Voting… The Essence of 2010

Voting… helping to get out the vote… supervising the voting process and demanding truthful counts, re-counts, verification of those who voted and even a brand new election until we get it right… an honest election is each of our responsibilities!!

If we do have at least a 50% turnout in the mid-terms, we are in grave danger… because we are lost.

After the Constitutional Convention a women asked Benjamin Franklin…. What have you given us?  He replied,  “A republic Mamm, if you can keep it.”

Can it really be, in the position we are in right now, that we can only find about 40% of Americans who understand…? who care…?  who will vote…?

In Bagdad where their lives were often at stake just for voting they had a  98% turnout knowing that their  their fingers would be inked with permanent ink.  We have been hovering around 38%… We must do better!! 

And perhaps moving to a simple system of inked fingers, no early voting and absentee votes only for the handicapped, troops and people who will truly and variably be out of the country on Election Day would be a good start to help stop corruption here too.

Who can we trust??  How do we save our freedom??  How do we save our religion?  How do we perpetuate out history?  How do we save our Constitution?  How do we save our republic??

Who do we send to Washington?  Who do they need in Washington?  How do we know which candidate is the right one?

Will Mexico’s Bloody Violence be used to further Regulate Guns in the United States?

Could Obama back~door regulations via the DOJ and DHS by using the bloody violence of the drug cartels in Mexico to further legislate arms controls here in the United States?  The Obama administration publicly admits it hates to waste a crisis.

From January 2010 through the end of June 2010 at least 5775 cartel related murders took place in Mexico.  The states these took place in in the greatest number of murders are Mexico’s northern states directly on theAmerican border.

In Obama’s Stimulus bill, authored by the Apollo Alliance, a group founded by progressive radical Joel Rogers and chaired by Carl Pope of the Sierra Club,  dubbed ‘The AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009‘ (Recovery Act) and in fiscal year (FY) 2009 appropriations, ATF received $21.9 million in funding to support and expand Project Gunrunner.  However a source inside the ATF claims the project is underfunded, but in 2008 it was given $32.5 million for operations.

The Department of Justice of the United States recognized that the fight against organized crime is failing because of bureaucratic rivalries and the fact they do not share information about the purchase of illegal firearms.

A study published by the Woodrow Wilson Center and the Trans-Border Institute at the University of San Diego, said of the 75 000 firearms confiscated by Mexican authorities in the past three years, 60 000 were from the United States. The most common weapons include assault rifles semi-automatic AK-47 and AR-15. [pdf]

According to a report by the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General, the strategy against organized crime has failed because Operation Gunrunner does not communicate to agenciesfighting crime and the agency has not had a permanent director  for over a year and a half and they did not share intelligence on arms trafficking with other U.S. security agencies, particularly with theDepartment of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).   The JusticeDepartment said the Bureau of Alcohol, Snuff, Firearms and Explosives (ATF, for its acronym in English) and the ICE does not work efficiently and are rarely carried out joint research. In similar story I  found evidence that the Crisis is in fact being looked at as a reason to further inflict regulation and possible outright bans on the rights of Gun Owners and dealers in the United States.

The report may end up focusing attention on what critics, especially gun control groups, charge has been a major shortcoming of the Obama administration: the president’s failure to nominate a director for ATF, despite having been in office more than 18 months, apparently because ofconcerns that any candidate would rile the ever potent gun lobby.

But another source in the same story claims the NRA is having its way with the current legislation.

An ATF spokesman in Washington said the agency was not prepared to respond to the criticisms in the report, saying the document was only a “working draft.” One senior ATF official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that many of the problems identified in the report stem from a lack of funding from Congress and weak U.S. gun laws, including the absence of a specific statute making weapons trafficking a federal crime.

Rather than tightening U.S. gun laws, Congress is now considering a bill — the ATF “Reform and Modernization Act,” backed by the National Rifle Association — that would weaken ATF’s ability to regulate rogue firearms dealers who either look the other way or are complicit when straw buyers working for the cartels purchase weapons, the official said.

Oklahoma lawmakers aim to ban international and Sharia law from state courts

OKLAHOMA CITY – Despite few, if any, attempts to impose Sharia law in the State of Oklahoma, voters there will be asked to vote on a ballot measure that would prohibit state courts from using the Islamic law – or international law – when making rulings.

State Question 755, variously known as the Sharia Law Amendment, the Oklahoma International Law Amendment or the “Save Our State” amendment, is a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, meaning that the state legislature rather than citizens of the state, voted to put the measure before the voters.

Voters will also be asked to approve a measure requiring specific voter identification documents.

A leader of the Osage Nation said he has not heard any official tribal opinions about the ballot measures, but most people he has spoken to informally oppose both measures.

The Sharia/International Law Amendment would require that courts rely on federal or state laws when handing down decisions and would prohibit courts from using international law or Sharia law. Voters will be asked to vote yes or no on the following ballot text:

“This measure amends the State Constitution. It changes a section that deals with the courts of this state. It would amend Article 7, Section 1. It makes courts rely on federal and state law when deciding cases. It forbids courts from considering or using international law. It forbids courts from considering or using Sharia Law.

“International law is also known as the law of nations. It deals with the conduct of international organizations and independent nations, such as countries, states and tribes. It deals with their relationship with each other. It also deals with some of their relationships with persons.

“The law of nations is formed by the general assent of civilized nations. Sources of international law also include international agreements, as well as treaties.

“Sharia Law is Islamic law. It is based on two principal sources, the Koran and the teaching of Mohammed.”

It is not clear what the sponsors of the bill had in mind when seeking to prohibit state courts from using international law since the federal government is a signatory of numerous international agreements and treaties, which effectively become federal law. Would it mean, for example, that the state could not cite the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights or – once the federal government endorses it – the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in issuing a ruling? It is also not clear if a state law that aims to pre-empt federal law is even constitutional.
Chris White, executive director of governmental affairs of the Osage Nation, said the question of constitutionality concerns tribal citizens.

“It wouldn’t seem like it would be legal. I’m not an attorney, but that’s the reason why the people I’ve talked to about it are concerned. They’re concerned about the treaties.”

White said he hasn’t spoken to anyone officially “but the ballot measure got a bit of play on Facebook and among people who are my friends and they are all against it. The state legislator who authored that amendment is pretty far to the right, the extreme right wing, and so most everyone sees that this amendment could be detrimental to Native tribes.”

Republican Rep. Rex Duncan, who sponsored the amendment, said Sharia law is deeply ingrained in the United Kingdom, and that’s why Oklahoma needs protection.

“It is a cancer upon the survivability of the UK. SQ 755 will constitute a pre-emptive strike against Sharia law coming to Oklahoma. While Oklahoma is still able to defend itself against this sort of hideous invasion, we should do so.”

Duncan’s amendment is clearly an insult to the state’s 15,000 Muslims, said Saad Mohammed, the executive director of Islamic information and vice president of the Island Center of Oklahoma City.

“Sharia law is a collection of laws from the Quran and the Prophet Mohammed that show us how to behave and how to worship and to guide us toward righteousness, and there’s absolutely zero chance of Sharia law coming to Oklahoma.

“I had a debate with Rep. Duncan in Tulsa and I told him it’s fear and scare tactics and it’s really about his own prejudice and bigotry. Nothing has happened to even remotely make him think that (Sharia law will be used in Oklahoma). We have no desire to bring it here because Sharia law itself tells us to follow the law of the land so we must follow American laws.”

Democratic Rep. Cory Williams opposes the measure.
“If I was a Muslim Oklahoman, I would be offended by my religion being singled out. Some people buy into the whole butterfly theory that if a judge in Europe flaps his wings and adopted Sharia law then it will come to Oklahoma. I, on the other hand, do not.”

Oklahoma voters will also be asked to approve State Question 746, the Oklahoma Voter Identification Measure. This ballot measure is a legislatively-referred state statute, sponsored by Republican Sen. John Ford. The measure says voters would have to produce photo identification in order to vote. The proof of identity would be a document that includes the voter’s name, a picture of the voter, and is issued by the United States, the State of Oklahoma, or a federally recognized Indian tribe or nation.
White said he also opposes this measure.

“I’m not for those kinds of identification requirements. It’s just another way to limit participation of minorities and others. We want as much participation as possible at the polls and that’s just a way to keep it down. Oh, I can see where they may try to get around some of those things by saying you can use your tribal ID, but I just think a person should be able to use their driver’s license. That would make it pretty simple.”

Glenn Beck went on the offensive against the dishonest 'Green Faith' agenda, as the Tides Foundation promotes radical environmentalist activism over the Gospel of Jesus Christ in churches, using their "Let There Be Stuff" curriculum. The invasion of progressivism (the cancer) into America's churches has been happening for quite some time now, and Glenn exposes it in his typical style and with his typical thorough examination.

This 'Green Faith' garbage teaches that we owe a debt to "earth's great waters" if we dare to drink water. The Tides Foundation is teaching that INSTEAD OF OWING GRATITUDE TO GOD, WE OWE THE EARTH A DEBT. This crap is worship of the earth, rather than the God who created this world. Glenn compared it to the worship of Baal.

I absolutely agree with Glenn Beck. This 'Green Faith' garbage mixes some truth into the lies; the Tides Foundation is mingling the philosophies of wicked men with actual truth. Efforts to lead us astray like that, to persuade us to worship the Earth instead of God, is inherently evil.

Anything that attempts to indoctrinate us to worship something other than God is of the devil.

"Let There Be Stuff" is described by its promoters as "A six-session curriculum that helps Christian teenagers explore the relationship between their consumption, their faith, and the health of the planet." They also have a Jewish Version. Here's Glenn:

Texas: Former SEIU Member Registers 23,207 Fraudulent Voters

Former Service Employees International Union (SEIU) member Steve Caddle of Houston, Texas has been caught registering 23,207 fake voters in Harris County alone due to the hard detective work of Catherine Engelbrecht and her “True the Vote”project.

This is one of the best examples of what good citizen activism inspired by Tea Party principles can do for their community.

Catherine Engelbrecht was sick and tired of the vote fraud perpetrated by unions and Democrats and set out to expose it herself. Along with many friends who donated their time, computers, and sweat, they’ve uncovered thousands upon thousands of illegal Democrat “voters” in Texas.

“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes,” the Harris voter registrar, Leo Vasquez, charged as he passed on the documentation to the district attorney. A spokesman for the DA’s office declined to discuss the case. And a spokesman for Vasquez said that the DA has asked them to refrain from commenting on the case.

The union thug behind this particular criminal enterprise admitted only that there “had been mistakes made.” Yeah, like not worrying about icebergs was just a “mistake” made by the Titanic’s crew! Of the 25,000 voter registrations turned in by Caddle only about 1,793 were legal.

“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters.”

….The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Does anyone have any doubt that this sort of crime has been perpetrated by Democrats the nation over? How many millions of fake, dead, nonexistent, and/or fraudulent voters have Democrats foisted upon the voter rolls in every corner of the nation?

Well, due to the excellent work of Catherine Engelbrecht we see exposed at least some of the criminal behavior of Texas Democrats and Union thugs.

So what was the outcome of Engelbrecht’s hard work? All of Harris County’s voting machines were torched in a three-alarm fire by person or persons unknown. Bet those shadowy firebugs hold SEIU membership cards, too!

Great work, Catherine. Now let’s see this replicated in every city in the nation.

AFL-CIO Joins Communists, La Raza, ACLU, Other Unions in Voter Registration Drive

Looks like the AFL-CIO is no longer even trying to hide the fact that it no longer sports a traditionally American political outlook. The labor union has announced that it is joining a voter registration drive called One Nation Working Together. This coalition is filled with some of the most extremely leftist groups in America today including the ACLU, Enviro extremists, La Raza, Code Pink, various anti-war groups, and the Communist Party USA.

This new move by the AFL-CIO finds hearty support from the People’s World newspaper, a publication dedicated to communism and the “direct descendent” of the communist Daily Worker newspaper.

The AFL-CIO joins the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), The Center for American Progress, Green For All, USAction, and many others. The effort is being headed by United for Peace and Justice.

They claim that their goal is to, “transcend our superficial differences and bring us together in a common quest for equal opportunity and justice for all.”

I find the “superficial differences” line unintentionally hilarious because ideologically there isn’t even ahint of “superficial differences” between any of the groups involved here.

Like all these sort of left-wing efforts there is never a full list posted anywhere of what organizations have joined any particular effort. These leftist movements always try their hardest to hide from the public the extremist groups that have joined their program. The only way to piece together a partial list of participants is to look over the many news reports and catch little bits of information here and there. One wonders why they are so afraid to list what organizations have joined them?

Jeff Dunetz, though, does yeomen’s work tracking down a list of steering committee members of the UDPJ, the main sponsor. On that list we can see some hardcore, left-wing extremists. Names on that list includes among others:

• Dana Balicki — Code Pink
• Frida Berrigan — War Resisters League
• Jackie Cabasso — Western States Legal Foundation
• Steve Carlson — Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice
• Libero Della Piana — Communist Party USA
• Bill Henning — US Labor Against the War
• Perry O’Brien — Iraq Veterans Against the War
• David Wildman — US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation

These are the sort of extremists that the AFL-CIO is joining teams with. As Dunetz asks, “I wonder what their rank and file would say if they announced they were joining together with Marxist, Communist, and progressive groups…?” I agree. Airing right now...said the real unemployment is at 17.5%...showing tons of people with masters, bachelors, PhD's, you name it...unemployed for 2 years...can't even get jobs at Target.

There are a few incumbents worth re-electing…  Senator Jim DeMint, Rep Michelle Bachmann, Rep John Campbell, etc but there are far more, in fact most, that need to be replaced.  Senator Barbara Boxer, Rep Maxine Waters, Rep Loretta Sanchez, Speaker Pelosi… to name only a few, all from CA need to be retired.  And Jerry Brown has been all over CA politics including the Governorship and the unions and left wing media, both CA problems, back Brown so he isn’t a new choice either.  Brown is a career politician.

Time for some real change… America!  Time for some real change… California  Time to put America back to work!!

States Weigh Letting Noncitizens Vote

I am a naturalized citizen and came here with may parents as a toddler.  I grew up around mostly “legal” immigrants whose proudest was the day they became a naturalized citizen and could vote in the next election.  If you allow non-citizens to vote you are slapping every legal alien who has followed the rules and every naturalized citizen in the face… and you are giving away our country.  No sane country would every consider allowing non-citizens and especially illegal aliens vote.

We already have rampant voter fraud:  fixed voting machines, dead people voting, non-qualified people registered to vote, illegals influencing the election and even voting,  people voting multiple times, early voting and absentee voting infractions of all of the above, voter intimidations… and we can only imagine what will happen when the votes are counted.  And now we want to let non-citizens, in an ever growing unethical world vote?!?  Think about it…

What kind of a country allows foreigners to make the decisions for their country??  My only response to this is “How brainwashed have we already become that we would entertain this idea… even for a second?  Wake-up America before there is no more America!

States Weigh Letting Noncitizens Vote… Say It Isn’t So

PORTLAND, Maine -- Like his neighbors, Claude Rwaganje pays taxes on his income and taxes on his cars. His children have gone to Portland's public schools. He's interested in the workings of Maine's largest city, which he has called home for 13 years.

There's one vital difference, though: Rwaganje isn't a U.S. citizen and isn't allowed to vote on those taxes or on school issues. That may soon change.

Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it.

Noncitizens hold down jobs, pay taxes, own businesses, volunteer in the community and serve in the military, and it's only fair they be allowed to vote, Rwaganje said.

"We have immigrants who are playing key roles in different issues of this country, but they don't get the right to vote," said Rwaganje, 40, who moved to the U.S. because of political strife in his native Congo and runs a nonprofit that offers financial advice to immigrants.

Opponents of the measure say immigrants already have an avenue to cast ballots -- by becoming citizens. Allowing noncitizens to vote dilutes the meaning of citizenship, they say, adding that it could lead to fraud and unfairly sway elections.

"My primary objection is I don't think it is right, I don't think it is just, I don't think it is fair," Portland resident Barbara Campbell Harvey said.

In San Francisco, a ballot question Nov. 2 will ask voters whether they want to allow noncitizens to vote in school board elections if they are the parents, legal guardians or caregivers of children in the school system.

Noncitizens are allowed to vote in school board elections in Chicago and in municipal elections in half a dozen towns in Maryland, said Ron Hayduk, a professor at the City University of New York and author of "Democracy for All: Restoring Immigrant Voting Rights in the United States."

New York City allowed noncitizens to vote in community school board elections until 2003, when the school board system was reorganized, and several municipalities in Massachusetts have approved allowing it but don't yet have the required approval from the Legislature, he said.

The Maine ballot questions asks whether legal immigrants who are city residents but not U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote in municipal elections. If the measure passes, noncitizens would be able to cast ballots in school board, city council and school budget elections, as well as other local issues, but not on federal or statewide matters.

The Maine League of Young Voters, which spearheaded the drive to force the question on the ballot, estimates there are 5,000 to 7,500 immigrants in Portland, roughly half of whom are not U.S. citizens. They come from more than 100 countries, with the two largest groups from Somalia and Latin America.

On a recent day in a small lunchroom at the Al-Amin Halal Market, a group of Somali men ate lunch and talked in their native language. A sign advertised the day's offerings, including hilib ari (goat), bariis (rice) and baasto (spaghetti).

Abdirizak Daud, 40, moved to Minneapolis 18 years ago before coming to Portland in 2006. He hasn't been able to find a job. Some of his nine children have attended Portland schools, and he'd like to have a say in who's looking over the school system and the city, he said.

But between his limited English and the financial demands, Daud hasn't been able to become a citizen.

"I like the Democrats. I want to vote for Democrats, but I don't have citizenship," he said.

To become a citizen, immigrants must be a lawful permanent resident for at least five years, pass tests on English and U.S. history and government, and swear allegiance to the United States.

Supporters of Portland's ballot measure say the process is cumbersome, time-consuming and costly. The filing fee and fingerprinting costs alone are $675, and many immigrants spend hundreds of dollars more on English and civics classes and for a lawyer to help them through the process.

Allowing noncitizens to vote fits with basic democratic principles, Hayduk said.

Historically, 40 states allowed noncitizens to vote going back to 1776, but an anti-immigrant backlash in the late 1800s and early 1900s resulted in laws that eliminated their voting rights by 1926, Hayduk said.

"We look back in history and we say that was a bad thing that we didn't allow African-Americans to vote, or we didn't allow half the population, women, to vote, or we didn't allow younger people to vote," he said. "We've modified our election laws to become more inclusive to incorporate more members of society."

The Federation for American Immigration Reform, a Washington, D.C., group that advocates tougher immigration enforcement, says voting is a privilege and should be limited to citizens.

"People who are legal immigrants to the United States after a five-year waiting period can become citizens and become enfranchised," spokesman Ira Mehlman said. "But until then, being here as a legal immigrant is a conditional agreement, sort of like a trial period. You have to demonstrate you are the type of person we would want to have as a citizen, then you can become a citizen and vote."

If you are a corporation that does business in the U.S. and in Japan, you now pay 35% in corporate taxes in the U.S. and then 42% in Japan. In fact the US is second only to Japan for corporate taxes in the entire World yet the Feds want to increase it. Add the cost of union labor to that and you don’t even have to ask yourself why we no longer have any major manufacturing in this country and why people are leaving and starting businesses elsewhere instead of in the United States.
