted in my article on that rally, it wasn't overtly political for the same reasons that his paid speeches aren't overtly political. The people who show up for these events are already converts. The point of these events is to bolster their political anxiety by telling them they are needed to reclaim America in the name of God.

And that's how we get to the 9/11 timing. Between this event and the (fairly overblown) anti-"ground zero mosque" rally in New York, we're witnessing the end of the political truce over having rallies on 9/11. Even during the truce, however, it was assumed that 9/11 was a secular holiday for national security conservatives. Go back and read the commentary from 2004, 2006, and 2008 -- numerous people, including Newt Gingrich, suggested that the 9/11 anniversary would remind Americans that their coming electoral choice was between feckless liberals who had "forgotten" the lessons of 9/11 and strong conservatives who hadn't. Beck has been beating that drum since March 13, 2009, his famous "You Are Not Alone" episode, when he urged Americans to remember how they felt the day after 9/11. At "Restoring Honor," he didn't talk about politics. On 9/11, he won't talk about politics. But his message will be transparently political -- it's America's own fault that it handed the presidency to a liberal community organizer, because it forgot the lessons of 9/11.

Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin plan mysterious joint appearance on 9/11

What are Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin up to? The Fox News host is headed to Alaska next week, where he's set to headline an event at Anchorage's Dena'ina Center on Sept. 11. The event went largely unnoticed until this week, when Vanity Fair offhandedly mentioned the event in a scathing profile of Palin published online Wednesday.

On his radio show Wednesday, Beck confirmed he would be going on "vacation" in Alaska and that he and Palin would appear together. But proving he is nothing if not a master at generating his own publicity, Beck played coy on other details about their joint event, which happens to fall on the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. "I'm gonna give a speech up there, and Sarah's gonna give a speech, too, but that's it," Beck said.

Asked by his producer if he and Palin were "planning anything," Beck repeatedly dodged the question by pretending he couldn't hear the question. Ditto when asked if the event was "political." Here's the video, courtesy of RightScoop:

While Beck may be dodgy on what exactly he and Palin are planning, one thing is clear: The tickets are pretty pricey. According to Ticketmaster, admission ranges from $73.75 to $225 for a "meet and greet" (though it's unclear if that's just with Beck). Audience members have a choice of sitting in the "dry section" or "wet section" -- presumably a reference to booze, not the Fox host's penchant for weeping. The event comes two weeks after Beck and Palin appeared together at Beck's rally on the Mall in Washington.

Love him or hate him, Glenn Beck is a force to be reckoned with, and a major game changer in American Politics (and so is Sarah Palin who can send the left scrambling with a single facebook post).  Not since Alexander Solzhenitsyn (Harvard Commencement Speech), has any significant secular person had the guts to stand in front of America and preach what Beck preached:  “American must return to God.”

The left is now boycotting Albert Pulhols, an honorable man, athlete and patriot, and the team he plays for, the Cardinals, for accepting an award from Glenn Beck for being a man of honor, including doing right by this wife, his team and his country. (Now that is a hateful event? and reason to boycott someone!?)

Beck’s crowd was old white and angry racists is what the left and their minions in the mainstream media are pushing…

Anyone who was there are or has taken the time to watch the live stream or replays knows that the left is pushing lies and hate as they are scrambling with fear that they Progressive Plan is falling apart.

If you were not in D.C. for the event or have not watched the event, do yourself the favor of watching it and deciding for yourself~

Glenn Beck’s History Lesson: Amnesia and Conformity

A perusal of Glenn Beck’s commentaries on Fox Television reveals a man who perceives himself as a traditional history teacher.  He has his blackboard and trusty pointer, while he removes his glasses to underscore key points.  His lessons are essentially lectures in which professor Beck leads his viewers (class) to the proper conclusions.  There is no room for discussion or creative thinking in the Beck classroom.  A healthy respect for the role played by ambiguity and paradox in historical causation and human motivation is discouraged by Beck who insists that his pupils adhere to rote memorization and learning.  It is hardly the classroom of the twenty-first century, but Beck’s pedagogy was on display for the entire nation during the staging of his “Restore America” rally at the Lincoln Memorial on the forty-seventh anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  Read rest of article HERE.
