Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings was the founder, and for many years, Executive Director of an organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). GLSEN started essentially as Jennings’ personal project and grew to become the culmination of his life’s work. And he was chosen by President Obama to be the nation’s Safe Schools Czar primarily because he had founded and led GLSEN (scroll for bio).

GLSEN’s stated mission is to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. To that end, GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids. Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own.

According to GLSEN’s own press releases from the period during which its recommended reading list was developed, the organization’s three areas of focus were creating “educational resources, public policy agenda, [and] student organizing programs”; in other words, the reading list (chief among its “educational resources”) was of prime importance in GLSEN’s efforts to influence the American educational system.

The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.

We knew that unless we carefully documented what we were reading, the public would have a hard time accepting it. Mere descriptions on our part could not convey the emotional gut reaction one gets when seeing what Kevin Jennings wants kids to read as school assignments. So we began scanning pages from each of the books, and then made exact transcriptions of the relevant passages on each page.

Are we exaggerating, or misconstruing quotes that could be interpreted a different way? No: Read the passages below and judge for yourself. There’s no wiggle room. The language is explicit, the intent clear.

We can only vouch for what’s in these 11 books, since these are the only ones we’ve read through. Are there other books on the GLSEN reading list that are similarly outrageous? We can’t say for sure, but it seems very likely. What you see excerpted below is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

Let it be clear: This issue has nothing to do with gayness or straightness, which is irrelevant to this report. The point proven here is that the GLSEN reading list promotes the sexualization of children in general, regardless of the “orientation.”

And this is not about censorship: It’s about deciding what constitutes appropriate reading material for children. We’re perfectly OK with these books existing and being read by adults; we only start to worry when these books are assigned to children. All sorts of books are excluded from school reading lists, for all sorts of reasons. Even many books once considered classics are now considered off-limits due to language or attitudes now deemed inappropriate. And yet, according to Kevin Jennings and GLSEN, books about a 13-year-old getting “my cock sucked and my ass fucked” or about a teenager enjoying the “exquisite bitter taste” of his friend’s semen are not just acceptable, they’re highly recommended. As GLSEN’s own site says, “All BookLink items are reviewed by GLSEN staff for quality and appropriateness of content.” Really? (Note: GLSEN does advise adults to “review content for suitability.”)

Although GLSEN does not address how books get added to its list, it’s hard to imagine that they are chosen by low-level staffers or volunteers, with no oversight. Since the list of recommended books is one of the organization’s primary tools (”The GLSEN BookLink, an online library of recommended resources, along with the Safe Space program remain cornerstones of GLSEN’s education work.”source), it’s likely that the books were chosen carefully. Kevin Jennings stepped down as Executive Director last year after leading GLSEN since its inception, but every single book mentioned in this report was added to the list while Jennings was in charge (dates are given for each title’s addition to the list). Therefore, it’s reasonable to believe he was aware of the addition of these works – especially since most were added when GLSEN was still quite small and the Executive Director had a hands-on role in daily operations.

Below you will find dozens of excerpts taken from books on the GLSEN “Booklink” recommended reading list for grades 7-12 (i.e. for children between the ages of 12 and 17). To prove that these books are indeed recommended by GLSEN for children, click on each book’s title to see its individual listing on the GLSEN Web site. And to prove that each excerpt is transcribed exactly as it appears in each book, click on the page numbers or the small images along the left to see scans taken directly of the book pages in question. (Ellipses ["..."] indicate unrelated passages not included in some of the transcriptions; click on the full-page scans to see the complete extended quotes.) Each passage is preceded by a brief summary, given in italics.

You decide for yourself if you think these are appropriate for kids as young as 12 years old to read. And then decide if you think the man who headed the organization responsible for recommending these books to children should be in charge of school safety in this country.

The Speaker of the Danish Parliament has issued a damning criticism of the climate debate, saying politicians gullibly turn theories into facts.

As the world prepares to converge on Copenhagen for the COP15 Climate Summit, Denmark’s Speaker of Parliament has expressed serious doubts as to the way in which the climate debate has developed.

“The problem is that lots of people go around saying that the climate change we see is a result of human activity. That is a very dangerous claim,” Parliamentary Speaker and former Finance Minister Thor Pedersen (Lib) tells DR.

“Unfortunately I seem to experience that scientists say: ‘We have a theory’ – then that crosses the road to the politicians who say: ‘We know’. Who can be bothered to hear a scientist who says ‘I have a theory’ when politicians go around saying ‘I know’” Thor Pedersen says.

No temperature rise
Thor Pedersen adds that the temperature has not risen in the past decade.

“I’m not saying that in the decade that the temperature has fallen or stagnated is enough to evaluate developments. But one should only say what one knows,” the Speaker adds.

“You should say that although we believed in our models, that the temperature would rise from 1998 to 2008, we have to admit that it has not risen. We cannot explain why it has not risen, but we believe we still have a problem. I’m just asking that people say what they actually know,” Pedersen tells DR.

Pedersen says that a major challenge is how to ensure energy and food to cater for the major population growth the world will be experiencing, and that the COP15 Climate Summit could result in an agreement that reduces the pressure on the Earth.

“We should all shake hands and agree to do everything possible to create good living conditions. That has nothing to do with the climate debate, in which we try to determine the globe’s temperature. It is common sense,” Thor Pedersen says in his interview with DR.

This is a good sign… and Climategate was an unexpected gift, but Obama, who is interested in redistribution of wealth and not what is good for Americans is not only plodding along and stopping off in Copenhagen, but is now changing his Copenhagen visit to correspond with other world leaders (China and India) and at a more crucial time during the gathering and process.

Mind you... Fat Albert (Gore) has now backed out of speaking at Copenhagen. Do you need anymore proof?? But Obama still plans to go there and commit to reducing our carbon emmissions to 2005 levels, which is just about impossible then to commit $10 Billion a year to under developed countries to fight carbon emissions... First of all, do we have that money to spend... oh sorry or leader is into redistribution of wealth at our expense? And secondly, how about using that money for food, water and infrastructure in third world countries instead, if we are going to commit it?? Hello??

Copenhagen can lead to a significant political agreement, but if it happens it will be a major disaster for the developed world, with the United States the biggest loser, since it would bankrupt the nation to bribe poor countries into surrendering their own development.

Insiders at the negotiating session in Spain said the missing ingredient - even more than the absence of agreement on targets, money and technology - was trust.

But treaty organizers are determined to have it pass. And with the help of our U. S. Senators and President Obama, it will! Swedish Finance Minister Anders Borg said at the close of the Spain session, "There will be a deal in Copenhagen, that's quite clear. We won't solve the problem in Copenhagen, but there will be progress."

The Most Powerful Office in the World Is NOT the President of the United States!

Now wait a minute. Isn't the President of the United States the leader of the Western World, the man with his hand on the nuclear trigger, the head of a ten-trillion dollar nation?

The President is, indeed, the most powerful man in the world - but the presidency is not the most powerful office in the world.
Another office is more powerful because it chooses whose names will appear on the ballot for elective office and what will be the policies of the political parties that provide the major support for those candidates. To understand why this office is so powerful, you must understand the Seven Steps of government.

1. To change things, you have to change the law.
Are there things about our country you want to change? Taxes? Deficits? Schools? Crime? Abortion? Gay rights? Government funding of anti-social projects? Government over-regulation of business?
Are you satisfied with the way the present Congress is raising our taxes, spending our money, and reducing our liberties?

Our Constitution makes Congress the most powerful branch of government. It can pass laws, impose taxes, and spend our money. State Legislatures are powerful, too, especially over public schools.
So, if you don't like the present policies, what are your going to do about it? Our Constitution gives us a way to remedy laws, policies, and taxes — members of the House of Representatives in Congress and the lower house of each State Legislature must run for office every two years.

2. To change the laws, you have to change the people who make them.

Congress and the State Legislatures pass thousands of laws every year. No citizen or group can possibly read them all, research them to find out their effect in advance, or alert their friends to go into action with letter-writing and phone-calling. Congressmen and State Legislators who have been elected by liberal and anti-family groups will not be receptive to your messages anyway.
If you want to change the laws or taxes, you must elect representatives you can reliably count on to vote conservative and pro-family all the time.

3. To be elected, your candidate must be on the ballot.
How often have you voted for "the lesser of two evils" when you didn't like either of the two candidates running for an important office? Have you ever wondered why, despite the rhetoric, both candidates seem to back the same anti-conservative, liberal and anti-family agenda? How many times is a good conservative, pro-family candidate not even on the ballot?

4. To get on the ballot in a general election, you have to be nominated for an office in a Party Primary Election or Convention.
The winners in the Party Primary or Convention will be the candidates who appear on the ballot in November. Except in very rare cases, all candidates must first win a Party Primary or Convention. Write-in campaigns are theoretically possible, but they rarely succeed. Third-party candidates are theoretically possible, but unless a candidate has as much money as Ross Perot, running as a third-party candidate probably won't be successful and the votes may not even be counted or reported.

5. Candidates endorsed by the Party usually win the Primary Election.
Most voters don't investigate the Primary candidates, or even find out who they are. Sometimes, many candidates run in the Primary for nomination to the same office and the voters are confused. Only a small minority of Americans vote in Primary elections. One of the reasons for the small turnout in Primary elections (in addition to voter apathy) is that you usually must declare yourself a member of one Party or another in order to vote in the Primary. Primary Election rules vary from state to state, but in most states, in order to vote in a Primary you either have to pre-register as a Republican or a Democrat OR ask for a Republican or a Democratic Party ballot on Primary Election day.

Most Americans don't want to do that. The result is that persons nominated to be the "Republican candidates" on the ballot in the general election are chosen by those who are willing to declare themselves "Republican" in the Primary or Convention that selects the nominees.

Sometimes the Party organization actually "endorses" candidates in the Primary Election. Many voters who don't know much about the candidates vote for the "endorsed" candidate just because they are disposed to support that Party's candidate.

6. Primary endorsements are often made by the Party's "County Committee" (or Township Committee, etc.), which is elected by the Precinct Committeemen of the Party.

Each political party has national state, county, township, and (in the big cities) ward organizations (usually called committees or central committees). The county and township committees frequently endorse candidates in the Primary, and that endorsement is often the key to a Primary victory.

The county chairman and the county central committee (or executive committee) are elected every two years (usually) by the Precinct Committeemen (sometimes called Precinct Chairmen) who, in turn, are elected in their individual precincts. Thus, the Chairman of the Madison County Republican Central Committee is elected at a county convention of the more than 200 Madison County Republican Precinct Committeemen who were themselves elected on the ballot in the previous Primary Election.

It's not necessary to have a majority of Precinct Committeemen to influence the endorsement process. In a typical county, some will be liberals and some conservatives, but the majority will be Party Regulars who are interested in patronage and power, not issues. They can be influenced to support your candidate if you can persuasively show that he has a good chance to win. For Party Regulars, winning is the name of the game.

7. It's easy to be elected a Precinct Committeeman.
The way you get elected a Precinct Committeeman is usually very simple. In a typical state, you can call your county clerk and get the necessary forms, get ten of your friends to sign a Petition requesting that you be on the ballot in the Primary as a candidate for Precinct Committeeman, and file the Petition by the required date. Then you walk around your precinct, knock on one door after another, and say, "I would appreciate it if you would vote for me for Precinct Committeeman. You will find me on the Republican ballot in the Primary election on Tuesday, _______________." If you win you are the elected Precinct Committeeman for your precinct.
Of course, if your precinct already has a good Precinct Committeeman who is doing his job, he may not take kindly to you as an upstart and he may defeat you. You should find out the situation before making your decision.

However, a typical county may have dozens of precincts without any Precinct Committeeman because no one has bothered to run. It is sometimes easy to be appointed to one of these positions by calling your Party Chairman. Many precincts have do-nothing Committeemen who can easily be defeated because they don't do their job.

* To change things, we must change the laws.
* To change the laws, we must change the people who make them.
* To get elected, your candidate must be on the ballot.
* To get on the November ballot you must win the Primary.
* To win the Primary, you must get the support of people who make endorsements in the Primary, who reliably vote in the Primary, and who get out the vote of others in the Primary. Those people are the Precinct Committeemen.

Therefore, Precinct Committeeman is the most powerful office in the world because Precinct Committeemen determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of government. Remember, if your candidate is not on the ballot, he will not be elected.

Party rules and titles vary widely from state to state, but usually the two parties in a given state use the same system. Where "Republican" is used, "Democratic" can be substituted. The term "Committeeman" is an office, not a person, so it can be a he or a she.

Duties of the Precinct Committeeman
The Precinct Committeeman is the person who is legally charged with getting out the vote on election day. If he does his job well, he will ring the doorbell of every household in the precinct and ask polite questions to find out the Party and other political views of every voter. (That's called canvassing.) Then, before each election, the Precinct Committeeman will personally deliver campaign literature (such as a marked sample ballot) to every voter who is expected to vote for your Party or candidate. Then the Precinct Committeeman makes sure that all his voters get to the polls on election day. This is the way elections are won.

Powers of the Precinct Committeeman
1. Friendly access to neighbors. Most people are eager to know more about their government and the people who run it. When you introduce yourself as their "Republican Precinct Committeeman," they assume you have something to say. You can provide them with information on candidates and issues. Of course, you don't waste your time on those who would rather get their information from the Precinct Committeeman of the other Party.

2. Respect from elected officials. Since a Precinct Committeeman represents, on average, 500 voters, and has the power to vote for other Party officials and to make endorsements of candidates, any call or letter from a Precinct Committeeman gets the attention of elected officials.

3. Launching pad for other offices. You would be amazed at how many of our Presidents, Senators, Congressmen, and state and local officials started as Precinct Committeemen, and still serve as Precinct Committeemen even though they hold a higher elected office. That's because they know the power of a Precinct Committeeman.

4. Direct influence over Party Platform, policies, and selection of candidates. At state, district, county, and township caucuses and conventions, the Precinct Committeeman is an active player. He can have a tremendous influence on the adoption of the Party Platform and policies, support of or opposition to issues, and selection of candidates.

Progressive Liberalism is Regressive Immaturity

The American spirit was evident in the words contained within the Declaration of Independence.“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”  These are words of ’self-determinism’, giving the individual a Government that allows for a person’s own pursuits. The Constitution neither confers greater rights to the individual, nor does it in any way limit an individual so long as they are operating within the Law; which of itself does not limit anyone’s pursuit of happiness nor success. A self determined life recognizes that the onus of responsibility rests squarely on the shoulders of the individual. One has the right to pursue their dreams, but nowhere is it stated that one is entitled to their dreams. Wikipedia simply defines self-determinism as follows:

Need for competence: refers to the need to experience oneself as capable and competent in controlling the environment and being able to reliably predict outcomes.

Need for autonomy: refers to the need to actively participate in determining own behavior. It includes the need to experience one’s actions as result of autonomous choice without external interference.

Need for relatedness: refers to need to care for and be related to others. It includes the need to experience authentic relatedness from others and to experience satisfaction in participation and involvement with the social world. Legislated relatedness is not authentic.

Lacking the attendant responsibility of self-determinism is where socialism over-extends its basic supportive role in our society. Obviously those that are in some way handicapped deserve our assistance. Those that have been discriminated against deserve a fair chance. Yet socialism has become the forerunner to Progressive Liberalism, inasmuch that socialism exploded beyond its economically defined boundary becomes a model of equalizing humanity. In our modern reiteration of socialism, equal opportunity is translated to mean ‘everyone should be equal’. This is regressive. It is in fact a perversion, inasmuch that a perversion (by definition) is the pathological distortion of Truth.
It is interesting to note that all perversions (be they intellectual or sexual), always seek ‘more’. The sick mind is voracious in its appetite, always consuming, never giving, and never sated. America is being consumed by this ravenous appetite, as perversion seeks justification behind it’s rationalization of a false nobility.

We Were all Born Dependent
Primary archaic narcissism is our state of being upon birth. There is no distinction between self and other, there is only primal ’self’ and the need for narcissistic supplies to ameliorate a very fearful primal existence. The dispensing of these supplies ameliorates fears, develops the super-ego, and indoctrinates the budding human being into responsible social and self-awareness in contrast to “other”. Developmental anomalies in this process can lead to pathological Narcissism.
Simplifying narcissism, it can be said that narcissism is a defense against Emptiness as it struggles to assuage the anxieties between Ego and Object. This severely truncates the maturation process and gives rise to all manner of psychological and social aberrations.

To understand this narcissistic defense as it manifests, we merely have to look at liberal world view. I think it fair to say that what liberals mainly see when they look at this country is injustice and oppression of every kind—economic, social and political. This view is steeped in negativity and evokes their emotional response. Perceiving the external as wrong, strengthens the impoverished image of ’self’ as righteous. It only makes sense that given this perspective, what they see requires that America be changed or discarded.

In their infantile grandiosity and narcissistic dysfunctionality, they envision an America modeled after their own inner ideal ’self’ image that is projected onto the world around them, and then followed as if they were watching a movie that is totally disconnected from the source; the ‘projector’. This clearly demonstrates the mechanism of ’self-idolatry’ that is consistent with all narcissistic behavior. It also explains the push to a Godless America. The Ten Commandmentsstates “thou shall have no other god before me”, and “thou shall not make for yourself any idol.” Interestingly enough, a narcissist would have a few problems following the other 8 commandmentsas well. Self-idolatry deems oneself the motor-center of the universe around which all other things must flow, and there is no room in the narcissistic mind for two Gods, for nothing can exist higher than ’self’ for the narcissist.

Thus, the narcissistic progressive liberal shouts “I deserve”. Rather than struggling with the maturation process of self-responsibility, they cry out from the dark womb of emptiness and ineptitude that has been compensated for with their false god-like nobility. They seek comfort in the same manner that an infant suckles at the breast.

When a person has not adequately matured within the family environment, they seek an over emphasized need from Society. Most psychological disorders can be traced to having their roots in an imbalance between Home and Society. Society is unfeeling. Society does not give narcissistic supplies to the individual. Society is largely neutral, a blank blackboard awaiting the individual to take the chalk and author their personal script for their life. Society bestows upon the individuals that inhabit it the self-deterministic ‘freedom of choice’. When there are aberrations in those supplies that spring forth from the home, then an individual seeks more from Society then its intended purpose. Society is then subconsciously perceived as the Mother’s Breast, and those that remain fearful of life want to suck Society dry. The **** of society becomes the pacifier against the fear of maturation and the responsibilities inherent therein.

We were all born liberal; just some of us grew up.

I posted this earlier in the week as part of a Climategate posting, but thought it was worth sending out again… Yesterday England, tomorrow us, if we don’t really wake-up and start standing up.

We woke up in a different country today. Alright, it doesn’t look very different. The trees still seem black against the winter sun; the motorways continue to jam inexplicably; commuters carry on avoiding eye contact. But Britain is no longer a sovereign nation. At midnight last night, we ceased to be an independent state, bound by international treaties to other independent states, and became instead a subordinate unit within a European state.

Yes, a European state. Take a quick dekko at the definition set out in Article One of the 1933 Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States: “The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.”

Until yesterday, the EU qualified on grounds (a), (b) and (c). Now it has ticked the final box. Under the Lisbon Treaty, which came into force today, it acquires “legal personality”, which gives it the right to sign accords and treat with other states. Nor is this right simply theoretical: the EU now has a foreign minister, a diplomatic corps (the European External Action Service) and 160 overseas embassies.

Until yesterday, the EU could not annex additional policy areas without a new treaty, which needed to be ratified by all its constituent nations. Now, it has the so-called “passerelle” clause, or self-amending mechanism. Parliament, in other words, no longer has the final say on extensions of EU jurisdiction. The EU derives its authority, not from its 27 members, but from its own foundational texts.

Until yesterday, Britain could simply walk out of the EU by abrogating the Treaty of Rome and repealing the 1972 European Communities Act. Henceforth, it will have to go through the secession procedure laid down in Lisbon. In other words – in the minds of Euro-lawyers, at any rate, if not of British constitutionalists – the EU gets to settle the terms on which its members are allowed to leave. Formal sovereignty has been shifted from the national capitals to Brussels.

It is appalling, demeaning, disgraceful that such a thing should have been done without popular consent, and in the absence of the referendum that all three parties had promised. “There’s no point in crying over spilt milk,” you might say. True. But there is every point in mopping it up.

We warn our spiritual brethren in America… you are next! The North American Union has been signed and if Obama signs the Copenhagen treaty you will no longer exist on two fronts.

You can still stop it. Ask yourself, is this what the Founding Fathers envisioned for America? Also remember, most of what used to seem like conspiracy theories are or have come true. And the world is watching you… the American people!~

We just heard that North Korea’s Currency has collapsed and with the meeting in Copenhagen going on now, you can bet it is no accident that it happened this week!!

Per Germany’s Der Spiegel the cadets present at Obama’s speech were coached yesterday to respond to his speech enthusiastically! (and still were luke warm).

And, did you know that General McCrystal actually asked Obama for 40 to 60 thousand troops; stressing that 40,000 would be a bare minimum if we wanted to win?!? What did he give him?? 30 to 35,000 almost 4 months later?

President Obama, in a speech Tuesday that could define the rest of his presidency, laid out his plan to quickly send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan to revive the struggling war effort while setting a preliminary timeline for withdrawal -- aiming to start handing over security roles to Afghan forces by July 2011.

"The status quo is unsustainable," Obama said as he outlined his case for a three-part strategy: more troops to bolster the military effort, a "civilian surge" to improve living conditions in the country and an increased focus on the United States' partnership with Pakistan.

The much-anticipated strategy decision is one of the most significant foreign policy moves of Obama's early presidency, and the White House is hoping the plan will achieve the tough task of appeasing the military, a war-weary public and the anti-war left. Read more here.

Government to decide its role in U.S. media

According to Democratic Congressman Henry Waxman-CA, the government needs to step in and reshape the way America gets its news.

Now that the elections are over, many news outlets are struggling to make a profit and the plethora of websites that provide news has put a dent in the traditional main stream media, many of which are now begging for a government bailout.

Waxman claims that quality journalism is an essential process for U.S. democracy and argued that it was the duty of government to step in and prop up failing newspapers. However, many disagree with Waxman’s assessment of lagging newspapers, namely Fox News and talk radio in general. If one believes in the free-market capitalism model and a product no longer wanted by the public at large - the product fails.

Nobody will argue the media leans left in overwhelming numbers and since the country is a center right crowd, perhaps news organizations should tweak their product to reflect a true American market.

“Eventually government is going to have to be responsible to help and resolve these issues,” Waxman told a U.S. Federal Trade Commission conference on the future of journalism.

Free Press, a public interest organization, said “the search for solutions to the crisis in journalism should be premised on the idea that news-gathering is a public service, not a commodity.”

The Obama "Jobs Summit" Who In the White House Has Ever Created a Job?

Tomorrow, the Obama Administration will hold its much-hyped "jobs summit" in Washington, D.C. Plenty of politicians will be there, as well as labor bosses and academics. No doubt, some business representatives have been recruited to attend as well.

Today, in contrast, a very different group of Americans will kick off a series of "Real Jobs Summits" in Cincinnati. Tomorrow, we will be in Jackson, Mississippi.

Instead of politicians who talk deceptively of "saving or creating" jobs, we will have entrepreneurs who have actually created jobs. Instead of so-called "experts" who offer theories, we will have small business people who know the reality of joblessness in America today.

Ask yourself this:

As the Obama Administration convenes with the so-called "experts" in Washington, how many in the White House have actually created a job?

A Jobs Valley, Not a Summit

What the Obama Administration is promoting as a jobs "summit" tomorrow is in fact a jobs valley.

After 10 months and the authorization of $787 billion in government spending, the economic policies of the White House and the Democratic Congress have failed. 15.7 million Americans are out of work, 3.2 million of them since the stimulus was first passed in February. Unemployment, at 10.2 percent, is higher than the President promised it would be if he did nothing. The Obama-Pelosi-Reid economic policies are hurting, not helping.
The stakes are high, and no doubt the White House and the Democratic Congress (as does every American) would love to see the jobs numbers improve. But three fundamental facts of their approach are crippling their effort:

1. Ideology
2. Interest Groups
3. Personnel

Number 1: Ideology. Secular Socialism Has Never Worked to
Create Jobs and It Won't Work Here

The mainstream media roll their eyes and laugh at the term, but the Obama-Pelosi-Reid economic policies are genuinely secular-socialist policies.

Their central purpose is not to create wealth but to redistribute wealth.

The problem is this big government, high taxing, big bureaucracy and politician driven model simply does not work to create jobs. It was the model of the United States in the 1970s and the model of Europe today. It has never worked anywhere to create jobs and wealth, and it won't work here.

A Very Different Ideology: Free Market Capitalism

As the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine attempts to force its secular-socialist model on Americans in the form of job-killing health, energy, and big labor legislation, American small business people are crying out for a very different set of solutions.

These are the solutions that will take center stage at the American Solutions Real Jobs Summit in Cincinnati today.

They are the solutions of Ronald Reagan and the Contract with America.

Reduced taxes to spur jobs and investment. Controlled government spending to favor entrepreneurs over bureaucrats.

Reduced regulation and litigation to produce jobs and create wealth.

If the goal is more jobs, both history and the opinions of American business people couldn't be more clear: More economic freedom works, more government doesn't.
Number Two: Democratic Interest Groups.

Redistributing Rather Than Creating Wealth

The second fact that cripples the Obama-Pelosi-Reid jobs effort is the liberal special interest groups these politicians are beholden to.

Trial lawyers, labor unions and government employees are redistributors of wealth, not creators of wealth.

When Democratic special interest groups meet, there is practically no one in the room who has created a job.
The American Solutions Real Jobs Summits will work with those who create jobs and wealth to make their jobs easier and their success more likely.

Our interest groups are the engines of our economy - the small business owners and entrepreneurs whose voices aren't being heard in Washington today.

Number Three: The Obama Cabinet.

The Least Private Sector Experience in Over 100 Years
The third reason to doubt that the Obama-Pelosi-Reid economic policies will produce more jobs is succinctly illustrated in this graph.

It shows that the Obama Administration cabinet has far less private sector experience than any administration in over 100 years. A stunning 90 percent of the prior experience of the Obama cabinet is in government, not the private sector.

These are the people America is supposed to listen to in order to create new jobs?

American Solutions, in contrast, is building a Small Business Advisory Council, a network of entrepreneurs with long experience in job creation.

These experienced entrepreneurs have helped us formulate a real plan for real job creation that we can enact right now to create new jobs.

1. Reduce Spending and Reform Government to Achieve a Balanced Budget.

While I was Speaker, federal spending rose by an average of 2.9 percent per year, the lowest increase since the 1920s. We can apply the same principles that worked from 1995 to 1998 to create jobs and four straight balanced budgets through smaller government, less spending, lower interest rates, and less debt.

2. Five Tax Reforms to Reward Job Creation, Entrepreneurship, Savings, and Investment.

a. Immediate Payroll Tax Relief. Allow workers and employers to keep more of their hard earned money through an immediate, two-year, 50 percent reduction of the payroll tax. This step would immediately boost the take home pay of every worker, and dramatically free up cash for every employer to hire and invest. This tax relief could be paid for with unspent TARP and stimulus money.

b. Incentives for Small Business Investment. Allow small businesses to expense 100 percent of new equipment purchases each year to help them invest in new, more productive technologies.

c. Abolish Taxes on Capital Gains. Match the Chinese capital gains rate of zero. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan testified in the 1990s that this was the best rate for economic growth.
d. Reduce the Business Tax Rate. America has the second highest business tax rate in the world. We should match the Irish business tax rate of 12.5 percent. Combined with a zero rate of taxation on capital gains, America would become the most desirable country in the world in which to invest and start a business.

e. Abolish the Death Tax. Inheritance is the most powerful accumulator of capital. Studies show that eliminating the death tax would create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

3. American Energy Plan to Create American Jobs and Keep American Money at Home.

Developing more American energy while protecting the environment would mean the creation of millions of new American jobs and the generation of billions of dollars in new federal tax revenues, largely without the need for any new federal spending. The first steps we need to take are to develop more of America's oil, natural gas, and oil shale resources, expand nuclear power, provide prizes for key energy breakthroughs, and an emphasis on incentives, not taxes, to achieve our energy and environmental goals.

Two Visions of Jobs Growth, Two Visions of America

In is an interesting thought... a jobs summit put by a group of elitist people who have never worked out side of community organizing or academia and who by most people's standards have never really worked, let alone created jobs or competed in any type of business arena. And they don't invite either the U.S. Chamber of Commerce or the Federation of Independent Business Owners.

A friend sends along the following chart from a J.P. Morgan research report. It examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy. It includes secretaries of State, Commerce, Treasury, Agriculture, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and excludes Postmaster General, Navy, War, Health, Education & Welfare, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security—432 cabinet members in all.

When one considers that public sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinet—over 90 percent of its prior experience was in the public sector—is remarkable.

You really wonder, don't you, if they want to end the recession or create jobs at all?!?
